Want to love it, but not completely satisfied
Out of the box this cookware was great. The fit and finish is excellent. Cooking is wonderful with no hot spots like you'd expect with less expensive cookware. My only disappointment is that the non-stick finish does scratch. We use all the appropriate non-metal utincils but after a few years of use the finish isn't what it used to be. For the price one would expect better durability.

    Price inflated
I purchased two items at $4.99 each. When I received them, they were marked with store stickers at $1.98 each.

    TASTES LIKE 2x4 SCRAP
I purchased all of the smoker chip flavors. All of them except the hickory were worth it.

    Stick-o-rama
Despite all my efforts, everything I cook sticks to this pan, and I find it impossible to clean. I'm crazy about my Calphalon Commercial Nonstick pots and pans, but this one was quite a dissapointment. I may try the All-Clad nonstick square grill pan and see how that goes--I have a feeling it's worth the extra money.

    Eh...
Was a little disappointed with this pan. Neither the finish nor the performance live up to the Calphalon name. I own probably 10-15 separate calphalon pieces (Commercial Hard Anodized, Commercial Non Stick, Calphalon One, Triply) some made in the US, some in China, all of them leaps and bounds above this pan. I suppose it works well enough and Amazon is not asking too much for it but in all honesty you're probably better off getting a different grill pan or for the same price the 12" Calphalon Hard Anodized Everyday Pan.

I will disagree, however, with several users that complain about cleanup. If you read the instruction booklet that come with the pan, you'll not only understand that the pan isn't "non-stick" but also why, for this type of pan, you don't want non-stick. When browning and searing (meat in particular) Non stick has a tendecy (because you're cooking on plastic essentially) to steam the food rather than sear and brown it. Now that's not to say you can't brown in a non-stick (calphalon's commercial N/S is especially good in this regard) but that you will generally get better results and better tasting food if you use anodized aluminum for this type of cooking. Give the pan a quick deglaze after cooking and cleanup will be alot easier And you'll have a fantastic sauce base to work with...

Anyway I probably wouldn't buy this pan again due to its sub standard fit and finish, but for the occasional indoor grilling its not bad for the price...

    Grill a steak while it's 40 below
I love to bbq, but when it's 40 degrees below zero, I usually say "forget about it"! Not since I bought my new calphalon grill pan, it heats my steak evenly and quickly and adds those nice grill marks. I add just a little liquid smoke to give it the outdoors taste and that's a damn good steak! The pan cleans up pretty easy and looks great in the kitchen.

    Sorry Delonghi.....Not A Good Product!!
I did my homework and I thought I was buying a great table top indoor grill to cook chicken and steaks to replace a different brand that had just died on me. Well, I was very disappointed when I used it the first time and "tried" to grill pork chops. It took forever (much longer than the manual stated) and I had the temp setting at the highest. They finally did get done but were not very tasty and dried out because I had to cook them so long. My opinion is that because the grill is open on the bottom to the drip pan and the eating element is underneath....much of the heat goes down and not up to the food on top.
It was, however, easy to clean which was good because I packed it up and shipped it back the next day.
Sorry Delonghi, back to the drawing board.

Worst excuse for a grill anywhere
I have used a number of Foreman and Hamilton Beach contact grills. I bought this because I thought with the heat control I could sear then cook.

    WRONG>

This is the absolute worst grill on the market. It simply does not get nearly hot enough to sear or even cook on the highest setting...say 20 minutes for a rib eye. Ludicrous.

Look elsewhere...I am throwing this monstrosity away!

    Do Not Buy This Grill
Do not buy this grill. I tried to give it zero or negative stars, but the system would not allow that. The grill does not perform as described. It does not get hot enought to sear or brown the meat. I grilled a couple of pork steaks on the grill for over 30 minutes and they never got browned. Instead, there were light brown streaks where they contacted the grill and the rest of the meat just turned an unappetizing dirty gray color. Also, despite the length of time the steaks were on the grill, parts that were not in contact with the grill were not completely done. The manufacturer will undoubtedly say that a person should put the cover on the grill, but then the meat is being steamed rather than grilled and will not brown. And, I am not at all sure I will be able to return it, because I have used it and it was not shipped by Amazon, but by one of the marketplace merchants.

    Blender didn't work!
Never got the blender working, but the cigarette lighter worked fine.

    Biggest Waste
We bought this thinking it would be a lot of fun on our camping trip. Boy were we wrong! The first night it did not work at all. The second night I tried pushing the tip of the plug in a couple times and realized it was stuck, so after a little while it started to move a bit, and then it worked. The next problem came becuase the bottom of the base says you have to do one minute on and one minute off but the instruction booklet says something completely different. Either way after 15 minutes of cyclying on and off I had nothing but smaller peices of ice and a broken blender. Don't waste your 21.99 unless you just want to use the pitcher as an oversized shaker as we did!

Pitcher must be in right position to work.
Great item! Luckily, I read reviews before buying this at my local store which gave me patience. Several people complained that it never worked. By looking under the pitcher I could see the little ramp underneath that must be aligned with the gray switch on the right side on the top of the base. IT WORKS. Just be sure the pithcer handle is at the right like the picture above and you're in business! 12 volt DC coffee maker works great too.

    Useless
Got this as a gift and find it hard to operate and clean. Will going back to store tomorrow.

Fast cooking for 1 or 2 people
    - Cons: No thermostat, no on/off switch, some stickiness, heat distribution not perfect.

