Pump dies during first useI'll see how the replacement unit works out the next time I do a turkey. Now I'm wondering how the battery versions I bought for gifts worked out in comparison.
The easy way to poor out the oil (after cool)*** Don't try to move hot oil *** Do turn off flames ***
Hot oil will quickly melt the plastic pump and the plastic will stick to the sides of the fryer and ruin your oil and machine.
Works with reservationI would agree with some of the other reviews that it seems to loose power after the first use. The thicker the oil, the harder a time it has. If you heat the oil before filtering, it works much better. Note that you don't want to get the oil too hot - perhaps nothing hotter than 100 degrees. I cracked the clear tube in my old two-battery one by running boiling water through it (requiring the purchase of this model).
If you can find the older version, I highly recommend it, but the three battery version is definately a step backwards.

Not what is said to be.

This is junkThey all sparked trying to plug them in and taking them out of the electric outlets also.
I went around my house and tryed other electric outlets, and had the Same problem!
Some of the plugs where sharp at the ends, and they didn't exactly fit the outlets very good!
This is made in China, and it sure shows it.
I would not recomened this to anyone.
I think its very dangerous, and its just Junk....
I saw this in the gold box and thought what a good price it was,and that it had the Cuisinart name, but not if its going to electrocute someone, or catch your house on fire, or short out your whole house.
Not a good buy at any price...
Also the inside is small, and looks like it would not fit a sandwich of any size very easaly.
I really would have liked to rate this a big fat 0 , this doesnt deserve any stars .
Shame on you Cuisnart for putting out such a shoddy, defective product.
