I found these knives to be very strong and great for all the cooking needs. Excellent value for the excellent quality of knives.

I have owned the 14 piece Farberware Professional Fine Edge Knife Set for about 4 years now. They were my first home purchase after graduating college. (Yes, I owned those crappy $20 sets before!) Let me tell you, it was a huge improvement! These knives actually CUT raw meats and chicken with nice slices without tearing it apart!

This set comes with 14 pieces:
8-inch chef's knife
8-inch slicing knife
6 3/4-inch fillet knife
5-inch boning/utility knife
3-inch paring knife
six (6) 4 1/4-inch steak knives
9-inch sharpening steel
8-inch kitchen shears
hardwood storage block

The knives are heavy duty and strong. They are not flimsy like other knives in this price range. Actually, this is probably the best Farberware set on the market in terms of quality and durability. They are definitely on par with the Henckels International Fine Edge Pro set which retails for $200 and are currently listed on Amazon/Macys/RobinsonsMay for about $100. ("Henckels International" is the more economical brand, not to be confused with the "Zwilling JA Henckels" brand which is the premium brand. Same manufacturer, different grades of metal and quality. You can tell the difference by the look of the logo...the cheaper "International" brand has the one tribal guy on the logo, whereas the "Zwilling" brand has twin tribal guys on the logo.)

Keep in mind that with all "fine edge" knives, you will need to sharpen and hone fairly frequently. (Or at least more frequently than a lot more expensive forged sets.) I do it once every few months. But I also do a lot of cutting with them, so the frequency will depend on how often you use them for cutting tough foods. I cook a lot of meats, including cutting up my own chicken, so that dulls the knives rather quickly. If all you cut are veggies, then your knives won't dull as quickly.

They are dishwasher safe, but I don't recommend it because the dishwasher will dull all knives. However, occasionally I toss them in the dishwasher and haven't had any problems.

If you cook often and don't want to pay $200 for a decent knives, this set is for you.

What more could you ask for? The ideal gift for the Fiestaware fanatic. I have one and I love it. The color is much richer than [Amazon.com's] site shows, for some reason the pictures of Fiestaware on this site are washed out. Don't let this deter you from getting some, it's very solid and the colors are brilliant.

Finally, something all of my friends will like. I have so many friends who are always giving me really nice gifts at the holidays, my birthdays, and other times too. This is a nifty clock that cleans up, uses batteries, and comes in a variety of colors. Here is a gift I feel good about for those special friends.

This bowl is shallow enough to serve from and deep enough to really load it up. I use mine constantly, and didn't think I would when I bought it. We reach for this ahead of all the other bowls and platters I own. I love my Fiestaware, you can't go wrong with these durable and colorful dishes.

What a great piece of Fiestaware! The 12" X 9" Fiestaware Oval Serving Bowl looks shallow, but I you'll be amazed at its capacity. I served 1.5 lbs of steamed clams in about 2 cups of broth in this dish and it was perfect. It adds a different shape to the dinner table, with its fairly narrow oval shape - a fantastic departure from round bowls and square casseroles. This dish is a fantastic choice if you enjoy serving family-style dinners.

Of course, the quality is unsurpassed with the Fiestaware name. This is serveware that is big family and kid friendly, yet elegant. Whether you're serving family-style spaghetti, or clams in saffron-tomato broth for a romantic New Year's dinner for two, this piece is versatile to accomodate both.

I now own 3 of these platters. (One is the halloween one!) I use them constantly for entertaining. The platter is large enough to put a pizza on, or stack deserts, just about anything. It is easy to clean, as is mose fiesta, fits in my dishwasher, and looks great!

I purchased this piece in the now retired pearl gray color, and intended on using it as wall art in my kitchen. ( I use the retired colors and pieces as decoration so as not to ruin them. ) I then had a party where I needed an extra large tray, and the 15in platter served not only the food but the purpose as well. It held not only the fruit selections but the veggies and dips for both as well! When not in use as I said...consider using it for a wall hanging instead of a picture.....its colorful and it goes with the rest of the dishes in the kitchen.

Whatever problems there were before seem to be fixed, because I did indeed get a set of four plates. Color's beautiful! Packed very well so nothing broke during shipment.

I work in an assisted living facility and we use Fiestaware in the Alzheimer's area. I didn't know these were salad plates until I was looking at all of the Fiestaware. We have always referred to these plates as dessert plates. They are the perfect size for a piece of pie! They are also durable. I have dropped a few of these plates and none have them have broken. Thank goodness!! These plates are very durable, too. The style of plate is very classy and simple, which is great because you don't have to search and search and search to find flatware and glassware to match it!
