Waste of money
I bought one of these last summer. It lasted about 2 weeks with infrequent use. I called the company and they sent me a replacement part which lasted 1 use. I was just making smoothies and not doing anything heavy-duty with it...not even using fruit and only a few 1/2 size ice cubes at a time. In my opinion they should recall this Smoothie Pro as defective in design. The motor is too powerful for the construction of the blade assembly. Perhaps my bad experience with this can save someone else from wasting money.

Great Ice Crusher, POOR Quality Product
I have had this item for about 2 months. It crushes ice realy well and the pour spout is convient. But that is where it stops. The pour spout was convient until the tab broke. It is completely plastic and very flimsy. Not 2 days later the blade housing stripped and now is completly ineffective. The motor runs fine but is useless without a blade to be turned. With 700 watts you would think that they would realize that plastic is not the best answer. I would not recommend this to anyone unless some changes were made!

A lot of power and a lot of noise
It makes nice smoothies but the 700 watts of power creates too much noise. The noise was so loud that at first I thought something was wrong with the unit. The loud noise makes you think twice before using it. They should issue ear plugs with each unit. The retaining nut for the blades vibrated loose and leaked all over the unit. The plastic housing and pitcher gives it a cheap quality look. I would be surprised if this unit last more than one year with light use.

Blender has very little power
I bought this blender to make smoothies with and it is just awful. The motor gets hot and it doesn't seem to blend very well it gets stuck a lot.

It had no power, and it broke!
I had this product for a year and just threw it away two days ago. I only used it for smoothies, but even that, it couldn't handle. It had no power, easily got stained (watermelon), took forever to crush ripe bananas, and it leaked; not to mention it occassionally refused to work for no reason. Three days ago I took it out for strawberry milk shake (fresh strawberries, not frozen ones), it wouldn't start. I tried several times, waited over night, and tried it again, it still didn't move. We finally decided to ditch it for good.

It makes a perfect wedding gift if you really don't like the bride. She will get the idea when she uses it.

I bought this for use with crafts
For the price, it does an ok job. It's not very powerful though, and before I used it for craft items, I tried making some cranberry relish in it. It couldn't handle the frozen cranberries, so I had to stop and put everything back into my other blender.

For light and easy use, and for my purposes it is fine though. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who needs to crush ice or do much heavy blending.

It's made with plastic mostly, and I doubt it will last very long because of that. The blades are steel, but the turning mechanisms are not.

Hope this is helpful for someone.

Don't Waste Your Money On This
I bought one of these thinking it would be the last blender I would ever have to buy. I just returned it. I never even got a chance to use the processor because I've used the blender 2x to make drinks for a party and it leaked all over the counter both times. I tightened, turned, slowed the speed...nothing helped. Don't waste your money.

blender ok, processor stinks
I do not have this exact model, but I purchased the food processor attachment for the Power X Plus, which is now discontinued. However, the attachment seems to be exactly the same. It is a royal pain to get on and off the blender base--there is a little lever underneath the processor that needs to be pulled to one side to fit over the base. But you can't see it and it pinches your fingers every time. Also, after using the food processor only a handful of times and washing it in the dishwasher, the lid began to form cracks. So, we went to handwashing. In a little less than a year, even with handwashing, a large crack develeped in the bowl. Just last week I got my last use out of the thing and had to throw it away.
Although the motor is powerful, the blender holds plenty liquid, and I love the convenience of a combination appliance, I will not be replacing this unit with another krups.

why would anyone buy this?
For a Waring blender, the price seems ridiculous for what it's selling. It comes with a PLASTIC container and LOW power. Although I understand that this blender was made for outdoors, I don't think any professional would actually use this nor do I think it's a smart idea to be blending outdoors - don't you got better things to do then have a portable kitchen outdoors? In any case, a blender with such low power and a plastic container seems unworthy to be called a Waring blender. It defeats the purpose of buying from this company.

