food prepit does not replace the full size processor for any sort of big job. it has only one speed, although its handy blade can turn both directions for a different effect.
a real bargain for very small households, and those who like to fancy up otherwise dull presentations.

Cannot detect own Jar
One little problem...
Hmmm... it's powerful, smart... but leaky and finicky. :(Then, after a few trips through the dishwasher, the "dishwasher safe" jar started leaking. I tried and tried to get it to stop, replaced the gasket over and over and the problem just keeps getting worse. So my advice is handwash this the jar, blade and gasket if you don't want to have this pesky problem.
Also, sometimes, when I turn it on, the LED doesn't register, so I have to turn it off and then back on to get it to work.
On top of it, the blade started to rust a little. I have contacted their customer service and am waiting to see if and how they are willing to resolve the issue. (Film at eleven.)
In summary, I really really want to like this blender because of it's powerful and intutitive capabilities, but fundamental quality flaws as described above keep me from giving it a five-star review.

Mixed feelingsThe cutting/mixing blade works like it should and I have chopped everything from nuts to homemade guacamole without any problems. I also like the fact that the bowl easily detaches from the handle and base to go straight to the dishwasher after use. My disappointment with this unit stems around the 3 disks and plastic disk holder. I have attempted to shred/grate parmesan cheese and as the other reviewer found, the cheese did gum up between the disk, plastic holder, and bowl. I have also attempted to shred/grate chocolate. This ended up becoming a melted mess as the blade did more to melt the chocolate than shred it.
Overall, if you are getting this, I would recommend it for the cutting/mixing blade, but find a deep dark place in your cupboards to put the disks and holder. If you are looking for a slicer/shredder for your Bosch MUM 7/MEK 7 Kitchen Machine, I would try the Bosch MUZ 7 TS1 Slicer/Shredder instead.

Amazon's misleading accessory linkI returned it, but Amazon was asking me to pay the return freight, as it was "my fault". I disagreed, and am awaiting the final outcome.
Not withstanding the outcome, I looked closer at the other links in order to buy more disks, and I see some of the other accessory links are not much better. April 2004

Works well HALF the timeI'm very disappointed in this design -- I had another B&D small food processor with a grater/shredder WITHOUT the chute which lasted for nearly 14 years. When that finally gave up the ghost about 2 months ago I bought this one, and I'm sorry I did.
I guess it's back to hand-grating cheese again and scraping my knuckles . . .
Good with limitations
Great little processor!
