The best of my Le Creuset saucepans.
I got my first Le Creuset cookware in 1978. It was my college graduation week, & I was relaxing on the lawn reading the Sunday Boston Globe. I saw an ad for a Le Creuset starter set (French oven + 2 covered saucepans + skillet) for a very low price, so I decided to go for it since I was about to be out of the dorm living on my own. That purchase turned out to be one of my best investments ever, as I still use all the pieces today. I now have 3 French ovens, 5 covered saucepans, 3 skillets, 1 oval au gratin, 1 multi 2-in-1 pan with nonstick omelette cover, 1 rectangular baking pan, & 1 cheese fondue set, all in flame. These cast iron utensils are virtually indestructible, except for a few minor dings in the outer enamel. They cook very evenly, given the cast iron, making me a possibly better than average cook (they're one of my unfair advantages). My only problem with the cookware is the heavy weight, but that comes with the territory with cast iron utensils. I guess I'll have to get someone else to lift the pots when I'm old & decrepit. I know they'll outlive me!

My most recent saucepan acquisition is the 1 1/2-qt Windsor, & it has become my favorite. It does everything the other Le Creuset cast iron saucepans do. However, the tall sloping sides make it more difficult to spill, especially when stirring sauces. It is definitely my best saucepan for making sauces & gravies. I also prefer it for making rice & cooked cereals such as grits, cream of wheat, & oatmeal. I only wish it came in more sizes.

Don't be put off by the high price of Le Creuset pots & pans. In the long run, they're a bargain because of their long life. I intend to pass mine down to my sons. Bon appetit!

wouldn't recommend it for noodles...but....
I just received this pan as an engagement gift and already love it. In fact, in the two days i've been home from vacation (where i got the gift) i've used it twice! the first time i decided to boil chuka soba (curly japenese noodles, 5ounces)-- it was effective, because the water boiled pretty quickly and stayed a good temperature...but i let a couple noodles get stuck to the bottom and that was nervewracking because i had to scrub a little more than i wanted to get them off my brand new pot. last night i made some caramel sauce and this is where this pan really showed it's potential... the even heat allowed the sauce to be creamy and consistent--very yummy. this cleaned up like a dream.

i also have the red heart casserole and have been enjoying it for about a year. the quality is great and the colors are SO beautiful- you just can't see it on the web...if i didn't share a kitchen i'd keep the dishes displayed. my next two acquisitions from this line will hopefully be the french oven and the stockpot. great products!

GREAT PAN BUT RECEIVED DEFECTIVE & DIRTY
I LOVE THE LE CREUSET WINDSOR PAN, I ALREADY OWN ONE AND WANTED ANOTHER. SINCE THIS PARTICULAR PAN IS HTF, I WAS EXCITED ABOUT FINDING IT ON AMAZON. HOWEVER WHEN I RECEIVED IT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE PACKAGING WAS EXTREMELY DIRTY, (NOT THE FIRST TIME I RECEIVED VERY DIRTY PACKAGING FROM AMAZON) DON'T THEY OWN A DUSTER? I WOULD LIKE TO RE-ORDER THE SAME PAN, HOWEVER I AM AFRAID THE RESULTS WILL BE THE SAME, BUT THE PRODUCT ITSELF IS SUPERB!

great pieces
Le Creuset is the best! I recommend just getting a few pieces as a start and go from there.....you will love them!

This is an Awesome Pan!
This is one of my very favorite pans! I don't usually write reviews of the products that I use. However, I think that Le Creuset products in general are great and that this pan in particular is useful. It is one of the only pans that I have ever found that will let me roast meat in the oven and then move directly onto the stovetop to make sauces and gravy from the drippings. It cooks very evenly and cleans up very well. I would highly recommend this product!

A great rectangular baker!
I got my first Le Creuset cookware in 1978. It was my college graduation week, & I was relaxing on the lawn reading the Sunday Boston Globe. I use the large rectangular baker a lot. I often bake or roast large chickens, turkeys, or roasts in it, most often in a cooking bag with potatoes, onions, carrots, & celery, which makes a full meal & quick cleanup. It's also good for large quantities of Mexican food such as enchiladas or tamales. Lasagnas do well in it. It's just the thing for large Lutheran casseroles, too. It goes directly from the oven to the table or buffet for serving, given its attractiveness. It is heavy, heavy, heavy, as are all Le Creuset pieces; it is actually my heaviest piece, so you may need to buff up before getting it.

Don't be put off by the high price of Le Creuset pots & pans. In the long run, they're a bargain because of their long life. I intend to pass mine down to my sons. Bon appetit!

