you might get your goose cooked too
Best Kitchen Appliance I've BoughtEverything cooks much faster than in a conventional oven, and you use less marinade and basting sauces than you would in a conventional oven or BBQ grill. The Junior is the perfect size for 1 or 2 people. Buy the black, as the white has discolored a bit from the heat.
You can quiet the noise referred to in a previous review by placing a drop or two of cooking oil on the gears inside the oven, and where the spit rests (the factory told us this).
Best kitchen appliance, any one could have!!!!!!!!!!!!and anything else I can think of.It makes cooking a pieace of cake...
It also cooks in half the time."You set it and forget it".
Meanwhile, you can take a break while dinner is on the way.
But don't forget to buy the black or silver as the white discolors from the heat......and if the spin rods make alittle noise just rub some cooking oil on it and your on your way to a delicious meal.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS APPLIANCE I KNOW I DO.

Just big enough for wings
Presto Fry Daddy JuniorIt is a little small, but that's fine for our two-person family. Im also not a big fan of the plastic top, which I worry might become disformed or burned over time if replaced on the unit before it has completely cooled.
The spatula also leaves something to be desired, but since the real product is the fryer itself, I wouldn't knock it, but I would recommend a more solid utensil, one with a much longer handle and a deeper scoop, if you don't have one already.

Beware of fungusThis thing makes good-tasting rice but it's a hassle to clean if you had something erupt in it. I got lazy after doing a few rice porridges and this morning I turned it on and pretty soon the whole house smelled like smelly socks! It took me awhile to figure out it came from the cooker. Turns out there's all this dark green mushy mold/fungus growth right under where the steam vent is. I've been popping out the inner lid and rinsing it but the last couple times didn't go after the cover underneath the removable inner lid and I think that's the reason the stuff festered and grew. So do be aware of this and be sure to clean the thing thoroughly each time you use it. Personally, the simpler rice cookers seem to fit my needs better since I'm just looking for a device to cook delicious rice and is simple to clean and maintain.
Different, but still goodBack when I was growing up we made delicious rice, rice porridge, steamed sausage over rice, steamed chicken and vegetables in broth, bean soup, etc. using the simple one button rice cooker. The trick for some of the dishes is to run the cook cyle twice to cook longer.
I mention all this to explain why just having a rice cooker cooking different things doesn't totally impress me. I'm used to having one that is simple to use and versatile.
With this background, I was a little bit disappointed in the ZAC10 rice cooker although I still think it is an excellent product.
This neuro fuzzy is CUTE. And it makes DELICIOUS oatmeal. It also makes cheaper rice taste better. The keep warm feature works perfectly -- no making a crust. I use the timer feature for oatmeal in the morning - very nice to have.
But it is also awfully SLOW. I'm used to the rice cooker cooking faster than the stovetop method but this one is just as slow if not slower. For 1 small cup of rice it takes 40+ minutes. The machine I grew up with took 20 minutes. Even the quick cook feature on this machine takes 30 minutes.
Theoretically you can't use this as a steamer according to the Ultimate Rice Cooker cookbook I also bought. That's too bad since I am used to steaming things in a rice cooker. I will play around with it though and see if that's really the case.
I am still torn about whether to get this for my motherinlaw this Xmas. She loves oatmeal but cooked in milk so the timer feature won't help her. But still, it makes delicious oatmeal without her having to stand and stir. And it keeps it warm for a long time. What's making me hesitate is that she doesn't eat rice that often and the buttons in the front are rather daunting. (It really isn't as complicated as it looks though) Also the manual has no good recipes. It doesn't even tell you if you can make oatmeal with milk or not in it. (You can.) On the web they have some and if I were to get this for her I would definitely print out some recipes to go with it. This would be an expensive gift not to be used.
If you eat rice alot or like rice, oatmeal, porridge, that kind of thing... a rice cooker is a must and this one is a great one. Just realize that if you're use to a one button rice cooker you'll be giving up simplicity.
This thing is incredible! We've had this a few months now. Let me tell you this thing makes it 'delicious' every time. It's great.
We love the rice from it (we have tried white, mixed, and brown).
What's more this makes DELICIOUS oatmeal!!!! We tried the 'instant oats' in it, and those are way too mushy for our taste -- very creamy. I suppose if you like it like that, it's OK -- but we don't. At the same time I bought the cooker, I bought a rice cooker cookbook from Amazon at the same time, and it said for oatmeal to use 'steel cut oats' (also called pinhead oats) in the rice cooker. My goodness!!! What a difference. The steel cut oats have wonderful flavor, and a much firmer, much more delicious texture. We some cinnamon, brown sugar, maybe some dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, whatever), and maybe a touch of ground nutmeg, and WOW! Wake up in the morning with incredible oatmeal smell in the air - it's heaven. The porridge setting makes the oatmeal virtually perfect every time (You MUST read the instruction book first -- it looks complicated but after you actually use the rice maker a couple times it's really easy!!)
Anyway -- I've never written a review here before, but after buying this rice cooker I just had to. When I ask my wife "Want oatmeal in the morning"? usually I get the response "Yummy! I'd love it."
We both love this rice cooker with it's fuzzy logic that makes porrige and rice taste great. I highly recommend it.
To those (very few) people that don't like it I say "READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE USING!!" And to the person that said it's hard to clean - BS. This thing is so easy to clean. Pop the inner lid out and rinse or wash it, and pop the inner bowl in the dishwasher and you're ready to go for the next day.
I just set the rice cooker for oatmeal at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Know what? I'm going to wake up to a delicious, healthful breakfast. My thanks to all the previous reviewers who gave this good reviews.
This thing is great.

