Long lasting and easy to use!
I've had my Wilton tip set for at least a decade now, and I have yet to replace any of the tips. In fact, my son once decorated cookies and accidentally dropped the tip down the disposal... and it came out scratched but without dents or bends in it! The tips clean out easily with hot water and a little scrub brush, and they stack neatly on their little pegs in the case. I've never been able to successfully use the rose nail, though, and it could really use several more couplers... especially when you're decorating with several different color icings!

Amateur cake decorator
I just took a cake decorating class and was greatly inspired to try it at home. I found that other kits claiming to have 50 plus pieces were overwhelming! This set, however, is great for a novice such as myself. It includes the basic tips used in class as well as the more intricate ones used to make flowers. Also, I love this set because it is ALL tip -- I already have bags and spatulas and so forth. Other kits are full of things other than tips which one can pick up "a la cart" inexpensively. I also love Wilton as they are the leaders in baking products. Great diversity in this set. I only wish there were one extra coupler.

Not for beginners!
It looks like it would be a good buy. But it really wasn't for me. I purchased this a few months ago when I began decorating cakes. The only thing good I can say about the set is the book was very helpful and easy to follow. The food coloring, while professional coloring, was very hard to use (no dropper), measure (no dropper) and horribly stained everything it came in contact with. It is not for beginners! And while you do get a good assortment of tips - you may find that you do not use half of them. I found I could pick out tips at my local Five and Dime Store for less than a dollar. And if you are considering getting this as a gift for a cake decorating enthusiast, chances are they already have all the tips they would have used from this set.

Wilton Cake Decorating Set
I have two daughters who are interested in decorating cakes. This is priced right for the beginner to get all she or he needs to get started. I learned how to decorate cakes 18 years ago and still use my original tips. They must last forever! This is a wide selection of tips that will allow you to make many designs, practically any that you can think of!

Super for Salmon
This plank is great if you live in the Northwest and can get fresh Salmon--it comes out tasting very sweet and tender. The plank is very sturdy, but not too heavy to use, and I've also used it to cook other foods. But it's best with Salmon, take my word for it. Don't let the so-so art on it throw you off, this cooking plank is excellent.

Good brush, but the natural bristles aren't heatproof!
This brush is easy to clean and works well. However, after having it in our kitchen for at least 3 years, it melted one afternoon on contact with a hot pan. So it's a good long-lasting brush, but owners should be careful not to get it too hot!

I so wished I liked this one...
The tips are fine... the unit that holds the filling is not the right material. I don't know if it needs to be made of a different material, or vented...or a different shape but....

Tupperware usually comes out with some real winners. In theory this should have been one. It just falls short of the promise.

Until they work out the design flaws (and I will be looking forward to that very much) I will stick to pastry tips and a zip loc bag...which works fine and doesn't need clean-up.

Three stars for the concept though

good concept
this porduct is very invovative but require more modifcation in plastic matrials to be more flexbile

No more pastry bags -- thank goodness!
This cute and nifty little plastic ball is easier to fill and handle than a pastry bag, and you can store and refrigerate food in it for later use. I was thrilled at how easily I was able to pipe lines of little rosettes all over my son's birthday cake. I almost find excuses to use this, like piping stars of mashed potato all over my shepherd's pie or swirls of whipped cream over Belgian waffles. There is indeed a bit of stuff that gets left inside the ball -- not all of it can be piped out by squeezing the ball -- but that happens with a pastry bag, too. There's always some waste and/or clean-up involved when you want to get fancy with your food. I guess the real advantages here over pastry bags are (1) the ease of handling (just squeezing; no oozing out the top, as with a pastry bag), and (2) the ease of storage or refrigeration. All in all, I am glad to have this tool.

Digital Fork Thermometer

Sold me the wrong damn fork
Do you see in the picture that the forks are PLASTIC with little metal tips sticking out of it? That's the style I wanted. Instead, they sent me a model where the entire forks were stainless steel. DAMN IT.

    Bad Product Quality.
Even with a fresh battery, the display goes blank the moment I stick it into the cooking meat. I am not able to get the temperature reading that I need when I need it. In fact, the only temperature reading that I was able to successfully get with this thing is of ambient outside temperature. In my humble opinion, this product is a waste of money.

