This is a GREAT item!
I love this stockpot. Now I can make a big batch of stew or soup without using two pots. It cleans up very well and is easy to handle.

Yippee, another workhorse for the kitchen!
I was impressed with the thickness of the pot and immediately made beef stew--it handled the initial saute to three hours of simmering perfectly, and was still easy to clean. I have a non-stick Anolon stockpot in the same size--but its not as easy to clean even though it has the same size and heft as the Farberware. Its a great addition to anyone who loves and needs to cook.

A Must Have For Any Kitchen
This pot is a great size, large but not unwieldy,(even when loaded with food). It heats quite evenly and is a pleasure to cook in. The no-drip lip and the well fitting cover are a plus. It is simple to keep clean and is also dishwasher safe.

A "classic" complement to the Farberware Millenium Set
I ordered the Farberware 2 quart saucepan with double boiler to complete a starter set of Farberware Millenium cookware. I almost didn't order the double boiler because of the possibility of a mismatch. I am glad I ordered the classic pan. It has the same outer shape as the Millenium set. It is more square than round on the bottom, although the featured picture makes the classic pan look more round. A square piece connects the handle to the pan and it adds a nice touch to the design. The 18/10 stainless steel helps make the match. I am glad I ordered (and opened) the "classic piece" to add to my Millenium set. Every millenium needs a touch of the old to mark the changes in the new! Bye the way, the Farberware is a virtual steal both for the quality and appeal.

    Excellent quality
This is good old Farberware quality. Sturdy with a heat distributing bottom. The fit of the two parts is excellent. I see no reason why this won't last for years.

    Made in Thailand

    Double Boiler!!!!
All I have to say, is TAMALES!!!! this is the pot that'll cook em... hehehehe

This is an awesome HEAVY pot - Love it!!
This stockpot is an awesome find and an awesome deal. I purchased it, scoffing at the "retail price". When I received it - I was amazed at the quality of the pot! It is super heavy with a thick bottom to prevent scorching and burning. I thought I would only use it for heavy duty crowd cooking - but I find myself using it all of the time. It give plenty of space for spagetti to roll and move while it boils. I love making an endless pot of soup that we eat for days. I love this pot and you will too!!

    My Mom Loves It
This is a very good quality item from Farberware. It's strong and cooks really well. The price was/is excellent, too. A stockpot such as this is one of those essentials you must have around the house. As I said earlier, my mom loves it and she's picky when it comes to cookware... so most of you probably will enjoy it too!

Good Stockpot at a Great Price
Farberware 18/10 stainless steel cookware is a good line. I had this cookware at one time, and I can recommend it, especially for use on gas burners. Unlike Calphalon cookware, it can go in the dishwasher. However, to keep the finish gleaming, you might need to scrub the pots and pans frequently with cleanser and scouring pads. This 10-Quart Stockpot is a kitchen essential.

    Great quality
I was a bit hesitant to buy this because I never thought very highly about the Farberware brand name (always thought it was a cheap copy of and inferior to All-Clad, Kitchen-Aid, etc.). But the price was too good to pass up, so I took a chance. I'm happy I did because I use this pot all the time now. It has a very thick, heavy core on the bottom, which (pleassantly) surprised me. It's kept its sheen and good looks through many cleanings. Food sticking has not been an issue. I highly recommend this for someone who needs a big high-quality stockpot but doesn't want to pay All-Clad prices.

    Great Value
We bought both the 12 and 16 quart pots. We couldn't be happier. We have a large family and these sizes are great for pasta, sauce, corn, chili, BBQ...you name it. They are very sturdy, and the bottom is perfectly flat...something we need because we have a ceramic cooktop. They heat evenly and food doesn't stick. We were looking at pots that cost considerably more, but I'm glad we make the choice we did.

    A great, sturdy stockpot...
I have the 10 quart and 18 quart versions of this stockpot, and have nothing but praise for them. They conduct heat well, they look beautiful, and have quality you can feel every time you pick them up. They live up to their name -- Classic.

