Junk
I received this as a gift and like the others, the motor lasted a few months and then died.
I know of blenders that have lasted for YEARS, not months.
I would highly recommend purchasing another blender rather than this disposable choice.

Complete junk!
The review says this blender has a plastic jar - does the blender in the picture look like it has a plastic jar? Anyways, I'm pretty sure I bought this model. Like the other reviewers said the motor died in just a couple months - avoid it!

In fact it was returned and I got the similar 52200 model (which is what the picture here looks like). Neither blender was good at chopping frozen items like fruit or ice. Plus I put it in the dishwasher, the blades rusted shut and (again) I fried the motor. I only ran it for a second or two and immediately I knew there was a problem, but that's all it took for this garbage. Again, it happened in less than a couple months.

You may do well to avoid Hamilton Beach brand blenders altogether. I know I will.

But why would I buy it here?
Why would I pay for shipping and handling, on top of an inflated price, when I can go grab one from the store for $19.99?

I wouldn't.

When gimmicks don't work
Looked nice, heavy base, seemed powerful enough, stirring stick was a good idea, but the big disappointment was that the spigot dripped, no, leaked. Too much mess, extra work. If gimmicks aren't foolproof, they ruin an otherwise good product.

Don't buy it!
Not worth your time or money. It WILL break, no doubt. Ours lasted 8 hours out of the box and only 4 smoothies. It has the same fault as every other review. Looks nice, but is not a good product.

Works great until it beaks
I've used mine 3 or four times and the stirring stick started to come apart the first time I used it. It completely broke the last time I used it. Now the handle on the jar has broken off. I am taking it back before it completely comes apart!

Obvious Design Flaw
My black rotating gear broke today after 2 years of occassional use. While this blender functions excellently (when working) and is designed well, it has an obvious design flaw in which the gear will eventually fail - sooner or later! Thanks to all who wrote reviews, I will not have it repaired. I only wish I had read these reviews before purchasing this item. To those of you who are still happy, you too, will have the gear fail. SHAME ON CUISINART FOR NOT FIXING THIS FLAW.

Great blender
I bought a brand new unit with the food processor attachment for about 7 month now and I just love it.
I¡¦ve used it at least three time a week since then to prepare fruit shakes and cocktails and I have not experienced the problem other reviewers had. The black piece that turns the blade is still in good condition.
Compare with my previous $25 Hamilton Beach blender, this one is much better. If operating correctly, it is impossible to make this blender leak and the glass jar sits on the motor base nicely and easily. Noise wise, I consider it pretty quiet, again comparing with the other blender that I had. Also, the push buttons are water proof for easy cleaning!

Great Reconditioned Product
Purchased it reconditioned from Amazon a couple of months ago, it works great. It looks brand new, not one single flaw. Fantastic value for a great product. Recommended!!!

So far, so good
I just got this blender and it works much better than the Osterizer that I replaced. I mostly use it for smoothies and it works great, no need to stir by hand or push the ice down, just put in the ingredients and let it rip. Consumer Reports rates this blender highly (the highest of any with touch pad controls). I just found the other reviews about reliability, I'm hoping for better luck. (Oops, it quit working after 2 months)

Great Blender
This is a great Blender. I have read reviews here that state that they were dissapointed that it was plastic. If it would have came with true chrome metal it would have became discolored in no time due to the fact that it gets wet so much. This is a great blender, it crushed ice very well, and it doesn't bog down when I blend thick things such as shakes, etc. . . I am very satisfied with this blender, and will consider Cuisinart items in the future.

I've never spent this much money on a kitchen appliance....
... but i must say, I'm never buying a 30 dollar blender ever again. This thing is incredible. It does everything, and it cleans pretty easily too. I haven't had a problem with crushing ice as some others seem to have, but I don't do it that often.

My only complaint is that the chrome model really isn't that chrome at all. You'd think for the extra dough you'd get something that's really chrome... but this blender is just PAINTED chrome. Yessirree. It's plastic.

This blender burned down my room
This blender was plugged in in my room. It then exploded, and destroyed all of my possessions which cannot be replaced. Do not buy this blender.

Quickly broke under ordinary use
After only a half-dozen uses, the the round white piece that connects the glass pitcher part to the base, called the "jar base," cracked, making a mess and rendering the blender useless.

black and decker
I have purchased 2 of these blenders and I am sorry to say it was a BIG mistake!!! We had to by a new ring for it within 2 months and then the blade assembly cracked. so we bought a new one and less then 4 months later the new one also had the blade assembly cracked... Very shoddy blenders!!!!

Like throwing away money
On the second time using this, the base shattered because I was trying to crush ice. I bought the Hamilton Beach BlendMaster, which is plastic, and it is not only cheaper, but it has never leaked and blends ice with ease. It's a good thing too, because I put a LOT of use into it.

