great treat for yourself or someone you love!
I purchased this spa, and I love this! I didn't purchase it for treatment of arthritis, but for my very dry skin. I wash my hands often, and as a result, they often crack and bleed. This treatment is just what the doctor ordered. You dip your hands several times, and then put the plastic liners and cotton mitts on. I would suggest putting the mitts in the microwave for a minute or so, so that they are warm, and this helps the wax stay warmer as well. The liners were easy to put on, the opening is generous, and they worked for my hands and my feet well. I will caution you though: This is wax, and it is very warm. After you dip a few times it isn't quite so, but it is warmer than I like my bath water. You also need to plan ahead.... the wax block takes six hours to melt. The reason this only received four stars instead of five is because it didn't have a built in timer to remedy this. Instead, I went to the store and picked up a plug in timer. I set it for about six hours before I get home from work, and then my prepping to use this is taken care of. The wax also is very moistuizing, and I have to admit both my hands and feet felt very relaxed when I was done. I picked this one over the others because it included everything you needed from the mitts to the liners. I will definitely get my moneys worth out of it!

Just like professional paraffins
I get my nails done professionally on a bi-weekly basis. A paraffin treatment where I go costs $7.00. Others I know of charge $5.00. That's per treatment! Now I can have a daily treatment at home if I like.

I always loved to have this done when I got my nails done in the winter. My hands are always dry and chapped, even if I wear gloves all the time. Not only is this wonderfully warm and soothing...and good for the skin, it is good for the nails and cuticles as well.

One thing I do that is not in the directions is something they do in the salon I go to. I slather my hands with moisturizer, and I put a special cream on my nails and cuticles BEFORE treatment. I rub it all in really well before dipping my hands into the wax.

Yes, it takes a long time to heat up, but the directions I received stated that clearly. I just turn it on before I leave for work an use it when I get home.

This product has already paid for itself considering what I was spending at my manicurist!

The best gift out there!
This Paraffin spa comes with everything you need to protect your hands and feet from winter's dry weather at less than half the price of the competition.

If you are new to paraffin treatments, they are simple and luxurious. After the wax melts (which unfortunately takes six hours due to the generous six pounds (!) of paraffin provided), you dip your hands or feet (clean them first) in and out of the paraffin about six times, building up multiple layers of warm, moisturizing wax. You then put your hands or feet into one of the 60 plastic liners provided, then into a cloth insulation pouch (also provided) and enjoy 15-20 minutes or so of healing warmth.

After the treatment is over, you have a wax "glove" that comes off easily and you can recycle back into the paraffin spa or into the trash.

The treatments are addictive, and this was the perfect gift for my wife, who says it is actually healing her chronically chapped hands!
I also love it for warming my chronically cold extremities.

Unfortunately, this model is so darn popular that it sells out quickly, so if you find one, buy it!

Works great and expensive
Usually last about 4 months. I couldn't find any generic brands that fit. They are expensive. I bought from Amazon since it is a few bucks less comparing to Target. Sonicare should lower their price or redesign the head so it only need a replacement brush instead of the whole thing.

Sonicare is riding the wave of the future
The biggest complaint I hear from people about electric tootbrushes is that the replacement heads are too expensive. Come now, that was the type of thinking that would have killed the Industrial Revolution!

For anyone who really cares about dental hygeine or even just the way they look to other people, you can't not use an electric toothbrush anymore. I laughed at the idea at first, but once I began using one I will never be able to use a regular toothbrush again without feeling like my mouth isn't clean. When you go to the dentist--what type of toothbrush does he/she use on you? Electric--for a reason, because it cleans better.

The marginally higher cost of replacing the heads rather than buying an entirely new disposable toothbrush is insignificant when you actually feel as clean as you can when you use an electric brush. Personal dental care has evolved to the next step, and you don't want to be caught be the last person using a slide ruler because you were too frugal to purchase the more expensive but more effective calculator.

Your teeth (and anyone who comes in contact with them) will thank you.

