I saw this steamer in an ad in Runner's World and just had to have it. Since going on the South Beach Diet, I've upped my intake of eggs, fish, chicken, and vegetables tremendously. And because I live an extremely active lifestyle, I never have time to wait for things to thaw before cooking. I was defrosting frozen meat and nuking scrambled eggs and frozen vegetables in the microwave everyday when I did some reading and found out that microwaving destroys over 90% of the healthy vitamins and nutrients in foods. Researchers have found that steaming is the best way to preserve nutrients if you have to cook a food.

This steamer gets the job done better than I'd ever hoped. While it does take a little longer to cook with steam than in the microwave or on the stovetop (add 5-15 minutes of cook time), it is a more hassle-free way to prepare food. You don't have to constantly check your food to see if its burning or stir it. No more exploding eggs in the microwave or rice stuck to the bottom of the pan. Just load it up, set the timer, and leave it to cook. For example, I stuck a couple of frozen chicken breasts and a cup of brown rice in, set for 45 minutes, and left to do something else. Halfway through I poured in frozen vegetables and seasoned the chicken and rice. The chicken cooked through perfectly, the vegetables were tender, and the rice was perfect. Hard boiled eggs are easy too.

Clean up afterwards was a breeze. The plastic containers are easy to wash off, but the drip pan fills up quickly and when full is hard to get to the sink to pour out without spilling. Cooking directions and times are approximate, so there is some trial and error involved. But since I love it so far, I will definitely be using it several times a week and get lots of practice. I highly recommend.

Well, at first I was not so sure about this one based on some reviews elsewhere in this site. I have had this machine for only foud days so far and IT IS GREAT!
The first time I got it, I set it for delayed baking. My first loaf. It was fantastic! You REALY, REALLY, REALLY have to read the manual BEFORE YOU BUY IT (find it at Oster.com) and get ALL you need before you start baking: measuring cups (for liquid and dry ingredients), bread flour, yeast, etc. Then you will have absolutely NO problem if you follow the instrucions EXACTLY the way they are written, believe me. The count for me so far is 5 loaves and all perfect and great tasting. Get it!

I received one of these for Christmas and could not believe what a big improvement it is over a regular oven mitt. It is easy to wear and very flexible, gives a much better grip on hot pans. I have since sent some to my parents and am getting more for home (an extra by the stove and one for the backyard BBQ). Like any other mitt, don't use it when wet (causes steam to form where the wet mitt meets the hot pan).

I make a lot of pies and have spill overs all the time! The oven guard has cut my clean up time tremendously! The hole in the bottom lets the oven's heat get to the pan so the bottom crust still cooks and the non stick is really easy to clean. Love it!

My rabbit loves Oxbow hay and it is so good for him! Oxbow is a great company with consistantly quality products. In addition to their Timothy hay, their Bunny Basics-T Pellets are the best in the market. Pellets should be high fiber, low fat and Oxbow surpasses all other brands. I wouldn't feed my rabbit any other brand than Oxbow for hay and pellets.

Nine pounds doesn't sound like much, but believe me, it's a LOT of hay. I have one rabbit about 6-8lbs. He grazes on Timothy Hay all day long and the 9lb bag lasts him almost 6 months. I have two air-tight dog food containers I use to store his hay so it's always fresh when I refill his hay feed bale. Oxbow grows great hay, but make sure you have some air-tight containers to store the unused hay so it doesn't get stale and/or attract bugs.

I just bought this apple corer in a local supermarket. I was using a six blade apple slicer/corer but I had to give it up because the darn thing would slice my fingers up when I pushed out the apple core from the center of the gadget. Now I have this and I love it. With an easy grip handle it makes coring an apple a piece of cake. One push and it's all done. It's not a hard push either. It is very sharp, but unlike the apple corer/slicer, it doesn't cut my fingers to pieces. When the apple is cored cutting it into many cubes or slices is a breeze. It is a very quick job to cut an apple that has been cored.. I think I will give this corer to my friends and let them save their fingers as well. Great product and very functional, it comes out of the dishwasher as sharp as it went in. I would rate this corer 5 stars for functionality and usefulness.

This juicer was the winner in the America's Test Kitchen Equipment Corner. I don't own it...yet.

This has been a very handy cleaner to have at hand whenever my 1- or 2-liter water bottles need a good scrub. It is easy to get all the way down to the very bottom and get all the corners clean. It also doesn't leak the way a lot of these types of scrubbers do and that is fabulous. It is small enough that we simply put it, sponge end up, in our cutlery drainer and it is ready for the next wash. We are buying replacement heads for the unit today because it is a good product that we are happy to have. Thanks Oxo!
