Overall Excellent Product
I've had mine for over 6 mos now. I originally bought this to replace a small portable gas burner (using cans of gas) which I used for shabu-shabu & sukiyaki. It takes some time ~12-15 min. to come to a boil on high. And it quickly comes to a boil after adding addtl meat & veggies. Works well to make stews and teppanyaki. Clean-up is a breeze and the non-stick coating is thick (they call it Titanium coating) so it should last a long time. My only complaint is they should have made temp a little higher so it comes to a boil faster. But overall I'm very satisfied and would recommend this item and the brand.

use mine everyday
I use mine everyday. It's a handy extra burner beyond the four on the stove. I have prepared a delicious stew using it as a slow cooker and I have turned it up high and used it as a grill. Cleans up so easily, too.

Best Electric Skillet I've used.
This is my third Electric Skillet. I work 100 miles from home and live in a trailer during the week (the commute is terrible around here, but I can't afford another or even a different house). My propane Stove went out a couples years ago now and I started using my BBQ, A toaster over and/or an electric skillet instead. My first skillet was "Silver stone" coated. First time I burnt something in it was the last. I then bought a Stainless Steel pan but didn't like the temperature control and it can be hard to clean. This Zojirushi pan not only can be used to higher temperatures (460F instead of the usual 400F), it's a dream to clean and the temperature control is great. I've already burnt something (on Purpose) Blackened peppercorn Rib Eye. Great!!! (anyone got a good air purifier, next time I'll do it on the porch, another advantage, its portable) But nothing sticks to it, don't even need oil or butter. I like it so much I've ordered the larger Sizzler and started using it too. It's got a larger surface and the sides aren't as deep so it's easier to get a spatula into. Also it goes to 480F (call the Fire Department, yee hah). The design is different, but it's a great pan too.

Holds Large Vinyls and small 7"
This record holder makes a great gift during christmas to those not so special relatives you can never buy anything for. It holds up to 15 old vinyl records, including the cover. I gave my uncle one of these along with 22 scratched Bing Crosby records and he really loved it.

Keeps the Weber Q clean
If you store your Weber Q outside, then you must get the vinyl cover. The material is well made so the cover will never rip. Fits perfect on the Weber Q. I Love it.

The George Foreman Grill really does "cut the fat" from food
This is easily the best "As Seen On TV" product ever made (I'd like to see Ronco top this marvelous machine). As I am writing this review, I am eating boneless skinless chicken breasts that were made on the George Foreman "Champ" Grill". They are so good that words cannot describe how good they are...just sprinkle some "Mrs. Dash 'Table Blend'" on the chicken breasts before you cook them, put them on the grill, and have a great chicken dinner (only other thing you have to do is find something to go along with the chicken [maybe some white rice]). Cleanup is so easy it's ridiculous! The nonstick surface allows you to clean the grill surface with a soft clean cloth or sponge (dampened with warm water, of course), and the drip tray can go in the dishwasher. Just yesterday I prepared some turkey burgers (from Wampler Foods) on the grill, and it is amazing how much fat will be drained from turkey burgers (even though turkey meat has less fat that ground beef [which is what hamburger patties are made of], it still has fat). The George Foreman Grill really does "cut the fat" from food!

Bought it as a joke, but now I LOVE it!
I bought the George Foreman grill as a joke for my husband (it DOES say "Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" on it), but we used it for three weeks solid after it arrived. The reason? It's EASY, and the food turns out really tasty!

This particular model is big enough only for two hamburgers (if you make them to fit... pre-frozen patties are too big and have to be cooked one at a time). More often, you have to cook one portion of meat at a time. The grill is tilted and comes with a trough so that all excess fat is drained away from your food. Pretty nifty! It's also fairly easy to clean up -- you just wipe down the grill and throw the trough in the dishwasher.

We've used the grill for chicken breasts, Boca Burgers, regular burgers, pork chops, steaks, and even bacon strips (it's GREAT for avoiding a bunch of messy bacon grease). It cooks even frozen meat in a relatively short period of time, and it cooks it thoroughly. It's easy to throw something on the grill, sprinkle some seasonings on it (BAM!), and let it cook for a few minutes while you fix the rest of the meal. It is hard to overcook things, and it's fun to have grill-lines on your food.