Low power is to be expected at 12 Volts
It does an average job with crushing ice to make frozen drinks. It can't be compared to a 125 volt AC blender however.
You get a few small chunks of ice in the drink.I had to buy a manual ice crusher to crush the ice first then you get the consistency most people like .This is as good as it gets for outdoor drink making unlees you go to the gas powered blenders.(That's next )

You'll be lucky to get 20 uses
My problem was not the rubber gasket(washer that goes between the jar and the plastic ring with blade assembly, that keeps the jar from leaking), but the rubber drive (the groved ring that grips the underside of the blade asembly and makes it spin. When I first used the machine and noticed this part was made of rubber I was surprised and queried its durability. However I dismissed that concern because I thought a company like Krups would not use a flimsy material on such an important part. I was wrong! After maybe 15 uses, the gripping ridges of this rubber drive have completely ground down(turned to rubber dust), so that when it spins when the machine is on, the blade assembly can no longer spin. It has basically become a round peg in a star shaped hole. You may not understand what I mean until you examine one for yourself. I have since looked at this part on other brands of blenders and all the ones I've looked at, from the cheapest to the most expensive, use a hard plastic material for this part. All except Krups, that is! I am very disappointed that this machine has met my early fears, because I did like it during my initial use. I would also like to point out that although this machine has an ice crushing feature I only used it once and the wear that occurred happened while blending mainly sorf, run of the mill items, soups etc.; nothing taxing, yet it couldn't survive even that. The 1 star is mainly for styling and initial use, otherwise it deserves 0 for its absurd lack of durability, which was very obvious to me on my first examination of it. I cannot imagine why Krups' designers would use soft rubber for this part. It's a nobrainer!

You guessed it ... Gasket woes
Received it as a wedding gift. After 5 months of making mixed drinks the gasket became part of one of the drinks and I'm on the search for a replacement. Seemed good for drinks although the blades don't always create a good mixing vortex.(mixes just the bottom contents of the carafe on some drinks)

DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER
I have three extra gaskets for the previous reviewers. My problem is the blade in my blender has stopped spinning even though the motor works. I paid $100 dollars for this blender not two years ago and used it maybe once a week to make smoothies. (It worked great -- much better than the Kitchen Aid which I returned.) Customer service is completely unapologetic and unhelpful. I can't find a replacement of the plastic ring with blade that fits in the bottom of the jar. It was a beautiful blender and the thought of tossing it makes me want to cry. Future blender buyers, beware!

misleading
This thing is listed as a blender. It purees, chops ice, and all that stuff according to the description. It sounds like a self-contained and complete BLENDER. But it's not, despite its hefty price. It has to be used with other Bosch kitchen machines that cost upward of [$$$]. Otherwise it's worthless. If you want a REAL blender, get one that actually has a motor.

Not right from the start
I got this blender as a gift and didn't use it right away (which is too bad since the limited warranty is up) and when I did use it it leaked through the bottom. I checked with my mom and sister who had the same blender and they had the same problem! We tried to contact the place we bought the blender, but they were not interested in replacing or paying for repairs and we tried the vender and have not received any sympathy (or exchange/replacement/refund) from them, either. This is very unfortunate, since the blender has a great pitcher (really sturdy glass) and when Is aw it demonstrated it worked really well....I'm disappointed.

Krups leaky blender
I spent 49.00 for a machine (XL6)that leaks all over my counter. They use a cheap plastic sealer ring that doesnt seal and once you make ice in it , you better have it on a towel because your counter will have as much on it as the blender has in it. The seal ring is not damaged , its just a bad design. I wish I could send it back or get the company to replace it but it doesnt look like that is going to happen. If you need a blender , dont buy this one.

Save your receipt, you'll need it!
I've gone through two of these blenders in 6 months. This blender has a soft rubber drive with ridges that strip off. It's not like I've used it for grinding rocks into sand, strictly smoothies, margaritas and juicing. Someone in engineering should lose their job over this idiotic design.
