Best charcoal grill I ever used. I've used this grill all summer and just cooked some ribs tonight during a snow storm....because it is that good! I like the fact that the grate is hinged for easy lifting. I also love the storage space underneath. And since it is cast aluminum, it will never rust. The large cooking surface is very nice for large cook outs. For the money, this is undoubtedly the best grill you can buy.

The Portable Kitchen is simply the best and most versatile charcoal grill ever built. It is a great smoker; it is great for steaks, chops, burgers, dogs, etc. You can cook anything on it you can cook in the kitchen. It will even bake breads and pizza. I inherited mine from my dad, who bought it when I was in my teens (I am now in my 50's). I have burned up the grill and the charcoal grate, but the PK is still in use and doing well. It is at least 40 years old and going strong. I was not able to find replacements for the grill and grate so I repaired mine using expanded metal from the hardware store. For a while the PK was not available. It is grand to see that it is back in production and readily available. The grill and grate are also available for those of you who have burned up yours.

I inherited the original from my grandfather and it is STILL going strong. It holds heat beautifully for slow smoking - just put the fire & wood chips at one end of the grill & the food (over a disposable pan) on the opposite end. It's easy to roll from place to place (great if it starts raining & you have to move to the garage to finish!). This grill is the envy of my friends & family - I never thought to see this level of quality reproduced.

This is the best Charcoal Smoker Box you can buy. Made well and is worth the money. Very sturdy and heavy,the metal is thick. I use it all the time.Fill it with dry wood chips and your set to BBQ. But,don't wet your wood chips in water. Great item!

I used to try to add smoke flavor when grilling by building a little boat out of aluminum foil, dumping soaked woodchips on it, and putting it in the middle of my coals.

This gadget allows me to generate a lot more smoke for better flavors, and it's easier and faster to use. You can dump a lot more wood into this thing than with some improvised device, and it's easy to clean out. The size is just right for my small Hasty-Bake griller.

I feel silly for having fumbled with foil for so long!

This is my second one. It is a great product. Nothing slips through, it is a perfect size, and it is easy to clean because nothing sticks to it. No serious griller should be without it. Great for veggies, fish, etc....

I bought this set of tools about two months ago, to replace my worn out set. When I took them out of the box, the first thing I noticed was that they look very nice, and, are nice and substantial feeling. I've used the tools to help cook hamburgers, hot dogs, whole chickens, pork chops, steaks, potatoes, and, corn. The tongs easily flip a small whole chicken, and yet can handle delicate work, like hot dogs, without batting an eyelash. The spatula is great for almost anything that needs to be flipped, including burgers, pork chops, and small steaks. I don't use a fork much for grilling, however, I have used this fork to help flip large chickens from the inside, and, as a result of the strong construction, can hold the chicken just with the fork as the grease drains. All in all, this is a great set of tools. I'm looking forward to using this set on my next grilled turkey, as it should make it significantly easier with good, strong tools. If you are a person who does a lot of grilling, this set is a wonderful choice!

We love making chicken kabobs, so after burning our fingers trying to turn the bamboo skewers (blackened on the ends and all), we finally decided to purchase this great kabob basket. The skewers are sharp and easy to use, they go back in the basket, then lock and go grill. You can turn all the skewers in one turn. I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He bought me a little grill, so I thought he deserved it.

i think i'm the first reviewer on this wonderful item, but it won't be long before 5 star reviews cover this page! i've used the hamburger basket for almost a year now,and still love it. it's made for grilling up to four burgers, but you can also use it for 2-3 steaks, chops etc. if a flare up occurs you can simply lift your burgers or steaks off the fire all at once!they say not to put all your eggs in one basket,but putting all your meat in one basket is the only way to go!! it really should be included in any griller's accessary kit.an easy 5 stars!!!

Living in Alaska I cook/grill a lot of fish. Not tiny fish but BIG fish. And it was great when I saw this over-sized spatula. It was like it was made just for me. lol

It is easy to use. Just slip this puppy under what ever you are cooking and flip it over. No worries about losing half or so of what ever you are cooking. No worries about having to have another person standing next to you using another spatula (or two more people depending on what you are cooking) to turn it over.

It is very easy to use. And easy to clean up. Plus the rosewood looks great.

Me I don't hang mine up, I put it in with my other bbq goodies, but the little "handle" is cool too.

