I bought this insert to use with my all clad LTD 9 piece set that I bought a few months ago. I use the steamer with the 3qt sauce pan a LOT. It cleans up very easily, looks beautiful, and fits nicely into my sauce pan. Some people seem to be complaining about steam escaping from the pan. Don't let this ignorant comment deter you from buying this excellent steamer. Steam is SUPPOSED to escape. If no steam escaped, you'd have what is called a pressure cooker. And if a LOT of steam is escaping, then chances are that your sauce pan is warped, which means you aren't taking care of it. Buy the steamer. It's awesome.

A well designed steamer insert
Having used a double boiler type steamer insert for a number of years, I was pleasantly suprised to find that All-Clad made a steamer insert with a stay cool handle when I switched over to their line of cookware a while back. Having burned my hands a number of times with the old steamer, the stay cool handle alone makes this item a worthwhile addition to your collection. It does a great job of steaming vegetables. I have not tried it with clams or fish yet, but I'm sure it would perform well. Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, I have found that not that much steam escapes from the sides of the pot when in use. I believe this steamer to be far superior to the collapsable-type steamer insterts. Well worth the money, in my opinion.

All-Clad Stainless Steamer Insert - Must Have!
This is a wonderful steamer insert. It is perfect for steaming veggies and also for steaming dim sum (delicious!) or whatever your heart desires. It fits perfectly into the 3 and 4 quart saucepans and 3 and 4 quart casseroles. I primarily use it in my 3 quart saucepan. I have never had any loss of steam and it is very easy to clean. I store it right in one of my 3 quart saucepans. It is made of high quality 18/10 stainless steel and is built to last. It is a must have for your All Clad collection. Highly recommended! A+!

A Little Too Big -- But Great Quality
This steamer insert is too large to use in smaller pots, so be sure to measure and make sure your pot is at least 7" wide on the inside. The feet won't scratch your pot, and removing the cooked vegetables is much easier without the center post common to cheaper steamers. With this one, I can just use a large spoon to scoop out the items, or if I want I can hoist the entire steamer out of the pan by grabbing the rings on the sides, but that's pretty tricky when it's fully of steaming veggies.

Great Kitchen Tool
This is a fantastic tool for your kitchen. I purchased one on the advice from a chef friend, and it has been great for steaming vegetables. In particular I loved the sweet potatoes that I've made using this steamer. Extremely easy to use.

Simple to use with great results.
I love this little gizzmo and I have had mine for years. I have tried other steamers but this one is simple to use and it adjust to any size pan (with in reason that is). All my friends now have one especially after they figured out what it was for. By the way it is real easy to clean and it stores away easily. And if your trying to save money, it costs very little. Get one. You will love it.

    Nice Steamer, Few Problems
I agree with the reviewer about the handle and discoloration. I handle of the steamer is too close to the steamer to grab with a hot pad and too hot to grab with your fingers. I also noticed that when I followed the directions for washing and steaming for the first time, the ink from the blue threads ran a bit.

This is steamer is very nice looking and it does get the job done. I also like how you can add herbs and spices to the water so the flavor and aroma will permiate your food as it's cooking.

Great steamer, but a few little quirks...h
My review is for Ming Tsai's "Blue Ginger" branded steamer, but it looks identical except that the rattan lid handle and binding laces are blue.

I'd give it five stars, but for a few things:

The very first time I fired it up for seasoning (on top of a new Blue Ginger wok at that, whose bright blue finish scorched and also discolored its nonstick finish) all the blue rattan lacing bled into the bamboo it was in contact with. Someone's idea of a spash of color apparently didn't think about what steam does to inks and dyes -- hopefully, it's food safe. Luckily, it looks like Target figured this out and now leaves the rattan "natural".

The second problem can only be attributed to quality control: after letting the steamer cool down a bit from its seasoning, I separated the lid and middle section from the bottom. The lid felt a little snug pulling away, but trying to put it back revealed that the inner band of bamboo had warped and bubbled away from the outer band. To remedy the problem, I had to make a cut in the bamboo strip to allow it to nest back onto rest of the steamer.

Another design note: the small loop of rattan on the lid that is supposed to function as a handle gets too hot for bare fingers when steaming and it's too snug to the top for an easy grab using gloves or a hotpad.

    Great steamer ...
This steamer does a great job, and is a good value for the price. About the problem with the handle being too small/too close to the lid: simply slip the handle of a wood spoon through the little loop and use that as your handle. I've seen several chefs do this on TV programs.

    About the asparagus pan
I actually don't have an ALL CLAD bran asparagus pan, but do own one from a comparable vender. I thought the pan itself is great. Great for cooking corn, noodles, and even broccoli etc.. I, also thought it was a great reasonable gift idea. Caution with gas stove...if it boils over can extinguish flame.

    Cheap and good ...
It's hard to find a tray for steaming things made to fit your pots and pans but this does the job. However, not being a professional chef and all, I"m still trying to figure out how to really maximize this tray to steam my leftovers although I know that this isn't what it's for.

