I have had mine for about 4 months and it died this morning. The editorial review says it is perfect for dorm rooms. DO NOT buy this refrigerator if you are going to leave it plugged in 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It cannot take that type of use. Only buy it if you need to refrigerate or heat something temporarily.

I bought the product 3 months ago and today it died. I do hope the other poster is incorrect in saying that it only has a 90 day warranty because I believe I received this product 97 days ago. I will follow up once I hear definitively.

I bought this for my office at work since the main refridgerator seems to be raided by hungry college kids who work there on a part time basis. Anyways I love my little fridge it is quiet and keeps things very cool the warming function also can be really warm as well. We are planning on taking this with us for car trips since it has a car adapter. I do have one small warning the red is a little bit on the pinkish side so if you are guy you might want to think about a different color.

I used this fridge for about 6 months as sort of an office cooler. When the power supply blew out they wanted me to pay $60 for a new one.

This fridge was used only a few times before it completely stopped working. There is no way to repair it through Amazon or Koolatron. If I were looking for a similar product again, I would be sure to look elsewhere.

This item is a piece of junk. I bought the same item in white for use in my office, and under light use, it stopped working after less than two months. Neither Amazon nor the manufacturer is willing to repair this item or refund the $80 that I paid for it. I'm sorry I wasted my money on it, and I encourage you to find another product.

I drove for an hour with the cooler plugged in, and it did not get any cooler inside. It might keep frozen things from fully thawing, but a regular plastic cooler would do it too. Not worth the money.

Received the cooler - it works fine.
Couple things to watch out for - no manual in the box.
That is odd - toothbrush comes with one..
AC adapter - shown on the web site - not in the box.
There is word 'optional' on the box near the picture.
No phone number or any other indication on how to order it.

Unit does not include the adapter needed for home use! It is pictured in the "see more pictures" section but doesn't come in the box. Very dissapointed that I waited several weeks for this and now I can't use it. I left three stars since I can't honestly review the quality of the unit since I can't power it up. I'm waiting to hear from Amazon about this.

I purchased one of these because it accomodated a space problem in an ill-designed kitchen, and while it fit the room well and accomodated more sensibly the amount of food storage genuinely necessary to a "modern" lifestyle, its temperature gauge is located in such a way that it's easily rotated when items are put in or removed from the unit-the result being that I've now had to throw away four batches of completely FROZEN food, three of them the morning following spending a lot of money at the grocery store. PLUS, it measures temperature from "1 to 5," and I have to keep looking in the "owner's manual" to remember which one is warmer and which is colder whenever I'm resetting the unit after throwing out my now-frozen dinners.

The front door trim of the unit, though it looks metallic in the photograph, is plastic with an inexpensive look. The wine racks are a bit narrow; larger sized bottles such as Burgundy and Beaujolais only fit on the top rack.

The reliability of the unit is questionable. On my second unit, the light bulb blew out after 2 minutes of use. The compressor was serviced after two months of use. If you do buy this unit, I suggest buying a refrigerator thermometer, as the temperature dial must be turned almost to "off" to maintain 55 degrees.

The box this is shipped in it does not adequately protect the unit. Of the three units I've been through, two of them arrived with the front door cracked at the bottom. Avanti's customer service is excellent (as well as J&R), and the unit does not have to be shipped out for service (they come to you).

At the end of the day, this is a college dorm fridge with some plastic wine racks thrown in. There are other units out there, but many start at over double the price. The temperature is very accurate, so if looks and reliability lose out over price, you may find this to be a decent value.

I purchased 2 of these units for my daughters. One has been returned and the other is about to be returned. Out of the box they run constantly for days and eventually do not operate any longer.

Great little wine fridge that worked great and was pretty quiet. However, the unit would never shut off (even after actively cooling for an entire day) then died after just two weeks. Forget about the warranty, I am returning this one for a refund.

The cellar is perfect for smaller spaces but the low hum is not enjoyable. The fan is on constantly so we decided to return it.

My wife bought the Biagiante thermal fridge for me for Christmas, 2003. But it was very noisey from the beginning and it stopped working altogether on May 20, 2004. I realize it wasn't very expensive, but a five month product life is pretty bad. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Doug

While it was working it was a great product. When the power supply went out I could never get a replacement.

I bought the fridge in April 2003. Five months later in September the electrical cord died and I had to purchase an adapter for $25. Now in May 2004 the fridge won't cool anymore. I had it in my office so obviously it was not designed to be plugged in 24/7. Don't bother calling the company. Their customer service is lousy and the operators can barely speak English. For the money I spent I could have purchased a larger fridge that also has a small freezer. Well now I'm going to have to purchase a new one so the $100+ I spent on this set up is wasted.. The only reason I will even give it one star is for the cute look of the fridge. I'm now going to buy an ugly working one! :-)

These are cute little fridges if you don't want to use them all the time. They cannot be plugged in days on end, the cord breaks or the motor goes out and the parts are expensive to replace. If you want something that gives you longevity go for a regular compact fridge which do not cost much more than the Koolatron items.