    - Pros: Easy to use, fairly easy to clean, somewhat thoughtful design, quick easy cooking.

Resembles an entry-level wafflemaker, only with grilling ridges instead of waffle divots. Is priced similarly. The similarities continue with the lack of an on/off switch, and lack of temp setting, and the "heating" light which goes on and off as it maintains temperature. Differences from a wafflemaker would be the slope concept (to let fat "drip off", and I think they have a patent on this concept), and the articulated lid which accomodates various thicknesses of foods.

Manufactured by Salton Industries, this could be good or bad depending on your experience/opinion with their products. I don't eat birds or mammals, but I still bought it because it cooks fish & veggie burgers great. I bought it after grilling some fozen fish with it at a friend's house, fish my friend's brother had caught, and it did a very good job. The grill ribs seem a bit [too] high, and get higher toward the front end; the newer ones have lower ribs. Still, the ribs go cook into the food and the rest of the heating surface contacts the food.

Would prefer a temp switch to avoid inconsistent cooking, also better heat distribution; have only used mine thrice, and as long as I leave it in there long enought, it's okay. Believe it or not, it's great for breadded fish filets (if flattening them a bit), veggie burgers, and frozen fish burgers (like salmon or mahi mahi). Sure beats babysitting it in the frying pan! No need for oil, either (though animal body fat is -really- what's unhealthy, since it's solid at body temperature, unlike natural plant oils and dairy). I think the lack of on/off switch is a negative safety factor, and is a stupid form of cost-saving, being the most inconvenient thing about the product, esp right after your food is cooked and it's hot (and possibly open) and you're trying to quickly reach behind to unplug it. Just like a wafflemaker.

Strangely enough, the included recipie ideas suggest cooking whole dishes on the thing, such as starting with onions, then adding other things like veggies and cooked noodles. I think that may be a bit of a stretch, kind of like microwaveable cakes in the 80s, but it's within the realm of conceivability. I like to toast my split buns in a toaster oven, so the lack of a "bun warmer" gives you a cost break, and if you toast them, you won't miss the feature (the "warmer" doesn't toast, so kinda gimmicky anyway, and probably interferes with lid operation).

Attractive enough to have around. (I got the cobalt blue version and it is a pleasing color.) Included spatula has cutouts to help you scrape off most of the sticky stuff which adheres to the cooking surface between the ribs and is useful. A subsequent wipedown is sufficient, though not the best non-stick surface I've seen.

Unless you're a hoggy, this is plenty for two people, and possibly more depending on what you're cooking. Quick due to cooking on both sides and less tending to food, quick cleanup too which increases overall convenience (and your willingness to prepare the food). There are competitors/imitators, some with temp control; most of those have lower/wider ribs, and again I think the "slope"/fat drain concept is patented. Part of the "high rib" reason on this model appears to be to "grab" the food to keep it from sliding down, as are the rib "teeth" at the front to keep it from sliding out entirely. I think this is overdone, as newer models' ribs seem shorter.

Amazon's shipping weight of 21 pounds is untrue (ridiculous, actually); this has to be some kind of error. Shipping charge to me in Calif. would have been seventeen dollars (!) if it weren't for Super Saver free shipping, so it was moot for me, but make sure for you.

Buying this grill to help you lose weight by getting mammal or fowl gristle to roll out is, frankly, stupid. Again, the problem with warm-blooded meat fat is that it's solid at BODY temperature (not even dairy fat is), which makes it unique among fats and much more dangerous. If you're concerned about health or avoiding fat, reduce/eliminate your meat intake and don't buy a meat griller. But if you want quicker, easier cooking of many common foods, this may be the the product for you.

    low btu
unit came as a mush waited for Christmas present. Too bad it came with the burner and regulator for a small pot. Took over 2 hours and 15 minutes to heat oil to 360 degrees. What a shame.
I will be returning all, as I do not trust this product. Also there was no customer support on weekends (when most people would be using this porduct.) Very unsatisfactory.

    Too small!!
First, we never received the injector or the thermometer. We cooked a 12.5 lb. turkey and barely had enough room. I feel it is too small, mainly too narrow. We do not have original package or I would return it.

    Disappointed
I gave this as a Christmas gift to my parents, they were very happy with it. However, I was disappointed since my parents had to buy a thermometer and injector that was suppose to be supplied with the package.

    Nice product, bad price
I got this set a year or two ago on sale at Home Depot for a clearance price of $5. Mostly, I use the tongs because they do the work of tongs and spatula thanks to the unique mini spatula shapes. The big spatula is fine, and the fork, but the tongs are most useful, so I usually skip the other two. It's a great value at a $5 price, but there's no way I'd pay $35, especially since I use mostly one tool. If I paid that much, I'd want some extras like basting brushes or a grill rack for vegetables or fish. Shop around.

Not what I expected, or worth the price
While Weber is a trustworthy name in grilling, I would definitely not recommend this tool set. The set appears to be very cheaply made - the handles are entirely wood, unsupported by any stainless steel in the actual handle. The stainless steel working end did not appear to be heavy duty, and where it connects to the wooden handle will be very difficult to clean. There definitely are significantly better tools on the market for a much better price. I gave this as a gift to my husband and was very dissapointed in the quality.

    Poor Quality
Very, very disappointing product. It's no stick, but only for the first use. After that the no stick surface begins to peel off. It was even worse after cleaning off the stuff that stuck to it! Overall not worth the money, I'm sure there are other comparable products that work much better.
