Looks fabulous, but not efficient.Seems, it is designed to be used like a personal gadget. Definitely not for host of a table (even of 2 or 3). Meant to be operated by one hand. A button on the top needs to be pressed for grinding. But most of the times, the button does not get released back to its position.
It has been a month, I bought it. But still experimenting on it to get the trick.

Was it made in China or Indonesia?Although the 24 pc set and the 53 pc set could be said to match, they do not actually match at all. The 24 pc set was made in China and the satin finish on this set is rougher, the ends of the spoons are a bit broader, and the stampings or designs are "lighter" or less distinguishable than the 53 pc set made in Indonesia. The 53 pc set has a better finish and seem more uniform in their stampings.
All of the peices are suppose to be made out of 18/10 stainless or better. 18/10 Stainless steel should have very little magnetic attraction, as it has a very small amount of steel vs. chromium and other metals, which makes it stainless or rust proof. With a weak magnet, all of the pieces seem to pass the magnetic test. But using a stonger, 25 lb magnet, you find that some of the peices do become attracted to the magnet, while the serving set has absolutely no attraction. Compared to other flatwae sets that I have purchased, this set does seem less magnetic, but I wonder why some pcs. seem to differ from the others.
Over-all, I am satisfied with the quality, but wish that all of the peices of one pattern were manufactured at just one place, so the afore-mention finish and size discrepancies would not occur.
I would recommend that if you want to enlarge upon the 53 pc set that you buy another 53 pc set. Hopefully, this would have all of the individual pcs. looking exactly the same. It is a pity that the consumer has to worry about a very avoidable quality control problem like this. I wrote Oneida about the inconsistencies and have heard nothing back, but it has only been a week.
I like the simplicity and contrast of this pattern. But I was expecting all of the pcs. to be exactly the same. I can pick out the China set from the Indonesia set just by looking at the satin finish. Neither finish is ugly, but I prefer the smoother more polished finish of the Indonesia set, so would recommend the 53 pc. as the better value. The serving set is especially nice and handy, with 2 oversized spoons, a huge fork, and what we call an olive or relish spoon with its rippled spoon bowl.
I really would not recommend the 24 pc. set.

Defective design. At first glance I was pleased. Great colors, nice feel to the metal...I removed them from the box, washed them and threw the box away. Big mistake. THe first piece broke the day after Christmas. 3 months later I have about 4 pieces left of the original 40 pieces. The problem (as a previous poster has mentioned) is that the handles fill with water when washed then the plastic cracks and falls off. Save yourself some $$, this flatware is a complete waste.
Good but...Well, I've had them for a bit now, and the plastic handles have started to *crack*. I have not used them in the dishwasher or done anything harsh, but there are now spidery cracks were the little rivets are in the plastic.

Nice... if they had better QA, perhaps. The sides of the tines of both forks are unfinished/unpolished. Rough casting marks are uniform in the base of the tines and extend half way up the tines on some pieces, while extending nearly to the tips of others. The tips of the tines are simply clipped off square and are not polished.
The serrated portion of the knives came encrusted with a hard black compound. I was able to scrape this off with my fingernail. The gap between the two piece knife's handle and blade contained a similar, yet softer, black compound that I have been unable to completely remove due to the size fo the gap between the pieces.
The placement of the satin finish of the handles is not uniform across all pieces. On some, the satin finish transitions to the polised finish before the "bead", some at the bead, some after the bead. On some pieces part of the bead has the satin finish, and part of it is polished.
Issues described above existed on all four place settings ordered. After receiving the sets from Amazon and noticing the problems, I examined about half a dozen place settings at a Macy's store and all had the same problems as well.
This has several advantages over other brands: Le Creuset would be perfect, except the handles are wood, a hygiene issue to me; KitchenAid and Oxo have fat handles that don't fit well in my utensil holder; many other brands had a lower heat-resistance rating (I think this was 500 degrees). The degree of stiffness is nice, and it's a bit less expensive than some. Also, the head is removable for better cleaning in the dishwasher--at first I didn't bother, but after discovering how much gunk was growing inside what seemed like a tight fit, I now consider this a key feature. Finally, it has remained stiff and straight without warping, which is a problem I have had in the past.
However, it's not perfect. Though stain "resistant," the blue has taken on a noticable red tinge from tomato sauce. Also, there are a couple little divots along the edge, presumably where it rested against the side of a pan and melted (which it isn't supposed to do at that temperature).
Until I find my ideal, I recommend this... but I'm going to keep looking.
