This is a large sized stone with a good non slip base. The honing surface is reasonably thick, and very uniform. A minute of honing will turn a factory edge into a razor edge. No gimmicks, no bull. You see the results of your effort right now, and quickly learn to fine tune your technique. Unless you have very badly abused blades, this stone and a good steel will be all you need to keep an envious edge on your knives.

I bought this stone to detail the edge of the new set of Calphalon forged kitchen knives that I recently purchased. I have used oriental water stones in the past, and this stone is as good as any I have used. With just a few strokes, it will turn a Calphalon, Henckles, or Wusthof into a Gillette. With this stone and a good steel, your knives will last far beyond your years.

The Grilla Grill Tools are by far the best. They are very well constructed and made to last. They are heavy-duty and comfortable to use. For the price, you can't beat it - I would buy nothing else.

Use this set all the time. I love to grill and this is the first set I've found in this price range that is built to last with the proper care. Stylish too...

I thought this ironing board was a little costly, but I liked the design so I bought it. I have never been more satisfied with an ironing board in my life. The ergodynamic design is great not only for you, but also your clothes. Make sure to get a really good non-stick iron to go along with it.

I have always been a fan of German engineering and was suprised that they surpass others in Ironing board manufacturing also. God job Hailo! This is not only a unique design for an ironing board, but the construction is very stable. Its Ergonomic and great to look at even! I love the little animal paw pattern on the cloth. No matter what happens, an ironing board will teetor and sway, but with this one its hardly noticeable. It has a knob on one leg where you can adjust the board upto 5 degrees. That was very helpful. The board does not have as good a grip on carpet as it does on hard flooring which makes sense as the rubber on the base grips better. But its barely noticeable. I give this product 5 stars for the design, construction, durability and strength. You wont see this product on chain store shelves. Its the BMW of ironing boards.

I received this mixer last week and let me tell you it's very handy. My daughter loved the fact that it rests on the bowl and I love the fact that you can rest it on the countertop once you are done with it. The pieces are easy to snap on and off. It has tremendous power for the price, this is a great mixer.

I love these new measuring spoons! They are functional and obviously good looking. I love the ring they are on to keep them from becoming seperated in the drawer. Slightly more difficult to clean after measuring any greasy ingredients since they are not dishwasher safe. But well worth the extra effort.

These measuring spoons are beautiful! I asked my mom for them for Christmas 2001 and they are prettier than the picture. To top it off, they measure accurately. You'll hand them down to future generations who will get the impression that all things made at the turn of the century were well made. Mine are kept out on display so everyone can see them.

I have had one of these for over a year now and it has been a great addition to my kitchen equipment.

It is definitely worth the money for people who are hardcore into artisanal bread baking at home. It provides the true crust that you have been striving for more effectively than the usual baking stone or tile that have been used in home ovens.

The hearthkit is VERY easy to set up - just be sure that you have measured correctly to get the right size for your oven. I recommend going to the company website to be sure how to measure and order correctly.

Be aware that the hearthkit takes a while to preheat so if you are hoping for very quick pre-heat and cooking you will be very disappointed. Using this thing requires some pre-planning. However, the results for breads, cookies and roasted meats is fantastic.

You CANNOT roast a large turkey with the hearthkit. The turkey is usually too big and you have to take the thing out. I usually roast a 17+ lb. bird so you may be successful with a smaller bird. Roasts chicken beautifully and standing rib roasts do cause envy and awe at the table.

There is a thermometer and also a rack for the hearthkit. The thermometer gives you an accurate reading of your hearthkit's temp not the oven. Think of the hearthkit as an oven within an oven. The rack is for people baking more than one tray of items.

The advantages: artisinal level of baking; great roasting; precise control of your oven environment; easy to clean and put together

Disadvantages: takes a while to pre-heat; has to be taken apart if you are roasting big items like turkey; takes alot of oven space.

It is an expensive item but if you are really into home baking this is it.

I recently received this product as a gift. At first, I did not see the need for owning this Hearth Kit. Subsequently, I put it in my oven. The first meal I prepared was a whole chicken. It was unbelieveable. The chicken was so moist the meat fell off the bone. Now, I can not imagine cooking without it. I recommend this product for anyone that loves to cook or bake, whether you're a novice or a chef.

They are very absorbant as the advertisement says and I like the bright red and white color. The fabric is high quality and washes well without the tearing apart like some other kitchen towels. Its a great bargain.

They're nice and soft, and they do the job; plus they look great in the kitchen.

Got this for Christmas this year and I love it!! The pieces are beautiful and very, very shiny! All of the pieces are nicely balanced and feel good in your hand, not heavy and not too light. The hostess set is great- can't believe I lived this long without one.

The other thing I like about this set is that it is contemporary looking without being oddly shaped. The spoons are normal looking, not weird and oblong or overly round. The forks are shaped slightly smaller than traditional styles, which is something I don't think can be seen in the photos. The tines are also set closer together, and makes the fork look elegant. I like them smaller and close-set, it's more interesting than most flatware.

A great set! Can't wait to order a second one!!

This flatware set is an incredible value. The pieces are very sturdy. The classic, contemporary design is appropriate for everday use and formal dining. The hostess set is very nice - good sizes on all the serving spoons.

This knife along w/the matching 7" 5-star meat fork are my weapons of choice for carving leg of lamb, prime rib, ham, veal, turkey, etc...at various carving stations at my job. I love the 5-star line & have most pieces from it as well as 2 of this knife. I'd recomend trying the 4-star & pro-s line out as well before deciding on this line(same blades, different handles). I'd definately replace if lost/stolen. After using proper tools there's no way you can go back to cheap knives. I'd love to see a 12" version of this knife w/a wider blade.

The scalloped edge of this knife makes all the difference in the world. After you successfully roast that aromatic stuffed beef tenderloin or prime rib roast, the last thing you want is to have those slices 'ripped' from the roast. These scouped out marks along the knife break the vacuum that causes both the roast and the slice you are working on from sticking and moving with the knife. I purchased these as a gift for a friend, and She absolutely loves them. They are sharp, easy to use, and easy to maintain. Good cutlery leaves quite an impression on people, great cutlery stuns people when you entertain. This is the top of the line set from Henkels, one of the best cutlery makers in the world. I highly recommend this to *any* and everyone who every entertains with knives...

These knives are... well worth cost. For a 5 inch knife ofthis weight it's a fair price. If you have the 3 inch paring knife,you know the handle is the same full size.
