For me, opening old vintage wine was not just a source of excitement, but also a bit of a pain in the you-know-where. The fear of breaking the cork or dropping crumbs of cork into the wine was pretty much real, until I got the Screwpull Elegance. With this magical piece of machinery, I can uncork just about anything with confidence. It showed me that you don't necessarily have to be an experienced sommlier to be able to open old vintage wine. As long as you've got the right tools, anybody can!

I bought this corkscrew for my husband two years ago and I'd be hard pressed to count (or admit) how many bottles of wine we have opened with it! Unfortunately, this past weekend we had a "Sullivan Reunion" and suffice it to say the opener was working non-stop. However, someone dropped it and the little top piece (like a small screw cap) that is directly below the upper handle snapped off and was lost. I have taken the screwpull to the hardware store to try and fit something else for that piece but to no avail. There are no replacement parts I've seen on line and until I can find one, the thing is useless. I'm open for suggestions! I just need that tiny piece that screws on top which allows the screw part to move up and down. We are disappointed...welcoming any input! We have all this wine and no "fun" opener...imagine our horror.

My sister bought one for me as a Christmas gift...I thought she was crazy spending so much on a "corkscrew." However, after using the Screwpull, I soon knew it was well worth the cost. The opener runs very smooth and easy...never a damaged cork! It's also very sturdy yet light and feels great in your hands. I used to buy a new wine opener every year-- no longer! This is a must for wine lovers! Consider this an investment and buy it!

This is the BEST. That is no understatement. I bought the red one and am so impressed. The nice balance and smooth texture and perfect weight make this a gem to use. It allows me to get a comfortable grip that encompasses my entire palm, so that even the toughest bottle cap is an ease to remove. The chrome with the red is so gorgeous that it is an item I like having out for all to see. I also like it because its size makes it impossible to get lost in the utensil drawer. I am going to buy one for a friend who has arthritis because of a carpal tunnel injury.

This is the best bottle opener / billy club made. I think we are all in agreement that the KitchenAid bottle opener will not stop at opening those stubborn caps, but you can keep it next to your front door for security purposes if you live in the city.

This BBQ Kit is as cool in person as it looks online. The pieces are all very good quality and everything you need is included. I like the aluminum case so we can take it camping with us. I know my friende will be green with envy when I start dishing up the ribs this summer with the great spatula.

The perfect gift for the Bar-B-Q guru. I bought this as a gift and have never seen such a huge smile. The pieces are a beautiful stainless and very durable. Definately a good value.

I bought for my bro's birthday, now I want one! Top quality, everything you need, and very sturdy, which is a plus on the grill. Warning, though, knife and serated edge on spatula are very sharp--not for kids who can't handle themselves. Main pieces are really long so you don't get burnt over the grill. Heads for the grill scrubber were $5, totally replaceable. Corn cobbers are really cute, too. Perfect gift for a bbq'r!

This corkscrew is a pleasure from start to finish. For starters, it looks great: high-quality metals, high-tech finish, precision machining. It catches the eye in an artistic way. Then the feel: solid, hefty, tight, crisp action, precise movement. Compared to the cheap plastic ones, it's a Mercedes vs. a Yugo. And let's not forget that it pulls corks -- like no other corkscrew can! Cut the foil (BTW, the included foil cutter is also of superior quality), slip the Screwpull on the neck of the bottle, and VOOM! A quick stroke in and out, and the cork is pulled in a flash. The large, heavy lever makes it easy even for smaller people to yank corks. A couple of years ago I bought the plastic Screwpull and I liked it, but this time I thought I'd indulge myself. Am I ever glad I did! This model is sooo much nicer. Incidentally, you can find replacement screws for the Elegance that have ball bearings in them -- Wow! Ultra-smooth and silky. Check the Le Creuset website for dealers. I love this item. It's a combination of advanced function and true luxury. Want a splurge that you can get good use out of for years? Here it is. Highly recommended.

...These types of corkscrews work phenomenally well and you'll find yourself just itching to crack open a bottle of wine just to use this amazing device. Amazon.com sells similar corkscrews for far less, and as long as it's all-metal construction, there's no need to spend $$$ for this one. Buy the $$$[less expensive] model and spend the rest of a few bottles of decent wine!

Definately not a necessity, but absolutely a pleasure to use. Comfortably solid and heavy in your hands, after pulling the first cork you'll be looking for excuses to open more wine! Comes with a replacement worm, but I haven't worn out the first one after a year of normal use. The foil cutter works well, the stand is sturdy.

Spendy, yes, but if you're looking for a fabulous gift for your wine loving friend, or a way to spoil yourself, you won't regret this purchase.

Put a lanyard through the hole and wear it around your neck. You will be ready to open any bottle you find as well as fend off attackers. No one will mess with you with this baby in your hand. Bottles will fear you as well...but after you pop the top off they will thank you. I promise.

We'd been looking for a bottle opener that would look good on our bar - not any of those "cutsey" openers that don't really work or are supposed to be "conversation pieces."

We are, of course, familiar with other KitchenAid products, and so sent for this. It's perfect, and can pop a cap quicker and more easily than any opener we've ever seen.

We have looked all over for something to save those precious wines once opened. The husband is in love with the ease of use - just pop it in the bottle and a slight pressure makes a tight seal. VERY SEXY LOOKING! The price for 3 of these is a bargain. [....]

Lets face it, wine drinkers tend to be a bit on the snobby side (well, as long as they aren't NightTrain drinkers). Many wine-stoppers are just too darn plasticy for such a market. These, on the other hand, are very very nice. These are esthetically appealing as well as function. The wood is beautiful, and they have a very nice hefty feel. Makes a great gift!

