This is the processor to get
I've been using this for over two years several times a week without a hitch.

Even batches of pizza dough don't bog this machine down. The grater works well, as do all the accessories. We bought the juicer, which grates the fruit or vegetable while spinning the pulp to extract the juice and it works like a charm.

As I said, we use this item more than any other appliance with great success. I highly recommend it.

Kitchenaid Little Ultra
Excellent addition to your kitchen. I have used it so much since I got it. The name may be little but you can fit about 3-4 large baking potatoes in it with ease and it is very powerful. The motor is so quiet you hardly know it's on. Very affordable and I think a great buy.

Wonderful parmesan cheese!
I had been using one of the standard blades on my food processor to grate parmesan cheese and was happy with the results. Had I known what a difference this made, I would have ordered it earlier! The grated cheese has a very light texture and goes a lot further than using my other blade. I very highly recommend this blade if you like fresh grated parmesan cheese.

It's great!! Well worth the money.
After burning up several food processors, we finally took the plunge and purchased this food processor, and it's worth every penny!! I have on several occasions put carrots, potatoes, onions, etc into this food processor, and even doughs, and it slices, chops, and or mixes with ease. Kitchen Aid ships this with a very convenient case for all attachments that fit quite neatly into it, such as slicing disks, shreader disk, chopping blades, as well as a mini bowl for chopping small jobs like garlic with ease. Another great product. It is somewhat heavy, but well worth it!

Amazing!
I was going to buy a Cuisinart but the reviews from Amazon customers convinced me to try the Kitchen Aid. The KFPM650 comes with 3 discs, a general purpose blade, a dough blade, an egg blade and a minibowl with blade. It also comes with an instruction/cookbook and a video.

I haven't watched the video. The cookbook gave a lot of good ideas for using the processor.

As for the processor itself, amazing! It made short work of veggies. This was the first time I was able to make Cajun food without spending a half hour chopping vegetables first. I ran som onions through the large slicer. While they were caramelizing I had more than enough time to slice the celery and peppers. Slicing bell beppers is fun. Just quarter them vertically and drop the pieces into the running processor. Don't blink or you'll miss it.

I'm really looking forward to putting this thing to good use for sauces, marinades, doughs and more. I don't know how I was able to live without it.

KitchenAid KFP650 11-Cup Professional Food Processor, White
I am retired male who loves to cook/bake in my spare time which I have. This food processor was purchased 8 months ago and I think it is the next best thing to sliced bread. I use it for everything from pie crusts to chopping/slicing foods for salads. Speaking of pie crusts, It makes the best flaky and delicious crusts using the recipe that was included with the processor. It kneads bread wonderfully and in a very short time. I also make wonderful meringue pies and sauces for anything. I do not use my Kichen Aid mixer or blender anymore. This is a definite MUST for the kitchen.

It all depends...
I bought one of these fairly recently. It is well constructed and works well, however whether one of these is right for you or not will depend largely on what you want to do with it.

I bought it because: 1) I have been making bread by hand for several years and am finding it a bit tedious, but am not too keen on bread machines as they can only do one loaf at a time; 2) I periodically make grapefruit marmalade, and cutting up the grapefruit peels is very tedious work that can make your fingers sting (or you can cut yourself); 3) I hate slicing onions as it moves me to tears; 4) a lot of recipes suggest the use of a food processor to slice things quickly.

After some research, this one looked like the one to get. But don't be deceived by the 'Pro' tag on the name, because this thing is way too small to have much professional use.

The first thing I found out is that although this machine is the 11-cup size, it can't really handle more than about 3-4 cups of anything. For example with bread, the largest amount of bread dough it can handle is about 3 1/2 cups, which means you can just about make 1 large loaf. However, it blends the dough very, very quickly once you have figured out the correct proportions of water, so it does not take too long to make 2 loaves one after another, once you have done the measuring etc.

On the marmalade, the machine does a wonderful job of juicing citrus fruit, and is pretty good at chopping up the grapefruit rind, once you figure out which blade to use. Then again, you have to chop the grapefruit by hand into quarters before you can feed it in, and after two grapefruit the work bowl is full, so you have to empty it before you continue. (Makes you wonder about the 'Pro').

It does a great job of slicing onions. Again you and your knife quarter the onions and the Kitchen Aid does the rest. I have found it does help me approach new recipes, for example today I made a squash casserole (more of a souffle, really), and it did a great job of slicing the squash and then blending the other ingredients (with the dough blade).

Yesterday I made a chocolate cheesecake. The machine didn't do such a great job of breaking cookies into crumbs for the base, needing a bit of help from fingers, and I rather think that the old freezer bag and a few whacks with the rolling pin trick is more effective. But it did a wonderful job of blending the ingredients for the filling, which can be tedious by hand, and although I haven't done it yet, I can see it will be great for making pastry and mixing cakes.

So there you have it. Whether it is good for you or not will depend a great deal on what kind of cooking you do. In any case, this is just a power tool with attachments that you may or may not be able to incorporate into your culinary style. There is definitely a learning curve, but if you are a persistent kind of a person, you will probably be able to do some things quicker and some things better with it.

