broke after one use
This re-conditioned item broke after I used it once. (There is a reason it's so cheap.) Amazon has a great returns policy though, thank god.

Get your EAR PLUGS ready for this hunk of junk
OK, so what do you expect for $10? Well, a unit that does not MAKE YOU DEAF when you use it. The decibels this thing puts out are totally OFFENSIVE to my ears, I cannot believe that a product that sounds like this would be sold by any company. I called Cusinart and let them hear my unit - they then let me hear one they had over there - the both sounded the same, very loud and obnoxious. My ears are still ringing almost 5 minutes after doing the demo for them on the phone. So now unless I want to spend $7 to ship it back to Amazon to get my $10 back, I just take the loss. :-( I don't think I will consider Cusinart products again in the future.

food prep
this small appliance is incredibly handy for small food processor jobs. it is very powerful, easy to use, and fast. it does take a bit of practice to get used to protocols, including beginning with the processing of dry items, and adding liquid materials toward the end of processing. it is great for salad dressings, special dips and sauces, and the like.

it does not replace the full size processor for any sort of big job. it has only one speed, although its handy blade can turn both directions for a different effect.

a real bargain for very small households, and those who like to fancy up otherwise dull presentations.

Cannot detect own Jar
I have owned this blender for over a year and have only used it a few times. Now it can't be used because the sensors cannot detect the jar sitting on the base. Because of Touch-Pad Controls With LCD Memory Screen it is able to say that it "needs an attatchment on the base" and there is nothing you can do about it because it is not detecting the jar and you have no access to the Touchpad button options. At least, with a cheap twenty dollar blender, it would blend as long as the buttons are depressed. I now own an expensive, useless blender!

One little problem...
We absolutely loved this gadget, it was the perfect blender and food processor,so easy to use and efficient, until it began leaking a bit out of the base. Now with each use the leaking has gotten worse, and when my husband went to make a shake the other night, more than half of it ended up on the counter. We have checked and re-checked the gasket seal, but it seems that that gasket has become loose and no longer makes a snug fit. Maybe only ours has this issue, because otherwise, we thought it was a great buy.

Hmmm... it's powerful, smart... but leaky and finicky. :(
When I first got this thing, I was totally in love with it. It's super powerful, makes snow out of ice, whips up the most watery protein shakes into a fluffy delight, makes salsa without turning it into mush, grinds veggies into smooth baby food.

Then, after a few trips through the dishwasher, the "dishwasher safe" jar started leaking. I tried and tried to get it to stop, replaced the gasket over and over and the problem just keeps getting worse. So my advice is handwash this the jar, blade and gasket if you don't want to have this pesky problem.

Also, sometimes, when I turn it on, the LED doesn't register, so I have to turn it off and then back on to get it to work.

On top of it, the blade started to rust a little. I have contacted their customer service and am waiting to see if and how they are willing to resolve the issue. (Film at eleven.)

In summary, I really really want to like this blender because of it's powerful and intutitive capabilities, but fundamental quality flaws as described above keep me from giving it a five-star review.

Mixed feelings
This Food Processor Attachment came with the MUM7150 I purchased about a three months ago. Although Bosch make many fine products, I am slightly disappointed with this one.

The cutting/mixing blade works like it should and I have chopped everything from nuts to homemade guacamole without any problems. I also like the fact that the bowl easily detaches from the handle and base to go straight to the dishwasher after use. My disappointment with this unit stems around the 3 disks and plastic disk holder. I have attempted to shred/grate parmesan cheese and as the other reviewer found, the cheese did gum up between the disk, plastic holder, and bowl. I have also attempted to shred/grate chocolate. This ended up becoming a melted mess as the blade did more to melt the chocolate than shred it.

Overall, if you are getting this, I would recommend it for the cutting/mixing blade, but find a deep dark place in your cupboards to put the disks and holder. If you are looking for a slicer/shredder for your Bosch MUM 7/MEK 7 Kitchen Machine, I would try the Bosch MUZ 7 TS1 Slicer/Shredder instead.

Problem with Cheese
I like using this for everything except cheese. My cheese gets all "gummed" up on the star shaped holder and the underside of the blade.

You do not need them all
The set contains medium shredding disc, 4-mm slicing disc and 6x6 french fry disc. But medium shredding disc and 4 mm slicing discs are already included with the food processor. The only new thing in this set is the french fry disc, so you do not need the set, do not waste your money, just go and buy french fry disc, if you need it. It will cost you probably two times less. By the way, amazon.com stopped selling the french fry discs separately, and this stinks.

