Fabulous (thought the drip tray could be a bit more durable)
Have owned this for the past three months and love it--it does exactly what it's meant to do, very well, it's easy to clean, and has yet to lose its no-stick finish. The only problem is the drip tray--one of the prongs that holds it in place broke within a day or two of purchase and it falls out as it's being transported. It's still working, though, so it hasn't affected our use of this [inexpensive], useful appliance.

Flip & Enjoy!
I was very pleased with the performance of this griddle. The surface is nice and slick, and there's plenty of room to maneuver and flip. And since I'm not tied to the cooktop, I can set it up on any convenient counter in the kitchen.

Ignore the temperature suggestions on the driptray, though. 375 degrees is way too hot for pancakes (which is what I use it the most for) - 350 is perfect for most things.

I really do recommend this griddle highly!

jumbo griddle
I purchased my griddle in time for the holidays and was
very pleased with the x-large surface cooking area and how well
it keeps an even heat througth out the surface. Although I was
a bit skeptical about the teflon coating I have been very impreased with its performance. The large drip tray is also very easy to clean. So if your like me and love pancakes, frenchtoast,
bacon and eggs or just some great hashbrowns, or maybe just
some good toasted cheese sandwiches! I know you'll be very happy with your purchase!

Overall Excellent Product
I've had mine for over 6 mos now. I originally bought this to replace a small portable gas burner (using cans of gas) which I used for shabu-shabu & sukiyaki. It takes some time ~12-15 min. to come to a boil on high. And it quickly comes to a boil after adding addtl meat & veggies. Works well to make stews and teppanyaki. Clean-up is a breeze and the non-stick coating is thick (they call it Titanium coating) so it should last a long time. My only complaint is they should have made temp a little higher so it comes to a boil faster. But overall I'm very satisfied and would recommend this item and the brand.

use mine everyday
I use mine everyday. It's a handy extra burner beyond the four on the stove. I have prepared a delicious stew using it as a slow cooker and I have turned it up high and used it as a grill. Cleans up so easily, too.

Best Electric Skillet I've used.
This is my third Electric Skillet. I work 100 miles from home and live in a trailer during the week (the commute is terrible around here, but I can't afford another or even a different house). My propane Stove went out a couples years ago now and I started using my BBQ, A toaster over and/or an electric skillet instead. My first skillet was "Silver stone" coated. First time I burnt something in it was the last. I then bought a Stainless Steel pan but didn't like the temperature control and it can be hard to clean. This Zojirushi pan not only can be used to higher temperatures (460F instead of the usual 400F), it's a dream to clean and the temperature control is great. I've already burnt something (on Purpose) Blackened peppercorn Rib Eye. Great!!! (anyone got a good air purifier, next time I'll do it on the porch, another advantage, its portable) But nothing sticks to it, don't even need oil or butter. I like it so much I've ordered the larger Sizzler and started using it too. It's got a larger surface and the sides aren't as deep so it's easier to get a spatula into. Also it goes to 480F (call the Fire Department, yee hah). The design is different, but it's a great pan too.

Great Addition to the Kitchen
I love this griddle. It has been a great addition to our kitchen. I especially love it for cooking pancakes, because you can fit about 8 good size pancakes on at once. It works well for cooking chicken or steaks, obviously not as well as well as a grill, or even a George Foreman indoor grill - but is MUCH easier to clean than the Foreman grill. I would probably prefer the Foreman for meats over this griddle if it would clean up easier.

This griddle has a drip channel for grease and a cup that catches it, but for me doesn't really come into play because you have to cook really fatty foods for the grease to run off. The griddle isn't sloped enough for the grease to run off.

PROS:
* Great for making lots of pancakes
* Can control the temperature to exactly what you need
* Wipes clean very easily (Although the trip channel can be hard to clean)

CONS:
* The smell of the food you cooked the time prior comes through no matter how well you clean it.
* Takes up a lot of room

All in all, this is a great product. If you like making pancakes as much as I do, then the cost is worth it for this use alone!! I think you will be happy with your griddle!

Love it
This griddle is great. We used it for teppanyaki parties at home, just like Benihana, except I am not skilled enough to throw a shrimp onto your nose.