This is a great machine
Awesome!!!This machine is awesome!! Not only does it make a perfect pot of rice every time, but having the different settings makes it so much more than just a rice cooker. The first morning I owned it, I used it to make the best oatmeal I've EVER had (the steel-cut kind, not the instant)! It's very well designed, easy to use, and very easy to clean thanks to it's non-stick cooking pot. It also has an extended keep-warm function, which keeps rice warm and yummy for up to 12 hours. The timer function is a nice touch, too - I can program it in the morning when I leave for work, and when I get home my rice is waiting!
If you're looking for a rice cooker that will last a very long time, this one's a great investment.
the perfect pot of riceThe instruction manual that comes with the machine leaves a lot to be desired, however if you have a good recipe book like "The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook", the possibilies are endless.
In regard to the review about the machine being difficult to clean-I don't understand that comment. The inner lid pops out and you're supposed to clean it after each use- always comes clean for me and I use the cooker to make oatmeal which always makes a lovely gooey mess.
I've used the machine since July at least 6 times a week and I absolutely love it. My advice to anyone having trouble... file the instruction manual and buy "The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook". Problem solved.

A Cook's Dream MachineThe accompanying video can only be watched by people who take food equipment seriously; other family members had to be asked to leave the room during the viewing, as there was much giggling about the over-earnest instructions. Nevertheless, I picked up some fabulous tips about using the Cuisinart, and recommend you sit (alone, or with a true believer) and watch it beginning to end.
The surface of the machine is very easy to clean, and Cuisinart recommends the dishwasher for the bowl and blades. Do be careful with the latter--Cuisinart should really include the disk holder, as it is dangerous to leave these accessories lying around in a kitchen drawer.
This is the third food processor I have owned, and though I mourned the demise of my trusty Panasonic (rated highly by Consumer Reports ten years ago), with this high-end Cuisinart I have "been to Paree" and have no intention of going back to the farm. If you do any industrial-strength cooking, or if you (like me) are sold on using a food processor as a high-powered, self-contained unit for basic mixing duties, this is a wonderful accomplice in your prandial ventures. Bravo Cuisinart!
A Marvel Of A Machine!First of all, you can knead French bread dough in just 40 seconds!
You can use a Cuisinart FP for almost every recipe, but I've written just a few Rules of Thumb (tips) that I have found to be tried and true!
Kneading
White Bread: The 14-cup model will do recipes up to 6 cups of white flour (2 large French Bread loaves). Add your bread recipe ingredients (with half of the white bread flour listed in the recipe) to the work bowl, process to make a smooth batter. Add the rest of the flour, 1 cup at a time (with the last 1/2 cup through the feed tube) until the dough collects and starts to clean the sides of the bowl. Then count to 40, to dough perfection.
Wheat Bread: I've found that 3-cup whole-wheat flour recipes are best suited for this size of model (1 large loaf) since 100% whole wheat is twice as heavy white bread flour.
Rolls: Process until the dough collects and cleans the sides of the bowl, then count for 30 seconds.
Pasta or Tortillas recipes: Process and knead until the dough collects and cleans the sides of the bowl. Chilling the dough in plastic wrap for 30-60 minutes makes rolling much easier.