They are a great deal here on Amazon, too. You won't find this price at your local department store!

The 12 quart version would be good for cooking up lots of chili, soup or pasta...Make sure that you get an extra long ladle though!

I've used mine a million times
This IS a kitchen essential. I have two. This is the pot you grab for every little thing: heating up a can of soup, frozen veggies, straining gravy in to, anything. This and the next size up, are musts in every kitchen. Cleans easily and stays nice and shiny. I got all of mine years ago for a wedding present and it was my favorite present and still is, I use them always. I have since acquired Le Creuset and All-Clad, and I love them too, but THESE are the tried and true pots you don't have to think about damaging or how do I clean it, or will I scratch it. Good buy for the money too.

Perfect cookware for the young bachelor...
This has got to be the deal of the century, and not only that, these pans will last you almost that long! My mother has had a set for 35 years, and I've had mine for 5. Nearly indestructible, dishwasher safe, good performers on the stovetop, with stay-cool handles! They even look great after all those years!
Keep in mind that because they are mostly stainless steel, with an aluminum bottom, Farberware does not heat up quite as fast as, say, hard-anodized aluminum such as Calphalon, which gourmets prefer. Stainless steel is a poor heat conductor, while aluminum is good and copper is the best. On the plus side, you can't put Calphalon in the dishwasher and Calphalon does not have true stay-cool handles, like Farberware.
Anyway, how often do you buy a gift knowing that it will still be around 20, 30, 40 years from now? By the way, if the pot does have a problem, they come with a Lifetime Warranty.

    Great value
The knives are sturdy and aren't too heavy for someone with small hands. They are a great buy for the beginning cook.

    Great set
I own this set with the walnut handles. I love it. It so much easier to cook when you have the proper tools. I have been using these for about 9 months and so far nothing has needed to be sharpened. The only downside is that the walnut handles don't do so great in the dishwasher or the sink. Don't soak them in water.

    Very Pleased
I bought these as a Christmas present for my parents and have never heard the end of it since! How sharp they are! How complete the set is! How nice and simple the style is... etc., etc.

    Great pot weak handles
I just got this pot. If I only had two words to describe this pot they would be, large and conductive. This pot is great and brings a 3.5 gallons of chili to a boil in no time, even on my feable burners. Faster than my old two gallon pot. I couldn't bring myself to give it the full five stars however. I can't help but to question the way the handles are attached to the pot. Instead of being bolted on or made as part of the same peice as the pot as is common with most designs. These handles are saudered on, and it doesn't look like they are saudered on well. They are definetly a point of weekness. Although they seam sturdy now, I dredge to think that one day I'll spill some 2-4 gallons of chili all over my kitchen. But you aren't going to find anything better at this price. Besides even if the handles come off I'll keep using the pot. The rest of the pot looks to be constructed with top notch crasftsmanship.

When nothing less than 4 gallons of gumbo will do...
Okay, I'll admit that I'm a bit biased towards Farberware in the first place, but with this pot they've done just about everything right. The aluminum slug sealed into the base makes for very even heating, which is important since it's wider than most burners. And it holds up to high heat well - I've been browning meat and making roux in mine for a few years now. The lid is snug enough without being a pain and the loop handles are nice - the smaller Classic series stock pots have the molded plastic ones instead. The only thing I'd change in the design of the pot is to use a brushed finish - I tend to prefer that over chrome because any chrome pot that I use very often ends up with a patina of scratches anyway, and I prefer that they all run in the same direction. But who's complaining? This pot performs where it counts - it heats quickly and evenly and has taken quite a beating over the years without so much as a ding.

    Wonderful!
I am not usually a fan of Farberware. But this Classic 16-Quart Stainless-Steel Stockpot is wonderful. I just LOVE it. I would recommend this product if you are in need of a stock pot.

    Absoultely FAB !
The best set of pots and pans you can get, for this price, to get ANYONE started! I cook more than the average joe, and I'm thoroughly impressed by this set.

