Can't add much to other reviewers - it's great!
I received mine for Christmas. For some reason, they don't make many electric knives anymore, but this one exceeds my expectations.

I've used it to cut breads and cheeses (for fun) and a multitude of other unnecessary things and it works great. Attractive looking too.

The Best Electric Knife on the Market
This knife will spoil you. Cutting through the thickest of meat is a breeze. I wanted to order a few for Christmas presents, but they wouldn't guarantee a by Christmas delivery. This is a gift that keeps on giving with years and years of great service!

You get what you pay for!
This is, by far, the best electric knife I have ever used! I have tried many others that cost between 10.00 and 30.00 and all they did was chew whatever you were cutting into pieces. I have come to believe greatly that you get what you pay for. I have used the knife to cut meat and bread. The knife blades are so sharp that they can cut through hot bread without mashing or creating a pile of dust from the crust. My mother has borrowed it because the electric knife she owns just can't "cut it"..haha. I think I will order her one of her own for Christmas this year. You won't regret this purchase..look at it this way..you can spend 50.00 now and never have to worry about getting another electric knife or you can spend 20.00 and be back looking for another one in a year.

Handy utensil
Very good for cutting thin or thick slices of any cheese, including softer cheese. Easier to cut thin slices with this knife than using a wire slicer, and it can go in the dishwasher. It is hard to believe the higher priced brands can do the job better.

Now I can cut my cheese and (almost) eat it, too!
Hi, I'm Frank, and I'll be doin' this here product review while my good buddy Zaggy hits the tank for this week's big arenaball contest. Today I'm gonna talk about this really cool-looking cheese knife that I got as a gag gift. What's the gag, you ask? Well, you see, I have trouble digesting dairy products, especially cheese, which means I can't have any. Um, cheese that is. Not an ounce of brie, a smidgeon of edam, nor a gram of gouda can pass my lips without me havin' to pay the consequences the followin' day. It can be a nightmarish existence at times, y'know?

You might think that my inability to ingest that forbidden fromage would discourage me from using this cool piece of dairy cutlery. Well, that would be the farthest thing from the truth, 'cuz even though I can't eat the cheese, I sure as heck can cut it pretty good! Yep, this little guy goes right through the Philly and American singles slices like nobody else's business! Okay, so it takes a bit more work to saw through the harder cheeses (such as cheddar and swiss)-- but the results are more than worth the effort! And the two spikes at the end are really good for stabbin' a cube of camembert, and then flingin' it across the room with a good flick of the wrist! Ah, the fun I have with cheese, even though I can't eat it...

Another cool thing I like about this knife are those big ol' holes in the middle of the blade. Not only do these voids minimize wind drag and help lighten things up, they're also good to have if you want to hang the implement up on your wall! Gee, what won't they think up next...

G'Bye

Great buy
Great for small cheese blocks, for large blocks of cheese you will need a longer blade. This blade is too short for a 4-5 lb. loaf of cheese, there is not enough blade for leverage.

JUST WHAT I WANTED
I HAVE LOOKED LONG AND HARD TO FIND A QUALITY TOMATO KNIFE FOR A GOOD PRICE.THIS IS IT.

Quality Knife!
This is a great knife for the job (as well as a few others). It as a flat backside, a hollow ground front, and a semi-serrated edge. It is also sharp, and easy to sharpen. It will slice a tomato or a cuccumber into paper thin layers without tearing the skin. Since it is designed as a right handed implement (it's design requires one handednes), I have to adjust my normal habits to use it (I am left handed), but it is worth the effort. This China forging of German steel reeks of quality. It is beautifully made, and features a blade geometry that simply cannot be duplicated in a stamped steel blade. Balance and "feel" are equal to the mainstream German brands without the high cost. The Calphalon knife series is almost a secret, as it does not appear when you list "all brands" of cutlery on the Amazon site. Curious... In any event, the entire line looks excellent, and I hope they get more exposure. I just wish they would offer left handed versions of their one handed knives. Oh, one more thing. If you have a problem with a "made in China" label on your German steel knives, don't worry, as the country of origin label is just a sticker on the handle. It washes right off. On the other hand, premium products from China in the last few years stand up well next to those from anywhere else, and need no excuses.

A very useful knife!
This is a great knife and not just for tomatoes. I use it for everything and it cuts great. The handle is comfortable to hold and the knife is weighted well. When preparing dinner, this is the knife I take out first. Just don't put it in the dishwasher, it really will dull the blade. It's an all around great knife at a great price.

Another great Global knife
This knife is great for hard cheeses, I can cut them without the slices crumbling to pieces. It feels very comfortable and sturdy in my hand like my other Global knife. The blade has a serrated edge so you will not be able to sharpen it easily, but if you only use it for cheese, it should stay sharp for a long time. This is another beautiful Global knife.