If you want something to peel potatoes or tomatoes, though, you will need a spouse, a lover, or an obedient child.

Great Food Processor for the money
After looking at all the food processors I felt that while this model cost more than the others, it's more cost effective because of all the accessories that are included. The juicer works great and can take a grapefruit down in a couple of seconds. It has an egg whipper which is great for whipping egg whites into a fluffy consistancy. It includes a container for storing the blades. My wife absolutely loves this piece of kitchen equipment and she has it sitting proudly next to her Kitchen Aid blender and Kitchen Aid coffee maker. I can't recommend this product highly enough you won't be sorry you spent the little extra money for it.

Somebody Pinch Me!
Absolutely PHENOMENAL!! This is the best thing I think I've ever bought. As an avid cook, I wanted help chopping, mincing, and grinding; but was not sure I would find this handy enough for daily use. After careful research, I settled on this luxury machine, and have not looked back since. I can't believe I didn't get it sooner. Here are the top reasons to buy it if you have the counter space and cook alot:

1. Overall quality combined with powerful, yet extremely quiet motor. Slicing and shredding is precise and so efficient. I made ratatouille for Christmas, and it took under one minute to slice zucchinis, eggplants, bell peppers, and onions for ten people. The machine is so powerful that you will rarely use the "on" button. Almost everything can be processed with a maximum of 5 "pulses." Grinding meat is a pleasure too. I now grind my own beef and pork, making alot of dishes lighter tasting.

2. Easy to use once you get the hang of it. Being new to food processing, even I was able to fully utilize the processor quickly. The construction is so logical, and the manual explains everything. I leave mine on the counter, and use it daily. It helps that the machine is sleek and beautiful. You won't mind looking at it.

3. Really safe- the motor does not turn on unless everything is aligned the right way.

4. Two-sized feed tube- this feature is what prompted me to get the 670 specifically. The other 11-cup Kitchenaid has only one size feed tube. This has a 3 inch opening and a 1.5 inch opening. If you do any amount of stir-frying, you will be grateful for this feature because it feeds virtually any amount and configuration of vegetables onto the disc to ensure precise cutting.

5. Three bowls- 11 cup, 9 cup, and 3 cup really helps when you need it- during big dinners when you don't have time to clean up between jobs. The 3 cup bowl is really useful for making all kinds of marinades involving herbs and spices.

6. Excellent customer service. I called with a question about usage, and the Kitchenaid people really are helpful and have a great attitude.

7. Minimal liquid spillage. Although food processors tend to leak when the mixture contains too much liquid, this one contains most everything I've thrown at it.

8. Easy to clean. There are no crevices for the food to get stuck in. It takes one drop of detergent, and a little whirling of water to get the bowls spic and span.

The only con for me is that I like it so much I will have to buy all the other accessories that go with the machine. I found even the thickest slicing disc too thin for cutting vegetables salad-size, so plan to buy the 5-piece set if you buy the processor.

No Match for an OLD Cuisinart!!
For those floundering between purchasing a Cuisinart or KitchenAid Food processor......Go for the Cuisinart every time.If you are a former Cuisinart Processor user, you will be very dissappointed in the KitchenAid Professional Ultra Power! I have an old Cuisinart with all available discs. Got a new KitchenAid for Christmas (early) with the 5 disc set of extra blades. I used it twice tonight for the first time. First to shred medium hard cheddar cheese....variable motor sounds, bogs slightly, moves around on counter and design of bowl lid is difficult to clean (no rinse and go as with my Cuisinart. Decided to make the soft dough for Pecan tartlets containing two sticks butter, 1 8 oz cream cheese and only 2 cups of flour. This was too much for this machine! It nearly stopped completely several times! I couldn't believe it. It wavered back and forth, not maintaining the speed, even on pulse. Just imaging if I was trying to make bread dough!! I was looking forward so to getting this new KitchenAid Processor (made in France). I had read many rave reviews about the Ultra Power. Guess those cooks never had a Cuisinart!!! I figured theysince bPacking it up tonight and sending it back! Going to keep my old Cuisinart and buy new bowls.

Effortless and Solidly-Built
I had a cheap food processor. Since I already own a Kitchenaid stand mixer, I had high expectations for the Kitchenaid food processor. I was not disappointed. This things chops, shread and slices with incredible speed and ease. It is well-built; everything fits together solidly and tight (but not too tight so that it's hard to use). The measuring cup that fits inside the food chute is handly and convenient. Even though I initially thought the mini-bowl would be useless, it's actually come in handy a few times already; (I've used it for chopping onions and pickles). I have always made pie crust by hand, but I tried making it in the food processor. I was amazed at how fast it did the job. Cleaning is easy, but you do have to be careful as the blades are extremely sharp (as you would want them to be). My only negative would be the storage container for the blades and disks; it's huge and it only holds 3 disks and the 3 blades that come with the machine. It would be nicer if it were more streamlined. All in all, that's a pretty minor "concern." I am thrilled with the food processor; between this and the stand mixer, I'm all set.

