Brita Faucet filter is the best we've found
We've tried all the faucet filters available and were not satisfied with any of them. Last year we bought a Brita and have never looked back. The water has absolutely NO taste after being filtered. Which is good. Before filtering it has a strong chlorine taste. My only complaint, and this is NOT Brita's fault, is that because our water has lots of particulate matter (which we were swallowing before we got the filter!) the filters last only 2-3 weeks, not months. But otherwise, it performs much better than the other major brands. Highly recommend.

Nice Deal!
I always get these filters from amazon.com, they are cheaper, and they ship it for free (when i buy 2 of them)...

what is there to say?
they work, they're afforable, and they make the L.A. tap water actually taste good. the only problem is that I go through them so fast because of how awful the tap water is out here... but who cares, it's worth it. much cheaper than buying bottled water.

Don't forget the Ice Cubes
I miss my whole house water filter now that I'm renting. But the PUR works very well. It was a little bit of a challenge getting the filter onto the faucet -- especially if you have big fingers. Careful not to strip the threads or you'll be buying a new faucet. Tighten as much as you can with your fingers and use plyers for the rest. The water tastes great, and now that I have to make ice with trays again, even the ice pops out easier than using regular water. My imagination? I still would like to send the water out someday to get it tested to see if this thing works like the water tastes -- says the "prove it to me" side.

Important Information
I had a Pur Plus water filtration system, but it developed a leak. The Pur company, with absolutely no hassles, sent me a new Ultimate faucet mount water filtration system. I found out that the Plus filter and the Ultimate filter are exactly the same shape and size. So if you are looking for a replacement filter for your Pur Plus you can use an Ultimate filter!

PUR FAUCET MOUNT FILTER
I HAVE USED THE PUR FAUCET FILTER FOR A FEW YEARS, AND FIND
IT WONDERFUL. IT REMOVES ALL THE BAD TASTE,AND MAKES THE WATER
TASTE AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN BOTTLED WATER.
THANKS PUR FOR SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT!

Even The Kids Drink More Water
For the longest time I have tried to get my family to drink more water. When my oldest, Pam went off to college, someone gave her one of these water filter pitchers as a gift. She finally cut down on her consumption of sodas and started drinking water. This summer while she was home, she put her pitcher in our fridge and I found my 10 year old drinking water all the time! Because he could get the water ice cold from the fridge and "it tastes better", he did not drink near as many sodas as he usually tries to get away with. With this pitcher I was finally able to accomplish the "we need to drink more water" goal that I had such a hard time reaching.

Quick and easy water
Very convienient for removing all the bad stuff from water quickly, easily, and cost effieiently. The filters are easy to change, and are not over priced. Highly reccomended.

Made me a water drinker
I was steered to this Pur water pitcher by my health-conscious sister. I went from drinking 5-10 big glasses of soda a day to strictly drinking water that is really delicious when filtered through this pitcher. I haven't tried the Brita water filter pitcher so I couldn't say which is better, but I do know that this one is very satisfactory to me!

Much better than faucet-mount...
My wife and I have immensely enjoyed the wonderful water we get from our Pur filtration pitcher.

It's very convenient -- just pour water into the top, and it will, albeit slowly, drip through the filter. Over time, as the filter clogs, it will get slower, so the key is to add more water every time you pour more out -- that way, it's filtering while you are drinking and you aren't waiting.

It's actually much more convenient than the faucet-mount filters, which inevitably leak and get painfully slow and force you to wait...

Pur is better than Brita, by the way, if you get the Ultimate filters, which filter out cryptosporidium and giardia in addition to chemicals and gunk. Brita doesn't do that; it's an important feature if you have iffy water systems (Mexico, Russia) or a weak immune system...

brita water filter
I have previously used the Brita water container, but the on tap water filter system is wonderfully easy to use! NO more awkard handling of a big water pitcher. I also enjoy the ability to switch between unfiltered and filtered water. It is small in size and not too bad to look at.

