My sister owns a set of this flatware and liked it so much that she bought a set in July 1996 for my birthday. In Dec 1999 we bought a set for my Mom as a Christmas gift. In Feb 2000 we all went together to buy my sister-in-law a set for her birthday. Obviously, we think this flatware is awesome! The design is classic, not too frilly and the quality of the flatware can be felt in the balance and weight of each piece. All of us use our silverware as our everyday-ware, run them through the dishwasher and none of us have a piece that doesn't look as good as the day we received it. Oneida has a 25-year warranty on this flatware and I really believe mine will last that long --- unless someone in my family steals-the-silver to add to their own set!

I purchased my first set of American Harmony in 1999 (I think it was called Arbor at that time). We are a family of 4 who uses it daily which includes at least one run of the dishwasher a day. My flatware still looks and feels beautiful! I've been so happy with it that I decided to add to my original collection and use it for more formal gatherings in the dining room.

The product exceeded my expectations. The fabulous shine of the stainless steel flatware could be compared to actual silverware. I chose the Oneida set because I liked the American Harmony design -- I never expected that the quality of the product would be my ultimate satisfaction. It is obvious the workmanship put into this product will result in many years of usage. I purchased the 53 piece set and received the 20 piece set as a bonus. I also took advantage of the free shipping -- What a bargain! What a steal!

Can't beat this. Looks very elegant, yet very ambient and easy on the eyes. Perfect for anything from Christmas Dinner with family to lunch with the kids. Can't beat the price.

If you are looking for something very nice, but for a great deal how can you beat this! A very elegant piece yet also very ambiant visually and goes with just about any dinner sitting. Formal occasions to Lunch with the kids this is a great set at a great price. Great Deal Amazon, thanks a lot!

(1) This is definitely 'regular-size' flatware, NOT oversize/ European. We have several very old dish sets and actually needed the regular size so it wouldn't overwhelm them.

(2) Satin handle is a very soft gentle matte finish, wonderful contrast with the upper-handle polished raised design. Incredibly, this pattern goes with all our tableware, from the delicate hand-painted 'Chinese Tree' English china to a wildly-colored Villeroy & Boch to plain white Bauhaus-style stoneware.

(3) Although hub & I prefer 18/10 to 18/8 simply because it's even more durable, and although we would've liked a slightly heavier 'feel' and slightly thicker look -- believe me, Satin Accent is TOUGH STUFF. Since we rarely use teaspoons, I thought I'd 'sacrifice' one. Tried to bend by hand holding bowl and handle. Nope. Finally put the bowl under one foot and pulled up on the handle. Bent some but hurt my hand more than it hurt the spoon.

(4) If you prefer 18/10, and if you do want the oversize Euro style, and if you need it to go with many varied tableware patterns just like Satin Accent does -- right here at Amazon.com, try either Oneida Cadence or Oneida Satin Garnet. One of them would have been our second choice if Satin Accent hadn't been as great as it is for us.

I registered for this item one year ago for my wedding from somewhere else. I only received one 4 place setting set. I was in need of another set and I found it here on Amazon.com. What a great value! It was less here for a 8 place setting set than my original 4 place setting set was. It also came with serving spoons ... Congrats to Amazon.com! This is great everyday flatware. They hold up well and are nice enough to use for all occasions. They are not flimsy and do not bend like cheap flatware. Definitely a great value!

I received this set of Flatware as a wedding gift three years ago, and I love it as much now as I did when I first saw it. The "satin" look hasn't faded, or rubbed. I receive compliments on my set every time I have guests for a meal.

Oneida has made another great flatware set. This set is well made and looks nice on the table I would highly recommend this set to anyone.

Purchased this Oneida flatware and couldn't be more pleased! It has a luxurious, heavy feel and large proportioned pieces. The caddy tray is nicer than I expected and I'm storing the flatware in it. I recommend this to anyone looking for a truly delightful, large scaled, set of stainless! It shines!

We've been looking to replace our stainless for a few years now, patiently waiting for the right set that balanced style, features, durability and value. It was tough as most of the sets we liked were very expensive - $20+ per place setting. We thought about a Mikasa set that is made in Korea, but we were not sold on the style and they were made of 18/8 steel; a lesser grade of stainless.

We came across this set of Oneida at a local department store for $150 for the 12 piece setting. We agreed that it was the set we were looking for but we came home to see if it was available at amazon.com.

We were delighted to find it at 1/3 lower cost - what a great buy! They arrived today and we could not be happier. 18/10 (same as the $20+ sets) and the same weight as well.

GREAT FIND - you'll love them.

I got this set 3 years ago at Macy's, and I love it! I get so many compliments when I have guests for dinner. It's very sturdy, not like those cheapo brands. My boyfriend lost 6 of my forks, so I need to purchase this set as a replacement.

She said it perfectly. This is a sleek but hefty weight service. Very euro-modern, with a lovely deep shine. Substantial. Elegant. I have had mine for two years, and they are beautiful still. I am ordering more.

Very sleek, unusual design. Fits nicely in the hand. The pieces have a solid feel, especially the knives, yet are not at all heavy. Even though the pieces are longer than most flatware, the bowls of the spoons and the prong parts of the forks are on the small side, which is a plus for younger family members. I particularly like the one-piece design, without any joints or grooves where water could leak into the knives or where dirt could get trapped. They seem to be withstanding water spots and retaining their shine nicely.

