Good but not great
The beard trimmer part of this set I would actually give 4 stars. I have always liked the Norelco beard trimmers and this one is no exception. With 9 settings you can get pretty much any length you need.

The other two items in the set i may give 2 stars to so they drag down the rating overall. The d-finer is like a torture device because it does not always cut the hair and will sometimes yank at it instead (owch). However, it does work at giving nice defined lines in your facial hair so that is nice. The nose hair trimmer is a "run of the mill" one and does an OK job. It does not trim very close at all so if you want a tight trime then this nose hair trimmer is not for you.

Good, but there are cheaper ways to do this.
This works great. I actually have no problems with this heart rate monitor. I just used a friends heart rate monitor and it worked just as good for 1/3 the price.

Poor Manual
I received this item in record time unfortunately it was defective. Amazon.com responded extremely well and is sending me a replacement item. While I cannot comment specifically on the monitor I can review the manual. The manual that comes with the device is poor. Just the bare bones information. There is a chest strap that you wear and the documentation on this strap is poor. Not having any experience with these devices I would have liked to had better directions on wear the best place to position the strap, what parts of the strap are the actual sensors, etc.

Does this REALLY work?
I have heard that these work very well and have seen them advertised on TV; though this product is not for everyone. If you are thinking about buying this you might want to go get a proffesional facial, and find out if you getting this product is recommended.

Cheap, but sharp
It works well, but if you take off the plastic attachments to get a really close trim (the Don Johnson look), the metal is pretty sharp and seems to stick to the whiskers as it passes over them, which makes it uncomfortable.

Average performance but adequate
This iron heats up reasonably fast, and curls hair reasonably well. I find I have to hold it quite long to get a curl, perhaps because it doesn't heat particularly hot. For occasional use, this is a good device.

Maybe my hair wasn't the right type for this iron.
I think that this iron would work a lot better on thicker hair. My hair is very straight and weightless, and comes down to my shoulders. The bar used to secure the hair around the barrel does not shut tight enough to hold my hair. I can't get the fuller curls I would like, but if my hair was longer I believe I'd have more of a chance. I would not recommend buying this item if you have thin hair, unless you're using it to flip your ends out/under. The straighter would not work on many types of hair, and since it is not completely built to be a straighter, the design easily gets tangled in your hair.

Almost Close Shave
I purchased these clippers on Sept. 29, 2003. I need to shave close without irritating my skin or causing bumps. These clippers gave me a close enough shave to look clean cut.
I wanted a closer shave but this is a nice new look without the skin irritation.

Really, Really Bad
I wish I could give this zero stars. It is the least effective straightener I have ever used. I was intrigued by the "steam" functions, but I don't really think they do anything. Plus, it is impossible to get your hair in between the darn plates. I have fine and kind of thing hair, and even I found it frustrating to use. They do not open wide enough. It's not, as one 5 star (!!!???) reviewer claims, that the point is not to put a lot of hair into the straightener. The problem is that since the plates open parallel to each other (instead of in a hinge-like manner) and not very wide, it is hard to slip the actual hair into the space. Do NOT buy this product.
Another conair straightener is very good: Conair Straight Styles, Professional Straightening Iron CS15RCS. My roomate had one, and I liked it so much I bought one, too.

For my hair, it's not
For years I've looked for a product that would make my very-wavy-prone-to-frizziness-coarse hair poker straight. After trying this product I still find that nothing beats a blower dryer and a large round brush.

If your hair is like mine, moisture and humidity are the biggest "offenders," rendering a sleek style totally frizzy in about 10 minutes flat. So logic would tell you that a straightening tool that uses steam, would be completely useless, right? Well, in my case it was. And the only reason I purchased the straightener was because at that price I felt it was worth a shot.

I suppose this straightener would work really well on finer, easier-to-manage hair. It heats up quickly, and since there are no exposed metal parts (like with the more traditional tools), the chances of accidentally burning yourself are rather low.

The "teeth" on this straightener are somewhat of a nuisance, however. The handles don't open wide enough, so unless you're working with thin strands of hair at a time, you're likely to experience some tangling and pulling, not to mention a very time-consuming straightening process. But if you have lots of time to dedicate to your hair, can spare the 20 bucks, and have "well behaved" locks, this may be the straightener for you.

I live by it
I don't always straighten my hair, but when I do I have always found this a rather easy way to do it. It heats up rather quickly so you can prep your hair rather easily while waiting for it to warm up. True, it doesn't open very wide and you can't get huge strips of hair in there at a time, but that is the point. If you've ever had your hair straightened with an iron at a salon, you'll notice that they always use smaller sections of hair at a time. It works the best that way heating and straightening the entire section, instead of putting too much hair in and only straightening the outer parts of the big mass of hair.

The added steam feature is definitly a plus. It gives your hair an added bit of shine, and at the same time prevents you from totally toasting your hair. Though of course you should not take this to mean that straightening your hair should be product free. Frizz ease and clones similiar to it work pretty well in moderate amounts on dry hair. Just get it coated lightly on the section before you start straightening it and not only will it help to protect that hair but it will also help it stay straighter once done. Afterwords a light mist of some hair spray might be adviseable if you have hair that tends to have a mind of its own, like mine. I usually don't use hair spray for distaste to the way it feels in my hair, and that is not a big problem though as at most I jsut get a slight wave in a few spots and it's barely an issue in comparison to it going all the way back to curly.

If you tend to have the time on your hair to straighten it, this is definitly the product for you. If not, and you're looking for some quick fix, I wouldn't reccomend it, but then again straightening hair has never been something quick to be accopmlished, so I doubt you'll find anything that will get it done faster.