Easy Cook & Easy Clean
We used to have an electric griddle that was stolen when our home was broken into. Since then I had wanted to get another one and happened to spot this one at Target. It was a differend so I was a little worried, but I figured I'd give it a shot. All I can say is WOW! This is too cool!
Food cooks so easily on this it doesn't even feel like I'm cooking! Bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, french toast.. almost anything breakfast can be cooked on here. Omelettes are perfect, even heating and so much room. We cook hamburgers, steaks, hot sandwiches, the possibilites are nearly endless. My hubby can even use it!
The grease runs away from the food and into a removable tray so food is healthier than food sitting in a pool of grease in a skillet or fry pan. The non-stick surface works wonderfully so you don't have to add any grease whatsoever and clean up is so simple. Just run it under water and wipe with a soapy dishrag or sponge.
The only complaint is that the backstop is too short. I've lost a slice or two of bacon that slid away from me (VERY non-stick surface!) while trying to flip it! But other than that, I couldn't live without this griddle and I highly recommend it. Especially for busy families with little time to cook.

a great wok
i like this wok very much.it is elaborate and works well. i always use it when i cook hot pot. the only trouble thing is that washing isn't convenient.i will give 5 stars if the wok can be removed from the base .

Replaced after 25 years
I finally had to replace my West Bend Electic Wok after 25 hard years of use. The wok still worked but the electric cord gave out. I could replace the cord for about $20 but I got to looking at what was a beautiful red wok and it was now faded and the interior was beginning to stick. I figured they may have made a few improvements in that time, so opted to by a new one. It was well worth it. Heats up much faster, cools down quicker, larger cooking surface. Since I have a pantry, it stored in the same space as before. I like the metal lid. It is lighter than my first one so I can lift it with one hand and spoon contents out with the other. The only problem I have is seeing the temperature gauge because of the electrical outlet location in my kitchen. The gauge ends up on the left, under the handle.

West Bend Wok
After reading reviews on the wok's available on Amazon[.com], I decided on this Wok due to the ability to put it in the dishwasher. Turns out it is a bit to large to put in my dishwasher, but it is very easy to hand clean. The non-stick surface has lasted, but I am careful to only use plasic or wood, and I wash it with a cloth and soap. It gets to temperature quickly during cooking, the only 'complaint' I have is the simmer cycles (not a constant heat, but on and off). I purchased some Thai cook books, (Real Thai, and Thailand The Beautiful Cook Book) and was amazed with the correct ingredients and a Wok, how easy it is to prepare my favorite food. The difference the wok made- I was able to cook at the correct temperatures. My stove BTU is apparently quite low, it took forever to 'sizzle' so the food turned to mush before it was cooked. I now use the wok for anything I want to cook fast and/or warm up.

Make perfect pancakes every time.
This is a great little appliance for anyone who finds flipping pancakes challenging. Since the entire machine flips over and you don't use oil, there is no splatter, no mess. The results you get are perfectly golden, perfectly uniform pancakes that anyone can make. They are also lower in fat than if you would fry the pancakes. Another reason I love this appliance is because I have a rather small kitchen, and limited storage space, and The Pancake Factory does not take up all that much room- it's not heavy, bulky, or oversized.

Wonderful product!
This small appliance is the perfect addition to my kitchen. It's small, so it fits perfectly in the kitchen drawer and it turns out perfectly golden pancakes every time. The hinged base allows you to flip the pancakes with no splatter, no mess. I was looking for an easy to make pancakes, and this definitely solved the problem.

A breakfast favorite... without the fat!!
This machine is perfect for anyone who is watching their fat. Instead of frying pancakes in oil, all you need to use this machine is some cooking oil spray. The pancakes won't stick, and come out perfectly golden. This Pancake Factory does everything it says it will. I love mine and use it at least once a week. The only disadvantage I can see is that it would take a while to make an exceptionally large amount of pancakes, but in my household everyone gets up at different times, so I just make a bowl of batter and everyone makes themselves fresh pancakes whenever they get up. This machine is very easy to use, and even those who can't cook will be able to turn out perfect pancakes every time. It is very easy to clean, because it's non-stick- I just wipe mine down with a wet, soapy sponge, then dry it off and throw it back in the drawer (it's compact size makes it easy to store.) P.S. This also makes a great wedding shower gift, because it is something most people don't think of asking for or giving.

precaution noted
We enjoy the flexibility of an electric skillet, especially during the hot summer months. Over the years we have used many brands. We purchased the Rival in the fall of 2003 and we used it frequently.

This is an excellent product, especially at this price. It is one of the few electric skillets we've owned that provides an even heat across the pan. The "simmer" actually simmers.

However, I do feel a safety precaution should be noted. Sadly, last night as I picked up the Rival by its handles, the one-piece handle/leg broke. Luckily, the skillet was not in use.

