BFLO Wings and things
My Boyfriend loves this fryer, He is from Buffalo and craves traditional wings like those made in Buffalo NY. He uses this at least once a week. It is perfect for making small batches of fried goodies.
I love the fact that it keeps him from distroying my kitchen when he makes fried foods. It never splatters beyond the unit itself. Great fryer for small batches or when one person likes fried food and the other dosen't.

great way to cook
The fryer works great - temperature settings, controls, speed of heating. Magnetic power attachment a nice touch. Capacity is kind of low, but for the price, it's a good deal. The removable frying pot is great for clean up. Outer plastic really does stay cool. The old stainless fryers could burn you on contact. The oil does tend to splatter beyond the inner bowl onto the heating element, so odor is a small problem. Other than that, great value. Nothing like home made french fries!

Great Deep Fryer!
I received this for my birthday and am very pleased with the performance. We've used it at least 10 times in the last month, from small batches of food to large batches of chicken wings and everything has come out perfectly. I've never used a deep fryer before so I figured there would be a learning curve for getting the foods cooked right but there doesn't seem to be one...couldn't be easier to use and clean up is a snap! Love the removable inner pot!

Dangerous
All turkey frying machines are dangerous. Use this product, if so inclined, but be careful.

Good Unit, Wish Packing Was Better
The first one of these we received was on time but could have been packed better by the manufacturer. We ended up with a thumbnail-sized hole rubbed through the non-stick coating on the inside of the basket. However, Amazon took it back with no problems and shipped another one without hassle. All we had to do was print out the label, tape the box closed and drop it off at the UPS office.

The second unit still could have been packed better, even though Amazon put it inside of another, larger box this time. We had a few dings on the teflon but not enough to affect the performance (we hope). It was dented also, but the dents were easy to push back into shape so we accepted it.

Assembly of the burner stand is a little tedious but fairly normal. Cooking is great. The burner is powerful and quick to heat the oil. Took about 15 minutes to heat 4 gallons. Just don't let the thermometer get held between the bird and the wall of the fryer or you'll end up heating the oil to over 400 degrees like I did. Whee! The video that comes with it is good for starters but it is filled with plugs for Eastman Outdoors products, and the guy is just goofy. But it helps if you have never deep fried a turkey before to see it done on film.

All in all a good set from what I can tell, although it's my first one so what do I know!

EastMUN does it again
Eastman. No two words in the english language are more evocative. We know very little; only that he comes from the East to provide outdoor cookware.

Thank you, Eastman.

So far, so good
Recently acquired this fryer after getting burned by a Euro Pro model (the Euro Pro stoped working mid way through it's third batch of food). So far, I've been through three batches of chicken wings with the T Fal fryer with good results. Heating is reasonably fast, the capacity is generous. Very nice to have a sealed lid as well... most of the fryer smell stays put (where it should!) in the fryer.

Things I'd like to improve upon:
Removable bowl for the fryer.

Another indicator to let you know the unit is on. Currently, the only time the light is on is when the unit warms up. After it gets to the set temp, the light goes out.

More robust temperature setting: the slider is fairly loose... could easily get bumped and adjust temp settings without you realizing it.

We'll see how it does over time but am pleased so far.

Works pretty well....
I got this deep fryer 2 weeks ago and since then I've made 4 batches of "freedom" fries and one batch of fried chicken - which was actually multiple baskets of 4 breasts and 14 legs. I think its a nice unit and it cooked everything fine - but - the inside of the fryer does NOT come out to clean. The top comes off and, obviously, the basket comes out. But those aren't the important parts... after making the chicken, the oil was very dirty... so I had to carry the whole unit out and dump the oil... then, because the unit can't be submerged in water, I had to put the fryer in an empty sink and wash out the inside of the fryer with a sponge... a few times. Not a show stopper... but, I think it might be worth getting the T-Fal fryer with the removable drum...

Works well and lots of fun!
I've used this cotton candy maker just a few times (so I can't speak to any long-term use issues), but I've had good luck each time so far. Acting on the advice of other reviews for similar products, I used the special sugar sold for cotton candy makers rather than regular table sugar - so I can't say how well table sugar will work. However, the special sugar doesn't cost much and is easy to find on eBay. You will make one cone of candy (not quite the size you find at the ballpark or fairground, but big enough) with each tablespoon of sugar, which is the maximum the manufacturer recommends using each time - so it will take time to make several cones for multiple kids. I found the machine sturdy enough, with a nice wide bowl to collect the candy threads in, and it's a lot of fun to use. The rubber feet keep it well anchored to the tabletop.

great economical fryer
simple, straight forward and low priced. this fryer was made for people who fry once a week or less.pre-heat for 10 minutes and you're ready to fry at 375 degrees which just happens to be the perfect temp. for frying most foods. use a splatter screen to catch any popping grease & help control odors.the plastic lid is nice for storing oil for re-use.if you fry a lot, you might want to consider paying more for a model with basket & temp controls etc., however the chef's fryer is perfect for the infrequent fry cook.

