What a great pan!
I needn't have worried about where to store it. It gets so much use it is rarely put away. A most versatile piece of equipment. Even heat, easy cleanup, perfect size for so many different tasks, as other reviewers agree. (More than you'd imagine until you actually start using it.) A pleasure to use every time, and a great value at the sale price. Beautiful to look at, it also makes a great gift.

Beautiful pan!
I'm tired of those non-stick pans that eventually lose their coating and thought that I'll try stainless steel pan for almost everything but frying an egg. Boy did I pick the right pan to start with! This pan, besides being beautifully made, is the perfect size for almost everything I cook. It's very heavy, but the helper handle helps. It conducts heat very well, so I no longer use the high setting on my gas stove or the food would burn. Despite being made in China, the quality is excellent. I'm sure it will last decades. My only complaint is that sometimes I wish the stainless steel cover is made of glass so I can see through. But, I'll still give it 5 stars because I'm very very happy with the design and quality.

Great Pan
Awesome to cook in and clean up is a breeze. Remember to follow the instructions to keep the heat on Medium and close the lid. I have even cooked rice in this and it has come out great!! Highly recommend this pan.

Simply Superb, Excellent Value!
This pan is excellent! 10 stars would be more like it! This sturdy, substantial, top quality pan is perfect for evenly cooking all your breakfast foods, grilled sandwiches, saute, etc. It has a low profile and the bottom is flat so you can cook using less energy and achieve superior results. The usable cooking surface is far greater than most larger but lower quality pans, and it takes up little storage space. It is constructed of top quality stainless steel inside and out with a double-riveted stainless steel handle. The third ply is aluminum, bonded between the layers of stainless which provides awesome heat conduction and even heat distribution, but the aluminum is completely sealed inside and never touches your food. It is oven safe up to 500 degrees so you can start cooking on the stove and finish it or keep it warm in the oven. It is a beautiful pan that is dishwasher safe and it should last a lifetime. For half a century I have used inferior pans with inferior results. With All-Clad stainless I am learning to enjoy cooking again with beautiful results! For the overall value this is an excellent buy and I recommend it without reservation!

The Swan of My Collection
Holding an ALL-Clad pan makes you feel like a chef! The flambe pan is a trophy of quality USA craftsmanship. A recent CIA graduate now working in San Fran recommended All-Clad and told me it is the choice of professional chefs and it is the best. I'm new to professional cookware but I wanted to start a collection of lifetime cookware. The theory was buy the best once. The weight of the pan is substantial and echoes the All-Clad reputation. You know immediately you holding a special instrument that will produce delicious results. The heat is so evenly distributed throughout the flambe pan, less heat is required. I love this pan; it is the swan of my collection! It's beautiful. It's a fun piece to use and when finishing an entree there's a little voice inside me that says taa-daaah!

Great
Great pan - I was amazed at how evenly it cooks your food. Of course, it's stainless so the clean-up isn't nearly as easy as with a non-stick pan...

Top Rate Performance from Hard Anodized Pans
We recently purchased this pan and have seen the difference that professional cookware can make. We moved up from the Calphalon Non-Stick Pots and Pans set to the Professional Hard Anodized cookware. Foods brown more evenly at a lower heat setting. And, the pans heat more quickly, so in addition to better performance, there is an energy savings as well. Clean up is easy, even tough stains are removed quickly with ScotchBrite and kitchen cleanser. Better yet, no worries about scratching a non-stick surface, or damaging highly polished stainless steel!

FANTASTIC'' GREAT AND MADE IN THE USA'
I'm sold on it,so is my son-inlaw. My husband is not a cook but finds it easy to use. When he tries. He says it cleans up nice. Keep up the great work. I used to use corning ware.Stainless steel. But this seems a lot better to use.

Hard Anodized Cleaning Tips
Yeah! Calphalon is plain old good cookware. But let's face it, Calphalon and most other hard anodized cookware is a pain to clean. Well, after deciding that I wanted to stick with hard anodized, I had to come up with a way to keep it looking nice. Try this:

1) Cook up a great meal and make all the mess you want.
2) Wash the cookware with hot water and plenty of soap.
3) Working with one piece at a time, scrub out stains with a cleaner like Comet or Bar Keepers Friend. Coat the cookware evenly with the suds of your chosen cleaner. Let this cleaner actually dry on the the piece. This tends to draw out any oily residue from the cookware.
4) Rince well with hot water while rubbing with your hand to ensure. This ensures there will be no hase left when the cookware dries.
5) Dry the piece immediately with a clean cloth (I use bar-mop towels, Extremely Absorbent!).
6) NEVER heat the cookware if there are any signs of grease present on the exterior. The grease will cook onto the cookware and ruin the piece.

I use this technique for all of my anodized cookware and all of it is like new.

Enjoy your Calphalon!

What a great cooking tool...
This piece of cookware is an excellent size to do all kinds of things. I have used it to roast a chicken, I make chili in it and it cleans up very easily.
I do alot of cooking from scratch... no pre-fab dinners... this is a true tool that should be in every kitchen!

