The Best Frying Pan I've Ever Owned-Really!
I bought this OXO pan from Amazon.com back when it was regularily priced around $42.00. I was hesitant to buy at that price but gave it a try. Even at that price I am thankful I purchased it. At the clearance price it's at now, it's an absolute steal-buy it while you can.

The pan is a generous 12 inches in diameter, with the walls standing at 2.5 inches high (measured from the inside). The 8-inch long handle is made of stainless steel and is covered with that soft, black rubber OXO grip that we all have seen. At the end of the handle there is a d-shaped hole for hanging. There's a "helper handle" on the opposite side from the main handle to assist in lifting the pan if it's too heavy. The lid is made of tempered glass, comes with an OXO soft grip handle, and has an aluminum metal ring around the edge where it meets the pan.

The hard anodized aluminum body of the pan is considered to be a medium to heavy weight. The inside non-stick surface cleans like a dream. This pan puts my set of T-Fal to shame. The pan heats up quickly and distributes heat evenly, all on a medium heat. This OXO 12-inch Chicken Fryer isn't just for frying chicken. Buy it and it will quickly become your favorite all purpose pan.

This takes salmon to a whole new level!
I lived in the Pacific Northwest for the past 8 years, and I was always looking for new ways to prepare salmon. Poached salmon with a Hollandaise sauce is WONDERFUL (& easy!). Here's my recommendation for poaching liquid:
2 Quarts water
3 cups dry white wine
2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
2 small onions, quartered
3 carrots, chopped
3 sprigs fresh parsley
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 bay leaf
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns, cracked

Combine all ingredients in the poacher & bring to a boil with salmon (whole or pieces) in place. Reduce heat to a very low simmer for about 1 hour. Lift fish & serve with Hollandaise sauce.
Enjoy!

    Just big enough for wings
My husband kept "threatening" to make his own wings. Uh huh......keep saying that & one day you will, right ? Well, for Xmas, I got him this baby. I wrapped it up with some Crisco & wing sauce and put it under the tree. Guess what ? It was the big hit of Christmas. In no time hubby was the wing master ! This little fryer will keep a man occupied for hours, thinking of new things to fry. Donuts, shrimp, chicken, wings, egg rolls,potatoes...oh, and lets not forget. There is also a fried oreo. Only thing we don't like is that it will overflow . Five r six wings is the limit. The grease will bubble out & pour down the counter. Comes with a "scooper" and a lid, so you can reuse the oil. Heats fast and evenly, too.

    Presto Fry Daddy Junior
My wife is from Colombia, and therefore regularly fries plantains, yucca, and potatoes. This unit is heats up very quickly, and has an electrical cord that attaches to the unit by means of a magnetic lock. So, if the device is bumped somehow it will automatically become disconnected from power. Good forethought on the manufactures part. (Though, it won't help boiling oil from spilling on the floor :) )

It is a little small, but that's fine for our two-person family. Im also not a big fan of the plastic top, which I worry might become disformed or burned over time if replaced on the unit before it has completely cooled.

The spatula also leaves something to be desired, but since the real product is the fryer itself, I wouldn't knock it, but I would recommend a more solid utensil, one with a much longer handle and a deeper scoop, if you don't have one already.

    Great Cooker...DANGEROUS ADVICE
I had to comment on Delicious D's review. The correct kitchen items for suppressing a grease fire (or other flame) are Baking SODA or SALT to smother the flames. FLOUR dust in the AIR can ignite EXPLOSIVELY. Concrete grain silos have been blown to bits by ignited flour dust. Sorry Delicious D. Otherwise your review was right on. I have used a Fry Daddy in my kitchen for over 10 years. I store it in my refrigerator and filter the peanut oil thru cheesecloth every couple of uses and the oil stays fresh for quite a long time.

    Great Deep Fryer
I just got my deep fryer, pulled it out of the box and hooked it up. In about 5 mins the oil was hot enough to cook my fries. I have not had any problems with the unit at all. The unit heats the oil very fast and has an indicator light when its ready. It has several unique safety features built in. Food comes out great. The best deep fryer I have ever owned.

    -Update

Had my deep fryer for about 2 months, and to look back I dont know how I got along without it. The Fryer heats up to a marked temperature of 375 degrees, and will shut off if its gets over like 550. I have gotten tremendous use out of this fryer and it has definently paid for itself from less power, and time saved. I am still very happy with the heat up time and, how fast it recovers its temperature.