It was hard for me to believe the hype about the George Foreman Grills, but they are easy to use and deliver good results. In fact, this might be a good way to introduce your older children (12 and up) to rudimentary cooking. The George Foreman grill would be great for people who don't have a lot of time to cook & clean, who aren't yet confident cooks or don't have a lot of cooking experience. This small model would work in a dorm suite, a bachelor pad, for newlyweds, or anyone who doesn't want to feed a crowd (although you could do it with this one, it would just take awhile).

Best value going
First, I never write reviews -- this thing is just that good. I picked this little guy up when I was trying to up the protein and decrease carbs in my diet. That's pretty hard to do -- you find yourself cooking more, but with work I'm too busy to take a lot of time. Sound familiar? This thing makes short work of everything from fish to red meat -- draining the fat is a bonus. Couple of tips: 1) the top is hotter than the bottom, so cook fish like salmon skin-up to avoid crisping the tender side. You'll want to flip burgers and steaks & 1/4 turn them -- you'll get the same grill marks that the good steak places give you. 2) don't move this to the sink to clean it...it's reliable as long as you take it easy -- I clean mine by scraping after cooking with the included spatula and then when it's cool with a paper towel...the non-stick is pretty good.

Worthwhile investment!
If you have a family of four (or less if they're big eaters!) this is the grill for you. So far, I've cooked chicken, hamburger, and steaks on it, all in less than 10 minutes. Although it comes with a handy cookbook, you'll be able to adapt many of your regular recipes for use with this grill, whether the recipes call for grilling, broiling, frying, or baking. The grill holds about 3 "whopper" sized burgers, 4 good-sized burgers, or 6 smaller ones. For chicken breasts, it can hold 4-6 (maybe more) depending on size.

This particular model comes with 2 spatulas and 2 dip trays. Yes, the grill can be hard to clean if you don't wipe it off right away. The best way to clean it is to use the spatulas to scrape off the grill as soon as you remove your food. Then, as soon as you've eaten (and the grill has cooled a bit), wipe the grill down with warm, soapy paper towels. If you wait too long, the grease is hard to remove (be sure to wipe under the rim, too, for grease builds up there and might be hard to see). I haven't had any trouble with the teflon coating coming off, and I also find the spatulas easy to use (though they are a bit flimsy, but you can use any plastic utensil you want). The spatulas don't work as well scraping the grease from the very tip of the grill's bottom piece, as the grooves are deeper there than elsewhere. But for the job it does, the clean-up is worth it. This model is large, making it difficult to store in certain cabinets, but I use mine so often it just stays on the counter.

I would definitely recommend a George Foreman grill of any kind. It delivers what it promises: healthier food, and fast! You'll find yourself using the oven a lot less.

Puts the sizzle into cooking
I am seriously cooking challenged, perhaps the biggest moron from any kitchen in North America. In my early 40's, I can barely boil water and have never made a hot meal for myself. I rely on fast food and my dinner generally consisted of Cheerios (literally). Everyone at work have urged me for over a year to get the George Foreman grill. I warily watched George's infomercials and grudgingly resisted taking the plunge to buy this grill. I thought there was no way it could possibly be as easy as Foreman made it seem. Boy, was I wrong.

I have had this grill for over a year and can honestly attest this is the best fifty bucks I have ever plucked down. Already I have made hamburgers in a jiffy, grilled salmon, shrimp and boneless chicken breasts. This may seem like nothing to you, but for someone who regarded Shredded Wheat as a gourmet meal, this grill has put a huge smile on my face, not to mention my husband, who is dancing a jig whenever the cooking aroma wafts his way.

Using the grill really is as easy as the infomercials claim. Grab your hamburger patties, sprinkle on some seasoning, pluck them down on the grill, close the lid and six minutes later you have a perfectly cooked burger. I was in ecstasy the first time I tasted one of my creations. No longer am I the most cooking challenged human being on the planet, I am giving Julia Childs a run for her money. God bless George Foreman, this product is fantastic. If you're a novice cook or a pro, you can't go wrong with this product.

AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT
I bought the George Foreman jumbo grill in April, and it is by far the best grill I've ever used. A day rarely goes by when I'm not cooking something on it.

The key aspect I must touch base on where the grill is concerned is how it literally drains the fat from your food. I was astounded by the amount of fat that came off 4 1/4 lb. hamburgers. I ultimately thought back about how much fat we consume per day without even knowing it. Meanwhile, the grill manages to retain the taste and juciness of the food you cook.