Okay at first
We used this blender for a lot of smoothies & crushing ice. We received it as a gift a year ago, but just sold it at a garage sale for $5 which I was happy about. It seemed that the blades got dull quickly and just wasn't that great after a few months of use, which was probably only 30 times or so. The way it is built just doesn't seems to help bring down things in the blender, it just pushes them up so you have to stop it and shake it or move stuff around to get it to chop up anything. After awhile we also had black plastic dust getting worn off of the base and liquid leaking through the bottom, but a new ring would probably have taken care of the leak. I'm looking forward to buying something a little nicer!

Wonderful
We asked for this for our wedding it works great i had no problems with it and I love that the base locks...

Don't buy it
We had this blender for about 1 year and maybe used it a dozen times, before it stopped working. No know reason. Very unhappy with the product as our previous blender, which was another brand, worked well for a much longer period of time.

One star is generous for this blender
This blender worked pretty well for four months, although it had a tough time making a really smooth "smoothie." At four months, the black gear mechanism that connects the blade setup to the motor spun right off the base. Cuisinart sent me another blender, but only after they received the defective one back, a process which took almost a month. Most companies will send you the replacement, then ask you to box up the defective one for them to pick up. The replacment blender base had plastic that was so badly warped it could not sit on the counter. We had to repeat the tedious month-long process. The third blender broke as the first after just two weeks. The customer service process did not improve this time. I did not want another of these blenders, so asked for a credit to obtain a Cuisinart non-appliance. At least this was granted. I won't be purchasing another Cuisinart appliance based on their poor service alone.

Be warned!
This is a really lame blender. I got it to make smoothies... that's it! You'd think it'd be able to do that job with no problem. But it doesn't.

The two chopping options don't really do the ice-crushing and smoothie-blending properly. You have to stop the thing and stir the ingredients around a couple times then restart it to get things blended. Even then it doesn't work as well as my old blender. Then, when you go to pour the contents into a glass, you get lots of messy spills, etc. because the spout is not designed very well.

Overall: not great. Spend the $$ and get one that does the job.

Very Disappointed
I received this for my birthday as I was looking for a good smoothie and iced coffee machine. I was very dissapointed. It has great difficulty crushing ice and is extremely loud and noisy. It takes a long time to mix up anything in it. It also has to be washed by hand and not in the dish washer. I wish I'd picked a different machine.

Not made to last
After about a dozen delicious smoothies this machine stopped working and the Back to Basics company was not helpful in addressing the problem. There were many phone calls and unanswered e-mails. We sent it back for repair twice and it still doesn't work. In fact, the company sent it back missing a part. From our experience this machine is a piece of junk put out by an unresponsive company. But those first few smoothies were wonderful. They need to rethink this product. In the meantime, don't waste your money.

Smoothie maker
I received a Smoothie Pro 600 as a gift. It worked great for this first couple of months, then I noticed that the gear wheels on the base motor and the container were wearing down. They are so worn down, contact is not being made between them, so the smoothie maker is useless. Poor quality.

in the trash
I had enough of this S^&*T yesterday! It doesn't crush, it smells like burnt motor when I use it and it just plainly sucks. I was making icecream and it has a HARD TIME blending milk and tofu! poor quality machine...It is in trash...

It leaks
I have it for about a year, but I use it very seldom.
Crushes ice, frozen berries, apples, etc - excellent. Mixing perfect and blends great. However it leaks badly, hard to clean and replacement parts are impossible to find.

It Makes Me Breakfast!
This power engine blade "puppy" mixes a banana, 2 scoops of sugar-free fat-free ice cream, and Slim-Fast together for me in the morning. I'm a 41 year old widow making breakfast for myself now easily with the BL600. This blender is loud, but that's OK as it wakes me up!

Easy to use smart design, But terible product.
This blender did virtually nothing for me. I use my blenders on daily basis. I use them to make protein drinks. So I did not even use this one with ice. First of all I have used to make a protein drinks with milk , my protein powder of choice and frozen fruit. This blender would never, even once completely blend the fruit. After I would pour my drink in the glass there were allways chunks of fruit left in the bottom of the jar. After about 5 weeks of use the blender stopped working completely. Just a piece of junk. But it was a lesson not to be cheap. Before that Krups power exptreme, which was damaged by liquid that got insite of the motor because my sister forgot to put the seal back in blender after she washed it. But the power of krups is great, Today i am back with Krups. yes they had some new models since, but i bought the same model I had before. I sugest that you buy a belender that has 400 + watts of power and jar with at least 40 oz. I have noticed that blenders that have large multiple blades work alot better as well. I give the product just one star for good design and ease of use .Hope that the folks at HB will read this too.

This blender [is bad]
I have this blender, and I hate it! The first problem was that the motor burnt out within days of buying the blender. I had to sent it to the manufacturer for a replacement. Also, it has many more parts to take apart and wash than any other blender I've seen. The lid is difficult to put on, so I often get leaks. Ditto with the bottom. The torque from the blending has actually caused the blender bottom to unscrew twice. Big huge mess. It does not crush ice well at all. Even ice in smoothies stay as big chunks. Did I mention that I hate this blender? I'm going to buy a Waring classic bar blender with the on/off toggle switch. In my experience, the more dials and settings, the worse the blender.
