What a great pan!
I needn't have worried about where to store it. It gets so much use it is rarely put away. A most versatile piece of equipment. Even heat, easy cleanup, perfect size for so many different tasks, as other reviewers agree. (More than you'd imagine until you actually start using it.) A pleasure to use every time, and a great value at the sale price. Beautiful to look at, it also makes a great gift.

Beautiful pan!
I'm tired of those non-stick pans that eventually lose their coating and thought that I'll try stainless steel pan for almost everything but frying an egg. Boy did I pick the right pan to start with! This pan, besides being beautifully made, is the perfect size for almost everything I cook. It's very heavy, but the helper handle helps. It conducts heat very well, so I no longer use the high setting on my gas stove or the food would burn. Despite being made in China, the quality is excellent. I'm sure it will last decades. My only complaint is that sometimes I wish the stainless steel cover is made of glass so I can see through. But, I'll still give it 5 stars because I'm very very happy with the design and quality.

Great Pan
Awesome to cook in and clean up is a breeze. Remember to follow the instructions to keep the heat on Medium and close the lid. I have even cooked rice in this and it has come out great!! Highly recommend this pan.

What a great cooking tool...
This piece of cookware is an excellent size to do all kinds of things. I have used it to roast a chicken, I make chili in it and it cleans up very easily.
I do alot of cooking from scratch... no pre-fab dinners... this is a true tool that should be in every kitchen!

Great saute pan!
You won't be sorry with this pan. Very heavy stainless. Heat conductivity and even temperatures are the norm. Get this one before it sells out. And what a bargain! I ordered more for presents.

A great pan at a great price
This Cuisinart Chef's Classic saute pan has quickly become my favorite pan. It's huge - a full 12" across - which makes it very versatile. The pan conducts heat extremely well and is oven safe to 500 degrees. The handle is very sturdy, reasonably comfortable, and stays cool (outside of the oven, of course). The lid fits tightly. Both the interior and the exterior are very shiny and attractive. All this and it's easy to clean. Yet this pan sells for just a fraction of the sexier brands like All-Clad or Calphalon.

The chief reason for the great price is due to the construction. This is known as a "disk bottom" pan because it has a highly conductive aluminum disk embedded in its base. The really expensive brands feature "cladding", where a layer of conductive metal (usually aluminum) is embedded throughout the entire pan. Although the cookware industry loves to say that disk-bottom pans are inferior, test after test proves this claim is untrue. After all, we don't cook on the sides of a pan; we only cook on the bottom. See Cook's Illustrated magazine, May/June 2003, for a great discussion of this.

There are a few reasons why this pan might not be right for you. This pan's size makes it fairly heavy, so if you have arthritis or weak hands, you might want to opt for a smaller pan. Similarly, this pan might not fit on those tiny stovetops or ranges that you sometimes see in "galley" kitchens in apartments. But if you want a large, durable, high-quality saute pan at a fraction of the cost of the big-name brands, this is the pan for you.

Great for soups
This is such an improvement over the standard stainless pots most people have. I love making soups and this is just perfect for that. It is quite heavy, but that's one of the nice things - it's solid! Great purchase - well worth the money!

I cook for a living...
This is a really good size.
Believe it or not we use some Le Creuset at work and because of the performance quality I bought this particular Dutch oven for my home. I love it. It is so very versatile... I can make soups, stocks, sauces and braise on the stove top or sear and roast meats or birds in my oven (the lid handle is good up to 500 degrees) and it makes a wonderfull rice pot. This is a good size for making a gallon of anything for two to twelve people. I have professional copper cookware at home so my choices of color were limited to "flame" or this...I like the contrast.
Although pricey and heavy (for the "home" cook ;-) you can't go wrong with this piece and the "granite" matches almost any decor. I liked this one so much that I bought an oval 6+ qt. also.
This will be a lifetime investment for you...enjoy
I'ma givin' dis babe 5*z

The Best
I received this Le Creuset 4-1/2-Quart Round French Oven as a birthday gift and it is perfect in every way. I cannot recommend enough the overall quality of le Creuset products. They are also very attractive and add enjoyment to all forms of cooking. This particular 4-1/2-Quart Round French Oven is a great size and shape and can be used for a variety of things. It also fits perfectly upon the le Creuset trivet. Other products of similar quality you might try are Global knives and Cuisinart appliances. You won't be disappointed.

