Versatile Skillet
This is a great pan. It is good thick sturdy pan that heats evenly. Sautes nicely. Easy to clean. No small joints for food to get stuck in. Comfortable handle that attaches firmly to the skillet. I haven't had it long enough to know but I am hoping that with the raised concentric circles on the bottom of the pan the non stick coating may last longer than most pans. It is perfect size for grilled cheese sandwiches.

Oatmeal doesn't stick!
I paid only $8.00 for this pan which was a steal. I certainly didn't need it but I could not pass it up and I needed something cheap to bring my order to $25 for free shipping. Well, it turns out that it is an amazing little skillet. I love it. I use it everyday to make my morning oatmeal (with the lid from the Calaphlon 9" chef's skillet which fits it perfectly). Absolutely nothing sticks. The oatmeal residue simply dries up and lifts off. Absolutely no scrubbing required. I have also used it to make scrambled eggs with cheese. Again, absolutely no sticking. Also the depth of the pan makes it useful for boiling small quantities of vegetables, potatoes, and so on.
Great little pan!

I LOVE This Pan!!!
I can make eggs without any butter with this pan it's great! The eggs just slide around on the pan. I would recommend this pan to anyone!

Scratch and Dent
Unit just arrived and it seems to be a nice roaster with the exception of 3, sharp dents on the inside of the lid that extrude to bumps on the outside of the lid.

No wonder these are going for such a good price. Apparently they are scratch and dent stock that should be listed as such. I'm not up for the task of the return and replace process.

You'll never need another pan!
This is a fabulous and versatile roasting dish. The non-stick surface makes cleaning up a breeze, and it even allows you to cook in the pan (potatoes au gratin, anyone?). I often eschew conventional glass baking dishes for this non-stick pan--but be sure to adjust your baking temperature, as dark, non-stick surfaces do not require as much heat! This pan is value-prices as well; I would have paid twice what Amazon is asking! All in all, this is a great pan, a great price and a FANTASTIC addition to my kitchen!

A great roaster with poor advertising!
First I would like to say that this roaster is very high quality. After receiving this as a wedding present, we immediately used it on a roast beef dinner and it performed well. The handles are comfortable, the fit and finish of the pan is very high quality, and the design and features are all excellent. Using the roasting rack provided resulted in a lot of beef juices left in the bottom of the pan. With a bit of stovetop thickening (which the brochure said was possible with this pan), the juices made a wonderful gravy. The non-stick qualities of the bottom were excellent. I hand washed the pan in about a minute with NO stuck-on food in the bottom!

My only complaint with this pan is in how it is marketed. Cuisinart makes both a "Large" and an "Extra-Large" roasting pan. Since the "Large" pan is supposed to be able to handle an 18 pound turkey, I chose this one. Now that I have it, I kind of wish that I had gone with the bigger "Extra-Large" roaster because I doubt that an 18 pound bird is going to fit into the smaller pan without touching the sides all the way around. Amazingly, the "Large" pan (15"x11") boasts enough capacity for an 18 pound turkey, but the "Extra Large" pan (18"x13") claims that it is perfect for roasting chicken! I think that the product descriptions must have been switched or something...

I have no doubt that I will be using my pan a great deal and be very happy with its performance. Since Thanksgiving only comes once a year, I will only regret not getting the bigger pan at that time!

Good for indoors but no comparison to outdoor smoker
This is a nice product for those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have a backyard grill and want to add a lite smoke flavor to the foods we cook. However, if you've ever used a real outdoor smoker, don't expecting results anywhere near as good.

Also, the smoker I got seemed to leak quite a bit. I followed the directions about adjusting the lid but it didn't help. What I did to fix the problem was to take a pair of pliers and clamp down on the runners/guides of the lid to make a tighter seal. This helped quite a bit but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know you're going to keep your smoker as it left marks.

