WARNING - doesn't work with the Cuisinart 7 blades!
Alas, the Cuisinart 7 blades have fixed rods and so this storage unit is useless. It should NOT be listed as an accessory on the Cuisnart Amazon page!

It doesn't fit!
This is listed as an accessory for the DLC-5 7-cup food processor on special. However, it works with all Cuisinarts *except* the DLC-XP, DLC-X, DLC-5 and LPP. This would have been nice to know in advance!

Safe and Sound
I am the happy owner of a Cuisinart DFP-11 Deluxe 11-Cup Capacity Food Processor. My only complaint was storing the blades and disc. I use to store my blades in a drawer and cut my finger not realize that one of the blades was facing upward. This product is perfect for the type of person who likes to keep things organized as well as protected. When I saw this item I knew it would be the wisest solution for my dilemma. It is wonderful to know that my blades are in a safer place and easier to access.

KitchenAid KFPFF French Fry Cutting Disc, fits 11-Cup Processor

I was not impressed with this purchase. Although it does everything it says it does, cut french fries, it is limited by the space in the feed tube. If you've already got the knife out to par down the potato to fit the tube, you might as well just slice your fries yourself. You will get a longer french fry and no wasted clean up. I prefer a fry that is longer than 3 inches which may even be stretching it for the final resulting fry size that you get out of this blade. As with most Kitchenaid products it is sturdy and will last, which is why I gave this blade a rating of 2. I have used my blade once and do not forsee it ever seeing the light of day again in my house.

Why I purchased the French Fry Attachment
I purchased the french fry cutter with the hope of getting a great french fry, instead I got more of a shoestring potato. This size does make a very good hash brown however.

    Bad model Oster In2itive
I had purchased from walmart and it died on me. The motor died. Replaced with another under warranty. The second on died. It quit while blending tomatoes. I called Oster and they replaced it with a new one with a LCD screen. I believe they are aware of this defective model. Let's see if this one unit survives. I suggest others with this model get an upgrade.

    It broke on me, too
Intuitive's blending performace is very comparable to the high-end Vita Mix blenders. It made perfect smoothies, blended ice beautifully, and chopped vegetables and nuts. So I was very happy with the Oster -- until it broke after three months.

The part that spins the blades came off. Contrary to what some say, the base is not all-metal -- the blade spinner rubber inside. That is why I would smell burnt rubber whenever I used it.

My mom also had bought the blender but is returning it because of the smell.

If the base was indeed all-metal, this blender would be perfect.

    Oster Inspire In2itive Blender/Food Processor
I've own my blender for 3 months and use it daily; I think it's worth every penny. My previous blenders were much cheaper and had plastic drive and over time the plastic either broke or wore dull. I purchased the Oster Inspire In2itive Blender/Food Processor because 1) it has all metal drive design 2) the glass pitcher is thick and durable; which is hard to find these days 3) the base design is compact and sleek, and 4) the one-touch 10-preprogrammed cycles with the option for manual cycle.

I've found the In2itive blender to be very durable when chopping high density items such as ice, nuts, or vegetables. Unlike many blenders, Oster still uses all-metal drives with 500 watts so it doesn't overheat or strain to chop high density food.

Clean up of the blender is a very simple. With a FIRM twist of the bottom the glass container separates, leaving the sealing ring, VERY SHARP triple blade unit, and plastic "jar" (connects everything to base). I've never placed the blender components in the dishwasher so I don't know how well they hold up.
Like other reviewers, I had one leakage experience which occurred several days after I got the unit. The leakage was not due to poor workmanship, but I failed to tighten the glass container to the plastic "jar" causing the sealing ring not to seal properly. Luckily, my first ingredient was water so pouring the water out and turning it over to tighten the jar wasn't a big deal. Due to the weight of the glass container, I doubt if I could tighten the jar without turning it over. After washing and reassembling the unit, you MUST TWIST FIRMLY the jar so the sealing ring compresses against the glass container.

The downside to this blender is its "intuitive" nature. It knows exactly when the base is slightly misaligned - either the blender will not start or it will stop during one of the programmed settings. The easy and only resolution is to lift the container from the base and place it back on.