Cleanest mouth in town
I thought I brushed pretty good before but the Sonic Care puts me to shame.

hair
This product works really well on leg hair, but it does get painful since hair is being pulled out. I like it because it will work with only a few days worth of hair growth. When I use it on my arms, some of the hair seems to break off instead of being pulled out so that part grows back rather quickly. I can see areas on my legs where hair doesn't grow any more and it's thanks to this epilator. The annoying thing about epilators is they can only do a small section at a time while with waxing you get to remove larger strips at one go. It draws out the pain. All in all I would recommend this product. It does a good job removing hair, but seems to work better on thick hair than fine hair.

Works well - just get over the intitial shock...
I have used this for over 2 years. It removes each hair at the root. I only really have to use it 1x weekly or longer in between. The hair grows in softer and thinner.
I recommend it to someone who does waxing today. It is much less expensive that that and you are already used to the initial shock/pain.
I can do some private areas, arm pits, & legs.
It is a good investment even if it only saves you from 2 or 3 whole leg and bikini waxings!

Love my little braun epil
So yes, it does smart -- especially the first couple of times you do it. However, it doesn't hurt anymore, just feels like a tingly prickly sensation -- like after your foot falls asleep. The instruction manual recommends using the silk-epil after bathing, and I have found that to be helpful. You are just very relaxed after a hot bath or shower, and then voila! -- your shaving is done for the week!

You should use a loofah or something similar too -- it helps guard against ingrown hairs.

Aaahhhh....Almost as good as having my boyfriend rub my feet
... It is simply marvelous. The different settings allow you to customize your massage. And the heat....the Heat feature is beautiful. My office is an iceberg and this helps to kee pme warm. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is the noise. It's not loud, but I work with a room full of computer programmers, and they like total silence here. I would highly recommend this gift to all my friends and family!...

A relaxing addition to the road trip
I bought this as a christmas gift for my husband, who has complained of discomfort while driving and while at the office. while I can't make his job easier or make the road trips go faster, I thought that this back massager might help.

as a *Back Masseur*, you'll find it disatisfying. The pad vibrates and pulses, but can't do what a skillful fingers can. As far as being a device that aids in comfort and relaxation, this is certainly effective. the heat option we first considered extraneous, but then we used it on a chilly evening and changed our opinions.

the pad is well thought out for safety, too. it will automatically turn off if you haven't changed any of the options in the previous fifteen minutes.

some of the cycle and pulse options I found to be worthless--they are more distracting than relaxing.

but, all in all, it's a great pad. certainly does what I hoped it would--brings a little comfort to the road trips and office days.

if you're looking for an actual massage device, we've been using our "HoMedics PA-100 Therapist Select Percussion Action Massager"--a hand held device--and it does a pretty good job of loosening up tight muscles.

still, nothing beats a good masseur.

Great Stress Reliever at Home or Work!
I had purchased this same model at Wal-Mart.com this past July for my son...and at a higher price than what Amazon is selling it for! Grr!
Now, I am purchasing yet another here at Amazon for my husband, who just has to have one too!
This massager has some powerful motors inside and targets those tense, sore areas like the backs of the thighs, lower back and shoulders.
Both husband and son are police officers, a high stress occupation, so I thought these massagers would help them while in their patrol cars as well as at home.
The massagers do fit well on vehicle bucket seats and stay in place, are easy to keep clean, and both my guys claim it has provided them with welcome relief both on and off the road.
I think this product would be ideal for anyone who spends a lot of time driving..bus driver, trucker, cop, etc. for relieving stress, relaxing at red lights as well as for home use in their favorite chair. Amazon's price makes it a bargain too!

Very nice
This is a very handy massager and worth the price. If you're like me, you've probably got a couple of hand-held ones as well, and it's just so much more convenient to sit back and do nothing instead of tying yourself into contortions. Understand that the massage units in the seat are simply vibrators, nothing more, but that's standard for anything less than ten times this price. The massage units give good coverage and the hand-held control is simple and easy to use with enough cord that you can use it comfortably. The pad itself seems sturdy and fits well in most of my chairs and in my car. There is also a pressure sensor that automatically deactivates the heat for safety if the unit is not in use (being sat on).

The heat never quite gets up as warm as I'd like as quick as I'd like, and there are parts of your back that will want some more attention just because of where the massagers are located in the unit. Still, this is a fine item and a better investment, it seems to me, than some hand-held massager that costs just as much.

