Essential Addition to a Calphalon Collection
The Calphalon Commercial (not Professional) Nonstick pots and pans are wonderful. Their exteriors are a heavyweight anodized aluminum, and their interiors have a durable nonstick coating. The 7-quart casserole pan with lid is an essential addition to a Calphalon starter set because it is so versatile. You can use it to cook large recipes of homemade soups, stews, and casseroles. These pots can go from stovetop to table to refrigerator to freezer (although I rarely use them for freezer storage--I prefer plastic containers or ziplock bags.) I find they work well on both electric and gas ranges, too. The nonstick coating makes clean-up a breeze, but you must remember to always use plastic kitchen utensils and serving spoons with these pots. Calphalon makes many plastic kitchen utensils which are quite nice, or you can use wooden cooking spoons, too. I wash all my Calphalon pots and pans by hand and never put them in the dishwasher. I like the Calphalon Commercial nonstick coating because I can saute my mirepoix so easily, and use a bit less oil (either olive or grapeseed), and I can add Parmigiano Reggiano to my minestrone and not worry about the cheese sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Love, Love, Love it!
This is my first piece of Emerilware or All-clad and I adore this pot. I make lots of soups, stews, chili, etc in the Winter months. Living in Minnesota - there's not a lot of other things to do for a couple of months :) My only regret is the lid not being glass and having to lift it off every time to check on the dish. I definately will buy more Emerilware. Seems larger than my other 8 Qt kettles. Definatly no buyers remorse with this purchase!

The real deal!!
I just got my Hearthkit and couldn't wait to try it. I whipped up a couple of batches of pizza dough and and set up my hearthkit while it was proofing. Well as they said it took less than 1 minute to assemble the thing. Couldn't be easier. They tell you in the video that it takes about 30 minutes to preheat the item. In actual fact it took almost 1 hour. No big deal except my pizza was assembled and waiting and got soggy by the time the oven was ready. I highly suggest getting a pizza peel if you plan on using this for pizza. Getting it in the oven was the most difficult thing about the whole operation. We kind of threw it in and it got a little (make that alot) mushed but it came out with a thin and crispy crust as good as any I've ever had. I can't wait to try bread and roast chicken!!

As good as the high priced brand
I purchased the Innova Color Cast 5 quart round porcelain enameled Cast Iron Round Dutch Oven for several reasons. I had seen similar products with non-stick interiors and didn't like this feature. I also considered the high priced French Brand but decided to try this model at 1/3 the price. I used the Dutch oven to make Coc Au Vin and was very pleased. I browned, carmelized, deglazed and simmered. The food was delicious and the clean up was effortless.

Stylish and easy to read
This thermometer more than met my expectations. Its large and easy to read, has a nice design and is pretty durable. I love the Kitchenaid line, I own their beautiful cookware and several small applicanes. Keeping with a trusted name is important to me. I dont need the overhead of a digital unit, I have an older oven and a good reliable thermometer is important to me for baking etc.

Versatile
This is indeed a large pot, but I have found it extremely useful and use it at least once a week. I didn't want a large number of pots and pans, so I looked for versatile pieces. We are just 2 in our household right now, but I bought this size mostly because it will be even more useful for the future - a family, company. I use it to cook many things that I start on the stovetop and finish in the oven. For example, to brown chicken pieces on the stovetop, add herbs, ingredients, etc, and bake it in the oven. The heavy tight fitting lid keeps the steam locked in and the food moist. I bake entire chickens in it when I am short on time (skin isn't very crispy, though)- it really cooks a whole 4-lb chicken in about half an hour at 450 degrees with the pot and oven preheated. Works great with chili, soups, beans, tomato-based sauces, even jams. The cast iron heats slow and holds heat in - I don't burn anything in this. Clean-up is so easy!

My favorite pot for just about anything
Never mind teflon, Le Creuset has a wonderfully inert porcelain coating on heavy cast iron. So this pot heats up, holds the heat on low, and the food, with proper amounts of oil, doesn't stick. Cleanup is very easy. A few gotchas: no high heat (ruins the porcelain), no abrasives to clean (ditto) and it is best to warm the pot a bit before putting in the oil as it then fills the micro-sized pores of the coating. And if you leave it on too high, the food will catch on the bottom and burn, of course.

I use this for pot roasts (as I write this, one is cooking right now), for stews and soups. It's my favorite pot and it just sits out on the stove in all its red glory because chances are, that's the one I am going to use to make a meal.
