I grew up in a Scandinavian family from Vashon Island, Washington and have such fond memories of these light and airy delectable treasures during the holiday season and the cold winter months.

Just bought myself (from Amazon) a second set to share, since I also like the ease of making Swedish Rosettes and the fact they are lighter than cake donuts and come close to the French curl donuts we prefer.

The Rosettes come with a small recipe book, are easy to clean and store and are an item we requested from our grandmothers estate when she passed away. There are some special customs I really feel are important and making rosettes with my family here in our Sierra home is one.

I come from a small farming community, in the mid-west. My family was of German descent. The neighbor lady use to make these wispy cookies that are so thin and crispy that they just melt in your mouth. Also, when I went to my aunt's houses, many of them had these wonderful delights. I use to wish that my own Mother would make some of these cookies, but she would always say that it took a special tool that she didn't have and couldn't find.
Here I am, almost 60 years old. I ordered this special tool and now I am impressing all of my friends with these special treats. No one can eat just one. I must admit that it does take a bit of practice to turn out the beautiful rosettes. However, it is much cooler than heating up an oven to turn out the wonderful wish from my past.

I have used this tool to make the rosettes. They are a wonderful light cookie that you dust with powder sugar. Warning: in our house they are gobbled up as quickly as they are made. They are deep fried so it is a job to be done by an adult, or teen age chef in the making. These cookies bring back wonderful memories for me, growing up it was mine and my sisters job to dust the cookies with the powder sugar. My older sister was allowed to make these pretty cookies, I was very envious. But, I did get to eat them! They are a wonderful addition to any holiday cookie collection. They are pretty, light and above all delicious! ENJOY.

I bought these metal measuring spoons to replace a plastic set that got melted in the dishwasher. I won't have that problem with these. These are handy to use and can be clipped together or separated.

I really bought these measuring spoons to match the Michael Graves measuring cups that I was planning to buy, and I am sure glad that I did. The are the easiest to use measuring spoons that I have ever used. The unique handles seem just right. You can use them equally well with either hand. It seemed with the dipper type spoons that I previously used I was always changing hands, and the spoon was always in th wrong hand. With these you can forget that. You can tell the size of each of them just by looking at them, but I wish that they would have embossed the sizes all a little larger and painted them white. Black on black is hard to see, especially when the numbers are so small.

These are just nice. Nice quality, great design, decent price. They are easy to clean, easy to use, easy to hang - easy to like. Get them along with a set of the Michael Graves cups, and while your cooking may still suck, you'll at least be doing it in style.

This is great set. The 11 cutters are conveniently stored in a little tin. They can not only be used as cookie cutters, but also as a ring mold for wonderful plate presentations (providing you don't need lots of height), and a friend recently used them to cut off the crusts of cocktail pumpernickel bread for tea sandwiches. The smaller cutters can be used to cut holes in the sugar cookie dough of larger cookies. If you bake half with and half without the hole in the middle, you can add raspberry jam to the ones without holes, sprinkle powdered sugar on the ones with holes, and combine the two. I too hand wash mine.

Over the years, I've collected lots of cookie cutters. I keep most of them in a plastic storage box in my pantry because I try to keep my kitchen drawers from getting too cluttered. However, I do keep some of my sets of Ateco boxed cutters in a drawer because their storage cans are small and compact, and I use them a lot. Ateco is a quality manufacturer of baking accessories. This set has 11 plain round stainless steel cutters in graduated shapes, from 3/4 inch to 3 5/8 inches. They nest perfectly in their storage can, which has a tight lid so the cutters don't spill out into the drawer.

I only use a few of these round cutters on a regular basis though. I find that most of the cutters are too small for anything other than specialty baking. Although Ateco says that their cutters are dishwasher-safe, I hand wash mine because I've found that the dishwasher doesn't always get them clean.

This spatula makes frosting simple to complex cakes very easy. Works well with many different icings.

Like all my KitchenAid products, this crimper is useful and durable! Works great for making professional looking crimped edges on pies, I can't wait to use it more over the holiday season. :D Highly recommend!

I love apple pie, but it just doesn't seem the same without a crimped edge. This crimper makes short work of any kind of pastry you'd care to throw at it - choux, shortcrust, even suet. Your pies will look like the one's grandma used to make, and taste even nicer!
Note - this crimper cannot be used on human hair.

This set is SO handy! My mom has one and after trying hers I am hooked. :) I have just ordered one for myself.

For some reason, this tapered rolling pin excels at rolling out pastry dough. I think you can apply more pressure in the middle of the rolling pin and that makes the dough spread out more easily than just continuous even pressure of a normal rolling pin.

I tend to use both the old-fashioned traditional rolling pin and this one. I use the traditional one for rolling out dough I need in a square/rectangle shape and the tapered one for rolling out pastry dough and tortillas.

So, if you are wondering why it is so hard to roll out circles of dough, try this rolling pin and I can promise you will have a smile on your face! French pastry makers have this one covered!

Much easier to use than traditional rolling pin because instead of gripping the handles, your handles glide over the top making rolling much less effort. The tapered thin rolling pin enables me to have more control over the thickness of the dough. I can press down hard or use a light hand.