Piecrusts: Cutting in the fat, is simplified in a Cuisinart. Using very cold butter slices in place of shortening, rivals the best tasting crusts too. FYI: Don't process the dough to a dough ball, just PULSE until the mixture pinches together easily between your fingers. Dump the contents onto wax paper, then form dough into a ball and knead a few times by hand (adding a teaspoon of water or two, as needed). Wrap the pastry ball in plastic and chill for an hour for easy rolling.
Quick Breads: Add recipe ingredients and PULSE, just until the flour barely disappears. Scrape out contents into greased pans.
Enjoy your Cuisinart Purchase!
Warmly,
Sharon Anne

Cuisinart PowerPrep 14 Cup-I am very much impressed with it. I have made the Challah bread, corn bread and cinnamon buns from the recipe book that came with it. The machine did an excellent job and the results were wonderful.
I would definitely recommend this Cuisinart food processor

Love this freezer!
almost let bad review influence me ...all you have to do is follow the directions and turn the handle a few times, every few minutes. plenty of time to add extra ingredients without the problems one user has posted. maybe if you have some super-cold freezer, ice cream could stick to the sides very quickly but with our freezer on high, we haven't had any problems. the bucket is easy to clean, too. parts are very durable (i've already dropped the lid, and didn't crack it) ...
no ice, no salt, _quiet_, no electricity. no moving parts to break, nothing to wear out. don't think it's hard work, either. just a few cranks every couple of minutes. if you're thinking about buying this ice cream maker, go for it. i'm glad i did.
We all scream...The ice cream only gets soft-frozen, but if you throw the finished batch in the freezer for a few hours, it gets hard- frozen. Word of warning: when I first got this, it would barley fit into my studio apartment mini-freezer and I couldn't get anything to get anything but slushy. I since have moved and have a full-sized freezer and it freezes just fine now. It's not very big, but it's not practical unless you have a full sized freezer.

"The George" packs a wallopBefore I took the suggestion of another Amazon reviewer of placing moistened paper towels between the grilling surfaces to soften cooking residue, clean-up was a horrible onus that took way too much time, elbow grease and cussing, because I had foolishly allowed the stuck-on mess to congeal and harden. The paper towel method is ingenious, it works great, and I can't recommend it enough.
It's easy to see why Consumers Digest named the George Foreman grill a "Best Buy" two years running. For versatility, ease of use and reliability, I also give it my highest mark.
great for different types of food able to cook together
Thank you, George Foreman!I have had this grill for over a year and can honestly attest this is the best hundred bucks I have ever plucked down. Already I have made hamburgers in a jiffy, grilled salmon, shrimp and boneless chicken breasts. This may seem like nothing to you, but for someone who regarded Shredded Wheat as a gourmet meal, this grill has put a huge smile on my face, not to mention my husband, who is dancing a jig whenever the cooking aroma wafts his way.
Using the grill really is as easy as the infomercials claim. Grab your hamburger patties, sprinkle on some seasoning, pluck them down on the grill, close the lid and six minutes later you have a perfectly cooked burger. I was in ecstasy the first time I tasted one of my creations. No longer am I the most cooking challenged human being on the planet, I am giving Julia Childs a run for her money. God bless George Foreman, this product is fantastic. If you're a novice cook or a pro, you can't go wrong with this product.

