I have had several air machines designs to clean the air in the house to cut down on all sorts of indoor pollution. But living in a very old house you have a lot of dust, so most have the filter run out in a matter of 6 to 8 months. If you have any hepa filter types you know this is the same situation as the printers for your computers. You get the printer for next to nothing, but the ink cartridges cost and arm and a leg! Same with hepa filters. IF you can find them. Why is it when you need one, you can never find the one you want?

I now have a total of 5 of these machines in my house and I could not live without them! It's so amazing. You don't hear a noisy fan going like you do with the other filtering machines. They are totally silent. But ever five foot away, you feel the gentle breeze, smell the beautiful air. I notice the cats really love them. They will get in the path of these breeze and just sit there inhaling the lovely smelling air. They have UV lights to help kill germs. I noticed this year, we got through with no flu (first time in 7 years!). No colds.

Now that allergy season is hitting, they are a must. They are a snap to clean. Just take the core out, wipe down and get rid of the nasty uglies that you would have been breathing.

I did have problems with the machines malfunctioning. But Sharper Image quickly replaced them with new ones, they even paid for the return postage.

ALL of the Vacu Vin products are amazing. We have used the regular size (wine bottle) chillers for years and love them. I was searching for a way to quickly chill Champagne and found that Vacu Vin made one as well! As with all Van Ness products I've used, this enclosed cat pan is very durable, especially the handle on top. I've been able to lift the entire container with a 10+ lbs cat inside without it breaking or bending, not that I recommend doing that too often. I'm sure it has its breaking point. The bottom pan is also tall enough in the event of any accidents caused by high-peeing adult cats, which typically occurs with other open cat boxes. The four clips that hold the cover on are also very durable. On other brands I've used, the clips are usually the first things to go. But on this Van Ness model, it's easy to remove the top for cleaning and refilling the box. It comes with two air filters that fit on the top to prevent excessive odors from escaping, and can be used with liners, like Van Ness Drawstring Catpan Liners #DL7. This box is ideal for cat owners with more than a couple adult cats.

This large-sized litter scoop easily picks up heavy clumps in litter boxes. The sides on it are high enough to hold everything in, plus the slits are wide enough to sift litter through, but not let anything else fall out. This scoop is ideal for multiple-cat litter boxes, or a really big cat. :) I've had some flimsy plastic scoops break at where the handle meets the scoop head, but this one is very durable, even compared to some of the metal scoops I've used. I've been using the same couple of scoops for years now and am very happy with the quality of them. They last a long time and come in a variety of colors (like dark blue and gray).

This large cat litter pan comes in a variety of colors, such as gray and dark blue (the two colors I own). It's tall enough so my adult cats don't mess over the side (at least most of the time), yet it's not too big for kittens. It does what it needs to, plus it's durable and odor and stain resistant.

This is a good buy for cat owners. I own several Van Ness litter pans--I've been using them for several years now--and am very happy with this product, as well as other products by Van Ness.

This flexible, rectangular-ish-shaped plastic mat is great for catching excess litter and whatnot from your cat(s)'s many trips in and out of the litter box. It's shaped wider at the middle where your cat(s) would approximately step in and out of the box. The mat does catch the majority of debris; however, it's not as effective as some of the square-shaped mats I've seen, which are able to catch more.

It is relatively easy to clean (you can just fold the mat and toss the litter back into the pan), though the short porcupine-like nubs may prove to be difficult if your cat(s) leave(s) something in between them. This mat is ideal for covered cat boxes, not open ones, since the mat would only catch things on one side. Also, the mat does skid on most surfaces, so it'd be best to tuck the top inch or so under the litter box to prevent it from moving around. All in all, this is a good mat to own if you want to keep the floor outside of your cat(s)'s litter box clean.

This is the greatest saucier around. I know it's expensive, but in this particular case, you get what you pay for. Even heating, perfect control, easy clean. This is exactly what you want in this type of pan. Buy it. Really.