    Overall good choice
I purchaseded this iron on Amazon several months ago after I gave up on my last, top of the line, unreliable Rowenta. The Panasonic does not have the solid, high quality feel of the Rowenta, but it actually does a better job ironing and is not as heavy or bulky. This particular model has a mirror finish - not have that brownish Teflon coating which I avoid. And I really like the removable water tank. I was worried it might leak, but it doesn't. The retractable cord is a nice feature but when extended, the weight in the base is a little light and the iron becomes a little tippy. With care, it hasn't been a problem for me. The jet of steam and spray mist features work very, very well...

But the bottom line is, I haven't found an iron that gets hotter or does a better job so I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

    Joy of Ironing
I bought this Iron a few months ago. Oooh, what a difference a good Iron makes!

First of all, see-through water tank is detachable, so when the water is running out, you can see it, and you just need to take the water tank alone to refill it. No need to carry the hot iron to the sink! The best part is that the Iron glides over the clothes so smoothly, you don't need to do too much. Just move the iron over that wrinkled area, and your clothes will look just as you had it done at a dry cleaner. It used to take me forever to Iron a shirt with my old iron, but now I can do it half the time and effort.

Oh, and after you are done with the ironing, the cord retracts. What a wonderful feature. It makes it so much easier to put the iron away after the job is done. No more of tangled cord, or cord hanging from the shelf.

This is really the best Iron I've ever used, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

    Great pan
The saucepan is a little on the small side, but the steamer (which also fits larger saucepans) is great. The quality is excellent

    Love this little saucepot!
It is great! This does have the cool-v handles, they are just the short ones. It is a pot, not a pan! Anyway, the steamer is wonderful too! Broccoli never tasted so good! The nice thing is that the steamer also fits other Calphalon saucepans making it versitle. You won't regret purchasing this set! Enjoy!

    Perfect.
I have several pieces of the commercial nonstick, and this is a terrific addition to the collection. I frequently need smaller pots, and this one is a perfect complement to the smaller long-handled sauce pans in the collection. The steamer (which sits snugly atop the saucepan) is lovely and very functional. The set comes with a polished steel lid for the pot and a beautiful glass lid for the steamer.

    COLANDER
The quality of the colander is excellent. However, the holes in the colander are too large. When draining noodles, they tend to come out the holes.

    All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Colander - Love It
This is an excellent colander, I love it. All my cookware is All Clad Stainless Steel so I decided to buy this colander and have not been disappointed. Although this is the smaller of the two sizes All Clad makes it is very roomy. This colander can drain a pound of pasta (even a pound of lasagna) without any problems. It is also great for rinsing salad, the solid side handles make it very easy to manage. It is made very well and is very sturdy. The cleanup is also very easy. Highly recommended!

    I LOVE IT
THIS IS A TERRIFIC ITEM FOR THE KITCHEN AND IT LOOKS GOOD TOO! IT IS HIGH END QUALITY,AND DOES THE JOB THAT IS ALL I CAN ASK OF ANY THING I USE IN THE KITCHEN,I LIKE IT SO MUCH I WANT TO GET THE 5 QUART NEXT.ENJOY

Dear Rowenta: Make a Taller Clothes' Pole!
I've purchased this product about 3 weeks ago. I was extremely tempted by the very reliable Jiffy brand but could not quite justify the price for their pro model. So, I took a stab at the 7800. It's wattage is identical to the Jiffy, meaning, its steaming power is equal. The water tank heats up as described and the steam exudes wonderfully. The extra attachments are nice perks. The biggest drawback, as with the Jiffy and any other brand I've seen, is the 5'3" pole. I mean, who designs these things??? Try hanging a pair of pants with 34 inseam and go to town steaming. Like with any other steamer, when you lower the handle down too far, the gurgling starts. You have to straighten the hose and elevate the handle in order to free condensation build up. What is wrong with making a sectional pole that's adjustable to 6-feet? Duh.
Other than that, don't hesitate to purchase this product, ladies and gents. You'll be delighted with it. And, I recommend purchasing the product at www.smallappliance.com. (No, I'm not employed with them. They are in Miami; I'm in L.A.). I suggest purchasing from them because Rowenta offers only a 1 year warranty. Go through smallappliance.com and they'll throw in a free extra year warranty. And, uh... by the way... shipping is free. Only took about 5 days to get my product.
    Cheers....

    Worth The Money!
I purchased this steamer early last spring and used it almost every day since. Since I wear linen every day during the spring and summer, the Rowenta came in handy. It heats fast, has a strong spray of steam and can be used on the most sensitive garments. The only drawback for me was the swivel pole. I think I would prefer that it have the option of being higher. It also took me a while to adjust to the rotation of the pole. All-in-all, it's still worth the purchase. Since I use it so often, only time will tell how long it continues to operate. But then, I'd just buy another one.

    Looks Great, Works Great...
I took a chance with this garment steamer based on reviews of other Rowenta products. I'm glad I did. The Extra-large transparent water tank is one of the main reasons I purchased this steamer. The steamer heats up in 2 minutes just like they said it would.

The only concern which remains in my mind is :
How many years of service will this steamer give me?
Only time will tell. So far I'm very happy. I steamed 8 garments with ease.