We LOVE these skewers. They are a perfect fit on any dinner size plate, clean up easily and are great to have when using a small grill such as the Weber Q. We can get 8 onto ours! Because we raise Black Angus beef, we believe in serving a lot of it! Just the sight of the simple presentation of succulant, juicy meat dripping onto--not over the edge-- of your plate makes your mouth start to water and your stomach start to GROWL! The Circle Skewers also add a touch of class to any grilled meal! You won't be sorry you ordered them!

Thanks again to Weber-Stephens for making an excellenct product. This is my third Weber grill, but I still have the first. These products last a lifetime. This is the king of charcoal grills (which I think are the only kind to have). The best features for me are the charcoal storage area and the gas ingnition system, no more messing with smelly lighter fluids. Thanks, Weber-Stephens, now I can't wait for my wife to say "Honey, you can light the grill."

I've been a Weber man for years, and have burned the grates out of 3 of them - that should give you some idea on how often we fire up the grill.

We used our Performer for the first time yesterday. Does it work any better/worse than my other Weber kettle grills? Well, no - tough to improve on the basic kettle design for cooking. BUT, it is just so damn convenient!

First, the ash catcher lets you keep it on a wooden deck, and not out on the yard/concrete patio. So now I'm cooking right next to the party which is generally on the deck.

Second, Charcoal is right there in the bin, propane is right there in the tank, and the lighter is part of the grill. You walk out to the grill with your dinner. You DO NOT make three trips with the charcoal bag, lighter fluid, where the hell are the matches, etc.

Third, You start the burner under the coals, and you walk away. None of the "did the wind blow out the fire" stuff.

Fourth, those with pets will appreciate having the stainless steel table next to the kettle. I was constantly shooing the dog away from the steaks which I set down on the patio. Now, they're up on the table and out of reach.

So, like I said, it's convenient.

Forget about the gas grill. This beauty with the gas igniter is just as fast in my opinion. Pile up the charcoal with grates that are included, press a button to start the blast flame, and go prep your meal. In hardly no time at all the charcoal is ready to cook over. I tried spare ribs using the indirect heat method the first time I used it and could not believe the ease. Leave the lid on and let the Weber do its job! Try that with a gas grill!
Close the vents to extingish the charcoal then relite it the next time you grill.

OK, you are not going to fool anyone into thinking you went all out and spent a large sum of money. However, if you have someone who likes to BBQ and you need a reasonably priced gift item then this is a great idea. This is especially true if the person is somewhat "blue collar" and won't mind the plastic industrial-looking case.

Like most cheap things made in China the metal is of fairly low quality.

Everyone is giving this set perfect reviews and for how much I paid... I would say it is worth it and then some...
However, I would not say this set is perfect.
First off, it is Made in China. Considering this, I would say the construction of it is very well, the wood doesnt feel cheap and seems durable enough (haven't used it extensively yet). The metal/blades are usable, but I would not consider it ideal or the best for a cook or anyone who barbeques frequently. Pretty much it does its job.
I have two major beef(s) (no pun intended) with this set would be the case and the tong. The case is plastic and is reminiscent of a cheap tool case that comes with tools you buy, but isn't made well enough that you'd actually use it to hold all your tools in. I see the case as being important, and I am not sure this one will last. (barbequeing can get messy)
The second thing is the tong. I would say the tong is probably the most used tool when I barbeque. I use it as a catalyst throughout and even to move things around. This tong hurts my hands and requires quite a bit of grip to even hold comfortably.

Overall, especially for the price, this baby is a steal and a really good present to give anyone who barbques. Despite my two complaints, I use this set whenever I barbeque.

I just got this wonderful BBQ set today - I am simply amazed at the quality & abundance of utensils for the money [$$$] I could seriously see this set in [stores], etc for over [$$$] + tax! I got it for [$$$]... This BBQ set looks very expensive and would make a wonderful gift for your family or a friend! The first thing I thought when I got this set was "WOW, this set is gigantic and looks expensive!", each utensil is extra large and solid and the case is huge. The quality looks great! The handles look like redwood and they appear very sturdy like they'd last for years and years, which is what I and most of you need! There's even an oven mit included! Also, the corn holders are not cheapie plastic like in the store - they're real wood! Don't go out to the store and buy one tool for [$$$] or more....definitely buy this set- you won't regret it! I am BBQ'n tonight!! On a side note, we are a one income family and every dollar counts - that's why I went with this set after searching on Amazon.com - and honestly, it does NOT look like a cheap [$$$] set....this set is QUALITY!! Good luck w/your purchase; it's a MUST have for summer! :-) Enjoy!