The fact that you can cook frozen food is an added bonus as well, especially for someone like me who usually waits until the last minute to decide what to eat.

I mainly use it when cooking chicken breasts. From the frozen state to fully-cooked takes approximately 10 minutes, and the result is incredible.

I also found clean up to be a breeze. The plastic scrapers which come with the grill are practically useless. Your best bet is to use either a wet cloth or a wet paper towel to wipe down the grill WHILE it is still warm. It will be clean in no time.

The grill is incredibly easy to use, and with the easy clean-up, you can simply wipe down the machine and be ready to use it again. I find this especially handy when cooking for a large group of people.

So, if you're looking to cook low-fat food that is absolutely mouth watering, quick, and easy. You can't go wrong with this product. I recommend it to anyone.

Happier than expected
We originally were looking at a George Forman grill since, after all, GF grills are the "kings" of the market. We liked this because it was bigger and would handle our 2 adult, 2 young children family better.

We are very happy with it. The pluses are that it cooks great with it's top and bottom cooking, gives you a timer to limit how long you cook so you don't overcook, is very easy to clean up, and has a slanted surface to drain off the fat into a small removeable fat holder. It folds up and stores on it's side -- very nice!

The only less-positive comment is that the grill area does not come out, which would make cleaning the outside edges a bit easier (I'm sloppy at times so at rare times, the sauce goes outside the main grill area). Also, you can not adjust the temperature. (Not that I would know what to adjust it to.)

However both of these points are common to most of the other grills and they are minor.

All in all, I'm extremely happy with the grill! And the food it cooks taste great! I''d by it again if I needed to.

This is a great grill!
I never thought I would every buy one of these. I was surprised when my brother told me he had a George Foreman grill. He told me it actually did a nice job grilling. I was intrigued since my brother likes good food. So I started looking at prices. I was surprised how much they cost. Then I ran across the Hamilton Beach on Amazon. It was a great price for the size, so I decided to go for it. I couldn't wait to try it out. It shipped quickly...! I grilled two 1/3 lb burgers, and it had room to grill onions and 1/2 a portabella mushroom on the side at the same time. The burgers were soooo good and juicy, I was amazed! Another day I grilled two new york steaks, wow, and it only took 7 minutes to cook! I've also grilled chicken that was frozen and it came out perfect. Even my 14 mo old loves the meat that I cook on this grill. Not only that, it's a time saver! Now I look forward to cooking and figuring out what I can grill next. There is the clean up, it's not too bad. I just poor some water on the grills and let it soak, and wipe it off in a few minutes. Better then having to clean a BBQ grill. The timer is also nice. Once I forgot to unplug it, and fortunately the timer also turns off the grill, which was a great feature. It could use a larger grease tray. I once squeezed 6 chicken thighs on the grill and there was so much grease/juice that came out that I had to empty the tray midway. Other then that I am extremely happy with this grill.

great grill
have used the George Foreman Grill, then bought this one - love it! The only downside is that it doesn't close all the way when grilling thick steak or chicken, but it still works fine. Grills quickly, and is VERY EASY to clean (unlike the Foreman grills.) I'd highly recommend it.

Loved it, but mysteriously dead
I have owned this panini grill for about 9 months and used it regularly. I loved every sandwich and grilled meat that I cooked in it. But one Saturday, I plugged it in as usual to make my favorite grilled cheese and it was dead, although it had worked perfectly well the day before.

Flama Grill from Sur La offers more features...
I cannot give a hands-on review this Krups, as I do not own one. However, I saw it being demonstrated in a Sur La Table store alongside the Flama Panini Grill. I bought the Flama. The Flama has more wattage (1600), removable drip tray, removable nonstick reversible grill plates (the other side is smooth), 5 heat settings for different types of food, a "broiler" feature to brown the tops of mini pizzas or cheeseburgers. None of these features are available on the Krups model. The Flama isn't as pretty to look at, but it does the job better. Go with the Flama.

This Krups Panini machine is the Greatest!!!
I love this machine. It's hot, it's fast, and it makes the crunchiest thin sandwiches in minutes. I use the olive spray on the outsides, and either ham, turkey or chicken slices, or grilled veggies, all with a little cheese on the insides. Thin tomato slices with some mozzerella and basil leaves are also great as well as a little brie with just about anything. Use your imagination. I like the idea of the small, gourmet style sandwiches for today's eating. The flatter the bread, the better but the pain rustique bread at Costco works quite well too. Just measure each slice about 2 1/2 inches wide, cut it in half horizontally and fill. Or the straight grilled slices make great crostini and I just top it with an olive spread or a tomato, garlic and basil bruschetta, or a tuscan white bean spread with rosemary. Make them any size you wish. Guests love them with a nice Chianti either for an appetizer or a snack. I will keep my grill for panini and not use it for meat. It's easy to clean; I usually wipe it with a paper towel. It's truly a quality piece of work and I'm totally satisfied with my purchase.

