Trash Reviews

It's a really nice trash can, but good luck finding any kind of bag to fit it. I bought mine at the container store, and as soon as I can, probably not until Saturday, due to its location, I am taking it back. The bags the sold me with it don't fit at all.

I wish I had read the reviews before buying! I saw this in Target and thought it wold be sturdy and free my hands up while disposing of garbage - WELL - it is very hard to get the bag out without tearing it and the rod that makes the lid go up and down is constantly popping out and I have to take the rubber ring off to pull out the garbage. This can was not cheap by any means! I am very disappointed - Rubbermaid here I come!

It is a nice looking can but I agree with all of the other reviewers who say this can is nothing but trouble! We had this can for a week and then the lid hinge broke. A month later the foot peddle broke. When you try to take your garbage out the seal around the top pops off and it won't hold your garbage bag up, then you have to struggle to get the bag out. What a pain! Definitely not worth the money!!

My husband and I saw this can and thought it was a little pricey, but we'd wanted a stainless steel can. We should've kept looking! Not only do the bags rip EVERYTIME you try to take the bag out (I have to have my daughter help me and we joke that it's like delivering a baby!) and the ring doesn't hold the bag up, but about a month after we got it, the foot pedal broke! Now, after reading the other reviews, I guess we have a broken lid hinge to look forward to! I wish that we'd have read the reviews before buying this piece of garbage! We already got rid of the box and receipt, so I guess it's going in the trash. I had expected more from Target...I hope they start checking the merchandise that they sell a little more! I'd have liked to have given this zero stars, but I can't. Instead, I'll give you this piece of advice: DO NOT BUY THIS CAN!!!

It is a very flimsy product. The mechanism that opens and closes the lids broke very quickly and rendered the can basically useless. It looks like a great product because it fits nicely in the corner, but it is nothing more than a piece of junk!

I am completely dissapointed with this trashcan - it broke very soon after we bought it. First the hinge broke, making the one lid segment inoperable, then the whole hinge on one side broke. Considering its high price, this is inexcusable. Do not buy!

looks pretty on the outside but the function depends on two plastic clips on the bottom of the can. I returned it once already and it broke again within a week.

I had a similar one that did not last too long. The mechanism was flimsy it broke easily. I do not expect the quality to be good at the price I bought it.

At least when a book or CD is disappointing, you can perform the psychologically fulfilling act of "filing it in the round file" but when a garbage can itself fails to deliver, well, where do you throw it?

Here's the real-life anecdote that inspired this review: I opened my Amazon shipment with glee, overjoyed at the prospect of never having to throw my kitchen byproducts into a leaky paper bag stashed under the sink anymore. Imagine! A lid that flips up with a quick depression of the foot! Prepared with a wadded up piece of paper to christen my brand-new, shiny garbage can, I stepped on the lever and the can fell on its side in seeming imitation to R2-D2 when he gets shot by jawas in Star Wars.

I soon discovered that the garbage can had to have sufficient ballast in it before it became operable, turning the disposal of household waste into a Catch-22. How was I supposed to fill the garbage can to the point where it was heavy enough not to fall over when I stepped on the lever, if the act of filling it to that point was impossible because it kept falling over?

When I throw away my garbage, I don't want to be confronted by such conundrums. I just want a reliable place to stash coffee grounds and corn dog sticks. Sadly, this can didn't do the job, so I'm returning it. Garbage in, garbage out.
