It's a microawaveThe quick button is not as convenient as the one I have on my sharp unit. On the sharp microwave I just push the button and it turns on for a minute. On this unit I push the button for a minute then push start. The extra button push is engineered into the unit and is a pain. I do like the fact that the carousel plate can be removed and cleaned but keep in mind that it is 16" in diameter and may NOT fit in your dishwasher. Despite the 1300 watt rating, it is not appreciably faster than my very old GE, nor my 900 watt Sharp.
Buy this oneThe capicity is large and I find the controls easy to use.
I really use this oven most frequently for defrosting. The inverter turbo defrost feature has no peer. No more dried out edges with still frozen interiors - those are a thing of the past. Just enter the weight of the food, press start and forget it.
If you are in the market for a big microwave stop looking and buy this one.

Read this before you buy1. The top of this oven gets extremely hot. Not just hot to the touch. People used to a microwave will be very suprised by this.
A little insulation would have gone a long way here. This is a serious safety consideration.
2. This item keeps cooking after the beeps. Auto shutoff occurs after 4 hours. Microwave users beware. If you dont respond to the beeps your food is "TOAST". This could be a fire hazzard unless you are real carefull.
3. Their is no light inside to help determine when your food is done.
4. The LCD display is not backlit. Not good for the baby boomer generation.
In summery: This item is designed to overcook the food you can`t see and burn you at the same time.
An excellent product, with a few minor flaws...The good: Even heat. Temperature sensor gives accurate toasting time after time. Convection feature. Looks slick.
The bad: Loud beep when done. Door does not pull bottom rack out. Interior light would have been nice. Expensive.
Awesome little machine.. So, I went online to search for a decent toaster oven. I never intended to find a unit which would allow me to cook roaster chickens. I just wanted it for quick use such as for bagels, garlic bread, nachos, etc. After reading the reviews for this machine here and at epinions.com I decided to blow the (much more than I wanted) dollars on this unit. It has not disappointed me. It has been perfect actually. It pre-heats quickly (a beep lets you know it's ready) and it cooks perfectly especially with the convection feature on.
We have used it for two months now and it is perfect for 5-6 pound chickens (cooks very fast!) and bagels, cookies, toast, garlic bread, etc. To my way of thinking, it makes no sense to spend less $$'s on a lousy unit which rewards you with a few years of poorly cooked food. Spend the $$'s on this one and you won't be disappointed. I bought it on Amazon(with free shipping and no tax!- Sorry NY, no 8.6% for you:)and it was delivered in two days. Amazon has got their $h-t together!! I now buy just about all small appliances from Amazon even if they aren't the cheapest and they deliver fast and efficiently and don't waste my time.

Beware of Teflon, there are new health concernsI am very happy with the Nesco slow cooker, which has a crock pot. It cooks wonderfully and is easy to clean. I wish they made a similar pan for this roaster oven.
It is unhappy news but I'd recommend that before buying this unit with the Teflon lined pan, please do Google something about newer findings: Teflon cooking appears to put molecules of some odd chemicals into the blood of those who eat the food - and it sticks for a good four years at least.
I felt so uncomfortable with this news, I bought a roaster oven that does not have a teflon pan. Porcelainized steel or stainless is going to have to do until I get WAY more assurances with regard to the health consequences of having strange chemicals in the blood for years and years. I am dumping all cookware with Teflon linings.
It Does The JobThe only thing I haven't mastered with it is baking. Still, got more than what I payed for!!

great pan , great price $34.99Make sure you do not put this or other Calphalon into the dishwasher, it will void out the warentee. And Calphalon is known for giving the best garentee's on there products, with out questions, if you use it right.
I bought 2 of these for $39.99, then the price went to $49.99 and I bought one more (for my kids).
If a price on Amazon goes down with-in 30days after you buy it, call Amazon and they will refund you the differents.
I do notice that the price's here change as fast as the stock market does!
But for this price $34.99 I will buy one and save it for Xmas, or Chunuka, never know who is going to show up, but for this price who cares..
I called Calphalon about this pan, and they said this is going our of stock, as they now make it with , one long handle and one short one, for alot more money on amazon.
Personnaly, I have the new one with the long handle also, but like this one better.
This one fits on my stove better, and hang up most of my Calphalon, easier with the short handles. also this one takes up less room in your pantry to store.
This 4qt is not real big for a big family, but it is a really nice size. Can be used for vegies, chicken , lots of rice, fried potatoes, great for reheating left overs, etc.
Can even be used for a small stir fry, for 2 people.
I don't think you would be disapointed in this pan. You will find you will use this for alot of your cooking needs, and for this size and price for Calphalon commercial nonstick, heck you can't lose..Think this was the top of the line for Calphalon, till the new infused just came out!
But I like this nonstick better.