Well wha da ya know
As a outdoor gotta use charcoal, dyed in the wool BBQ nut
I was skeptical, a stovetop smoker??? NO WAY, but I bought one anyway, and was impressed. The baby back ribs were tender juicy and smokey, as were the chicken breasts and the trout. I'm not saying you should toss out your grills and outdoor smokers, it does not take the place of either, but if your cooking a small amout of food for one or two people, its really good. Do not expect it to stay bright and shinney though, it will blacken more and more with each use, but they say in the instuctions, thats good becuase, you're using it

Amazing results!
I just tried my stovetop smoker and was amazed at the results. I've used a large outdoor smoker for years, and was skeptical about the stovetop smoker. I used it to prepare chicken breasts, and they cooked fast and were juicy and tender, and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. I'm looking forward to using my stovetop smoker for seafood and vegetables. It's a great way to add flavor to food, and a very healthy way to cook.

The smoker is constructed from heavy steel and is well made. I could smell the smoke as the food cooked, but it wasn't intense and there was no smoke in the house. I'll still use my outdoor smoker for batch cooking or for smoking large birds, but expect to get a lot of use out of the stovetop smoker.

Buy this instead of those "professional" cookware
This stir fry pan is better than most. I like it because it is lighter than most. Handle is easy to grip and it comes with a cover which is a good one. It also last longer than most.

Enough praises. But I have to tell you that if you use it regularly, it won't last over a year. "Stir Fry" requires high heat and "Nonstick" requires medium heat. "Nonstick Stir Fry" means "good pan for a year". I use it 5 times a week and trust me, it will start sticking within a year no matter what utensils you use and how careful you clean it.

Having said that, this stir fry pan is still a good value. Especially the standard size cover which will out last the pan. Do not waste money on those "professional" cookwares that cost over $100. Buy 2 of this instead. The only difference is the professional is heavier and had a thicker Teflon coating.

Comparable items?
I bought the 12-piece set of analon classic and really love them. I love them so much that I've ordered this stir fry pan and lid which has not yet been delivered, but I'm sure I'll love it too.

Meyer manufactures Analon so they know all the pieces that are available. I wonder how this pan compares with the Analon Classic 12-inch skillet, no lid, ASIN B0000A0VG2? The lid-less pan is listed in its specs as being 3" deep but this one's depth is not given. Carefully comparing the enlarged images of both pans, especially where the rivets are relative to the bottom of the pan, it would seem that this one is deeper than 3". Its depth is not given. I hope so. This pan is priced at more than three times that of the lid-less 12-inch pan. A lid isn't worth that much!

Good Wok substitute, esp. for radiant heat
When I switched to radiant instead of electric or gas, I needed new pots/pans that are REALLY flat so food cooks evenly rather than burn on the spot that touches and doesn't cook on spots that don't.

I bought the 12-piece set of analon classic and really love them. I love them so much that I ordered this stir fry pan and lid. I love this pan so much. I admire its shape and everything. It's my most used pan. It's really big and deep, and the curved sides make it easy to stir things around; nothing gets caught in the angle. And it's a wok with a modified bottom that works on radiant heat!

Good Value Cast Iron
This is the first piece of cast iron cookware I've ever owned. I give a 3 1/2 stars since it has been used only a few times.

Here are the reasons why I like this cast iron griddle:
1) it is a good value;
2) it heats up very fast even on an electric stove;
3) It is versatile--can be used in the oven.

Here are the reasons why I don't like the griddle:
1) The handle is way too short; Lodge needs to redesign the handle by adding another 3 inches. I wouldn't mind paying extra $$ for one with a better handle out there.
2) It is slightly discolored although it has been used only three times to cook crepes, pancake and salmon.

Maybe Lodge will take heed of all their customers' input and improve its products soon.

Ymmm! Nothing Beats Cast Iron!
My family has always believed in Cast Iron Cookware. My two grandmothers refused to cook in anything else. They used deep cast iron skillets for eggs and both had two cast iron griddles, one for pancakes and one for bacon. And on Sunday a cast iron chicken fryer. My first cast iron chicken fryer belonged to my great great Uncle who cooked with it in France during World War I. He was a member of the famous Rainbow Division and carried that pan everywhere. I marvel that it still has the lid. At any rate, cast iron will last through several generations of heavy use. A quick clean up if seasoned properly too. I was so glad to find these cast iron griddles by Lodge. The antiques are expensive if you can find them and the cheap ones usually aren't worth bringing home. Lodge has been around quite a while and I use this griddle pretty often. I might add, there is a unique flavour when food is cooked in cast iron...special.