Sent it back
I brought this Rival deep fryer based upon the reviews and the brand name. For me, the Pros are: fast to heat up(dial lights up when on and green light comes on when it is ready)-no beep like on the stove timer, easy to clean the housing, cooked so fast that the chicken was almost too dry, the price wasn't bad, and finally has large capacity. Now, the cons are: took up much counter space (handle sticks far out), required a gallon of oil to fill to the min. level, but the basket fill-line level was marked very low compared to the entire basket, my husband complained of very pungent greasy odor when entering the house(the odor filter was supposed to I thought contain most of cooking odor), I couldn't not view the food even after following the direction to drop oil on the inside window(so I had to lift the top each time to look to see if it was done) and lastly I had to really scrub to get the basket clean to send it back after using it once. Overall, did a good job but required too much space and oil. I went back to the chicken fryer. Cheaper; requires less space and oil.

excellent buy
This deep fryer has a removable pot, which makes it easy to clean;its 3 litre capacity is perfect for a family of 2-3 and you don't waste too much oil. I have been searching a good deep fryer for a long time, and as soon as I saw this one in Target store, I knew this is the one. I had other deep fryers before and the designs are so stupid, which makes it so difficult to clean. For this one,its design is just the way I want it to be and cannot get any better.

I love this fryer!
This is a great fryer! I use it at least 4 or 5 times a week.. sometimes more. Someone said that the level of oil was really low.. well, it is. But when you place food into the basket and then into the oil, the oil rises.
Yes, you do get an oil smell in your house after using it, but you get that with every fryer.
We love the stainless steel look of this fryer and everything about it! We have had this for about a year and it still looks new even though we use it so much!!! If you are looking for a fryer, this is definately the one to get!

Poor Performance for batter fried foods
I thought the idea of the food not staying in the oil for the entire cooking time was a good idea; and maybe it is. However, our deep frying is mainly batter fried foods like coconut shrimp, fried oysters, etc. With this unit the batter will flow through the wire basket and stick to the basket. This makes it impossible to remove the food without practically destroying the food in the process. It seems to me a nonstick basket would be an excellent idea; I guess the DeLonghi engineers never thought of that. It may work just fine for french fries or breaded food; I don't know. If batter fried foods are your preference, stay away from this unit.

Mom, is the chicken ready yet?
I purchased the DeLonghi Rotating Deep Fryer F-895 after reading the excellent reviews in magazines and on line and liked the fact that you didn't have to use as much oil as the traditional fryers. I don't tolerate reheated oil very well so I only use the oil 2/3 times before dumping. There is NO ODOR while the food is cooking which was a plus since I don't like to smell food odors after I've eaten. I intended to only use the fryer once a week, but found myself using it 2/3 times a week - LOVE THOSE FRENCH FRIES!

The only problem I had with it was size. I have a family of 4 and found that I could only cook small portions of food at one frying. By the time I had dinner ready, I would end of cooking about 3/4 portions which took me 35/45 minutes to complete. If I cooked chicken legs, they had to be small. If they were on the large side, it took longer and sometimes the chicken would toughen in the process. Overall, this is an excellent fryer if you keep to small boneless pieces. French Fries were delicious as well as fried vegetables.

The DeLonghi Rotating Deep Fryer makes an excellent wedding gift for couples; however, I would not recommend it for families larger than 3.

After watching a QVC advertisement, I ordered a cook's essentials 3.5qt cool wall stainless steel deep fryer and am anxious to see how well it fries food. This is a large fryer and hopefully I will be able to deep fry everything in 1 or 2 fryings. As far as odors are concerned, I'll cook outside.

I will do a review on this fryer in about 3-4 weeks.

This One Can't Be Beat
For home use, this fryer simply cannot be beat. We're on our second, after my mother-in-law convinced us to give her our old one. The first roto-fryer we picked up, some 10 years ago, is still in operation at the in-laws house. Of course we're even more pleased with the newer fryer as they added teflon to the interior for easy cleanup and a drain tube, which makes cleanup a cinch.

This will cook about the healthiest deep fry around. We have had several deep fryers over the years, and none are as crisp and grease free as the roto fryers. It is no gimmick; it really works.

Some here have complained it is too small. It doesn't take that long to cook items in there, so if huge portions are your thing it won't take that much longer. It is average size and will easily cook servings for 4...or should I say recommended serving sizes. Some have complained about liquid batters getting stuck in the basket. As a fast food worker in my teens, this will be true of any backet I've ever seen. Easiest way around this is to pick up a piece of stainless steel screen from your local hardware store to place in the basket, and any basket will cook all the tempura you can throw at it. Or you can pull the basket, although the whole purpose of this fryer is to move items in and out of the oil and it doesn't really contain that much oil.

So if plugging up your heart and huge portions are your thing, I'd look elsewhere. If you want a healthier choice in deep frying, easy cleanup, save on your oil use, etc., give this one a try. You will not be disappointed in the final product.