I bought this as part of a wedding present for a couple friends. In addition I bought them a shaker and ice bucket with tongs. They loved it! It instantly made their bar complete and professional. It's a definite must-have and a great price for all you get. My whole wedding present set set me back around $50, which is wonderful for all of the stuff they got!

This is a great gift for anyone who is just starting out. A perfect gift for someone on their 21st birthday.

And they still look like new. Now that I have a dishwasher and I want more I know where to get them.

Awesome! I bought this set about 5 years ago & it's held up very well, still looks brand new. It goes with practically any type of table you could ever set, casual to formal. It's a classic design that won't ever go out of style, at least in my book. I highly recommend it.

I love this pattern. I did notice that the new silverware I just recently purchased from here felt lighter in the hand than my old stuff that I had gotten approx. 20 years ago, but it's not super noticeable. The pattern is exactly the same and very pretty. I love it. Even being 20 years old you would never guess it. We must've thrown some of the spoons out since I was missing 4 of them and decided to just get a whole new set for 4 people. Amazon shipped it right away and in perfect condition. I highly recommend the pattern as it really looks nice and like I said, is fancy enough for company but just right for everyday too!

I have had this Rose pattern for the last 14 years. I was searching for new flatwear when I came across tha exact pattern that I already have. I couldn't believe I can add to mine. (Somehow after 14 years and two children later some pieces are missing) I use this everyday and put it in the dishwasher. It is still very nice. I just ordered two more sets and am sure that I will enjoy them another 14 years. Thank you so much!

We purchased this flatware for my Mother for Christmas and she LOVED it! When she said she wanted flatware with a rose pattern, my first thought was AMAZON and I was very pleased!

As other reviewers have noted, the pattern is rather large and sturdy in its construction. Great for a larger set of dishes. The pattern is also rather sleek.

Some of the cons that I see are:

1. The brushed part of the pattern scratches a bit, which leaves a new-looking shiny line in between a slightly scratched surface.

2. Watermarks are left on the brushed metal sometimes when they come out of the dishwasher, but not on the shiny part.

3. The manufacturing of this product was inconsistent.

#3 explained:

The pattern has slight grooves between the shiny line and matte sides to make the difference stand out. However, the set that I initially received had some pieces with the groove, some with none at all, making a smooth transition from the shiny portion to the matted portion. Even some individual pieces had one side with the correct pattern and the other side with the defect.

I investigated using the 25 year warranty from Oneida to replace the defective pieces or to just replace the set through Amazon. Oneida requires you to deal with all the shipping charges and details of replacing pieces, whereas Amazon makes the process quite simple, so I used Amazon's exchange service. The next set that I got from them was much better, though still not perfect in the manufacture of the pieces. I am not sure if this particular pattern was difficult for Oneida, but I do know that I would be reluctant to try to get new pieces from them due to this problem with the manufacturing.

I looked and looked for months trying to decide on new flatware and finally decided to give this set a try. Amazon's price and the bonus 24-piece set I got for free made it hard to turn down.

When I first opened these, my immediate reaction was , "Whoa, these are HUGE!" I wasn't sure about the continental size, it made our old stuff look like toys... my teenage son, in his usual cynical manner, commented that these must have been designed for "ham-fisted eaters."

It's now a couple of weeks later, and I can say that we've all adapted to the size, and I'm growing to enjoy this set more and more. It suits the large Dansk dishes we have, and really does look nice on the table. We always use a dishwasher and they come out perfectly shiny and spotless, as long as they haven't been "over-crowded" with too many pieces crammed into the basket. When we had a particularly large load, a few had waterspots, but they immediately went away when I handwashed and dried them.

If you're looking for exceptionally heavy flatware to accompany large dinnerware like Dansk or Fiesta, this set is a great option. The extra teaspoons are wonderful, too, if you're like us and use them constantly for making coffee and tea.

This flatware is very high quality. The pieces are heavy weight and solid with a satin finish that is even and smooth. They are truly oversized, European scale pieces: the salad forks in this set were as big as the dinner forks in my old Oneida set. I expected something more delicate and was a bit surprised by their size and weight but have decided to keep them because the quality is obvious and the pieces have a nice, substantial feel in your hand.

The design is simple and attractive. It is versatile and would compliment all but the most geometric tableware patterns. The price is outstanding for the set. The weight and quality were so much greater than the sets I had seen in stores for the same price that I was truly surprised when I unpacked the box. If I had not known the price of this flatware I would have guessed it to be far more expensive than it is.

very good value, but the end of the handles are more squarish than photo shows. If you use spoon to dig out hard ice cream, the corner can poke into your hand. Not enough to cut the skin, but a little uncomfortable. You soon learn to avoid holding them this way. Otherwise, just as billed. The corners don't bother my wife, and we are generally happy, but be aware of difference from photo.

Large & heavy utensils - look exactly like picture - very impressive table settings - so many pieces that now my holiday table will match - well worth the money

My wife and I looked everywhere for quality Oneida flatware and it was spendy everywhere we looked, especially the 18/10 quality. This is a great price for some great flatware. It's heavy and super-high quality and it's a great buy for what you are getting. Above all of this, it looks nice as well.