Mom from MaineI don't know this for a fact, of course, but I'm guessing that maybe the people that have had a hard time cleaning the basket have waited maybe a little to long to clean it??? I clean my juicer just as soon as we have had our juice, or drink my juice while cleaning (takes only 5-10 minutes start to finish and is well worth doing it right away!) Since the pulp is still wet it doesn't stick at all! If you wait until the pulp has dried, then you are in for a tougher cleaning job!
I have had this juicer for well over a year now and it still works and looks great! I honestly can't think of one thing about it that I don't like. My kids love helping me make the juice and love the taste of what comes out of it. I don't think they realize they are drinking something good for them!
P.S. I had a cheaper model and returned it for this one! I'm very glad I did!
we love it!!I'm glad we did. It's so much better. We use it every day and make looooooots of juice. It juices all fruits and veggies with no problem but it's true, the pulp is not so dry as I would like to see it, but for the money I think it's the best buy.

Great little egg cooker! The water measuring device is rather confusing. My husband (who uses the cooker all the time) thought he was making soft boiled eggs the other day, but accidentally made them hard boiled because of the way the device is labeled. However, those hard boiled eggs were PERFECT! When you do use the measuring device correctly you get wonderful results. I have been very pleased when cooking hard, medium, or soft boiled eggs. I didn't like the results when I made an "omlette", but that is a matter of personal taste - I'd rather have an omlette made in a pan. I have yet to poach in it, so no opinion yet.
The size is another plus - it is very compact. Great for small kitchens. And the cord wraps around the base for storage. This is a great feature, yet the little "bumps" to keep the cord in place actually make it a little difficult to unwind when you want to use it. A little annoying, but if you just twist the cord a little so it is horizontal it is much easier.
My main source of disappointment has been with the non-stick coating on the cooker. I have had it since June, and within the first week the coating started to bubble. I clean it after each use according to the directions, yet it keeps getting worse. And for some reason the feet of the platform on which you place your eggs to cook have also bubbled/burned a little bit. I have no idea why, and it hasn't yet affected the performance.
Pros: Compact, perfect eggs every time, cord wraps for even easier storage, easy clean-up
Cons: Confusing water measurer, nasty non-stick coating, hard to unwrap the cord
Great Little Egg Cooker
As Reliable as a Good Laying Hen!I found the water measuring device somewhat confusing. The machine works on the principle that once the water surround the eggs is all boiled away, then the eggs will be done. You adjust the time the machine cooks the eggs by adjusting the amount of water. I've messed with trying different types of cooking, and came up with a fairly good soft-boiled egg. I had to experiment a little to get it, though. Plus, I live on the Gulf Coast; someone living in Denver would probably have to wait a little longer because of the difference in atmospheric pressure. There are two little poaching pans included with the appliance, but I've never used them. When the eggs are done, a buzzer will sound to tell you to come get them. This feature has worked perfectly on mine; if it didn't I'd take it back and exchange it.
As I stated earlier, the unique feature of this particular cooker is its extremely compace size. The other cookers I looked at were either carousel-round or square, taking up much more space. This little jewel fits perfectly in an overhead cabinet, taking up no more room than a small plastic container. Plus, all the parts fit inside the lid to store! Additionally, the unit is easy to clean, at least for me.
I travel a lot, and like to take a few hard-boiled eggs in my cooler for road food. This appliance is perfect for that. Highly recommended as an inexpensive gift.