Great saute pan!
You won't be sorry with this pan. Very heavy stainless. Heat conductivity and even temperatures are the norm. Get this one before it sells out. And what a bargain! I ordered more for presents.

A great pan at a great price
This Cuisinart Chef's Classic saute pan has quickly become my favorite pan. It's huge - a full 12" across - which makes it very versatile. The pan conducts heat extremely well and is oven safe to 500 degrees. The handle is very sturdy, reasonably comfortable, and stays cool (outside of the oven, of course). The lid fits tightly. Both the interior and the exterior are very shiny and attractive. All this and it's easy to clean. Yet this pan sells for just a fraction of the sexier brands like All-Clad or Calphalon.

The chief reason for the great price is due to the construction. This is known as a "disk bottom" pan because it has a highly conductive aluminum disk embedded in its base. The really expensive brands feature "cladding", where a layer of conductive metal (usually aluminum) is embedded throughout the entire pan. Although the cookware industry loves to say that disk-bottom pans are inferior, test after test proves this claim is untrue. After all, we don't cook on the sides of a pan; we only cook on the bottom. See Cook's Illustrated magazine, May/June 2003, for a great discussion of this.

There are a few reasons why this pan might not be right for you. This pan's size makes it fairly heavy, so if you have arthritis or weak hands, you might want to opt for a smaller pan. Similarly, this pan might not fit on those tiny stovetops or ranges that you sometimes see in "galley" kitchens in apartments. But if you want a large, durable, high-quality saute pan at a fraction of the cost of the big-name brands, this is the pan for you.

Wow
I love this pan. All my other cookware is Calphalon commercial hard-anodized. The only thing I have cooked on it that sticks bad is potatoes. I fried potatoes in this pan the first day I had it and they were great. Great price on Amazon.com too

Best pots ever
I have owned many brands of pots and pans over the years and the Calphalon commercial nonstick are my FAVORITE. Foods cook quickly and brown evenly and clean-up is a breeze. HIGHLY reccommended!

Another Great Calphalon Product!
This commercial nonstick stuff is the way to go. I won't buy anything else except I did buy a roasting pan that wasn't nonstick (for gravy). I honestly don't mind washing pans now. No problem!!! So, I just cook whatever I want with no worries!

THIS BEGINNER CHEF ....
I have had the pleasure of pretending i knew how to cook for my new husband until i purchased this whole set of cookware. well, know i think i am 'chef boyardee' this cookware is very durable, allows you to cook your foods thoroughly, and helps you if you want to do it the 'atkins' way! The price is somewhat outrageous, but well worth it, and you dont spend your time trying to clean up either. After purchasing this set, i would recommend a cast iron dutch oven to complete your kitchen!

Great pan! This family of 6 loves it!
I love this pan. I've just started to enjoy cooking and purchased this pan to help with recipes that I have to double and triple to feed my growing family. The size is perfect for us. Clean up is a breeze. Cooks very evenly. Works well with my glass cooktop. I will be buying more Analon in the future. Be aware however that it is NOT 5 quarts as stated. It is actually 4.75 which is not a huge difference but it is also not what it is advertised to be.

Couldn't be happier
This is the Cadillac of Saute Pans. It's heavy, easy to wash, non-stick, heats evenly, and is big enough to cook paella for 6. Beware though, a friend bought the same one from her Gold Box and it arrived with the lid missing.

Great for smother frying or where you need a lid
This pan is the one you want for smother frying and braising things (like frying cubed steak then simmering in gravy, making smother fried pork chops, or making a pot roast.)

The straight sides are more useful for frying things then simmering them in sauces. That way, you don't have meat or veggies riding up on the sloped sides of the pan and not cooking all the way through.

The pan does not brown and fry quite as well as the standard fry pan -- so it is not really a substitute for your frypan for making burgers, and fast cooked type foods like chicken breast, pan fried steaks, and stir fry. (that is why it got the 4 stars) Because of the straight up sides, it really is closer in capacity for frying to the 10" fry pan.

Size wise, this pan holds enough for approximately 4 good sized portions of meat, gravy, and veggies.

Excellent Saute Pan! Love it!
To be honest if this pan didn't come in the set I bought I probably would not have it. Thank goodness it did because it turns out that I love it. It is great for sauted spinach, veal or chicken picatta, you will find you more uses for this pan everytime you open the cabinet. It heats evenly and is very easy to clean. As all All Clad is, this pan is excellent quality and very well made. I have just about every All Clad item made and love them all. Well worth the money and designed to last a lifetime. It also comes with a lifetime warranty. How can you go wrong?

Also, if you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive.

great pan
A great all around pan. I run a single household and don't need the extra large pans. I have quite a few pieces of All-Clad and like them all very much. Very good size for frying with enough left overs for taking to work. A little Bar Keepser's friend and it cleans up rather nicely.