Overall I'm extremely pleased with this blender and would highly recommend it to others. If the price is drawback, I recommend purchasing any of the other Oster blenders with the all-metal drive.

    LEAKS!!
We love the programming and the blending but we have to double the amount as it leaks half of what you put in. We did contact Oster and though much confusion got a new gasket and blade assembly. And it lasted three uses before it started LEAKING AGAIN!!

It broke after 4 months of regular use
Not recommended. This would be a great blender - if it didn't break. The gear used to drive the blades is connected to the motor by plastic (or some form of rubber, I'm not sure.) Regardless, the 'plastic' wore off after 4 months of regular use, making the blender unusable. This was a present, without a receipt, so we were worried about the return policy. The good news is we called Oster customer service directly. They were polite and are letting us exchange the blender by mail. They say it will take a few weeks. Until then, we will be looking forward to having our morning smoothies again.

    Great blender, poor food processor
I don't think this product should be advertised as a blender and food processor. First the good news: as a blender it works great for me. It does well on everthing I've tried: milkshakes, smoothies, soups, purees, batters. I had to constantly shake my old blender and stir things up, but this one works well on all the automatic programs or manually. I didn't really expect it to work well as a food processor, and indeed it didn't. Chopping onions in it (according to the directions in the manual) resulted in a mix of big pieces and liquid onion--not pretty. I also had to pre-cut the onions so small that it didn't really save any time. As for the leaks, this happened to me too, but then I found out that the gasket wasn't seated properly. I now reassemble it more carefully, making sure the gasket is completely under the "lips" of the bottom part before putting the glass container on. I would actually give this product 4 stars if they didn't advertise it to work as a food processor.

How the heck does this work?
Can anyone write a description of how you put the discs in this as each disc has a white plastic tube that seems to interfere? I know I'm terrible with spatial relationships--please help!!!

    guess what you're buying
you don't list what size cuisinart it's for: 7, 11, or 14 inch food processor. Who's going to buy an unknown piece of equipment?

It's all right, but it could been a little bigger!
If this holder is bigger, it would been a better design. I would definitely recommend the bigger one that [Amazon.com] has for sell now. When I bought this item, [Amazon.com] only has this one for sell, so I went ahead and bought it. I wish I could return it and buy the bigger one. But I believe I am a little too late though. ...

    DON'T BUY...THESE ARE DEFECTIVE!
From other reviews and my own experience, these blenders are DEFECTIVE. The teeth on the motor base that turn the blade STRIP and the blender is pretty much TRASH. I called for warranty service and they will fix it alright..AND REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER STINKING PIECE WITH PLASTIC TEETH. I am telling you...just throw your $100 bill in the trash NOW and cut out the middle man if you insist on wasting your money! Better yet...the first homeless person you see...slip them the benji..they can use it more that GREEDY OLD CUISINART THAT KNOWS THEIR APPLIANCE IS DEFECTIVE AND STILL KEEPS SELLING THEM.

I recommend Oster, KitchenAid or any brand that makes them out of steel or rubber. I replaced my piece of junk Cuisinart after throwing it in the TRASH with a KitchenAid that is HARD RUBBER...and it has worked like a champ!!

Wish I could give it more stars
I have now owned two identical versions of this particular blender. Unfortunately both broke after a year in exactly the same way. The black plastic gear that engages the blades cracked, and in both cases it broke on while blending either bag ice or most recently, frozen bananas. Considering that these ingredients are not that hard to blend, I am greatly disappointed.

If you buy a Cuisinart, it's because you demand quality. However if you buy this it should only be because you like the appearance, and not because you plan on making frozen drinks or smoothies. As said I've bough two, so obviously I've been patient; but no more.

    Versatile, but breaks easily
I have owned the duet for approximatley one year. I use the blender mostly for milkshakes. The food processor is small, which is ok with me, except I do not like the feed tube. With a processor this small, it's unlikely one would use it to slice or shred, so why bother with the slicing disk and therefore the feed tube? Also, the feed tube makes it too tall to work with right under kitchen cabinets--you must pull it out to use. The motor is loud for both appliances. And the biggest problem is that mine broke this morning while I attempted to make a milkshake rendering both applicances unusable, since now the blade will not rotate. There is a small black plastic disk that fits between the base and the jar that has shattered all on its own. After reading your other reviews, I see I am not the first person to experience this. Buy this item with caution.

    what a joke
this came with a european electrical plug. what am i supposed to do with this?

