I thought this ironing board was a little costly, but I liked the design so I bought it. I have never been more satisfied with an ironing board in my life. The ergodynamic design is great not only for you, but also your clothes. Make sure to get a really good non-stick iron to go along with it.

I have always been a fan of German engineering and was suprised that they surpass others in Ironing board manufacturing also. God job Hailo! This is not only a unique design for an ironing board, but the construction is very stable. Its Ergonomic and great to look at even! I love the little animal paw pattern on the cloth. No matter what happens, an ironing board will teetor and sway, but with this one its hardly noticeable. It has a knob on one leg where you can adjust the board upto 5 degrees. That was very helpful. The board does not have as good a grip on carpet as it does on hard flooring which makes sense as the rubber on the base grips better. But its barely noticeable. I give this product 5 stars for the design, construction, durability and strength. You wont see this product on chain store shelves. Its the BMW of ironing boards.

I have alot of unused space in strange little corners of my house, and one such place is the entryway to my basement. Therefore, it is a great spot for storing such everyday items as dog collars and leashes, and common kitchen items like mops, brooms, dust pans, and this handy little iron board device. Leaving it up isdn't an option with fopur dogs lumbering around, so storing it within reach is really the best policy.

That said, one finds that the assembly of the holder is straight-forward and easy to use. The top of the holder has the added benefit of being designed to hold your iron, but thee thought of having fall on me or someone else makes me store it in a kitchen cabinet instead. The hooks placed on the board holder will easily accomodate either a t-shaped ironing board leg arrangement or alternatively, a V-shaped board. included in the kit that comes with the set-up are all the necessary attachments, including plastic screw mounts. Since I have tongue-in-groove pine boards lining the entryway to the basement, I used some steel screws for mounting instead. This is a handy and inexpensive item, and one that helps to control the clutter in the kitchen area. Enjoy!

It's funny, but a lot of people I know (including me!) don't like the looks of the ironing board left standing, with the iron ready to go. (I guess it is a kind of unpleasant reminder that you really SHOULD iron that dress shirt.)

On the other hand, what a pain to drag the board out every time you need to do a touch-up. So a nice compromise is to set up this ironing board wall mount in the laundry room.

The assembly of the holder is very easy. The top of the holder is designed to store your iron. The hooks on the board holder can accommodate both t-shaped ironing board legs, or the V-shaped ones. The kit includes some plastic screw mounts for use on dry wall, but if you have a very heavy board and iron, or no studs where you intend to hang this, it might be better to drill in some toggle bolts first before you mount this. Toggle bolts are available at any hardware store. You push them into a drilled hole and the arms on the bolts extend inside the wall to spread out the load.

There are some very attractive ironing board covers out there, so put a cheery new one on the board and hang it on the wall for ready use.

I had been using an old ironing board cover for years and this new one is quite a relief. It stays put well and the colorful design makes even ironing a cheery experience.

Sturdy: minimal to no wabbling. Broader surface area: great for just laundered fabric for dressmaking. Iron cord holder: rather than getting tangled along fabric or your self. Place for iron: rather than on the surface you are ironing. Better yet I paid $19.00 for it at Goodwill!

I bought this ironing board at Target about a year ago. It's wonderful -- I ironed curtains, made a historical costume and was able to press the seams on a huge antebellum skirt with great ease. HOWEVER...when I needed a new cover, I cannot find one. I have searched the web, been to all kinds of different sites, been to every place I can think of (back to Target, Lowe's, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc.) and cannot find a 53x18 cover. Plenty of 48x18, but not the big one. I'm going to Europe this spring, so maybe I can stumble upon one there. Great board, but don't use starch because you cannot get a new cover for the board and the old one is not washable.

Despite all of its excellent features, I cannot recommend the Polder Model No. 90455 Hometools (tm) Deluxe Ironing Board. Unless of course, you want an ironing board that teeters and rocks while you're ironing.

One of the four legs has an adjustable length -- at its tip is a red knurled plastic ring you can turn to make the leg longer or shorter. The problem is that even at its shortest adjustment, the leg is about 1/4" or 3/8" too long and it's enough to lift one of the other legs off the floor by about 1/4" or 3/8". Your only recourse is to find something to put under the non-adjustable leg rendered too short by this too-lengthy adjustable leg.

Otherwise it's a good ironing board with sturdy construction. The top is made out of a very heavy expanded steel mesh through which steam can readily pass -- which is what you want while ironing. As your iron steams, the steam can pass through the garment and the ironing board cover and pad and right through the table top, so copious amounts of steam go through the fabric you're ironing. There's a convenient iron rest added to the length of the table top that securely holds the iron when at rest, and there's a built in cord minder resemblying a whip antenna with a spring at its base. The iron cord is held up and out of the way so you don't find yourself ironing over the cord, and as you move the iron toward the tapered end of the ironing board, the "antenna" bends horizontal to allow the cord to reach, yet takes up the slack when the iron is moved back to the nontapered end of the board. There's even an extension cord riveted to the underside of the table -- you plug the extension cord into the electrical outlet and plug the iron in under the top of the ironing board. There's a problem here, too, in that nothing is provided to wind up the cord and hold it in place when not in use. I added a couple of stick-on plastic hooks to make a "cord winder." They should include one...

The board is sturdy, no rocking, good surface. I purchased this board because I liked the cord-minder feature. However, it broke during the first use. It will either stand upright or it stays flopped down on the board. In other words it is useless. If not for that I would have given the board a 5 star.

I really like this ironing board. Unlike the previous reviewer, I thought that it was in fact a very firm board, well made and quite sturdy. I found that I was able to iron my clothes very well on it.

All in all, I'd recommend this ironing board to anyone else.

This poorly designed and constructed pad has built in wrinkles
resulting in ironed in wrinkles. Polder doesn't even list their address, phone number, or email address on the packaging,
making it impossible for me to locate them in Canada. I've tried Yahoo and Google Search Engines. This was a present, so I would not consider advising and disappointing the gift giver.
The folded bed sheets that I had been using are back in service!

This is a nice item, but the size appears to be too large for my ironing board. There is no easy way to adjust the bottom portion to fit my particular situation. I do like the surface and the pattern makes me happy. I think it will be OK once I figure out how to attach it better...

You may want to read the description carefully, and not the contradicting "product description".

We spent over $20 w/ shipping for this item and thought we were getting an ironing board...nope. Just a stupid cover.

This is the description for the item we purchased:

"Product Description Features extra wide 18" ironing surface with solid construction for added stability. Frame is chrome plated 1" steel tubing and includes durable foam underlay pad. It has a built in underside clothes rack & a reversible iron rest. Replacement Cover available. Item 635 is not available at our store locations."

That sounds like an ironing board to me...apparently, it's just a cover. I don't see the 1" steel tubing on the cover, but I'll keep looking.

Stupid online purchases...someday we'll learn.