    What a fryer!
After months of begging, my wife finally gave in and gave the green light for a fryer purchase. I read reviews regarding various other fryers, checked technical specs, and finally decided on the Waring. Ironically, this is the only fryer which I could not find a review. So I'm rectifying that situation. The Waring uses the most wattage compared to any other fryers. This translates into less time waiting for the oil to achieve the desired temperature and a quiker recovery time. The design is functional as well as industrial. The elevated basket hanger allows placement of food into the basket and oil to drain prior to removing the food. With the window built into the lid the food can be monitored without removing the entire lid which helps keep heat in the fryer and grease off the walls. The break-away cord is genius. This feature houses a magnet in the appliance plug which holds it in place. If a slight amount of tension is placed on the cord it releases from the back of the fryer rather than pulling the entire unit, hot oil and all, off the counter...outstanding safety feature. The dials are easy to use, although the bell is a tad hard to hear when the timer is finished. The basket will hold enough food for our family of four. If more food is need the recovery time to reheat the oil to cooking temperture is minimal. The oil basin is stainless steel, easily removed and has a built in spout to facilitate emptying the oil. Cleaning the unit is simple. Remove the lid, then the heating element with controls, dump the oil, and wash the basket, oil basin in the sink. The heating element can be wiped down with a dish towel. Using the cooking guide included in the instructions results in crispy, fully cooked food with minimal grease. We were pleasantly suprised with not only the quality of the food but how often we use this fryer.

    Can't be beat.
This is a PERFECT machine. Don't waste your money on cheaper fryers.

Good for indoors but no comparison to outdoor smoker
This is a nice product for those of us who aren't fortunate enough to have a backyard grill and want to add a lite smoke flavor to the foods we cook. However, if you've ever used a real outdoor smoker, don't expecting results anywhere near as good.

Also, the smoker I got seemed to leak quite a bit. I followed the directions about adjusting the lid but it didn't help. What I did to fix the problem was to take a pair of pliers and clamp down on the runners/guides of the lid to make a tighter seal. This helped quite a bit but I wouldn't recommend it unless you know you're going to keep your smoker as it left marks.

    Well wha da ya know
As a outdoor gotta use charcoal, dyed in the wool BBQ nut
I was skeptical, a stovetop smoker??? NO WAY, but I bought one anyway, and was impressed. The baby back ribs were tender juicy and smokey, as were the chicken breasts and the trout. I'm not saying you should toss out your grills and outdoor smokers, it does not take the place of either, but if your cooking a small amout of food for one or two people, its really good. Do not expect it to stay bright and shinney though, it will blacken more and more with each use, but they say in the instuctions, thats good becuase, you're using it

    Amazing results!
I just tried my stovetop smoker and was amazed at the results. I've used a large outdoor smoker for years, and was skeptical about the stovetop smoker. I used it to prepare chicken breasts, and they cooked fast and were juicy and tender, and had just the right amount of smoke flavor. I'm looking forward to using my stovetop smoker for seafood and vegetables. It's a great way to add flavor to food, and a very healthy way to cook.

The smoker is constructed from heavy steel and is well made. I could smell the smoke as the food cooked, but it wasn't intense and there was no smoke in the house. I'll still use my outdoor smoker for batch cooking or for smoking large birds, but expect to get a lot of use out of the stovetop smoker.

Filter and Reuse that expensive peanut oil and save $$$$
I have become a convert to deep frying and would never consider preparing the Thanksgiving (or any other occasion) turkey any other way. Until discovering this filter pump, I used to dispose of the oil as it was just too much work to filter five gallons of peanut oil. Because the oil is more expensive than the turkey, I limited the experience to special occasions. The Eastman pump is so easy to use and filters so thoroughly, I can reuse the oil many times over and use my deep fryer more often. This tool is really an essential item for people who like to deep fry their turkey or chickens outdoors. It doesn't require a lot of time and it eliminates the messy disposal of oil. Needless to say, it will pay for itself in 2-3 uses, as peanut oil can cost up to twenty dollars for a five gallon container. Replacement filters are easily obtained at [an online source].

    TOO BAD
I have used this 60 qt over and over in my personal brewery, some quick mods to the container and you had one heck of an inexpensive brew kettle.

    Good pot for the money
This is a good pot for the money. You certianly can't beat $$$$ for a 15 gallon stainless steel pot. The only problem with the pot is that the metal on the bottom of the pot is thinner than the metal on the sides. This is fine for liquid but if you need even heating then you would be better off getting a more heavy duty pot. I'm using it to brew beer and it is just fine for that purpose.

    great product
was a find for sure...this size and stainless and good craftmanship

    Good price --- OK product
The reason we bought this was because it was the cheapest amoung the deep friers. It doesnt get very hot and that gets annoying, seeing that it takes way too long to cook.

    GREAT FRYER!
Only drawback is that you can not see your food cooking as it states that you can; otherwise, I think this is a great fryer. Easy clean-up and storing of oil in removable pot. I highly recommend.

Good appliance for a reasonable price!
We bought this deep fryer about a year ago and it has worked VERY well for us all this time! It comes with a removable nonstick oil pot so you can store the oil without draining (and makes clean-up a breeze), the basket handle allows lowering and raising of food into oil (WHILE the top lid is closed) - so once you get your cooking times perfected, the cooker never needs opening except for loading/unloading (plus it is safer that way with no oil splatter/mess/odor)! It also has a changeable carbon filter, is dishwasher safe and has a nice big window so you can check on your food without opening the whole thing (and messing up the temperature)! To me it is definately worth the [$] more than the "usual" presto fry daddys out there! (A friend of mine also uses it to melt soy wax for making candles!)
