Great productThis is a great gift item because you get a lot for the relatively inexpensive price. The brushed stainless steel is lovely and has a good feel to it. It adds a high end look to the kitchen, especially since stainless is such a popular look for upscale kitchens. My favorite piece is the pasta utensil.

LOVE THE KNIFE-WHAT'S WITH THE PEN?IS THIS A CASE OF THE SWORD IS MIGHTIER THAN THE PEN?
I have the knife, got it alone without the pet pen.
The knife is everything you'd expect from Swiss Army, Razor SHARP
on first contact, the scisors are small, but mighty, and cut with
a amazing accutacy considering their size, even if not considering their size. Hey, it's Swiss Army...not a copy. The finish is a little snappy see through cool lacque red. Mine came with a key chain, perfect slim pocket knife, that can really comes in handy when you need one you can count on, with no misleading bulge in your in your trousers. The metal nail file is almost just as lacking as most others you'll find, but everything else is top grade Swiss Army.

A great gift for wine loversI myself keep a pretty cheap, standard corkscrew at home, but have given this model repeatedly for events from engagements and housewarmings to Christmas. Easy to use, impressive to look at - a good gift for wine lovers.
Worth every penny...Coming from a woman who loves to throw dinner parties, isn't afraid to cook just about anything and yet never quite is able to open the darn wine bottle, this product is superb!!! I have often poked corks down into the wine out of sheer frustration and this little number opens the bottle with ease in less than 30 seconds. It is amazing and makes a great gift to others or to yourself.
Love this corkscrew!I have very little strength in my hands, and I have always found it difficult to open wine bottles. I used the Ah-So corkscrew for years, but it wasn't working for me as well as it used to. The "rabbit" does it all in seconds - easily, quickly and without muss or fuss. It's a great wedding or shower gift, too. I can't imagine what life like would be without it.

I so wished I liked this one...The tips are fine... the unit that holds the filling is not the right material. I don't know if it needs to be made of a different material, or vented...or a different shape but....
Tupperware usually comes out with some real winners. In theory this should have been one. It just falls short of the promise.
Until they work out the design flaws (and I will be looking forward to that very much) I will stick to pastry tips and a zip loc bag...which works fine and doesn't need clean-up.
Three stars for the concept though
good conceptthis porduct is very invovative but require more modifcation in plastic matrials to be more flexbile
No more pastry bags -- thank goodness! This cute and nifty little plastic ball is easier to fill and handle than a pastry bag, and you can store and refrigerate food in it for later use. I was thrilled at how easily I was able to pipe lines of little rosettes all over my son's birthday cake. I almost find excuses to use this, like piping stars of mashed potato all over my shepherd's pie or swirls of whipped cream over Belgian waffles. There is indeed a bit of stuff that gets left inside the ball -- not all of it can be piped out by squeezing the ball -- but that happens with a pastry bag, too. There's always some waste and/or clean-up involved when you want to get fancy with your food. I guess the real advantages here over pastry bags are (1) the ease of handling (just squeezing; no oozing out the top, as with a pastry bag), and (2) the ease of storage or refrigeration. All in all, I am glad to have this tool.

Nice addtion to the kitchenThis cookie press is just what I was looking for. Some of the discs are easier to use than othes, but it is fun and makes great cookies. It is pretty easy to clean and to learn. With the enclosed directions no one could go wrong with this.
Easy to use for a first time cookie press user....I received this press as a Christmas present, and just used it for the first time last night. I have never used a cookie press before, so I can't compare it to any other, but as a first time user, I can say that this was very simple to use and very easy to clean. The cookies come out looking very professional and the extra barrel included in the box made it easy to get ready for the next batch--making the whole process very quick. I am very pleased with mine, and knowing it was this easy to use ensures I will be using it again and again.
Easy to useI have only used this a few times, but both times it made making cookies easier and it was also very easy to clean. I didn't use chilled sheets, though I did not grease them - and I still didn't have any problems. Highly recommend!