Wonderful to cook with, a pain to clean.
This pan does an amazing job of cooking well and evenly and saves me precious clean up time. I can brown meat and then throw it in the over without changing pans, then use the same pan to make gravy.

One of the reasons that I purchased this pan was the fact that it could go into the dishwasher. Except that this pan doesn't really fit into a standard dishwasher because it is just TOO big. Also, do NOT use cooking spray with any kind of high heat on this pan as you get a burnt in cooking spray residue that is a serious pain to get off. That said, I wouldn't give you my pan and I hope to get the rest of the set to match. The $s I have to invest for a oil mister will be worth it for the performance of these pots.

I like it !
A very good pan, solid construction, good materal, nice fit and finish, and it cooks great too. The perfect blend of quality and value in a large pan. It's much better than I expected at this price.

Great pan for the money
I received this pan as a gift about 2 years ago. This was the first stainless steel pan I owned and I went on to buy a full set of All-Clad stainless in the last six months.

The size makes it ideal for a multitude of tasks and I use it for everything - cooking breakfast, braising pot roast and making stew (it goes wonderfully from stovetop to oven -- that's where the extra handle really comes in handy!), to cooking lamb chops and grilled cheese sandwiches.

I have most definitely put this pan through it's paces and it performs as good as new (even if it is a bit more scratched). Dishwasher, even steel wool for a particularly bad burn-on have not affected performance.

As with all stainless pans, food will stick to it if you don't adequately coat with cooking spray, oil, or butter, so if you are used to non-stick cookware this pan (and other uncoated stainless like it) might not be the pan for you. However, if you want a pan you can do just about anything too (and believe me, I have) you're in the right place.

While not nearly as heavy as my All-Clad products, this pan has adequate heft and heats evenly. If you can't (or don't want to) shell out for All-Clad, I would say this is a reasonable alternative.

Great pan
Great pan. It took me a while to figure out how to keep foods from sticking but now I love it. Add a little oil but make sure you don't overheat it, med-to-med hi is good. Put meat in, let it sear and don't touch it until it's completely seared. Then it releases and can be turned over without sticking. It's great for searing steaks or chicken breasts and then putting into oven to finish. Add a little broth, wine and butter to the drippings and you get a great sauce to go with it. Plus it's a great looking pan too.

Plesantly impressed
I had ordered a set of Revere Ware pans from another web site for my daughter and was completely disappointed in the weight and quality of them, so they're on their way back. I just received one of the Cuisinart pans in the set that I ordered for her from Amazon.com today and WOW!!! I love it. So much so, in fact, that I have just ordered myself a set!!!!! She's getting her's tomorrow, the rest should be here by then, and I can't wait to get mine!!!!! I know that it won't be long because her's came within 5 days of the order being placed! Thanks Amazon for a great deal too.

Great Little Pan
We've had this about three months now and use it all the time. The nice, thick bottom helps to distribute heat evenly. It's easy to clean, as there's no place for food to get stuck where you can't get at it. Over all, its nice, solid construction suggests that it's built to last a lifetime. We usually just pick up pans and things like this at second-hand stores because we're cheap, but this is one of those items I'd buy brand new again if the price was right (we got it for ten bucks - a phenomenal deal through Amazon).

KitchenAid Hi-Density Hard Anodized
I have purchased 10 different KitchenAid Hi-Density Hard Anodized pans of varying types and have waited a year to write a review. These are the best pans I've owned (for their purpose) and highly recommend them for anyone who enjoys cooking and entertaining. They heat quickly and evenly, have a solid feel, excellent balance and very comfortable handles. In addition, they look great and clean up magnificently. These, coupled with my Crueset collection and my new Viking cooktop have made the fun and pleasure of cooking even greater. Anybody want to buy a pile of well used Calaphon?

Excellent Quality and Value
My favorite pan in my collection. Although the Kitchen Aid pans tend to run up there in $$, they are still a far better value then their All-clad counterparts. The hard anondized exterior (aluminum) is great to look at and very hard (if not impossible) to scratch. The dual layers of alumnium (anodized exterior and interior layer) really balance out the heat for great searing and even sauce reduction when necessary. From fish to vegetables, this pan is tops. When I go to add more pans and replace existing ones, Kitchen Aid Hard Anodized is my choice. I just hope they keep on making them.

The best cookware
Wow. I bought this pan when Amazon had a Christmas sale, and I would buy it again for twice the price. Although certain things do stick, esp. starches (flour, sweet potatoes), I've learned to saute when the pan is completely heated, and to use a bit more oil. I have never had to use anything but a soft sponge for cleaning. I have a Viking range, and have never needed to use it on more than medium setting, as the pan does get very hot. Vegetables are flavorful and juicy, and maintain wonderful color. Meats brown quickly and evenly. I have even boiled corn in this sautee pan. The lid seals well. The components are genuinely well made. Nothing comes off... no nonstick surfaces to flake off into your food. Six months later, the pan still looks like new, though I use it daily.
