Great sheet set!
Excellent quality flannel sheets at a great price!Note that this set DOES include a pair of pillow cases. I bought a separate pair because the sheet-set description did not mention that pillow cases were included. Don't make my mistake unless you want extra pillow cases...
The king sheet set is very substantial -- it's a full load in our so-called "super capacity" Whirlpool washing machine.
The fitted sheet fits nicely on our 14" thick mattress -- the fit is not snug, but a little loose. If you have a thinner mattress, the fitted sheet may be oversized for you. I believe the package said the fitted sheet will fit a 16" mattress -- and I judge that to be an accurate representation.

Utility is the keyIt really doesn't make much sense to get a set that includes several of these smaller knives. This one alone has exceeded all expectations.
An ideal knife
My Favorite KnifeThe Wusthof Classic line is the more conservative counterpart to the Grand Prix line. The only difference, however, is the handle style. I personally prefer the Grand Prix, but this is an issue of personal preference. The balance and grip of these knives are as close to perfect as I have found. For those wondering what benefits a higher priced knife provides, one benefit is that the blade (or tang) is one piece all the way through the handle. This makes the blade much stronger, and less likely to snap.
The Wusthof 4 ½ inch utility knife is a great all-around knife. This is the knife I use for the majority of my small chopping work (when I don't use a Chef's knife).

- 6-inch cook's, 5-inch serrated, 4-1/2-inch utility, and 3-1/2-inch paring knives; 9-inch steel; 9-slot oak block
- Bonus pair of kitchen shears ($20 value)
- Blades formed of single piece of high-carbon stain-resistant steel
- Computer-ground, hand-honed blades for precision slicing, longer edge retention
- Synthetic three-riveted handles on knives

THESE ARE A GREAT SET OF KNIVES!My previous set of knives were a set of stamped Henckels (I didn't know any better) and I thought they were great compared to the hand-me-down knives my Mother past on to me (miscellaneous mismatched knives of all kinds). But then I started noticing the quality looking knives they were using on the cooking shows and decided to try one. I ordered a Santuko Granton Edge knife. It's a great knife but I don't use it as much as I thought I would. What I did learn by buying it though was the difference between stamped knives and good quality forged knives. I liked it so much I bought these and all I can say is WOW they are nice.
First of all they are sharp! They cut through meat like butter and the tomato knife is sharper than it looks (I was slowing cutting through a tomato and sliced a bit into my finger, ouch!) They feel like strong sharp quality knives in your hand and they look so classy sitting on my counter in the quality oak block they came in.
There are three extra slots to put future knife purchases in but you will not be able to put a bigger chefs knife in the block. The 6" chefs knife slot is the biggest(widest) slot in the block. I bought the 9" bread knife to go in the set and that fits perfectly. Anything as slim as the bread knife (but not any longer than 9") or slimmer would fit fine.
So, if you are looking for a GREAT buy on a QUALITY set of SHARP, CLASSY looking knives, buy these. You will not be disappointed:-)
Outstanding product.