    This works well.
I am the barbecue king. I use this often. It works, it's easy, it simplifies the task.

    Nice addtion to the kitchen
This cookie press is just what I was looking for. Some of the discs are easier to use than othes, but it is fun and makes great cookies. It is pretty easy to clean and to learn. With the enclosed directions no one could go wrong with this.

Easy to use for a first time cookie press user....
I received this press as a Christmas present, and just used it for the first time last night. I have never used a cookie press before, so I can't compare it to any other, but as a first time user, I can say that this was very simple to use and very easy to clean. The cookies come out looking very professional and the extra barrel included in the box made it easy to get ready for the next batch--making the whole process very quick. I am very pleased with mine, and knowing it was this easy to use ensures I will be using it again and again.

    Easy to use
I have only used this a few times, but both times it made making cookies easier and it was also very easy to clean. I didn't use chilled sheets, though I did not grease them - and I still didn't have any problems. Highly recommend!

    OXO Softworks 6-pc. Tool Set
    Made by OXO
      Amazon base price: $19.99
      Average review score:

      Great, but...
OXO is a great company with a lot of great products. I love all of their kitchen stuff. If you don't cook much, this is a good set to get. If you're like me and do a lot of stuff in the kitchen, get the 19pc. set. It will have more things that you can use and you won't have to spend when buying items individually.

Not the best OXO has to offer
We got this set for our wedding and also received some individual OXO utensils. Just about anything from OXO is great. It's hard to see how basic kitchen utensil design can be improved upon, but OXO has done it. That being said, the plastic on this set is not the same as the individually purchased utensils. The plastic on these is more flexible, but they were cheaper if you do the math so it makes sense. Despite this, I still think they are just fine for using in applications where metal might scratch. I use everything in the set, but sometimes I reach first for the stronger OXO ones depending on the application. If strength for really thick stirring and such is your priority, I suggest buying your pieces individually from OXO, but if you want a pretty good deal for how many utensils you get, this set is a great way to go!

Response to "Kitchen and Housewares enthusiast"
The cause of the spoon or spatula falling out of the pot when you leave it in the pot or on the pot is just that ... leaving it in or on the pot. Take the spoon or spatula out/off of the pot and place on a dish close by your pot, so that it can easily be used.

Good product, but not worth price
I have one of these and I like it. The pizza comes out really well. I have used it 5 times and owned it for 2 months. No breakage, though it is dirty and impossible to clean. However, its too small. I can make a pizza for 2, but thats it.

Its also hard to use. You have to assemble the pizza on something else and then put it on the stone.
This is not as easy as it sounds. I have experimented with foil, a plate, a cutting board. What I need is a pizza peel which is a big wooden spatula looking thing. But I dont have one, so for now I struggle with sliding things onto the stone.

My advice is to get around 4 unglazed quarry stones at your hardware or tile store. They should be less than $1 each. Line your oven rack with them and get a pizza peel. Then you can assemble your pizzas and put them in the oven on top of the stones. You can use the peel to remove the pizza when its done.

The stones are useful for other things as well such as baking bread or warming premade pizzas. I alse hear that its good to cook pie on top of a stone.

Great for cooking pizzas but hard to clean!
I've had this pizza stone for some months now and I've used it a number of times. This stone is muhc more suited for a ready made pizza from the grocery store rather than a pizza you make from scratch. Also it's a bit small (but just the right size for frozen grocery store pizzas) and can be hard to clean, you have to clean it right away after the pizza is done. In any event, it's way better than a metal tray!

      Great deal for the price
We have had this stone for several months now and it is essential for making the perfect pizza. We have mastered the process and have sworn off commercial pizza joints. It was tricky at first trying to slide the pizza onto the stone. We found that using a piece of cardboard with a sprinkling of corn meal works wonders. We also place the pizza in the freezer so that the dough can firm up a bit. It makes the pizza much easier to slide. We get perfect pizzas every time. The recipe in the booklet makes wonderful pizza dough. It comes out nice and crispy and has a great flavor. Overall this is a great stone and I love the carrying rack.