These winestoppers were much more than I expected when I ordered them. First of all, the woodtops, which match the holder, look very nice on a countertop. Also, I was very pleased with the weight of each stopper. They are not light and flimsy--rather quite heavy and sit very nicely in the bottle. Also, they are not very tall so I can still stand the bottles upright if I choose to refrigerate the wine. I was so tired of trying to squeeze corks back into a partially used bottle--these stoppers are just the ticket. They look nice and work perfectly. I'm going to give a few sets for Christmas gifts!

Being a wine lover, I've used all kinds of corkscrews, from your basic twist model to the kind with the "wings" to the two-pronged kind. Finally, I received the screwpull (minus the foil cutter) as a gift, and my search for the perfect corkscrew came to an end! As others have said, the screwpull effort lifts the cork up, so there's no pulling--all you do is simiply turn the easy-use-lever at the top of the device. The screwpull has never failed to remove a cork; on the rare occasions when it had trouble removing the cork on the first try, simply starting over solved the problem. Spend a little money to buy this corkscrew and you'll never need to buy another again.

The Screwpull corkscrew (okay, "wine opener") is by far the easiest and clever I've owned. Its non-stick coated and sharp-ended worm glides into the cork and pulls it out cleanly and effortlessly. Because of the coating, it is less likely to crumble a cork. The sides of the device keep the pull in place so you're able to guide the worm straight down the center.

As a former waitress, I always hated the metal and bulky corkscrews favored by most of my friends. The worms were always too thick and never sharp enough; the rings meant to keep the opener on the bottle neck had a tendency to slip or list, leading to a crooked insertion. I preferred the simple waiter corkscrew - until I found the Screwpull. Now I use nothing else. My only adjustment has been putting the bottle on the table to open it. (With a waiter's corkscrew, you hold the bottle.)

This is a great gift for the wine lover. While you're at it, buy one for yourself.

We purchased this wine opener 12 years ago on the recommendation of a sales clerk at a kitchen supply store. At the time I thought $20 was a lot to pay for a corkscrew, but after using it at least once a week for the past 12 years I can't imagine using another type of wine opener.

The Kitchenaid close combat bludgeoning tool is a leap forward in personal protection technology sure to satisfy the most discriminating of afficionados of home and self defence. With sharp aesthetics and exquisite performance it is a truly welcome addition to any medium sized arsenal. It has good balance and response with minimal recoil, and by way of its ergonomic design it can easily fit under a belt or in a shoulder holster (not included). Versatility, it appears, is the approach that Kitchenaid chose in the design of the tool; with little or no practice even a relative novice can easily master all of its functions. A particularly useful feature is the capability to open bottle caps of standard issue size. In short, this tool is an option worthy of consideration for anyone on the lookout for a compact, yet effective tool requiring a minimum of training to operate effectively.

No other bottle opener can compare to this one. It is large and sturdy; you certainly will not have any problems opening any bottles. The handle is big so you can really get a firm grip on it and it is very easy to clean. Excellent quality, highly recommended!

When I buy something, I like it to work well and be well made. This bottle opener fits the bill. It is solid, and feels like it will last forever. It also opens bottles well. It may sound crazy to get excited about a utensil, but it is such a pleasure using this tool. Many of the openers that I see are made of softer metal that will not last. Bottle caps are steel, so anything like solid brass will eventually wear out. Buy this and you will find that you wish you had bought it sooner.

Adding this decanter to your wine accessories may very well save you a bundle. It can improve the taste of less expensive wines.

It has long been my habit to experiment with various types of wines at various prices, usually side by side. Generally I let the wine breathe in the bottle for a bit, then a bit more in the glass. I had found many of the "Oak" california wines a bit disappointing in particular because of the sharpness in the initial taste.

I purchased this decanter mainly to have a more attractive means of serving wine to guests. The decanter met that objective admirably but more importantly it improved the taste of the first wines I tried in it. I went back an purchased some of the wines I had previously dismissed and found that the decanter really does take the edge off making the wine more supple and smooth.

Its not all good news. In some instances the wine did not improve and in fact became thin and lack some of its previous life. I also noticed immediately (being a fanatic for not mixing wines) that if I was sampling several wines that it took a long while for the decanter to dry (and no use trying to wipe it out due to its shape). Thus you are somewhat limited to what you can decant at one setting (one decanter, one wine).

That being said I am contemplating buying a couple more so that I can continue my side by side examinations of wines and decant them all equally. If you buy one I hope you enjoy.

Great Decanter: not expensive, pretty and useful for developing great aromas and flavors hidden in a wine. It's true that not all wines should be decanted, but for the ones that should be, it's terrific!

This decanter is not only lovely to look at with its classic lines, it's great to use.

This is a fantastic bottle opener. Love it. Love the color, love the size, love the weight.

My only drawback, and why I couldn't give it 5 stars, was because it doesn't have one little piece of metal on it. I had planned on putting it on my knife magnet so that it would be on "display" in my kitchen. Alas, the silver part is not metal.

But - other than that - it's handy - especially for people who need something to grip. For an older person or someone that has strength or gripping issues - the large size is great.

Don't get all excited, it is just a bottle opener. You get what you pay for, this one is high quality, and more expensive. If you are a KitchenAid nut, this one is great for you. If not, it is an expensive bottle opener.

I bought this because it came up in my Gold Box. My old, wimpy can opener has bent too many times and it's starting to get soft. I cannot imagine this can opener bending, much less succumbing to metal fatigue.