Some of the best knives I've ever used, and...
Great Set; Not Single Piece Tang & HandleThe Wusthof Culinar line is an all stainless steel look, rather than a black handle. Although the picture and some descriptions want you to think this is a single piece knife, be advised that the hand is a separate piece of stainless steel molded onto the tang. I personally prefer the handle of the Grand Prix and Classic, because the grip is surer for me, but this is, to some extent, a matter of personal preference. This series "looks" more professional to some (like a Viking stove).
This set includes an 8 inch chef's knife, a 3 ½ inch paring knife, a 6 inch sandwich knife, 8 inch bread, a 5 inch salami, a 2 ¾ inch trimming knife, a sharpening steel, and an oak block
The 8 inch chef's knife is a great knife. Wusthof offers four sizes of chef's knives in the Classic version, 5, 6, 8 and 10 inch. For most home cooks, I think the 8 inch knife is the best choice. The 6 inch is a bit small for bigger jobs, but the 10 inch is too big for most jobs. While the 8 inch isn't perfect for all uses, if you are only buying one size chef's knife (and most people only buy one), this is the one I would recommend.
As for the 3 ½ inch paring knife, this knife falls into the category of overkill for me. Most cooks will get by just fine with the 4 ½ inch utility knife. There is really no notable difference in size for the vast majority of applications between the 3 ½ inch paring knife and the 4 ½ inch utility knife. I prefer the 4 ½ inch utility knife, but the 3 ½ inch paring knife will do the trick.
I have found very few uses for the 6 inch sandwich or 5 inch salami knives. I prefer the larger size of the chef's knife or the smaller 4 ½ inch utility knife. These knives are just the wrong width and length for most tasks, and falls into the overkill department, except when part of a set.
The 3 ¾ inch trimming knife, however, is a good length for small tasks, like trimming fat from cuts of meat.
The bread knife, is a great knife. Many people think tomatoes are the hardest food items to clearly cut. I think bread is much more difficult; but this knife makes the task seem easy. However, I prefer the 9 inch knife over the 8 inch included in this set.
When it comes to sharpening steels, I have found very little difference between Henckels and Wusthof. As long as you buy a high end steel, you really won't go wrong. Therefore, I shop for this item on price, and Henckels has a price advantage. However as the steel comes with the set, you won't go wrong with this steel.
This set is a good deal as far as price. However, keep in mind you really only get 7 knives. Adding the set of steak knives (which I consider a luxury, and not a necessity), will fill the remainder of the block.
A DEFINITE MUST FOR WEDDING GIFT REGISTRYThis is probably the only knife I know that's made of single piece construction! That means there's no shortcuts to making this knife, no ways in cheaping out to create this knife.
Made of pure 18/10 stainless steel and by one of the world's reputable German Knife Company you can't go wrong.

Where's the Beef ? & Pass the A-1 please!Rated #1 in Consumer reports magazine, well balanced, which makes cutting alot less of a chore. I would have liked to tried the Gourmet steak knife set first; because this was alot to pay for steak knives. I know this is a lifetime investment. A great looking blade design that caught my eye & I got the 4 piece Fillet Mignon classic set instead of the classic 6 piece set. Now when I eat a steak, it does not get sawed & smashed with a dull serrated knife. Now,where's the beef? & Pass the A-1 please!
Incredibly sharp
Wüsthof Classic 6-Piece Steak Knife SetThe edges are plain edged, honed by hand. These are NOT your STEAK HOUSE knives - no serrations. Your SLICING fine meat not disposing of a lost tourist in Texas!
Hand washing only, even with today's more sophisticated dishwashers with knife compartments preventing dinging and other damage to the blade, the high water heat and chemicals in the diswashing soap will ruin ANY knife. Think of the glass that you've had for years that you've run through the dish washer. Look closely and you'll see the glass is actually ETCHED from the detergent. And the old wood handled paring knives. Notice how they are duller and harder to sharpen? The dishwater temperature and chemicals from the detergent have damaged the steel. By the way, there is no SUPER steel that isn't known to all knife makers. Metallurgy is an exacting science, a formula to be followed, not magic with the Sorcerer and Mickey Mouse as his apprentice. Wusthof PROUDLY stamps the which metal their knives are made of right on the blade. It may be heard in a sales spiel from the college kid selling complete cutlery sets, that knives can be dishwasher cleaned. Nope.I don't put my saw blades, drill or router bits in the dishwasher either. They are precision edged tools just like your knives.
I'm very happy with this purchase everytime they come out for a meal. They feel comfortable, familiar like an extension of your hand, as all the Wusthof Classic cutlery do.
Good weight, balance and excellent hand honed edge. This knife is the one my wife reaches for first for her needs in the kitchen. Never argue with a woman with a knife in her hand. Especially a Wusthof!!

Slice french bread so thin you can read through it!
Love Wustof!
Great Bread KnifeThe Wusthof Grand Prix line is a more modern design than the Classic series, with a simple black handle. The balance and grip of these knives are as close to perfect as I have found. For those wondering what benefits a higher priced knife provides, one benefit is that the blade (or tang) is one piece all the way through the handle. This makes the blade much stronger, and less likely to snap.
This particular model, the bread knife, is a great knife. Many people think tomatoes are the hardest food items to clearly cut. I think bread is much more difficult; but this knife makes the task seem easy.
I highly recommend the Wusthof 9" bread knife.