    What were they thinking????
This is my second processor. I don't remember the first model but it was great. This one works great except for the top coming apart. Why would they screw two pieces together, what were they thinking? The first one had a one piece molded plastic top. Everytime I grate cheese a large chunk gets wedged between the disc and the top. It has ripped all of the screws out and separated the two pieces so I can no longer use it as a grater, which is why I'm on this site, trying to purchase either a new top or scews to repair the old one

    Worked well for me!
This has been a great food processor for me! I bought model #70600 in about 1995 and have been very happy with it. It's still kicking. (I really think model 70600 is the earlier version of this 70700. My 70600 looks exactly like this down to the buttons on the top and the blades.) I use it to slice, grate, and puree. I used it just last week to grate sweet potatoes. I've used it for pizza dough. I haven't had any problems leaving it running (although I haven't tried running it for extended periods with really thick items like bread dough). It may not be the best food processor out there but it gets the job done and is much cheaper than the others. It has helped me make easy work of all my veggie recipes that require a lot of chopping of a lot of vegetables. Plus, after 8 years I just called their customer service and they're sending me a replacement "disc shaft" for free as a courtesy. (I accidentally chewed mine up in the garbage disposal.)

    Didn't last long...
Within the first week of purchasing, the cover for the food processor cracked across the top of the chute after very light use and handwashing.

May be the worst appliance I have ever bought
I purchased this product with the idea it would help me out at Thanksgiving from having to cut celery & onions for stuffing. It didn't. There's a chute where your food is suppose to feed through a grater & into a bowl. Doesn't work. It gets stuck in the grater. I had to continously clean out the "chute" to keep it going. I actually ended up chopping everything myself. Would not recommend.

    Not a bad little product.
When I got this as a gift I was a bit skeptical, but this little food processor does a good job for the price. It sliced and shredded carrots well. It did a good job with pizza cheese. The food shooter feature is great. I can put in carrots, slice them into a mixing bowl, then chop onions into the same bowl, then throw in some celery and position the shooter over a second mixing bowl. It had trouble chopping things to a uniform size when I put too much material in the bowl. I just have to remember it's only made for about 2 cups of material at a time and it does a fine job. Any more than 2 cups and it gets overwhelmed. If you're looking to make big meals, look at the larger capacity processors.

    [disappointed]
I bought the processor and this holder came with the machine....It's nice for what it holds, but there is NO room for anything else...and of course if you [have] a FP you are gonna buy more blades. I bought the 5 pack of blades and now have nowhere to put them. ... [with] this holder, I'd actually have to buy THREE more, to accomodate 5 blades, as only 2 blades fit per holder. Kitchenaid needs to design a holder to fit nothing but blades, and I don't mean that "tree" looking thing...I want my blades put away, not hanging where they can be a danger (for them being damaged or me!) Guess I'll have my husband build me something to accomodate and protect my blades.

I would give it less stars if I could....
I hate to be ungrateful (this was a gift from my mother), but it is the worst appliance I have ever used! It does every job terribly, it's noisy...I hate it! Spend the money if you can. Go for a Cuisinart! I know I will be...

    This is horrible
I used this food processor 2 times before it broke. I put a potato in and the middle of the grater blade shredded into plastic shreds. I called Black and Decker for a replacement shredder - and found out that they charge $20 for the replacement part on a $30 machine! Don't buy this - it's not worth it!

    A piece of junk
I have had this item for about a year. I used it mainly for light things like mayonnaise, small batches of biscuit or shorthbread dough. Recently, the bowl shattered while in use. Large shards snapped off from the base and a lid clasp broke off. I investigated the cost of replacing the part and found that it was within $5.00 of the cost of a new unit. I am not shopping around for a new unit - from a different brand.