Most used pan in the house
We love this pan and use it so much that it is kept out next to the stove. Grilled cheese, sandwiches, eggs, tortillas, steaks, lamb chops etc. All come out great. Buy one, you will not be sorry.

Great for EVERYDAY Cooking!
Before my purchase here, I already owned the larger size version of this Sauté Pan. Originally, I was skeptical that the copper bottom would be thick enough for optimal heat transfer. Well, after using the larger version and being very pleased with the results, I ordered the 3.5 qt. size and am also very pleased with it.

Note that the lids are simple, no-fuss that seal very well. If you let the pan cool down with the lid on, you will have a vapor lock and not be able to remove the lid without reheating.

Finally, they are really EVERYDAY cookware. I can use metal utensils and not worry about the interior. They come out of the dishwasher looking fabulous, as long as there is nothing stuck-on in the interior. And the sizes and proportions are perfect for real everyday cooking of supper for 4 or more.

I also bought the large frying pan, so I have quite a set now, and the price/performance ratio can't be beat.

I got it FREE and It's Wonderful!!
This beautiful saute pan was a free bonus gift with the 5-piece starter set when I purchased that, so I was thrilled to get it at such a fabulous bargain. I've done a rather long review of the starter set, so I'll keep this one short. Bottom line, it's gorgeous, cooks perfectly, and I would have happily paid the [money] ... for it. It's the perfect size for doing up some nice meatballs or sausage and then adding your favorite spaghetti sauce to simmer.
My first go was with some Italian turkey sausage, mushrooms and garlic, and served over a tomato tortelloni. Came out perfect, took a very short time for browning the sausage, and cleaned up in seconds after soaking with hot water and a dribble of dish soap. I know this pan will be my favorite for years to come.

Great Value
I am very impressed with this product. I purchased the 10-piece set with the free saute pan mainly because I wanted the saute pan. My experience with the Cuisinart Everyday line started with a pair of non-stick skillets. This line of kitchenware appears to be very well made. The saute pan is generous in size and has the weight necessary to distribute the heat evenly. The copper bottom ensures that heat is also distibuted quickly. The handle is long and comfortable, with a hole suitable for hanging (without the lid, as far as I can tell). The cuisinart line is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Pros: Great value (you can get 12 pieces for 60% of an all-clad saute pan), copper sandwich provides fast, uniform heating, stainless steel finish for good production of fond, metal handles make it suitable for oven use, solid construction and great all-around performance.

Cons: stainless steel interior prone to scratching with metal utensils, copper heats up very quickly and you have the tendency to burn/scorch things the first few times as you get used to the pans.

Note: some people have commented on hot handles. I have used these over high heat extensively and have not had any problems. I could see a problem if you use gas and allow the flame to come up the sides of the pan.

Not the real thing...
If you want real Calphalon, by all means buy real Calphalon. This set is for folks who want to buy the name at a discount. These pans are not the same ultra-high-quality professional weight pans that Calphalon is famous for.

Perfect for Bachelor Pad Cooking
I bought this Calphalon set because my old cheap-o non-stick pans got worn out. I wanted to get a good set of stuff without spending a fortune. I think this set is perfect for the price / performance ratio I was looking for.

I do not doubt the individuals that said this set was not as heavy duty at the professional and commercial Calphalon sets. But, I would imagine that for the majority of the people reading this review would be highly impressed with this product. For me, they cook heat up nicely, and cook evenly. I try to never use any oil or butter in my cooking and these non-stick pans works great. I have never had anything stick on them!

I was trepidations about the handles staying cool, but overall they stay nice and cool to the touch. The very base of the handles gets a little warm, but nothing to complain about and it will not burn your hands.

For me, the beginning avid cooker, I plan on using this set of Simply Calphalon cookware for many years to come.

A Best Buy
The 8-peice version of these pans were rated a best buy by the most popular consumer rating magazine (CR). They may not be as good as the $500 set but most of us don't need that chef quality cookware anyway.