Rival S12P Electric Skillet
I was looking for something like this when I recently moved into an apartment with a friend . I figured if I had mini-fridge , microwave, and some kind of electric or gas skillet I would be self-contained cooking-wise in my room .
Well I went to my local Target and looked at several models until I spotted the Rival S16 . It was ... which seemed at the time very reasonable, so I got one .
I have been using it for several weeks now and I am blown away by the performance and versatility of this skillet . The shape and design of the pan is very well thought out . It is big enough to cook just about anything and it has perfectly slanted edges so that rice or pasta that is simmering cant sneak up the sides and get stuck . Seems to me like a fairly thick , quality , non-stick coating as well . The speed with which this skillet reaches a usable heat is amazing . It's at least 3 times faster than a pan on a conventional stove , gas or electric.
You can fry hamburgers or steaks , grill oil-free chicken or fish , boil water for mac & cheese (cheese & mac?), simmer pasta or rice mixes , make grilled cheese sandwiches , its endless .
The only negative thing I can say about this product is that the vented plastic lid gets hot enough to emit a plastic odor the first several times you use it. I could sense a slight plastic taste after using the lid on particularly high heat dishes . This goes away after 4-5 uses but I wonder if you put it in the dishwasher, if it would temper the plastic and prevent this ?
All in all a great electric skillet , and I highly recommend it. That ... "reasonable" price has developed into a steal .

College Student
Great, this makes your dorm more like home. I am a sophomore now, and after a year of nasty cafeteria food I got one of these. It 's a life saver. No more running to the cafeteria at bad hours, and it also saves money. If you cook for yourself, you really save on the seven dollars a meal in the cafeteria. It's very safe, and only requires a sturdy surface. =) I dont know how I lived without it.

After use enthusiasm with quality dewindles
I've owned this wok for approximately one year and it has had minumum use;maybe twice a month. Once before I had used it and one of the four plastic support legs was loose so I tightened it with a screwdriver. My wife usually uses it the majority of the time. Today while making fried rice two of the legs loosened and the wok sat on the counter. After washing it I looked at the legs and noticed that on each leg there is a minute piece of plastic that fits into a small hole in the base of the wok that prevents the leg from turning. Several of these were missing. I put locktight on all the screws and tightened them but stripped one. The screws are simple metal screws. I thought that I was buying quality. I also noted that the price has dropped dramaticly since I paid eighty some dollars for mine.

One excellent wok!
Wow, am I amazed at how great this thing works!
I've used a steel wok on an electric range for years, wishing I had a gas range because it would heat and cool almost instantly...as a wok should. Today I stir fried some vegetables in my Rival. After steaming under that great glass lid, I removed it to add my sauce mixture and turned off the heat as usual to start the cool down. The heat went all the way off and I had to turn it up again to finish thickening the sauce. This is the closest thing I can imagine to using I gas burner. You'd better get one of these!

Best Wok Out There!
I looked at just about every brand of wok on the market and believe me, this is the best. It's a very heavy-duty stainless steel with a high gloss finish that makes it look great on the counter. I also like the glass lid and the capacity makes it super for entertaining. Being able to put it in the dishwasher really sets it apart from the rest. Excellent value too!

no rise
I tried one of the recipes in the enclosed cookbook, as well as muffin mix from the supermarket. I used self-rising flour as instructed. In both cases, the muffins would not rise.
I was very disappointed.

As Advertised
Being diabetic, I'm unable to eat most muffins because of the sugar. The ones made with aspartame taste awful, so the only way I could enjoy this luxury in the morning was to make my own. With weather in the 80's and 90's, lighting an oven is out of the question. This little muffin maker is just right. I can use whole grains, fruit, Splenda, and substitute applesauce for butter and voila! I've been enjoying healthy, tasty, fresh muffins on a daily basis!!! I use natural (unbleached) muffin liners which means no clean up at all!

Convenient and easy to use!
I love the Muffin Magic (MM)--muffins turn out great every time, even using whole wheat flour and bran. When I cook muffins like that in the oven, they tend to rise into a nice shape, but fall as they cool. Not so with the MM! I make up muffin mix ahead of time (you can use boxed muffin mix, your favorite muffin recipe, or recipes from the owner's manual), and in the process found out something really great--muffins made in the MM from refrigerated batter are lighter and rounder than those made with fresh batter! When making muffins, it takes about 6 minutes for the MM to heat and 11 minutes to cook the muffins. The MM wipes clean with a damp paper towel. It is small enough to store easily in a kitchen cabinet. It saves energy and prevents the kitchen from overheating in the summer from the oven. It makes a great gift.