Great Pan Great Price
This pan is well worth the money. The interior looks and feels like a seasoned cast iron skillet, although it is actually satin enamel. No pre-treatment is needed (just wash with soapy water and dry prior to first use). The blue exterior is attractive and matches other other blue Le Creuset cookware. The pan goes from stove to oven because of the metal handle. Because it is heavy, the helper handle design works well. This pan does a great job on frittata and paella. Clean up is very easy, I use a soft dish brush for cleaning. I would definitely recommend this pan.

Great for Frying
The pan fry's very well. It is HUGE and HEAVY. Food cooks on cast iron (not enamel covered cast iron). The pan conducts heat so well that I can put my burner on very low--which saves a little $$ on energy cost. The cast iron isn't smooth. Kinda tears up my plastic cooking utensils. Still would give it 5 stars.

Best Pot Ever
Got this two months ago from this site and am thrilled with it. Made the best pan roasted chicken with vegetables we have ever had. Beef stew and pot roast were both fork tender. This takes the place of my crockpot- meat doesn't shrink as much, is more intact, and easier to slice without breaking up. I brown meat on the stovetop, then finish cooking in the over at 275 degrees for about 4-5 hours while I am out running errands on the weekend. What a delightful treat when we come back home, tired and hungry. Only negative is the weight, but only if you have difficulty lifting heavy things. I haven't bought the saucepans for that reason- lifting them by one handle is not easy. But with a two handled roasting pan, this is not so much of an issue.

le creuset cookware
I bought the round french a bit over a year ago, and it has been one of the best investments I have made in the kitchen. I use it at least a couple of times a week. The enameled cast iron not only heats quickly and evenly, it retains heat very well. I have found the piece to be extremely versatile, going to oven to stovetop to broiler. great for cooking casseroles, braised meats, soups and stews. I was very worried when I first used it and I accidentally burned something in the pot, and thought it was ruined for sure...but found it was very easy to clean. I much prefer it over my "non stick" cookware. Expensive, but the quality is unparalleled

Perfect size & just "feel good"
Our Le Creuset ramekins are so cool! My husband loves to cook Asian foods, which invariably have many sauces & other toppings, and - and these ramekins are the perfect size for condiments for the two of us. They're a beautiful color and they just "feel good". Nice & smooth & easy to clean, too.

Great size!!
These are a terrific item. They are safe in the microwave, oven or fridge. You can prepare a nice size serving of pudding in these. Usually the size of these type items are too small to satisfy one's appetite! These are perfect!! The flame color is very lovely, as well!!

Le Creuset cookware
I have been using Le Creuset cooking products for over twenty years with impressive results. The cookware itself is cast iron lined in enamel for casseroles or teflon for skillets. I have been looking forward to using their bakeware which I have just ordered, the 12 inch rectangular dish and the 9 inch oval dish made from high quality well fired ceramics.
Le Creuset is simply a joy to cook with.

Great Casserole dish
This is my favorite casserole dish, because it looks beautiful on the table but is absolutely functional throughout the cooking process. The dish is not enameled cast iron like the pots, but ceramic, which means it does not offer the same kind of heat absorption as cast iron, but does allow you to put it in the microwave, etc. (although don't put it on the stovetop!).

Le Creuset = Quality
I own many items from the Le Creuset stoneware collection, and I must say that they are all of superb quality. This square pan is perfect for baking and serving my favorite side dishes and desserts. I have been impressed over and over again at how non-stick the surface of this bakeware is. Everything I have put into Le Creuset bakeware - brownies, casseroles, refried beans, etc. - has come clean with zero elbow grease. In fact, the dishwasher usually gets them sparkling clean without my help! I highly recommend this product as well as everything else from this line.

Rustic Baking Dish
Le Creuset keeps expanding their Poterie collection of high-quality oven-to-serveware, and this 9-inch square pan is a new addition. I'm a longtime collector of Le Creuset pots and pans, and 'flame' is my favorite color for them. I love the Poterie line: dishes, ramekins, pitcher, and the crock for utensils. The colors are great, and they match the pots and pans perfectly. I use this square pan for baking and serving Mexican casseroles, such as bean burritos and chiles rellenos, and for warm desserts, such as bread pudding, peach cobbler, apple pan dowdy, and for blueberry and cheese blintzes. These Poterie dishes coordinate especially well with Fiestaware dishes and serveware, and they make colorful additions to festive buffets. They are freezer-safe, microwave-safe, ovenproof up to 450 degrees, and can go in the automatic dishwasher, too.