The lid on the pot is awesome! I use it all the time, to drain the water out, from cooking crabs to washing fruit, this is a great set.

    Worth every penny.

    Great Set, Great Price
I inherited an old Faberware pot years ago that was, and still is, my favorite. So when I was looking for a basic set of pans to put on our gift registry, I knew this was the set to get. The price and quality simply can't be beat.

    Great set...
This is a great set. They are very durable. They are nice looking and cook evenly. If you're wanting to boil water in a hurry these are the pans for you...they boil really fast and hold their heat well. The only problem I have with this set is the fry pans are a bit small but I also have a large family. They are nonstick and cleanup is sooooo easy. You can practically wipe them clean with a paper towel. Great for scrambled eggs, omelettes and pancakes. Has a great price attached too. :)

    Great Value on Farberware Knives
I ordered this set a few weeks ago and used the super saver shipping. Received them pretty quick - within four days. The knives are pretty good quality and are actually thicker and heavier than I would have thought for the price. They are also well balanced and feel good in my hand. The finish (urethane)on the block that came with the set was not applied properly and probably should not have passed QC. Other than that I'm very happy with the knives.

    Very nice for the price
I bought a Farberware forged set from a department store at Christmas and paid twice this much. Frankly I was surprised by the quality of a Farberware set, but for those of you not familiar the fact that this is forged makes quite a positive difference. The knives are heavy and well balanced. Like all cutlery they need to be sharpened with a steel after every few uses, and although these claim to be dishwasher safe you should never wash your cutlery in the dishwasher, and should always hand dry. This is a good purchase and worth 5 stars for the price.

I got this set about 6 months ago from amazon friday sale
It is a great set and I haven't had any rust problems as some earlier comments. Maybe its b/c I don't put them into the DishWasher. The scissors alone are worth the 30 bucks in my opinion. Definetely a good buy. I bought two sets for future gifts...

    Great all around pan
I got a Farberware Millennium Stainless-Steel 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet for Christmas, and it has quickly become my favorite pan. It's great for everything from stir-frying to pan frying to sauteing. The only caveat is that this pan is quite heavy. The disk bottom is quite thick, which makes for even heating and quick cooking, especially when frying in batches or stir-frying. Since I've had the pan a scant 2 months, I can't yet comment on durability of the nonstick surface. So far, it looks brand new.

    Great Skillet
This is a wonderful skillet! I love the non-stick coating, works great. Easy to clean-up.

Farberware aims to please ¿ and surprise!
I would have never thought of Farberware delivering amazing cookware, I'm relatively new to cooking, but I thought if i'm going to buy cookware, I want it to last, work well and know what i'm getting. My only piece of cookware at the time was really at Calphalon 12" Stir-Fry pan and I was planning on buying Calphalon again, until I saw an article in "Cooks Illustrated"(a magazine) which rated equipment. All-Clad was definetly out of my price range, but Farberware? It's been a few months and I use this pan at least 5 nights a week (since then I've gotten two All Clad stainless steel pieces as gifts), and it's the best. I'm holding out for the whole set now. I'm a kosher vegetarian so food tends to run the gamut - Tofu, seitan (a wheat gluten mock-meat product), Indian, Israeli, Chinese - they all cook and clean with ease. If the price was twice as much i'd still say go for it -

The only con is that farberware does not sell a cover/lid for its "Open Stock" (i.e. not in a set) pieces - I use the lid from my Calphalon Stir-fry, but a Universal 12" lid would also work.

The Millenium Non-Stick line has the price, quality and versatility of a classic. You can hand wash or run it in the dishwasher and it still looks brilliant - I can't say the same for my Calphalon or All-Clad cookware. (just remember as in all non-stick surfaces, DO NOT USE METAL UTENSILS IN THEM! YOU'LL SCRATCH THE SURFACE OFF! or Pam (i.e. canned cooking spray - it'll take the non-stick surface off).

    Good Eating!