I did have one problem with my purchase: The box containing my MM did not include an owner's manual. Amazon did not have one to spare and suggested contacting the manufacturer, Breville. Unfortunately, the e-mail for them Amazon had did not work, there was no contact information on the MM box, and I had to track their website using Google. After all that, Breville never answered my e-mails. Ultimately, Amazon sent me another MM, I extracted the manual and sent the excess MM back. To prevent that happening to anyone else, here is all you need to know to use the MM:
--Wipe it out with a damp paper towel before using it the first time.
--Put something under it (I use a wooden cutting board) to protect kitchen surfaces.
--There is no on/off switch, so *never* leave it plugged in unless you are using it.
--When you are ready to use it, plug it in. When the green light comes on, it is hot enough to bake the muffins.
--Fill the three muffin cups to the top with muffin batter. This is about 1/4 cup, and a standard ice-cream dipper works well for putting the right amount of batter in. Be careful because the MM's surfaces are hot!
--Set a kitchen timer for 11 minutes. When it goes off, open up the MM and insert a toothpick into one of the muffins to make sure they are done enough to suit you. (You will know after the first usage exactly how long it takes to cook the muffins to suit you.)
--Unplug the MM and wait a few minutes before taking the muffins out to lessen the chance of burning yourself. If you are cooking more than one batch at a time, removing the muffins is a bit tricky because they are very, very hot--I recommend for extra safety doing one batch at a time. When you are removing the muffins, if you have let them cool completely, you can just turn the machine over and dump them out. Otherwise, if you want to eat them while still pretty hot, take a butter knife and gently ease it between the muffin and the side of the MM cup to raise up the muffin so you can get hold of it to lift it out--be very careful to not scratch the Teflon surface.
--Let the unplugged MM cool completely before wiping it out with a damp paper towel.

Every Sunday, right after church. . .
Sunday is pancake day at our house, so right after my wife Cathy and I finish our music ministerial duties, it's time to head home, change into something more casual and fire up the Rival electric skillet. Whether it's pancakes for two or flapjacks for a crowd, it's all the "griddle" I need to get the job done.

The Rival S16 Electric Skillet is a true modern classic. It sits high off the counter on a pair of integrated handle/feet, protecting the surface below from heat marring. A detachable probe-type thermostat can be dialed from a keep-warm setting of about 200 degrees F to a scorching 425 degrees (everyone already knows 375 degrees is the ideal setting for pancakes). When the indicator lamp winks off, it's time to get cooking.

The skillet is coated inside and out with the latest formulation of DuPont Teflon, still the sine qua non of nonstick cooking. After an initial seasoning, it performed like a family-heirloom cast-iron griddle, releasing even banana pancakes without any additional greasing. The 12"x16" surface handles 4 pancakes made from a 1/4 cup of batter each, a nice easy-to-manage quantity.

Though it's fully immersible, I have yet to wash it. The only cleaning needed after a batch of pancakes is a thorough wipe with a paper towel once the skillet has been allowed to cool.

A Must Have Item!!
I bought the Rival Electric Skillet (16x12) at my local Target a while back and my family LOVES it!! We cook everything from pancakes and french toast (while making a side of eggs on it, too!) to fried chicken and even beignets (french doughnuts). I almost bought the 12x12, but I am SO glad I went for the larger one because we can make french toast for all of us at once instead of everyone waiting. Definate buy!!!!

Great skillet, great price!!
Received my skillet about a week ago, it is HUGE! The non-stick enables me to cook anything with a "no hassle" cleanup! Don't know how I lived so long without one. The temperature control, yes it's tough to see, but is designed that way to keep spills from ruining it, the old ones used to break after awhile, due to exposure to splatters and spills. I will be using this skillet almost every day!

As a fryer....
I, too, bought this cooker at Target believing it was a fryer and was disappointed that the instructions noted it was NOT a fryer. Unable to find anything I liked better (the plastic machines seem flimsy and clunky), I took the advice of the last reviewer and tried it as a deep-fryer for tofu and eggrolls. It works! The thermostat seems reliable, and it heats up quickly enough. Plus, it's dishwasher-safe and nonstick. The only disappointments include the fry-basket, which isn't optimum for draining oil and is awkward to handle with a removable pinch-handle-- but I improvised with tongs. And it would be nice to have an airtight lid to store the oil-- but the glass one does just fine if you change the oil occasionally. As someone who usually avoids frying foods for health reasons, this little pot allows me to cook the few fried goods I'd normally go out for as well, or even better, than how I'd get them at a restaurant-- and it makes my "it-ain't-good-unless-it's-fried" husband feel like he's got a place in the kitchen.

I love this appliance
I have been using a Fry Daddy for a few years and wanted something that would go into the dishwasher. This is a great multi-cooker. I have the older version of the same appliance so I am using this one strictly as a deep fat fryer. The instructions said NOT to deep fry in it but it works just fine. I live alone and don't need something big and this is just the right size for me. It would be nice to have a plastic cover for it but I like the clear glass lid. The basket is okay also. I can use it in the older model as well. Cooking dried beans in it takes less time and electricity. Thanks, Presto!

GREAT!!!
I dont want to say too much, but it is really great!
