Although DeLonghi makes a good deep fryer, please consider the cost of replacement filters before you buy. DeLonghi replacement filters do not last very long and they are not easy to find. If you buy them directly from DeLonghi America, one pack of replacement filters can cost as much as $32.00 plus $4.50 for shipping! Amazon does sell one type of replacement filter for $17.99. One pack of replacement filters usual includes 3 sets of filters. The 6-piece set includes 3 carbon filters and 3 oil vapor filters. If you use your DeLonghi deep fryer often, the cost of replacement filters could easily exceed the cost of the DeLonghi deep fryer in one year! It could be less expensive to simply buy a brand new DeLonghi deep fryer each time you run out of filters. Just food for thought!

This fryer lasted less than 4 months and a dozen uses. The lights come on and the oil gets lukewarm. If it had hydro jets this would be a great way to massage my feet in the peanut oil I have always dreamed about...Never buy this fryer!!!

I am extremely disapointed with this product it worked great for approx 5 times then nothing, won't heat, light wont come on.NOTHING I am in search of a good lg deep fryer that works and continues to work. I am sick of spending $50 on rival products THAT FALL APART IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. Take rival off ytour shopping list and you will save money. If I sound upset I AM hehe

I purchased this product for my Husband for Christmas. Used it twice - stopped working. Took back received new one - stopped working after 4th use. Save money - DO NOT BUY!!!! No comment from Rival as of yet.

The plastic Eastman frying oil funnel and filter work poorly. At oil temperatures high enough to allow the filter to work, the funnel plastic deforms. Not recommended.

It's a nice looking fryer and seems to heat up fine, that is, if you can keep the cord in. The plug isn't a tight fit; rather, it's magnetically attached.

The positive/negative poles of the power are small plates (both on the fryer and the cord) about the size of hearing aid batteries held in place by a two magnets, also about the size of hearing aid batteries. The problem is that the cord is heavier than the magnets can sustain, and constantly falls out. I have to prop my cord in, and even then it doesn't always stay.

Steer clear.

Pros: Compact.
Cons: Cord is always falling out; lacks timer.
Recommended: No
Bottom Line: I've only used it once; returning to the store because the design is so poor. I had to babysit it instead of preparing the rest of my meal.

I received this fryer as a gift. I really liked the ability to removwe the bowl to clean this fryer. So far in my cooking with it, that is the only positive to it. The fryer never gets to the set temperature. The thermostat on this unit is irrelevant. It will never get above 300 degrees. I have actually returned/exchanged the one received as a gift, and the new one is just the same.

If this fryer could only walk and talk you would have a walking, talking piece of (...). The detachable handle on the metal fryer basket is a joke, almost impossible to use. A third degree burn waiting to happen. The ready light quit working a month after purchase. Stay away from this fryer.
