SIMPLY THE BEST TOASTER!!!
THE BEST TOASTER-NOT FOR ALLI find it incredible when someone writes a review and is IGNORANT about the facts. Let the slight of heart continue to buy junk and toss it. As for me, I'll go with a commercial quantity product anytime, that has the features and benefits and be thrilled to have the product last a long time.
If you want to spoil yourself and have the best, buy a DUALIT toaster. If this is out of your league, you can do as the other reviewer said, "you could buy a succession of 15 $20 toasters which I would imagine would cover the same amount of time as this one" and enjoy using sub par equipment! I recommend DUALIT toasters and products to all consumers. Simply put, you get what you pay for!
A MUST HAVE FOR THE KITCHENIt's only a toaster I know, but there's just something about it that gives you a sense of satisfaction. And it makes any kitchen look cool, just siting there. I also know it's expensive, but I've known people buy several new, lesser toasters in the time I've had my Dualit, so who's saving? If something does go wrong, I can get new bits so I won't have to throw it away, ever perhaps.
By the way, it makes good toast too. The best thing is that the toast doesn't pop up, and toast is much crisper if you leave it down (keeping warm) inside the toaster for a minute or two. You can't usually do this with regular toasters.

WOW, what a toaster!! This is an heirloom!Well as usual, I have done TONS of research before buying a "major" appliance, and this would constitute a major appliance! I had my eye on several different ones, with the Dualit being one of them. We had originally agreed upon the DeLonghi, but when I saw it in person, the quality was just not what I wanted. And reading the ratings here, I had found the Breville too. But then I got lucky!!
It was only a few days before Christmas, and me, the eBay Queen, happened to find a brand new, never used, 4-slicer that had been a floor model, so it didn't have the box. Big deal! REALLY. I paid $95 plus shipping!! Took a little longer than it was supposed to to get here, but once it showed up, my husband and I must have eaten 5 loaves of bread in the first 3 days!! Plus I went out and bought a baker's dozen of the good bagels from the bagel shoppe and *poof* they were gone.
Now to the funny part. This was actually a Christmas gift for my husband. He moaned when I told him that he was getting a $300+ toaster for Christmas, even if it was such a bargain. Said, "But it's a TOASTER!". Well he's enjoying it just as much as one person could, PLUS he's bragging about it at work!! One of the guys at his office wants me to bring it in and he'll supply the bagels. So it's now the butt of jokes at work. But it's been good jokes. They are all just dying to see this thing! I think I'm going to ceremoniously place it in my son's Radio Flyer wagon and cover it with a red velvet cloth, then "drive" it into the office, with all eyes upon it!!
Okay, so now that I've written a novel, this is the BEST toaster!! It truly does toast bread perfectly!! Just like they say, it's evenly browned on the outside and moist on the inside...plus if you like to have burnt toast, which my husband does when his stomach is bothering him...you can have that too. We make homemade bread and can cut nice thick slices and have no problem fitting them into the huge slots. Love too that the bread stays down, until YOU lift it up. And the fact that you only use power for the number of slots you need.
What more can I say? This toaster is it! Yes, it's pricey, but I hate wastefulness and this is one that will get passed down to our kids and heck, maybe even their's!

Mr Slicehandsome in a retro sort of way. More importantly,
he delivers perfect toast every time. With all dials and
buttons working the way they should and a 3 year warranty, this toaster exudes confidence.
Now this is a toaster! This toaster is compact but has everything you could need. It has slots wide enough for homemade bread and bagels, a reheat and defrost button and a cancel button. It is a very powerful toaster for sandwich bread. The first time I used it I was too excited to read the instructions first so I set the LED dial at 5 which was the level I used on my Toastmaster. That was a mistake because I burnt the toast crisp. This toaster I only have to set to a 2 to get my toast a nice brown shade. It really puts off the heat. I don't eat bagels so I can't say how it does on them. On Toaster Strudels it works well at a level 4 or 5 setting.
I love this toaster and would buy it again!

If you are resistant of the price, think again, it's well worth the investment!