A quick way to cook healty food...with a few problems
This is a wonderful cooking piece for any kitchen. It cooks food fast! I mean really fast. The food also comes out with very little grease. I have found a few problems though. The non stick coating does wear off after awhile. Also, the grill is can be very difficult to clean after you have cooked on it. Please note that while the fat is dripping away so are those tasty juices--so sometimes the food can be a little dried out.

I do recommend this product though for people who don't have a lot of time. You can cook a meal in a matter of only minutes. This is nice because it allows you to avoid the alternative of fast cooking--normally a microwave dinner or something else that isn't to healthy. Great product for people on the go!

Makes indoor grilling quick and easy
I am pleasantly surprised by how well the George Foreman grill works. Even after reading all of the glowing reviews I was still skeptical that this would be a good product, but it has turned out to be a great addition to my kitchen.Using the grill is very simple. Just plug it and let it warm up (strangely there is no temperature setting or on-off switch). Once that is finished, toss on whatever you want to cook, close the lid and come back in a few minutes. I've found that chicken breast and steak cook in a matter of minutes. It also works well for vegetables and seafood. After you're finished cooking, let it cool and then wipe off the grilling surface with a wet towel. It's that simple. The only downside I have found is that it burns foods that are of varying size. For example, if you have a couple of chicken breasts on the grill it will tend to leave a charred film on the top of the largest breast. This can be solved with better food preparation so it is only an inconvenience. Also, if you are trying to decide which size to get and think the XXL might be too big, think again. It is the perfect size for 1 or 2 people. It allows you to cook several pieces of food at once (maybe 3-5 chicken breasts or 2-3 decent size steaks) and doesn't take up an enormous amount of counter space.

George Foreman Grill as it should be...XXL
There are too many great things to say about this little device: It's affordable to anybody, even if you are a student stuck living at school. It's compact, you can store it anywhere--a closet, your car, your office, the kitchen cabinet. It's powerful--I have plugged it in and in just minutes began working on an entire three course meal for six people with only this unit to work with. It's easy to clean--this is one of the few products out there that is every bit as easy to clean as the commercials show it to be on TV. It's is economical, using very little electricity to do a just that would waste electricity in a conventional oven or even an older model microwave oven. It's versatile--I have cooked everything from thin pieces of tempeh strips to thick steaks and it cooks both to perfection. You never would have been able to convince me to buy anything on TV before (and most certainly not from a former boxing champion...) but since a friend both this grill for me I have thanked them time and again (and in turn bought the same gift for many a friend of my own).

It's slowly replacing my oven!
I had wanted to get this grill for awhile, but was still a little leery of its merits. I finally bought it anyway, and so far, have been loving it! I anticipate that during the summer it will replace my oven.

I cook a lot of chicken, either in the skillet, or in the oven. With this grill, you don't have to worry about turning the chicken, watching it, etc. All I really do it watch the clock. The first night I had the grill, I made salmon fillets, and they turned out great.

While I love the grill so far, there are a few things to watch out for. The first time I cooked chicken, I overcooked it..you kind of need to play around with the times in the booklet enclosed with the grill. I also found that I needed to push the grease tray farther back (closer to the grill) than I initially thought. Also, it does get quite smoky, so it would probably be most ideal if your kitchen had some kind of window.

With cleaning, you really do have to do it while the grill is still warm, or it makes it a lot harder to clean off.

I've barely used my oven since getting this grill..in the summer it will be great not having to heat up the whole house.

Received this as a wedding present - very useful!
I read the rave reviews on [Amazon.com] and registered for this (on [Amazon.com]) and received the Family size grill with small cookbook as a wedding present.

It's taken me awhile to get the hang of this product but now I love it. Cleanup took a bit of figuring out for me. I now use only damp paper towels (no scrapers or sponge) to just wipe after use. If I don't end up cleaning it until the next day I just heat it up again with a few wet paper towels in it and then wipe clean. This makes it so easy because you don't have to clean up a sponge or scraper afterwards.