OXO Softworks 6-pc. Tool Set
Made by OXO
Amazon base price: $19.99
Average review score:

Great, but...OXO is a great company with a lot of great products. I love all of their kitchen stuff. If you don't cook much, this is a good set to get. If you're like me and do a lot of stuff in the kitchen, get the 19pc. set. It will have more things that you can use and you won't have to spend when buying items individually.
Not the best OXO has to offerWe got this set for our wedding and also received some individual OXO utensils. Just about anything from OXO is great. It's hard to see how basic kitchen utensil design can be improved upon, but OXO has done it. That being said, the plastic on this set is not the same as the individually purchased utensils. The plastic on these is more flexible, but they were cheaper if you do the math so it makes sense. Despite this, I still think they are just fine for using in applications where metal might scratch. I use everything in the set, but sometimes I reach first for the stronger OXO ones depending on the application.
If strength for really thick stirring and such is your priority, I suggest buying your pieces individually from OXO, but if you want a pretty good deal for how many utensils you get, this set is a great way to go!
Response to "Kitchen and Housewares enthusiast"The cause of the spoon or spatula falling out of the pot when you leave it in the pot or on the pot is just that ... leaving it in or on the pot. Take the spoon or spatula out/off of the pot and place on a dish close by your pot, so that it can easily be used.

Wasted my money.I bought this for a birthday gift for my husband. He's getting into wines. Well we were very disappointed. You need to pump forever and the seal does not hold. Don't waste your money. If you want the air taken out either drink all the wine or use a vacuum sealer.
actually erik is rightErik was right. He is not "advocating bad physics". The pressure function of this product does not preserve the ability of the wine to make bubbles after you pour it, any better than an extremely airtight stopper. See for example the Pedrini champagne stopper sold here on Amazon. So this product works, but not because you pump air into the bottle with it. It works because it lets no CO2 out. You cannot keep CO2 in solution by increasing the air pressure inside the bottle. CO2 will always diffuse out into the space above the wine. The amount of CO2 dissolved in the wine stabilizes only when there is enough CO2 above the liquid so that it enters and leaves solution at the same rate (equilibrium). The pressure of the other gases above the wine does not prevent the CO2 from entering or leaving solution. This is known as Henry's Law. An unopened champagne bottle has 3 or 4 atmospheres of CO2 gas (produced by yeast after bottling) above the wine. So unless you pump it with 3 or 4 atm of CO2 and let it sit awhile, it will never be as fizzy as when you opened it. Nitrogen and oxygen are about 10 times less soluble in water than CO2, so you would need 30 or 40 atm of pressure to get the same amount of gas into the wine!
I'd really like the high-end version....I bought this exclusively for use with champagne; i.e., the pressure function rather than the vacuum function. I use it all the time, and it does do the job, but I'd gladly pay three times as much for a better-constructed version, perhaps of metal rather than plastic, and with valves that really work. Don't know if I got a lemon, but the one-way valve is so slow to kick in that I have to lift the whole pump off the bottle on every upstroke, so that it can suck in air efficiently. Also, the rubber O-ring is a poor press fit and constantly pops out. Net: A good idea, but not particularly well executed.

A Great Gift for any occasionThe Vin De La Vie wine glass charms are great, because they are appropriate for any wine lover. I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5, because they changed the packaging. My first set came in a nice, clear box, so the recipient could see the charms without having to open the package. They now come in a little drawstring pouch, which is nice for storage, but it is just in a clear cellophane pouch with a cardboard header. In order to see what the charms look like, the recipient will have to open the package. Also, to make a nice presentation, you will have to go to a little more trouble to wrap them up. I bought these on sale, and for the price I paid, they were a good value. I would not advise paying full price for these, however.
Cute and usefulThese charms are quite useful at dinner parties to differentiate different guests' drinks. The quality of construction is actually pretty solid and detailed. However, the bag that came with the charms were a bit of a disappointment- rather flimsy. I got these during one of the Friday Sales, and it was worth the [money] price paid for these. While these are well made and useful, they are not worth the full regular price.
Fabulous gift for the wine lover! Now here is one of those wonderful "I'd never buy it for myself" things that is a FABULOUS gift. That's how I received my set. If you have a friend or family member who enjoys both wine and entertaining, these are the gift! Each of 6 guests uses one charm on her/his wine glass stem-- and no one gets confused about whose wine is whose! These charms are just too cute. I need another set myself!
