Excellent Product
This pot will pay for itself in butter freshnessThis pot uses water as a "lid" to keep oxygen away from butter that is left out of the refrigerator. You do have to keep the "bell" filled but this is not a tough job. Now I can keep butter blocks frozen, thawing only enough for the pot (about two sticks) -- and it will keep fresh for at least a week, not a BIT of rancidity creeping in anywhere. You can tell by the smell and color it's totally fresh.
The red color is beautiful, a true scarlet, almost Chinese red. The workmanship is nice, it looks handmade. It's heavier than expected, a real pottery feel. It would make an unusual and appreciated gift for anyone who cooks or enjoys soft butter.

These are fantastic!
PASTA PERFECT AND SALAD SUPREMEWhatever your preference in pasta - spaghetti, linguini, ravioli, all are well served (pun intended) with these bowls.
Last but not least the bowls are almost indestructible - microwave them, pop in the dishwasher, keep warm in the oven, or even run them under the broiler. After repeated use the color retains its original bright hue.

- Oval 16-inch serving platter
- Heavy, durable stoneware made in Marcigny, France since 1850
- Cutting food on platter won't harm hard, lead-free glaze
- Bright white, with smooth rim
- Oven-, microwave-, broiler-, dishwasher-safe

The hardest working platter in my kitchen...After years of hard use (banging around our busy kitchen and lots of unceremonious trips to and from the dishwasher), you would expect to see at least a little nick or some slight scar. But no. The platter looks as lovely as the day I brought it home from Paris. Possibly its heft contributes to its marvelous durability; it is a better platter for serving from than for passing around. That understood, it will make a beautiful and functional contribution to many kitchens.

IndestructableTakes a long time to heat up, but heats evenly and keeps things warm for hours after being removed from the oven. Doesn't become too hot to handle with bare hands when microwaved for short periods of time.
