Works very nice
The works great! We have used it for a couple of weeks now and we haven't had any trouble. Our old one that was made by a different company wasn't very durable and was pain to deal with. However this is very easy to setup. Just plug it in and start mixing the batter. Then spoon about 1/2 to 3/4 a tablespoon onto the iron and lightly press down. After about 35-45 seconds, lift the iron and pullout the pizzelles. It takes a little time to get good at it, but once you get good, they'll become your favorite snack! It comes with a recipe book too!

Easy pizzelles just like my grandmother used to make!
I recently got married, and my sisters purchased this for my shower. Our mother's family is Italian, and pizzelles were always a treat when we were growing up. As I got older, I made them myself using my mother's old iron, and as a bride, I wanted to have my own. This iron is very easy to use and makes perfect pizzelles. After the iron heats up (about 7-8 minutes), it makes two cookies in about 30 seconds. You may have to adjust the amount of batter used as well as the cooking time in order to get the perfect shape and doneness, but the results of this trial and error are well worth it. The pizzelles remove from the iron easily with a spatula; I experienced no sticking, and clean up was a breeze. Highly recommended!

a special gift
i have this pizzelle maker. for years, my daughter has asked to borrow it to make these wonderfultreats, actually a family tradition. now she has her own!a very easy, quick machine to operate. the pizzelles can be decorated to match any event...even rolled for ice cream cones!clean up is a snap and the machine stores easily. great gift for even the novice baker.

easy to clean! makes great waffles
I've had this waffle maker for several years and it makes THE BEST waffles! They are crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth moist on the inside. It also is great for people who don't have a lot of space in their kitchen. It stands upright for storage. Also, what makes this waffle maker rate above others is the fact that it is VERY easy to clean! Other waffle irons can be hard to clean because the batter will ooze out and into little hard to reach spots and then you have to wait for it to cool and try to wipe it out somehow. I've owned other waffle makers before that did this. There's still dried out, old batter from places that were impossible to clean out! The Proctor Silex one does not have this problem. I practically don't even have to clean it! After I'm done, I'll wipe it gently with a paper towel, and that's about it! This combined with the fact that the Proctor Silex waffle maker also makes better waffles than other brands makes this the best one on the market.

Best Waffles Ever :)
This Waffle Iron makes truly delicious waffles. I never really cared for waffles, but after trying them baked with this maker. I absolutely love waffles now. It's so easy to use and make waffles. And as other people have stated, "they're moist on the inside and crisp on the outside". I may never eat Pancakes again. The waffles far outshine pancakes. Everyone needs to have one of these in their kitchen.

Light, Fluffy, Waffles
Once I tasted these waffles, I knew that I was going to eat these waffles from this waffle iron EVERY DAY!!! They turn out light and fluffy, just like they're supposed to be! I think every house hold should have one of these waffle irons!!!

Don't tell Gramma!
Top quality, and it turns out consistent, beautifully made krumkakke (spelling of "krumkak(k)e depends on what part of Scandinavia your family hails from) very quickly. Over the years, as each of my kids left the nest, the irons went with them. We've tried and used several models. The trouble with most stove top units are their stability on the burner surface, and it is more art than science. This unit makes it possible for even a beginner to put out something Grandma would have served to her guests, with pride!

Great product, wonderful cookies
My mother used to have similar one so long ago. I decided to buy this one because it has the same style. Great cookies, easy to use and clean.
The recipies could be a little more accurate but ...I can experiment on my own.
Being able to make two cookies at a time is a wondeful feature - my kids always eat one cookie after each cycle and we keep the other for the guests. Thank you!

Beautiful ice cream cones and sandwiches
This was so much fun to make small cones for ice cream and so beautifully decorated that everything came out perfect. I made all kinds of fillings from creams to puddings and filled them up. They are beautiful and very nordic in design. You can even just make cookies and also very pretty, easy to use, nothing to clean, and impressive to show.

Great results!
I never had a pizzelle baker before, but I love pizzelles, so when this showed up in the gold box, I decided to give it a try. I love it! It works great, the pizzelles don't stick and clean up is easy. It is also designed well, so it doesn't take up much space to store it. It comes with a few recipes and ideas for variations, which is all I've used so far. They are very good.

