run away, this is garbageIt makes me angry to think that I wasted good money on this.
I thought Cuisenart was a good brand, but like everyone else
they just slap their name on a piece of Chineese manufactured junk. Don't even think about buying this piece of junk. I wish I could use a stronger word than "junk".. junk is too kind.
Not as good as it looksNegative: The pulse button stopped working after a week. The blender jar is on the small side. The food processor is small and very noisy.
But worse, the little toy motor on this blender just doesn't have the oomph to do a serious job. It was unable to puree a batch of hummus, for instance. And when I tried to make a very soft pate, the motor overheated and produced a lot of smoke, and small plastic pieces fell out of the bottom. We are not impressed.
I would have thought that the electronic control would provide burnout protection, but apparently not. My kitchen still smells like burning motor. I guess I'll have to give up and get a Vitamix.
This appliance is fine for mixing drinks, slicing carrots, and grating cheese. Just don't expect it to do any serious kitchen work.
Nice buy for the priceGeneral
1. Very nice appearance.
2. Very sturdy with non-skid feet.
Blender
1. Above average power
2. Glass jar is a nice touch.
3. Slight smell of ozone after 10 seconds of operation.
4. Blender noise did not bother me.
5. Easy to take apart to clean and put back together
6. Makes great milk shake.
Food processor
1. Average power
2. Plastic safety locks may break easily. Don't apply excessive force locking / unlocking the processor attachment from the base.
3. Good for 1 or 2 people.
This is not a professional grade gadget. Treat it with a kid glove and it works charms.

Terrific for everyday cooking
Great, Little Machine
I Love This Little ThingThen I came upon this little beauty. It's small enough that I can leave it on the counter all the time. It has fewer pieces, and can be cleaned almost as fast as a cutting board and knife.
The capacity is small, but if I'm just cooking for a couple people, it's plenty big for most chores.
It works so well that I've ventured back into my appliance closet, and pulled-out the full-sized food processor for some things I wouldn't have bothered with before. In otherwords, this little device has changed the way I cook by expanding my choices of techniques to use.
I really think this little thing is an indispensible aid in the kitchen.

longtime companion
VERY POWERFUL AND EASY TO CLEAN
I don't know how I lived without it.
First, my freezer wasn't turned very cold. This caused problems. Make sure your freezer is cold. They recommend around 0F or -18C.
Second, don't put too much in one batch. The ice cream recipes I got from a Williams-Sonoma book were about twice as large as this unit will do. A good rule of thumb is that the container should only be filled up 60% with liquid. It will increase in volume from the creaming process.
If you avoid these two problems, I'm sure it will be a good attachment for you as well.