My unbiased review
Having read all the reviews for each of the deep fryers on here, I decided to give the T-fal a try, even though a few of the reviews were negative. My first use after receiving it was "interesting", There were a few things that concerned me, such as a little smoke, and a few "pops", which could have been caused by soap that I may not have completely rinsed off when I washed the oil pan before using. Also, after the specified cooking time for french fries, they were nowhere near done, so I figured I had one of the bad units I read about in the reviews, until I realized that I accidentally snapped off the magnetic plug (safety feature) on the back when I moved the fryer on the counter.

Now, for the good part of the review. Starting with the second use, everything worked perfectly. I used a french fry recipe I saw on a TV show where you cut/slice the potatos (3/8" cut), soak in ice-water to release starch and keep from browning, dry them, cook them at 325 for 3 minutes, drain them, bring oil up to 375, then cook for another 4 minutes...and they turned out perfect! (I'd put them up against McD's any day). After that, I figured out the timing to make french fries and chicken nuggets at the same time, all in a shorter amount of time than the suggested cooking times for the T-fal. That's about 15 nuggets and a "large order" of fries all done at once! The food was crisp, done perfectly, and was not greasy at all.

My comments on concerns I read in the reviews:

Temperature swings: I don't have a deep-fry thermometor, but it does cook crisp fries and chicken nuggets in less time than the T-fal instructions recommend.
Oil odor: Slight - didn't last, and it wasn't bad.
Can't find filters: www.t-fal.com has replacement filters, although the model number doesn't match...it looks like the same one.
Broke after 'X' number of uses: I've only used it 10 times so far, no problem. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Bottom line: Great food - fast. I'm glad I bought it.

This is the one you want!
Adjustable temps, NO odors the next day, and changeable carbon filter elements, dish-washable everything that gets oily, removable oil container so you can store the oil without draining (I just put saran wrap over and rubberband around top, pop in fridge when cool). Fast recovery heater gives tight temp control, as well as quick heat-up. Trick basket handle allows lowering and raising of food into oil, *while* top is sealed, so once you get your cooking times perfected, cooker never needs opening except for loading/unloading. Safety and no oil splatter/mess/odor; nice. I studied all the reviews & features before buying this one; I think it's the best T-FAL has to offer. Cook Thai, Viet, and Chinese 'wok' deep-fry without the odors and mess. I'm sold.

makes deep frying so easy!
We shopped around for deep fryers & ended up deciding to get one that had all dishwashable parts (basket, inner container, lid). Well, this one ended up being in my boyfriend's gold box & it was one of the models we were considering, so he bought it. We are so happy with it. It makes deep frying so easy! And clean-up is a breeze!

Good points:
1) Everything we'd cooked comes out crisp & not greasy. No more soggy oven baked fries for us. But, we have only used it on the highest temperature setting... the others seem too low for us. We measured the temperature and it does heat up to the right temp.

2) No odors, but some steam does come through the lid. We do run the range top exhaust fan whenever we cook & the fryer is near the range so that might help.

3) We really like the removeable inner container. You can either store the oil in the fryer at room temp or put the inner container into the refrigerator. Cleaning it is really easy too since you can put everything in the dishwasher. In most other models we saw, the inner container was not removeable. We like being able to dishwash it. The removeable inner container also makes filtering the oil easy. We just put a paper towel over a seive and filter the cooled oil through that.

Minor complaints:
1) The handle seems kind of delicate though, so I wouldn't leave it in the open position because it could get broken off if bumped.

2) And the electrical cord is kind of short. Our kitchen cabinets are kind of low, so we have only one spot on the counter where it can go & the cord is barely long enough to place it there. A cord a few inches longer would give us more options.

3) The basket does seem kind of shallow/small. It'd probably be hard to cook large or tall items. But, we don't really eat large pieces of fried food, so this hasn't been an issue. We just like having some fried food along with the rest of our meal. Also, there's just 2 of us (though he eats as much as 3 normal sized people), but it seems to make more than enough. And it's easy enough to use that you could fry a few more batches if needed.

All in all, we think this was a great purchase. Deep frying used to be a big project with a messy clean-up when you're done, but now it's so simple! This is one of the best things we've bought!

OK quality, but functional
Everything is top quality except the kettle itself. The stainless still is thin and dents easily. It's freakin' chinese made, so you get lesser quality. However, I couldn't find a cheaper pot of similar quality.

The burner and strainer are top quality. The kettle came with dents already visible. I've been using it as a brew pot to boil wort and will test it with turkey in a few weeks. However, the BTU output is obviously up to the task.

My only problem is the stainless steel in the pot is a tad too thin. I just hate to see "Made in China" on anything I buy. I'd rather pay an extra... and read made in USA.

Overall, though, I guess it meets my expectations for performance. I mean after all, I didn't buy the damn thing to hang on the wall and show everyone my dent free stainless steel wort kettle. I do wonder if it will last though 10 years, 20-30 turkeys and 500 gallons of beer wort though.

Good stainless a bit thin
For the money this is a great pot. The stainless is high quality but a little thin. I don't mind because I won't use it that often and it's easy to clean. Much easier than aluminum. I priced a restuarant quality ss pot this size at a local supply house and it was twice as much. Great pot for a couple days a year use.