These cookies are addictive!
This is a real easy review to write. I mean, the thing makes cookies. It arrived, I unpacked it, and made about a zillion pizzelle's. I made regular ones, anise ones, almond ones, lemon ones, Amaretto ones, Nocello ones...you name it, I made it. The thing did just what it said it would do. It heated up, and made cookies. They said try 30 to 45 seconds, I found 1 minute more to my liking. After the initial heating up, I never had to stop. It never made me wait to reheat. The cookies never stuck to the grille, and the results of all of the cookies was the same. From first to last, the cookies came out consistently perfect.
I paid ten dollars more for this model than the other Villaware for two reasons. First, it's the new model, so I'm sure the older model will be going away, and second, this model has a 3 year warranty instead of the 1 year warranty on the older model. Well worth the ten dollar difference.

Very happy
I looked for a long time before I decided on this one, and I am very happy with my choice. Things I like are as follows:

1)Makes great waffles...fast (I've used it on 6 separate occassions so far, average time per waffle has been less than 3 minutes)Waffles have come out of non-stick surface perfectly every time

2)Easy clean up (non-stick is just that in this case, and stainless drip tray also cleans up very easily)

3)Compact... for a rotary waffle maker, handle folds down to further compress its footprint on your countertop

4)Solid construction, this thing is solidly built without being unweildy, seems like it will last a long time

Cool gadget at a fair price
What a cool kitchen gizmo! It seems sturdier than similar products i've priced, and it's also got interchangeable waffle/pizzelle/sandwich plates, a feature i haven't seen in any other model. (I wasn't sure i really *needed* this feature, but i love it. Makes great grilled cheese sandwiches! And if you've never tried pizzelles, you're in for a treat!) The plates themselves are very easy to switch -- and because they're removable, they're a snap to clean. Although the unit does take a couple of minutes to warm up, once it's up to temp it stays pretty consistent (makes it easier to time your waffles so they're predictably as browned you like them). One bit of advice: If you're using a low-fat batter, brush or spray a little vegetable oil on the plates (the plates have a nonstick finish, but low-fat batters still seem to stick a bit). Everything considered, this gadget is a great buy... i'm very pleased with both its quality and performance.

New Version of Old Favorite
I love this waffle maker! I had a 15-year old Belgian waffle maker by Toastmaster that recently quit on me, so I was thrilled when I found that Toastmaster still makes this waffle maker after a lot of searching. It's just like the old version that makes crisp, deep pocketed waffles better than any other waffle maker I have tried.

Wonderful Kitchen Addition
I gotta be honest, I bought this as a Mother's Day gift for my wife. She's probably thinking it's the greatest gift she's ever gotten because now I'm constantly asking her if she wants me to whip her up a batch of waffles! It stores easily and clean-up has not been an issue. There is a small rim to catch overfilling accidents and so far it's kept the spills to a minimum. Learning curve is very gentle. The "Waffle Tone" actually does a very nice job of telling you when it's done. The waffles themselves are very good and I was extremely pleased with how evenly it cooks both sides. You cannot tell the top from the bottom. One recommendation is to go easy on the spray/oil/grease. The non-stick surface works very well so too much additive causes the waffle to not brown/cook quite as evenly. Very little practice required to get it right.

Instruction book has a few recipes which are pretty good. Standard pancake mixes have a waffle option on them that works really well and takes half the time to prepare (just add egg and oil to the regular mix). I added a little vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar and..........well, I'm getting hungry again.

Very good choice.

Perfect waffle every time!
It's been absolutely amazing to me how every waffle I make with this waffle maker comes out perfect! I've had mine about 6 months now & maybe 100 waffles now have been produced with this magic machine! It beeps to let you know when ready to pour your batter, beeps when the waffle is ready & each and every time I open it I have an amazing perfect waffle waiting!

I found the recipe in the booklet to make too "egg-y" of a belgium waffle so I modified the recipe some & here's how I make my waffle batter the way I like it (the person who reported the bad review I see for this item probably had a batter mixture failure).

Here ya go (for 2 waffles): * 2 eggs separated * 2 cups flour * 1 cup milk * 1/2 teaspoon baking powder * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine * 1 teaspoon sugar * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1) Melt butter on low in microwave & set aside to cool a few minutes. 2) Separate your eggs. Whip the egg whites with wisk until a little fluffy. If you use EggBeaters (which are just egg whites anyway, you can use 2 tablespoons whipped & 2 tablespoons unwhipped). 3) Using a wooden spoon, mix all ingredients together except for egg whites & butter. 4) Fold in the whipped egg whites. 5) Pour in the melted butter (make sure cooled to a cloudy appearance & not clear or could cook your eggs in the batter). 6) Mix again & then if too thick, add additional milk until pourable consistency. 7) Use Pam Canola spray on waffle surfaces before pouring in the waffle maker. 8) Fully fill the waffle pan bottom (don't be sparing). 9) Voila, after your next beep & the green light after a few minutes, you should have a perfect waffle. Just lift out with a fork. Nothing should stick on the waffler except a little left over canola oil.