I brush on a bit of olive oil onto the grill (very lightly) before grilling any foods. That seems to help make it taste better and also clean very easily.

This family size fit 4 very big salmon filets easily. (Marinated with Yoshida Gourmet Sauce - yum!) I also grilled two very big chicken breasts last night for a chicken quesadilla recipe. It was so nice not to have to drag out a pan and spatula and stand watching over the chicken. All I did was sprinkle McCormick's Grill Mates Roasted Garlic Montreal Chicken spice over the chicken breasts and slap it in there. Very quick and simple and tasted great.

I also grilled sliced sweet potatoes this morning. Turned out great. Again, no fussing with a pan and oil splattering. There was a bit of smoke though so make sure you have ventilation in your kitchen.

One last thing I wanted to mention... I've only had this item for a month now so I'm not qualified to give feedback on the durability of the teflon yet. Right now it is going strong and I can't imagine it peeling ever but because of the other reviews mentioning the problem I use only chopsticks or some other wooden utensils when removing food. But I'm very good at holding heavy pieces with chopsticks so I don't know if that solution would work for everyone. Chopsticks do make really good cooking utensils though because they are small and easy to clean and don't scratch the nonstick surface.
The other thing I do is not to apply wet paper towels on the grill until it has cooled down a bit (from hot to warm) because I think cooling the grill too fast can be tough on the nonstick surface... maybe make it crack.

BTW, my husband doesn't rave about this product, it's just a good product to him but he wouldn't run out to buy one if he didn't have it he says. But I would. Also, this family size is good for cooking meat for 2-4 people. However, I recommend getting as big a size as you can stand because vegetables take up more space per serving so if you like grilling onions or other vegies, the bigger the surface area the better. It's just the right size for my husband and me with a bit of room to spare in case we have a guest or two over. Thanks everyone for the helpful reviews that led me to this product!

Telling you how it is
This grill is definitely better (dollar for dollar) than the infamous George Foreman grill. My college roommates and I usually buy about fifty frozen hamburger patties from costco every month. Each frozen patty takes only 15 minutes to cook, making it perfect for a quick inbetween-class meal. You'd be suprise at how much grease is extracted from each meal!

Now, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to use this grill in a small room (ie. dorm) unless you don't mind your place smelling like a busy kitchen for a few hours.

The Extra Large Contact Grill is only large compared to the smaller foreman grills. It really will only hold about two steaks, 3 burgers (2 if they're big), 3 chicken breasts, and about 2 lrg pork chops. If you have a big family, I suggest you go up one model to the even bigger grill.

I really don't like washing cleaning. This grill is improved from the previous model, because the heat panels come off, and are dishwasher safe.

In conclusion: Great grill for smaller families. Awesome grill for college folks in an apt/house. Not so good for dormatories. Easy to clean.

Toss your Foreman grill NOW!
The Hamilton Beach Meal Maker Express is not only better designed and more sturdily made, it has more features, and BETTER features. After owning and using this marvel regularly for two years, I do nothing but rave about it to everyone I know.

Fast easy meal for one: 2 frozen chicken thighs, sliced onions and bell peppers. Set the cooker/timer for five minutes, flip chicken (I usually slice it into fajita strips at this point), move onions/peppers around on grill, add some salt and pepper, set timer for 8 minutes and DING! Dinner's ready!

Of course, cooking non-frozen food is quick and easy, too. And, if you've got a lot of mouths to feed, simply lay it flat and get twice the cooking surface.

As others have noted, cleanup is a breeze - just toss everything into the dishwasher if you're lazy (like me). And the grease collector is INSIDE the grill, so you'll never spill the grease all over your counter and floor, as so often happens with George Foreman's crummy shallow-grease-dish-on-the-counter design.

If you're looking for a superior countertop grill, you won't regret replacing your Foreman with the Hamilton Beach Meal Maker. It simply can't be beat. The price is right, too! ...

Great Grill!!!
I used the grill for chicken tenders and in 5 to 7 minutes it was done and very tasty. I marinated the chicken in Teriaki sauce before grilling. Also had steak and did a wonderful job of cooking it. Its fast, easy to clean with the removable grids (grills) and a side drip grease tray. I brought this cause I wanted to cook the meal fast and is easy to clean.

I highly recommend this for a single or a couple of people, otherwise get a bigger one.