Great Multi Use Braiser
This pan is in addition to my other mulit clad pans that I have. One of the several uses I have used this pan is to make Osso Bucco, also known as braised veal shanks, both on top of the stove and in the oven. It goes from stove top to oven without any problems. The dome lid really helps to keep in the flavor and juices without letting it all boil away and leaving dried out meat or worse a burnt dried out pan. The pan also is great from removing from the oven, removing the meat and then letting the juices reduce to thicken over high heat. Other ways I have used this pan is make Spanish Paella, to saute vegetables for a side dish and have even done a flambe of cherries jubilee for a dinner party. The pan is balanced and heavy enough to allow the sautuing motion without the pan dancing around on the burner. Everything I have used this pan for has performed well in it including using it to float candles around a pillar candle for a different type of table centerpiece for a recent holiday. Clean up on this pan is a snap. Just fill it with hot soapy water and let it soak for a short time, then wash as usual. I keep both inside and outside looking brand new with an occasional rub of Bar Keepers Friend cleanser. Its a great pan at a great price. Its also a great addition to any cookware set one I highly recommend.

great value!
Cuisinart's multiclad pans perform as well as the much higher priced All clad. Food doesn't stick, and clean up is a breeze. I love the braiser and use it often. It's perfect for searing meat, then finishing it off in the oven. Also great for stove top dishes like osso bucco. This is one pan I would not want to be without.

Truly excellent pan
I bought this on Amazon's deep discount for the Multiclad line, which appears to be on closeout. It's a great all-purpose large pan. I bought it instead of buying a 12-inch skillet or Le Creuset-style buffet casserole. It's versatile as you can use it on the stovetop, or in the oven as a baking/braising pan, and then you can serve with it. The quality is very high, perhaps a half-notch lower than all-clad or KithenAid pans, however this was much much cheaper. Functionally it is 10/10ths on par with the best clad lines, however and will certainly last a lifetime. The thickness of the aluminum layer is equivalent to All-Clad's braisers, and slightly thinner than KitchenAid. It heats very evenly. The handles are securely riveted and the lightly brushed finish on the pan is very easy to clean. The lid is domed (more useful than All-Clad's flat lid) and is highly polished (warning: never scrub the lid with anything - like all stainless pans, it will scratch). It cleans up easily and was certainly worth it at the clearance price. Add'l note: people on a budget looking for clad pans should look at the rest of this line. The clearance prices are good value.

BEEN A LONG TIME FAN OF LE CREUSET
Who ever invented Descoware (Le Creuset) is number 1 in my book forever. I have used the big soup pot and buffet casserole pot for years and I love them.

The 2 1/2 Quart Casserole Pan can be used as a Impossible Pie Pan easily, or you can just as well bake chicken in it and not worry about the juice over flowing on the the stove.

I have love my Le Creuset cookware and I wouldn't trade it in for the world.

Gorgeous Green Casserole
This Le Creuset 2 1/2-Quart Buffet Casserole is a smaller version of the bestselling 7 1/4-Quart Bouillabaisse pot, with the same rounded shape. This handmade pot combines form and function so well. I love how I can take it from the range top or oven directly to the table and have a pretty serving pot for any kind of hot or cold dish. I use a matching green Le Creuset trivet to protect the table from a steaming hot pot because it is made of enamel-coated cast iron. The green color of this pot matches well with the Franciscan Apple china pattern, too.

I use this pot for rice, couscous, and pasta; and for smaller servings of paella, curry, and calimari. Everything I have made in it has turned out well. Add this casserole to your collection of Le Creuset cookware--you will love using it!

A daily workhorse
If you're a single or couple or have to make do in a small kitchen, this should be on your short list of things to get first--it won't leave your stove. The ability of this ceramic-covered cast iron to cook at low-to-medium temperatures is virtually unmatched. Plus it cleans amazingly easily, at most requiring a short soak. No fear of making oatmeal or rice in this baby. It's also the perfect casserole. And the omelet-pan lid is my all-time favorite for fried eggs and toasted cheese (although it's not large enough for eggs for a crowd or more than one sandwich at a time).