You need an adapter for these discs.
The blades on these discs are heavy, sharp and well made. But you need a detachable stem accessory to use them for my food processor (a DC-5 series). The stem did not come with the discs or the processor, is not currently available from Amazon. I finally found it at the Cuisinart website.

Too much effort!
True, I am not a gourmet cook; however, I doubt that many buyers really are. These disks fall in the category of too much work for the outcome. Although I LOVE my Cuisinart and use it for nearly everything, these "gadgets" as I call them are simply too much hassle--installing, using, cleaning!--for everyday use. For garnishes, you can probably find smaller, cheaper tools to use and store. For cooking, my attitude is "who cares" what size and shape your food is? In summary, you really must have a need to spend money to put these on your kitchen "wish list".

Cuisinart Blades
I don't yet own this specialty set, but am delighted to find it here on line after searching in stores. One of my family recipes are Polish-style potatoe pancakes made with grated raw potatoes, flour, egg and seasonings. What a chore to grate the potatoes by hand! If the fine grated does this job, my family will enjoy this treat that they love more often, and my knuckles won't need to be included in the dish!

Amazon's misleading accessory link
I just bought three cuisinart dlc-5 food processors: first one for myself and then later two as gifts. I wanted more flexibility in the range of foods I could process; and as a result click on the Amazon accessory link for a 3mm slicing disc. This disk did not fit my food process.

I returned it, but Amazon was asking me to pay the return freight, as it was "my fault". I disagreed, and am awaiting the final outcome.

Not withstanding the outcome, I looked closer at the other links in order to buy more disks, and I see some of the other accessory links are not much better. April 2004

quality
I gave my 7 cup Cuisinart that I had for over 10 years to my daughter and just bought a new one. The name itself is an excellent quality and speaks for itself. I am anxious to purchase this discs to add to my others. I highly recommed this because of the good quality made and the many uses you can get at it.

Worked ok - until it died on me
I thought this was a great food processor - until one day I put my lettuce in the feed tube, pressed the pulse button, and nothing - dead. It comes with a warranty, but I've tried to call the Cuisinart number and I get a busy signal every time. I have only had the thing for less than 4 months. I would never recomend this product to anyone, nor will I buy from Cuisinart again.

Wow, what a machine!!!
We had one of these babies in my apartment at college and we used it for everything. Put any good food into the cuisinart and it comes out even better than before. Imagine, chipped roast beef sandwiches, fruit smoothies, home made salsa, hummis, just about anything. If the Cuisinart could withstand college apartment use, it can withstand anything!! Wow, Cuisinart is the God of the kitchen!!

Bosch disapointment
I received the Bosch blender but discovered that it was made for a German machine and not the US one that I own. I have never seen the machine that it fits and doubt that it is available in this country. I am surprised that this piece of equipment is not standardised for any Bosch kitchen machine. At any rate, I sent it back to you, but have not heard if you have received it. Please let me know.

Decent Egg Whipper
This attachment works OK--better than doing by hand. This does not work so well sometimes when whipping in other incredients and allows for less control than a stand mixer offers. This is definitely better than a hand blender, though.

Works well HALF the time
The chopper/grinder works very well -- but the the shredder/grater with chute is just horrible. As the other reviewer said, the grated food sprays out all over the work surface instead of into whatever container you innocently intended.

I'm very disappointed in this design -- I had another B&D small food processor with a grater/shredder WITHOUT the chute which lasted for nearly 14 years. When that finally gave up the ghost about 2 months ago I bought this one, and I'm sorry I did.

I guess it's back to hand-grating cheese again and scraping my knuckles . . .

Good with limitations
I use this mainly to grind pulses and veggies and it does a great job. But it is extremely noisy and the grater and other chopper attachments are not impressive. Food flies out as said in the other reviews and it is difficult to clean, unless one is using it for something really dry in which case, just a rinse will do. If one is okay with noise(a lot of that), then this is good to buy. Else, look for options. I am looking too...

Great little processor!
This Black and Decker processor is great! It is compact and SO easy to clean! I purchased it to grind up baby food. It works great! I haven't used that attachment on top yet but it looks interesting for blending fruits or whatever. Definitely worth the money.