My dentist stands by this product.
Just went to the dentist today, she noted considerable improvement from use of my sonicare. However, she said to be sure to change the brush head every six months. She said that even though they may look fine, they are not as effective.

Sonicare Tooth Brush
I love my new tooth brush. My teeth have never felt cleaner. My gums use to bleed. Now that I use my Sonicare tooth brush they don't bleed any more.

G R E A T innnovation
After going through 3 Brauns, I decideed to try the Sonicare brush system. Not being an avid flosser, I hate getting admonished by my dental hygenist for not flossing enough. Since using this item, she tells me "you're doing a much better job of homecare".
I highly recommend this item to anyone who wants cleaner healthier teeth and gums or anyone who want's to pull the wool over their dental hygenists' eyes.

Better Than Shaving
I have used this product for the past two years and it has been working satisfactorily. It does break hair sometimes so they do grow back sooner than a week but it is much better than shaving which irritates my skin a lot. Under-arms results are much better than on the legs (where the hair breaks more often.) It works better after a shower and some exfoliation when all the ingrown hair are out and skin is soft.
Over all easy to clean and durable.
I have the model which is not rechargeable (works only with the cord.) I recommend that model becuase rechargeables usually lose power after sometime requiring you to replace the battery.

Not your mother's epilator
I had one of those coil-type epilators back in the eighties, which was a torture device, to put it simply. I gave up on it after a few months and went back to shaving.

Fast forward a couple of decades, to when the Remington EP1000 shows up in my gold box. I was a little nervous about ordering it, given my past experience, but was won over by the positive reviews. Wow, am I glad I did! This thing causes, oh, a little mild discomfort, but nothing worse than that. It's certainly less painful than waxing. The design is such that it can't grab more than two or three hairs at a time; you're never going to be pulling out great tufts all at once, like my old inquisition-style coil did.

Even better, you can use the EP1000 on your face. Warning to the younger women out there: After you pass 40, you'll learn about chin hairs. 'Nuff said.

I've been using the EP1000 a couple of times a week for over a month now, and my legs are smooth and silky, my chin is, er, youthful, and I'm not cringing in pain! Bravo to these second-generation epilators; I'll never go back to the razor now.

Smooth and Silky EP1000 is the best yet
After using the epilator for several weeks, I still have smooth legs. I have also used this great item on my face and neck. Being a fair-skinned female that has fought heavy facial hair for twenty years,it is great not to tweeze or shave every day.It is NOT painfree; it can deliver a sharp, quick bite(after all it is pulling stiff, wirey hair out by the root)but not bad most of the time, especially on the legs and face. Have had little trouble with ingrown hairs like with some products.Well worth the cost and effort of using.

Great shave but . . .
I upgraded to this razor from another brand which I felt was too rough on my face. This razor gives a nice smooth and quiet shave. The lotion dispenser works well.
My two issues with the razor are:
•Portability - The recharge holster is a modern looking gadget which looks cool but is too bulky for light traveling. In addition it needs a flat surface to sit on making it difficult to recharge at the nearest outlet to your suitcase in a hotel room.
•Detached trimmer - My biggest disappointment with the razor is that the trimmer is a separate attachment that requires you to remove the shave blades and push in a different top. I prefer the all-in-one units with the flip-up trimmer. When I'm shaving (either in shower, bathroom sink, or car on the way to work) I don't really want to fumble with different attachments just to trim the side burns.
Overall, nice shave but a bit clumsy on the usability. For me it's not worth the upgrade cost - I will probably return this.