Excellent quality
I got this 10" Emerilware pan with a little trepidation since "Famous name" stuff can sometime be of questionable quality. I was presently surprised with the excellent quality of this pan. It is made by All Clad and you can tell right away that they did not skimp on this one. It is a heavy pan with a great handle and balance. It has industrial rivets and is clearly a great value. The non-stick works great as well.

Excellent pan! Use it every day!
I have All Clad pans and Calphalon Commercial and one (so far) Emerilware pan - this 10" saute pan. It is solid anodized aluminum (with a nonstick interior) and it seems to heat more evenly than pans which sandwich aluminum between layers of stainless steel. I like the hefty weight of the pan, but it is well balanced and easy to hold. The handle is very comfortable to hold and remains cool to the touch. The lip of the pan is better than many for pouring, but not excellent, however I am seldom pouring liquids from a saute pan anyway. I will definitely be purchasing more Emerilware!

Nothing sticks!
I LOVE this pan! I've made everything from jambalaya to omelettes in this pan, and I can attest to the fact that it is the best frying pan I've ever used. Never in my life have I made an omelette without making a mess, but in this pan I can cook like a pro! The omelette flips over & slides right out with NO breakage. Bacon, frozen hashbrowns, pancakes (can you tell I like breakfast?) all cook evenly & quickly. Buy this pan if you want no mess, no fuss food preparation! One thing though: I'm not a big person, and the slim handle combines with the weight of the large pan makes it a little unwieldy. It's worth it though; it's so solid it never slides around the stovetop unless YOU slide it!

AWESOME!
This is a great pan. I love all of the cast iron products that I have bought from Amazon.com. They are a great design and easy to cook with.

A Southern Girl Has Come Back To Her Roots
I honestly cannot say enough good things about this pan. At first I was skeptical and a little hesistant about cooking with cast iron. Growing up in the south I knew the magic of cast iron cornbread made with fatback, but I also knew the special care that went into seasoning the beloved pieces of cookware. When I saw that this was preseasoned I went for it. I worried that it might be a lightweight pan and only sublime quality for the price but I was pleasantly surprised. This pan has a heavy weight to it and is crafted solidly. I've used it for hamburgers (they make the best I've ever tasted), grilled chicken, pork chops, and shrimp (YUM). Something I learned is that things tend to stick a little so coating the pan with vegetable spray is a good idea. Also, try soaking your shrimp in a mixture of butter and garlic before grilling it. I am in love, it hasn't even left my kitchen counter to go into the cabinet since I bought it because I use it so much. My husband being a Yankee wasn't used to the goodness of the cast iron but now that he sees how perfectly it browns meat while still leaving it moist he is hooked. With this pan I find the grooves to be so helpful. You can season the meat without worrying about all the seasoning burning to the pan. Also they're nice and deep so that the fat that does run off actually stays off the meat. Cleaning it is SO easy! I just run hot water into the pan while it's still hot from the stove then use a sponge or dish towel (NO SOAP) to wipe it out, rinse it off, and then spray with vegetable spray while it's warm before putting it away. I have to say that Lodge has a loyal fan in me. With quality old time cookware like this, without the hassle of seasoning it first you can't go wrong.

Great alternative
I looked at several different options - such as the Foreman grill before settling on this grill pan. Although I have a small back patio, I've never used a bbq and wouldn't be comfortable doing so, not to mention I'm just cooking for one so the time spent setting it up wouldn't be worth it to me. The Foreman grill, based on reviews, didn't sound like it would be easy to clean and wasn't reliable. The grill pan looked like the perfect solution. Although the pan is heavy, there are two handles which makes it easy to move and carry over to the sink. Following advice I'd found on the internet, I use cooking spray generously and bought a wire scrub brush to clean it with. The pan does create smoke so I'm always sure to turn on the kitchen fan and open the back door before I even turn the stove on as well as disconnect the smoke detector. The pan heats up fairly quickly and cooks the food evenly and quickly. I must admit I don't use it frequently and have only tried a handful of foods, but I have been pleased with my experiences and would recommend this item.