Serve with fresh strawberries, sliced, sugared (mixed with a little water) or with blueberries if you prefer. Always use 100% Canadian (not Vermont) Maple syrup.

Also, easy to clean & perfect for the micro-kitchen since it stands up on its side for storage. Since it looks so nice, chrome & all, mine stays out on display on my counter in my retro art deco styled & tiny kitchen.

Yummy! I've gained a few pounds because of this kitchen appliance. Good luck!

Amazing
This waffler makes perfect belgians every time and I don't think I can live without it.

Let me get two small complaints out of the way. The dial has numbers from 1-6 on 1/4 of the dial, but the dial turns entirely, so it is a little confusing. Just make sure you line it up with one of the numbers. Secondly, it has a loud beep that dies off at the end. It sounds very odd and I don't know if it is defective, or if that is the intended "waffle tone". But despite these complaints, I highly recommend this model.

Once hot, on setting 4 it takes about 2-3 minutes to cook each waffle. And it doesn't take long to get hot.

A few tips:
* Buy Krusteas Belgian waffle mix
* Buy one of those plastic handled scrub brushes for two dollars at walmart and give it a quick brush after using it. I find that using it dry cleans it up nicely and gets in the crevices. It also gets rid of some of the old brown oil that can build.
* Definitely use pam or some spray. You don't necessarily need to put it on before every single waffle, but definitely before the first one. I forgot to do this one time and i had to chisel the pieces out.
* Strawberries and whipped cream. The frozen stawberries are good enough. Pecans and syrup. Blueberries... Endless possibilities.
* Try adding chocolate chips right on top of the batter after you pour it on the iron.

Use it for dinner and invite some friends, they won't be disappointed!

Close to Waffle Perfection
I love my Flip 'n' Fluff! I've had 4 or 5 waffle bakers over the years and this is by far the best. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that the platens are not removeable for easy dishwasher cleaning. If they were I would have no quibbles whatsoever. As it is, as long as you give it a couple of quick spritz's of PAM and, this is important, DON'T overfill, you should have no problems with sticking. I've also found, as have some other reviewers, that letting the waffles cook a little longer than the light indicates will help with potential sticking. I've tried a couple of the recipes in the HB "cookbook" that comes with the baker as well as some of my own and they've all resulted in excellent waffles. Get this baker, you won't regret it!

It's so simple to use. But DO read the instructions!
Please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. It's obvious that some of them are from people who don't like to read instructions. First, the indicator lights are NOT supposed to tell you when the waffle is finished. One light simply tells you the unit is receiving power (i.e., it's plugged in). The other light tells you when the iron is hot enough to pour in the batter. The waffle is done in five minutes or when steam stops. All of that is in the instructions that come with the waffle maker. My waffles always come out golden brown.

You will have no problem with the batter sticking if you use the recipes for waffles, not pancakes. Waffle recipes include a small amount of cooking oil, which is needed to keep the waffles from sticking. Every box of mix I've ever purchased has alternate instructions for mixing waffle batter vs. pancake batter. Again, it's just a matter of reading the instructions. My waffles are easily removed from the waffle maker and NEVER stick.

I read the instructions and I get PERFECT waffles every time! I am DELIGHTED with my purchase!

Great choice
I got tired of paying $8-10 for waffles in New York City restaurants, so I decided to look for a good waffle iron that would satisfy my frequent cravings. I am a big fan of Villaware, which inspired me to first look for their products. I was, however, suprised to learn that the best rated and selling waffle maker on the Amazon was Hamilton Beach Flip 'n Fluff. After reading the reviews, I was persuaded that this was the product I wanted (plus it was a half price of the Villaware equvialent).

I got my waffle maker a week ago and I made waffles several times. They were truly big and fluffy, crispy outside and moist inside. The cooking time is only about 3 minutes. I would, however, like to suggest to use cooking spray the first time you use this product. My first two waffles sticked, but after that initial failure, I had no problems. The cleaning is a breeze. This product deserves the highest marks!