Bubble face
Genius SensorYou just tell the oven what you are cooking and it figures out how long to cook. It has sensors that gage how hot and steamy the food is, and stops when the food is steamy and hot enough. So, I'll have no learning curve time trying to figure out how long this microwave needs to heat stuff as compared with my old wimpy one. Of course, you can still set the timer yourself if you want to know the future with certainty- when the heck is it going to beep!!
Speaking of the beep, it is quite tolerable. My last one was so annoying that I wanted to stand there and stop it with 1 sec left just so I wouldn't hear that sound.
This is the biggest microwave I've seen in a while. the 2.O cf was bigger than my tv, so it looked a little rediculous. The 1.6 is plently big enough.
And the scrolling text is a scream, especially when it's scrolling "Hot Dog" like the walking venders at a baseball game: Ho-o-o-o-o-ot Do-o-o-o-og!
I was originally excited about the Inverter Defrost thing, but after reading the manuel, I decided my expectation of microwave defrosting was unrealistic in general- there is going to have to be stand time after something comes out of the oven, no matter how fancy the defrost cycle name is.
I love this big oven and am seeking out the largest microwave safe dishes available now.

Great for those hot days when you don't want to cook...Here's how - it has an adjustable temperature control on the outside, it's easy to clean up after, it takes up very little room and most important in hot humid places such as Baltimore, it doesn't heat up your kitchen in the summer. So you can roast a chicken for chicken sandwiches or even chicken Ceasar salad without heating up the whole house. You can roast your beef with some potatoes, carrots and celery. You can even make a family favorite, meatloaf, and the rack ensures the meatloaf isn't sitting in it's own fat. Because you can put this roaster on your counter, you don't hurt your back by trying to put a roaster in the oven.
Of course, I use this pan frequently - I used it Thanksgiving to roast the ham, freeing the oven for the turkey and the other fixings, for Christmas for the turkey breast and right now I have a whole chicken in it for tonight's dinner. That leaves my oven free for rolls and dressing and maybe a cake - no staggering the cooking/baking with this handy tool.
I did detect a slight odor upon first use, but you are warned about it in the instruction manual. It was _not_ overpowering and did not cause any distress because I was expecting it. I'm only addressing this issue because somebody else mentioned it.
Easy to clean up, easy to use - I recommend this product highly, especially if you're cooking for a family or if you entertain a lot - it makes cooking so much easier.
...and it's so versatile!Regarding the bad review, the consumer says that the roaster that smelled had been used . . . . the fact that there were problems with it don't seem to be the fault of the manufacturer . . . .

great portable cookware
I Love This Contaption!!!The Crust:
The pizza crusts always come out thick and perfect: slightly cripsy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside and far surpasses the pizza stones in the quality of the crust.
The Quantity Made:
The pizza comes out about 1 1/2 inches thick and generally makes enough to feed 8 people. I have not tried to bake a frozen pizza in the oven, so am not aware of its capabilities in that area, but from a home-made pizza standpoint this is the best gadget you can get.
The Recipe Pamphlet:
The recipe pamphlet included with the pizza maker gives a choice of two dough recipes as well as for a multitude of different pizzas, all of which are excellent and give a good basis for experimentation.
Some tips for the buyer:
Put any veggies containing a lot of water (such as green peppers) on the pizza 5 minutes before the pizza is finished instead of at the beginning. The veggies will come out warm and crunchy and do not waterlog the crust. Remember that 20 minutes is the cooking time, not the making time. Leave about 1 1/2 hours for total preparation.
pizza comes out greatorder another one for myself.