Amazing piece of art for all cheese addicts
This beautiful Global knife comprises all distinctiveness of that great brand, including the price though ...
It is great for semi-hard and hard cheeses (although I would not strongly recommend it for Parmesan cheese, despite that it worked fine for me, since Wustohof parmesan cheese knife is appreciably more efficient for that purpose). Don't pay much attention on those that tell You advices such as that other [less expensive] imitations with similar shape would do the same job (I tried several of those prior I got Global). On the other hand, don't expect this knife to do a good job for soft cheeses.
Global knifes need a tad amount of attention and care, and in return beside superb design and balance (of course, which is an individual thing) are very thankful and durable. So if You are not cheese addict and prepared to give this knife care that it needs, then rather buy something else (cheaper that You can toast and replace after short time) - but of course, You won't know what You are missing ...

The Best Knife I Own
I bought a collection of Pro-S knives about a year ago and never thought this one would be the one I used the most. It is great for use as advertised - peeling, strawberries, etc. But what they don't tell you is how many other things it is useful; cutting chicken legs and thighs, cutting away the ribs from prime rib, and any task where you need to cut something you can't see. Mine dropped on the floor and the tip bent today - definately want to take care of this knife - and if it doesn't straighten out right I guarantee I'll be buying another one.

the perfect paring knife
I used this knife at a friends house. The balance is great. You can tell this is a quality knife. The small tip end is great for coring strawberries. The slightly wider area by the base makes it nice for pealing thin skinned items such at potatoes. This is a must for anyone that picks strawberries to core and freeze. I liked it so much I'm purchasing one for myself. You can't get anything like this at local store.

Excellent knife; has stood the test of time
I purchased this soft cheese knife 5 years ago. I love both how it looks and how it feels in my hand. I use it several times a year. It has remained sharp and still cuts well. The way it cuts soft cheese is a dream. The knife doesn't bunch up the cheese and have to be worked loose like other knives.

This cheese knife has held up well. It still looks great, good enough to put on a cheese tray for company. I've kept this knife in a drawer with the rest of my knives. I do wash it by hand, not in the dishwasher. Otherwise, I've taken no special care of it. I expect this knife to meet my needs for a very long time.

I've had similar experiences with any Wüsthof product that I have purchased.

Great for cheese and everything else
I received this knife last christmas and immediately fell in love with it. It's heavy for it's size, feels great in your hand, and just looks really cool. It also cuts great. Cheddars and Swiss don't stand a chance, as well as peppers, boneless meats, tomatos, and anything you can think of that doesn't need a really stout, heavy blade. The holes in the blade make any meat or cheese just slide off as soon as the cut is made. It's just a quality piece of cutlery. Now if only you can get someone to buy one for you.....

Get the Point
This Henckels knife is one of the most useful knives that I own. Its triangular shape is unlike most of the rounded parers. This gives the knife wonderful tip that can be used for many things. I like to use this blade to cut pockets in Chicken breasts and Pork chops. This blades tip is wonderful when you are in need of using a straight edge for precision cutting. There are many different styles of parers and I think that this is a shape that is well worth owning.

It Really Does the Job!
I love the Four Star Knives. I have a block set and was afraid this knife was the same as the 5 inch serrated utility knife only with a forked tip, but it's not. This knife has much finer serrations and slices through tomatoes beautifully! I know a separate tomato knife sounds like over-kill, but we slice tomatoes daily. I plan to use the 5 inch serrated utility knife for bagels, lemons, limes, etc. and keep this knife strictly for tomatoes.

the bagels will run and hide!
I bought one of these after using one in the caffeteria at work. Then I bought another after my mother took the first one!

Possibly inspired by the French revolution, the Bagel Biter borders on overkill - but you can't question it's effectiveness. Drop in a bagel, drop the blade, start schmearing cream cheese. It's very quick, very safe (if you can figure out how to hurt yourself with this, you're too smart for that nonsense in the first place) and very easy to clean. It's nonstick blade should cleave every conceivable bagel in your life.

It misses 5 star perfection on account of messiness - its straighthrough design deposits crumbs right on your countertop. A crumb catcher of some sort would be the garlic spread on the potato bagel :-)

Dual Purpose Quick Action Tool
I've found this Bagle Biter to be a dual action tool. One that slices without dicing and also serves a stress buster after that rough mornin' commute. Never once known to fail and like those watches, it takes a lickin,' and keeps on splitin'those bagels each morning.

Gotta Have The Bagel Biter!
We use one of these at work, and it is the best thing to use to cut bagels safely. When I saw this online at such a great price, I had to have one myself. I don't know how many times I've cut my fingers using regular knives to cut bagels! This holds the bagel for you, and all you do is push the blade through the bagel. The blade is sharp enough to easily glide through with one push. It is great! If you've gotta have a bagel, make sure you've got the bagel biter!

Great Knife - Bad Box
Although this knife works as well as I would expect an electric
knife to work, getting into the box is a @#%*&@*!! The large
fork is a plus.

Great buy... exceeded expectations
This was my first electric carving knife and it has been goodbye uneven chunks of meat since then. It is easy to use, clean and store. The blades are sharp, it is easy to manouvre and comfortable to hold. I am a small time caterer and was afraid to offer any thing that needed carving... but now I'm a happy slicer.

Great Item!
After having a rechargeable knife that was not very "user friendly", I have enjoyed using this knife. It is ready to go the minute I plug it in. The case is very handy and the price is reasonable.