Couple this with Scanpan's 3.25-qt stock pot, which is a highly useful, very-high-quality, easy-to-handle multi-use pot (including boiling pasta for 1 or 2 people), and you've got a great glass lid that fits perfectly on this omelet pan. Then you can turn this omelet pan into a saute pan, say for braising tender boneless chicken breasts with lime butter. Mmmm.....

If you need something bigger, get the 3-qt/9.5" LeCreuset multifunction pan and couple it with the 4-qt/9.25" Scanpan stock pot. But I like the handiness of this size combo.

can you beat two-for-one le creuset???
I am in love with these two pieces, my first Le Creuset (but not my last!) I love the versatility and the utility of making the lid a pan in its own right. This is a perfect starting set for anyone wanting to explore the Le Creuset brand.

Great Multi purpose pan
This pan arrived as part of a larger set several years ago. Since I got my hands on it I have used it nearly every day and it remains my favorite do everything pan. I have created everything from a delicate cream sauce that would scorch in a stainless steel or aluminum pan to perfect fluffy rice. Puddings from scratch come out perfect and I wouldn't start my ice cream bases without this pan. It took a few tries to learn that cooking with cast iron requires less heat than stainless steel, but once that was figured out, there was no stopping me. The pan is a perfect size for a single person or a couple. When cooking for many more people I often resort to my three quart pan which I don't like as much. Cleaning this pan requires no more effort than any other pan. The skillet top can also be used for terrific grilled cheese sandwiches although there is only room enough for one at a time. I would give up nearly all of my other pans if I could keep just this one.

Great Value
This stir fry pan is a steal with the value that you get for the price. Heats FAST and evenly. The size is just right for a small family (3 in mine), and the pan is gorgeous. I was going to get cuisinart's 10-1/2" stir fry pan, but I'm glad I didn't because I'm not sure it would be big enough for a decent sized stir fried meal.

Great pan
I purchased this stir fry pan to round out my Cuisinart Multiclad collection. The first thing that struck me about this pan is its size -- it's huge! The only problem you may encounter is trying to store this pan in your cabinet. Otherwise, it's an excellent purchase. We usually cook stir fry items and there's plenty of room in the pot to make enough for a large family. The best part is the cleanup. Although it is not non-stick, cleanup was exceptionally easy. Just leave a little bit of water in the pan and come back a few minutes later with a dishcloth and you're done. No scouring needed. The pan is also visually appealing because it has an enormous lid that shines like glass. We love it and you absolutely cannot beat the price.

Excellent quality
This is the best wok/stir fry pan I have ever used and ... it is a great bargain. This thing heats up fast, and is easy to clean. It is a bit heavy and the handle on the cover does get hot but other than that, I have been very happy with it. I use it for stir frying, for making soups, sauces and even for roasting meat in the oven. This is great value for your money.

Great pan
Great pan. It took me a while to figure out how to keep foods from sticking but now I love it. Add a little oil but make sure you don't overheat it, med-to-med hi is good. Put meat in, let it sear and don't touch it until it's completely seared. Then it releases and can be turned over without sticking. It's great for searing steaks or chicken breasts and then putting into oven to finish. Add a little broth, wine and butter to the drippings and you get a great sauce to go with it. Plus it's a great looking pan too.

Plesantly impressed
I had ordered a set of Revere Ware pans from another web site for my daughter and was completely disappointed in the weight and quality of them, so they're on their way back. I just received one of the Cuisinart pans in the set that I ordered for her from Amazon.com today and WOW!!! I love it. So much so, in fact, that I have just ordered myself a set!!!!! She's getting her's tomorrow, the rest should be here by then, and I can't wait to get mine!!!!! I know that it won't be long because her's came within 5 days of the order being placed! Thanks Amazon for a great deal too.

Great Little Pan
We've had this about three months now and use it all the time. The nice, thick bottom helps to distribute heat evenly. It's easy to clean, as there's no place for food to get stuck where you can't get at it. Over all, its nice, solid construction suggests that it's built to last a lifetime. We usually just pick up pans and things like this at second-hand stores because we're cheap, but this is one of those items I'd buy brand new again if the price was right (we got it for ten bucks - a phenomenal deal through Amazon).
