The tongs are excellent quality and work extremely well.

I like these salad tongs especially for the locking position it has. When locked, the tongs stay nicely in the salad bowl, as well as in the drawer when not in use. I like the appearance of the tongs as well.

These salad tongs fits so nicely in a salad bowl because of its easy fold lock. The design is right, the price it right, and makes a nice gift.

I picked these up in a friday sale and its a great value for all 3 tools. I would have paid more for the tongs alone in a regular store. The tongs are solid, have a locking clasp and are dishwasher safe. The separator and baster are made of heavy duty plastic.

A big fan of Pedrini products, even I was pleasantly surprised by the size, quality and craftsmanship of these tools! The tongs alone are worth purchasing this set for. And while many people only think of using a baster and a gravy separator around Thanksgiving, these tools are indispensable all through the year. Use the baster to remove extra liquid from your crock-pot dishes and stews, then reduce/thicken it in a saucepan before returning it to the pot. The gravy separator makes an excellent dispenser for pancake and crepe batter - very easy to control. An excellent set.

I just love the Italians and their products. This roasting set is wonderful. The gravy sep. is heavy weight and works well. The baster is acrylic and unbreakable and the tongs look as good as they work.

This is my very first non-entertainment related purchase as I can barely boil water so kitchen stuff is not usually on the things to buy list; notwithstanding most of the cookware/utensils that I have are OXO as they tend to be of excellent quality and easy on the hands.

For the first time since I left home, I actually purchased tongs as I've always seen how my mom usse them all the time to move "stuff" around with much ease. So I got the babies and they are awesome. No more trying to turn over food in the oven and fearing first degree burns if you don't happen to grab the food well.

The tongs are really sturdy, lock easily to take less space, and the nylon heads don't destroy your teflon as metal ones tend to. They also stand up to a lot of heat so they don't melt.

These won't change your life but if you need tongs these are awesome. Now if OXO could make something to make me a cook.

I have the same tongs with metal heads and always gingerly pick up whatever I'm cooking for fear of scratching my pots and pans. I usually end up getting stung by popping oil more often than not because of this. But with these bad boys, there's no fear of scratching so it sames me and my cookware!

BTW, I'm not sure what's up with Kitchen, Inc but they say it takes 1 to 2 weeks to ship - for me it was over 5 weeks!

I realize these tongs were designed with the home cook in mind (the cute rubber grips on the handles) but, these are the best tongs for the restaurant I've come across. They're beefy enough to stand up to commercial kitchen abuse and laugh it off. In fact, they're heavier than anything I've found in the restaurant supply stores. In the kitchen we use tongs as hands, pulling plates and pans. These tongs are so solid they can grip a stack of hot saute pans, or stack of heated bowls with confidence. The jaws have a nice wide grip, and the width of the handles prevents the tongs from "rolling" in the hand like most tongs when you have a heavy load.
Anyone doing saute in a commercial kitchen needs to check these out. I ripped the cute rubber grips off for sanitation reasons but, these are excellent tongs. (Just leave them unattended at your station and see how quickly the cook next to you asks you where you got them.)

Bottom line- when you're bartending a few big parties at home and you're serving ridiculous amounts of drinks and you rely on the ice tong a lot, grips help and a tong that clamps everytime you put that sucker in the bucket is something worth investing esp. when it'll set you back only a few bucks. It's a good time-saver and a comfort for your hands.

These locking tongs are of superb quality (well designed, heavy-gauge steel, solidly made and ergonomic locking mechanism, strong business end, smoothly finished). They're easy and comfortable to handle and open & lock. They're strong enough to use as a spatula as well as flipper and whisk. The smoothly rounded ends are easy on cookware, and can even be used gently on nonstick cookware. You will find these a joy to use.

The first thing I noticed about these tongs when I got them was the weight. I was impressed by the weight of them. Oneida often makes quality stainless steel products but I was suprisingly amazed by the quality of such a simple product. When I shopped for salad tongs, I ended up buying the cheapest of the selection found on Amazon.com but I was by no means cheated on quality. Although heavy, the tongs were not too heavy. The function of the tongs (opening and closing) was easy. The handle where you place your fingers is relatively comfortable and decent size. The fork and spoon part of the tongs is large enough to serve good portions with each scoop without skimping or loosing anything as you serve.

I completely recommend these BBQ tongs. They hold onto a big steak just as well as a small hotdog, yet they don't get hot in your hands because of the rubber grips. And if you have big cooking mitts on, the grips give you a bigger surface to hold on to.

Great buy for the money, and a good accessory for any BBQ chef!

I bought a pair of these as a Mother's day gift, they seem to be satisfactory. The price & style appealed to me, price didn't seem too bad either. I did a little searching around for tongs and had difficulty finding anything, Amazon has a great selection and these tongs looked as good as any here.
You should be aware that the 12 inch length is total length, not from your hand to the end. I was a little disappointed to see that they're made in China, so much is these days.

Great balance and tension make these tongs a pleasure to use. I bought them for the grill, but use them for a million other things in the kitchen. I got a small taste of what arthritis sufferers must endure when I whacked my hand on something a couple weeks ago & bruised it badly. My grip strength was greatly reduced & it hurt to try to squeeze anything... this was the only tool in my kitchen that I could still use easily. The locking mechanism is sturdy, simple to operate, & makes storage easy too. Get 'em and you'll find that they move to the top of the "always in the dishwasher" list, because you'll use them that much!

I had a smallish pair of tongs for turning eggplant and cutlets while sauteeing. Tired of burnt fingers, I invested in the locking OXO tongs. Good move. The lock allows you to put the tongs in a drawer, and you just pull the ring at the top to unlock and get the full spread of the tongs.

The longer handle, insulated with plastic, means your hands stay cool and more importantly, at a distance from spitting bacon, hot slices of eggplant or a frying chicken breast. They also work fine on the outdoor barbecue grill, though LONGER tongs would be good if your grill is larger than my puny one.