Excellent Wet/Dry Shaver for All
The Norelco Advantage Shaver is the best electric shaver I used to date. I myself have sensitive skin so I tend break out around my neck from standard shavers and electric shavers. The "Advantage" to this shaver is that is has a built in Gel or Lotion to help smooth out your shave, along with great cutting "Lift and Cut" blades. Also you can use it with water too. With the Lotion it acts as a nice smooth shaving surface keeping your skin protected. The Lotion acts as a moisturizer making you skin feel soft and shaver burn free. Cleaning is simple with just a flip of the shaver lid. You can then rinse it out with warm water and then your done. Charging is done with a neet stand and the shaver lasts up to 45 minutes. The unit includes a snap on side burn trimmer. The shaver itself feels like a solid piece with excellent construction and not that "Cheap Plastic" feel to it. Extra items in the kit are 10 free packs of Shaving gel and lotion, a carry case, a brush, and a good instruction manual. I recommend reading the warrenty information too. It is good for 2 years for most of your service problems. So for those of you not sure of getting an electric, your money will be well spent on this shaver, especially people with sensitive skin. They do make lower models too (under a ($$$)) whichare also the same unit with less features but they other the same benifits of a close, soft and comfortable shave.

Get it.
It's as close as a blade. Maybe closer. I didn't use too much of the goo, and it gave me razor burn. I never get razor burn. I think from now on I'm gonna use a whole lot of the goo. That'll be about a week from now. Maybe.

Flawed but I wouldn't be without it
I've been using this for about 3 months now on legs, underarms, & bikini area, and I will NEVER go back to shaving, depilatories, or at-home waxing, except perhaps shaving very occasionally. What works for me is to use it once a week, more if I'm swimming a lot. The hairs have become very fine and when I keep up with it once a week very sparse, too, so even if I let it go for 2 or 3 weeks, which I did recently, the hair wasn't that noticeable, and I never had any stubble. I also feel little or no discomfort, believe it or not, except in the underarm and ankle area.
Two big problems though: (1) Ingrown hairs. At first I thought the Emjoi was missing a lot of hairs -- I'd go over an area and see a bunch of hairs still lying there. In fact, I was thinking about seeing if I could get a refund. Whatever angle I went over them with, they were still there. (Same problem I had with waxing, by the way.) It turns out these were lightly ingrown hairs, growing under a very thin layer of skin I guess. LOTS of them, too. Some ingrown hairs look like bumps. Rubbing down vigorously with a DRY loofah helps somewhat, but it's still a problem. I found shaving the area helps (after using the EMjoi), then tweezing out stray ones, and over the three months they've gradually decreased in number. It's a hassle, but worth it for me because I swim a lot, and shaving is way too irritating. Plus, like I say, they've decreased a great deal, and I love never having stubble.
2) As others have mentioned, the curvature of the Emjoi makes it difficult to get at certain hairs, namely under my arms, one part of my shins, and, most annoyingly, certain parts of the bikini area, which is where I really hate to shave. I do need to make numerous passes, trying different angles, and some little spots it just can't reach.

But I love it. For me, waxing left many more hairs than the Emjoi does, was MUCH more painful, and the hair had to be much longer. The EMjoi really does take out very short, very fine hairs. Only shaving is more effective, but leaves me irritated for days in the bikini area, and the regrowth really shows if I don't keep up with it every day. Perhaps when it dies I'll look into the Braun that others have recommended, but the Emjoi's fine.

Love it !!
I love it and it works great! Sometimes you have to go over the same spot twice, but other than that it's very effective. I used to have a Braun epilator, but it hurt. My emjoi barely hurts, but I only use it on legs and armpits.

You MUST buy this!
I read about this in a magazine, and the Amazon reviews were great, so I put it on my wish list. And I must say, I'm so glad I did!

In a word, AWESOME! I love it! It works exactly as described - the gold discs massage your skin while removing the hair, virtually eliminating the pain other hair removal systems can cause. (Granted, you will sense the hair being removed. It is, after all, taking it out at the root. But it doesn't hurt.) It removes hair from essentially any area of the body, and you really can use it the day after shaving.

I used it on my legs, underarms, bikini area, fingers, toes...heck, I wanted to wake up my little brother and take off all of his hair too! (Luckily for him, I didn't.) Two things - it's a bit noisy, so be prepared for that, but you shouldn't be nervous or associate that with its level of gentleness. And I've found it works best if you use an up and down motion instead of the small circles recommended in the manual.

I used to shave every day, which was time-consuming and annoying. I tried waxing, but it was messy and never really got all the hair off -- not to mention living with icky stubble for the hair to grow long enough to re-wax. But no more! I can now go hair-free for weeks. This Emjoi is the best present I've ever gotten!
