It does the trick, alright! When you're talking 6 SR18 stainless steel primary burners, you're talking one hell of a grill - at least in my book. With
the primary cooking surface being a robust 648 square inches, you can cook for a small, yet hungry army. The 171-square-inch warming racks expands to 361 square inches - that's simply unheard of in the grilling industry. I like grilling out veggieburgers with all the fellas while watching Arena Football -a guy thing, I suppose. With the infallible Smoker System, infrared rotisserie, and two side burners measuredd at 77 x 33 x 50 inches(measured them myself for accuracy), you simply cannot, and I stress the word cannot, go wrong. Suffice it say, this grill does the trick. And that's the 411.

The perfect toolsetThe craftmanship used to produce these tools is superb.
The spatula is the perfect size when making hamburgers, the fork is sharp and sturdy, the pliers can pick up even a big piece of meat.
To top it off, these babys are beautiful as well. (ok so call me a Weber nerd)

Good Grill, Good ValueI don't miss the side burner, but that is your choice. This is the right model for me. The current price is that same price I paid four years ago. If you have natural gas service, get this not the propane model.

Looking for a propane grill?.... LOOK AGAINBecause there were no reviews available on this particular item which is natural gas and because I had never owned a gas grill before, I inadvertantly ordered the wrong product. It proved to be a costly mistake.
As advertised, this grill is quite easy to assemble. It took my wife and I all of a half hour to put it together. The unit is very sturdy and extremely attractive. It was after we had finished assembling it that I discovered my error. There was no way I could ever return it so I called a local plumbing and heating contractor and asked about getting an outdoor connector installed for this grill. Since we already had natural gas I presumed this would be a relatively inexpensive proposition. Boy was I wrong. The cost would have been $700-800 and local building codes prohibited the use of the grill on our deck. The contractor did mention that a conversion kit might be available. His estimate and that piece of advice cost us $45.00.
That is when I contacted Weber. They are a first class company.
I explained my dilemma to the Customer Service Rep. I was told that a conversion kit was available for about $60 and that for a small shipping fee I could have it within just a few days. True to their word the kit arrived when they said it would. I got a bit panicky thinking I was going to have major problems getting this done. So once again, I called Customer Service and they spent more than half an hour with me while I made the switch advising me of every step along the way. Finally, we were ready to cook. The results were fabulous. Since it is only my wife and myself this small unit is fine. But if you have children or do a lot of entertaining, you probably should take the advice of some other reviewers and spring for the three burner unit. In most cases the price of the natural gas and propane models are the same. TAKE CARE TO ORDER THE RIGHT ONE AND THANK YOU WEBER FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!

Supergrill!!I have to warn about the accessories. The reviewer that gave it 1 star was right about the cover. Of course, he is way out of line giving the grill a bad rating because of the optional cover. The cover has mesh vents right above the hood handle. A lot of rain and dirt can get in where you really don't want it. I also have had no luck making the funny basket style rotisserie work. I have a friend that bought the same grill and the same rotisserie, and he says it works fine for him. I guess I just don't get how to work it. As I said, the smoker was a good investment. Oh, yeah, the cast iron griddle is really neat. It eats up half of the grill space (more than half if you leave the smoker in), but grilling onions, peppers, mushrooms, etc. is much simpler on a griddle than a grate. And it fits on our gas stove in the kitchen, too. (psst.. I had to go elsewhere to get the griddle and the smoker - amazon didn't have them, am I allowed to say Abt?)
There are only a couple things that bother me about the grill: the wheels and the way the frame screws tend to work loose. The main wheels are the same as those on my old (real old) Weber Kettle, and those eventually disintegrated. The Genesis wheels show no signs of that happening, but eventually, I'm afraid they will. The little swivel casters on the other end really don't feel like outdoor sort of wheels. They get bogged down in my grass and I tend to lift that end and move it around like a wheel barrow. Maybe that's what causes the frame screws to periodically work loose. That's annoying, but easily fixed with a socket wrench.
But, you know what? The Genesis performs so overwhelmingly well that those complaints pale in comparison. So I will still give it an enthusiastic 5 stars! I love it!

Among best purchases I've ever made (& no it's not too big!)The six burners may seem like overkill (visitors always comment with a snicker about how huge it is), but believe me -- it's extremely easy to use that much cooking space, even for a small family. Imagine being able to grill 3 different types of vegetables while simultaneously searing burgers or chops or fish, all at different temperatures. Imagine having enough room to roast/smoke a 25 lb. turkey entirely with indirect heat (one burner going on either side of the bird with no direct heat underneath).
By the way, Cook's Illustrated Magazine has rated grills a couple of times. They generally conclude that the high-end, $1000+ stainless steel grills are not worth the money -- except for the Weber Summit. The only fault they find with it is that it's only marginally better than the high-end Weber Platinum models that cost hundreds less.
No question that if money's no object, this grill is the best. Don't forget to budget for Weber's custom grill cover.