These Filters are the best Brita have come up with yet!!
My wife and I were shopping for Brita filters at the store down the street and I was pretty scared when I saw these filters were the only they had. What I basically thought was, oh man, Brita has made a new filter and we are all going to have to upgrade. HOW WRONG I WAS ABOUT THAT. BRITA HAS TOTALLY OUTDONE THEMSELVES WITH THIS FILTER!!! NOT ONLY DOES THE FILTER SAY: NEW! NOUVEAU! ON IT, BUT IT IS ALSO CHROME PLASTIC INSTEAD OF WHITE. THIS MORE THAN JUSTIFIES PAYING THE REGULAR PRICE FOR THE FILTER INSTEAD OF THE USUAL DEEPLY DISCOUNTED PRICES WE WERE PAYING A MONTH OR SO AGO!!

GO AMAZON!! GO BRITA! WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT???

5 stars cos 4 would be too few..

Tinker toys
This was such a fun job putting the system together and the best part was,I could configure it anyway I wanted. I had some dead spots in my aquarium and once even killed all my fish when I moved a rock releasing anaerobic bacterial everywhere. I have a 100 gallon saltwater aquarium and it was a snap to install and when I needed some advice I just called bigfishtanks.com and they helped me achieve a better system than I had originally designed. Good product, great support.

    Love, love, love it!
I got this as a wedding gift, and I have to say it's the best gift ever. I drink a lot of water, and this handy water container is the best I've had. It holds a lot of water, and it's so convenient. I like that I don't have to take it out of the fridge to get a glass of water. My water tastes great. One filter lasted me more than a year.

    Iced tea fan
Living here in Texas we dring allot of iced tea with meals at home and restaurants. I received my Pure Plus dispenser last week and made my first pitcher of iced tea. I was blown away at how much better it was, this thing is amazing. It not only makes water better than bottled but has the capacity to hold much more than the little pitchers you so often see.

    Much better than faucet-mount...

Good filter, but it won't soften your water
These filters work fine for improving the taste of water and removing impurities, but when it comes to the way it feels in your mouth Brita takes it up a notch. Brita filters are the only filters on the market that soften water with silver oxide pellets that act just like expensive water softening equipment. From what I can tell the Brita filters (dispensers, pitchers, and replacement filters) are all less expensive than Pur.

Pur over Brita, and neither softens water.
Pur makes water filters for campers and backpackers, proving their abilities with water far worse and more suspect than your home tap. Only Katadyn has a better reputation for personal filtration, and Katadyn bought Pur. Rest assured, these are technologically solid and proven filters.

So why Pur? I looked at Brita and Pur back in 1998, and found that Pur was filtering more harmful elements than Brita. While Brita may or may not have caught up, it hasn't surpassed Pur in quality, and I've put my trust in Pur before. Going with proven leaders, especially with your water, is smart.

These filters have low-tech indicators that let you know when an allotaed volume of water has passed through the filter. If your water is generally clean, you can go a week or so past the "expiration" date. These filters are more expensive than Brita filters for pitchers, but I believe Pur is still catching more bad stuff.

Finally, there are no "silver oxide pellets" in Brita filters. Don't take my word for it: check their website for proof. In fact, Brita specifically says it does not filter out sodium, the primary "hard" component of hard water.

So make your choice by visiting each website, and seeing the list of harmful impurities and organisms filtered out; also check micron-sizes of filter elements and filter pores; and lastly, see which company has technology across the entire spectrum of filtration needs. You'll probably be shopping for a Pur 10-pack soon enough...

    The Best Water I've Tasted
My roommates always used Brita, but when I moved out and shopped for a water filter on my own, Pur was definitely the better choice. The filters are better-made and have a more-sophisticated filtering process, plus they automatically tell you when it's time to change them. The pitcher-style filter is best because it's easier to move it in/out of the fridge when I want cold/room temp. water, etc (unlike the under-sink ones that are attached to your faucet). I will never go back to Brita.