Another Superior KitchenAid Product!
This food processor is yet another star in the KitchenAid family. I have the 7 speed ultra power plus hand mixer, Artisan stand mixer, ultra power plus digital toaster, ultra power blender, mini chopper and the coffee grinder and I love them all! This food processor does a great job, it is very solid and it couldn't be easier to clean. It is a powerhouse and is very easy to use! It comes with all the accessories (blades etc.) you need and it even comes with a container to store them in. This is a top quality food processor built to last! Highly recommended!

Great Little Food Chopper
I just received this little food processor and it's great! This little food chopper is great for chopping all the ingredients for salsa, for your meatloaf and other small jobs. Remember this little machine does only "pulse" chopping and not like the big machine that does alot of other type of chopping. It's a smooth little machine and well built. You can't go wrong with Kitchen Aide. Thumbs up from me!

I LOVE IT!!!
This little chopper is fantastic. And QUIET. I make more noise whacking away on my cutting board. It's easy to clean too! There are a couple of inconveniences about it for left-handed folks. The bowl can only be attached one way, and it's not a natural turning motion for lefties. And adding ingredients means opening the bowl cover or trying to pour liquids in a little, tiny opening. But hey, you're not trying to make a pie crust (try that in your big processor, it's great!) but chop some onions and peppers for an omlette. I used it this morning to beat the eggs, chop the veggies, and grate the cheese. Only 1 bowl to clean up. I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone.

On another note: I purchased this through a Gold Box offer. I had trouble with the Gold Box and the price would not show correctly. Amazon was FANTASTIC about getting me my credit and making sure I was happy.

Thanks so much for a great product at a great price.

Food Processor Benefits; Minimal Hassle!
This chopper is a gem! Need to slice an onion or dice a veggie? This is the chopper to use! I have found myself using this all the time, because it has the benefits of much larger food processors (e.g. avoid chopping onions by hand!), but clean-up and assembly are MUCH easier. The chopper has only 3 parts...the plastic bowl, the top, and the one-piece blade; all of which can easily be put in the dishwasher. Its blade is also surprisingly powerful...I have been able to pulverize frozen fruit for smoothies with no problems. For the price, this is a very handy gadget - especially for moms who don't have hours to assemble and wash several different food processor parts!

A great value!
I received this food processor for Christmas, and was at first disappointed that it was the "low-end" of the Cuisinart line, but after using it twice since, I am more than pleased with its performance.

First of all, I was very pleased that it came not only with the "S" blade but two other grating/slicing blades, and a spatula. The older packages did not include these and required additional purchases.

Second, when it comes to preparing things that need slicing and chopping, the Cuisinart does a great job. Having made an apple pie at thanksgiving by manually chopping apples, the Cuisinart makes otherwise labor-intensive cooking MUCH easier.

For the price, this product is a great value and does 90% of the things most of us cooking at home need to do. Cuisinart has been around a long time, and many recipes in today's cookbooks actually recommend you have one in your kitchen, so this unit is a great value for the price and will make cooking easier and more enjoyable.

"Do I Need This?"
Perhaps you are thinking, "Do I really need a food processor?" The answer is, "Yes!"

Twenty years ago I bought the same model as this one and it has seen daily use and is still running strong! I thought I wouldn't really use it that much, but once you start using it you find that it makes food preparation so much quicker that soon you can't do without it! Not only is it great for slicing and chopping, but it is also great for preparing bread dough (no more hand kneading!), pureeing, and making peanut butter.

The only time I use a blender instead of the food processor is when I'm pureeing a large amount of liquid (like a hot soup), because it will leak out of the food processor.

Because of the food processor, I find that I make lots of recipes that I formerly wouldn't have because they used to take too much time.

Caution: The blades are razor SHARP! The first week I had my processor, I pulled bread dough off the blade without being very careful, and sliced off the top of my thumb! After 20 years, the blades are still very sharp. The work bowl is a bit scratched and dull, but after 20 years it's a miracle that it's still in one piece!

For my small family, the 7-cup capacity is just right. If I had a larger family, I might invest in one of the larger processors.

great for the recreational cook
I bought this food processor almost on a whim. I knew I wanted one, and I felt sure I could find some use for it, but I wasn't sure exactly why I wanted it or what I'd use it for. Since I purchased it a year ago, I have found myself using it far more often than I thought I would, and for tasks I always thought I could do just fine by hand. I don't eat meat much, so I cook with vegetables frequently -- this food processor makes short work of chopping almost anything, either with the S-blade or with the included grating and slicing discs. I use it at least once a week, and I definitely feel it's worth the money I spent.

One bit of advice: When they say not to use other spatulas or utensils to scrape the work bowl, they mean it, at least when the S-blade is in place. I unthinkingly used one of my other spatulas to scrape the bowl one night and the blade cut it to ribbons.
