i wouldn't take one of these for free at this point
in case my title doesn't give you a strong enough impression, let me explain:
i hate this product. i hate this company b/c of this product and b/c of a horrible hair buzzer i bought of theirs that yanked more hair out than it cut, but i'll stick to this product in this rant.
when i first bought it i loved the attachments. the eyebrow trimmer, the ear and nose hair clipper, etc, all great... while they worked. the main problems i had were:
1) the plastic beard length guide broke almost immediately. i didnt particularly care since i bought it more for the eyebrow and nose trimmer, and more to shape my beard than to trim it.
2) it got dull so fast i'm not even sure it was *ever* sharp.
3) it stopped charging after a couple weeks. it appears to me the contacts didnt connect btwn the shaver and the base so it wouldnt charge, but i couldnt figure out any way to make them connect, and i'm a pretty inventive guy.

in summary: garbage garbage garbage garbage garbage. if you really feel like giving this company money, just send them a check and save yourself the aggravation.

The best
For trimming those hard to reach areas, this item is probably the best I have ever used. It has a long battery life for those really overgrown areas. This puppy won't let you down. Hands down the best trimmer in the western hemisphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terribly useful
Bought one of these recently and just love it. Works fabulously as a bikini line trimmer, since many of the other trimmers can be just too large for the job or have difficult cords to negotiate. This is just the right size - and it is multi-functional!

There are identical products out there for less.
Hm, you can get the exact same thing sold under another name for less than 1/3 what they are currently selling it here for at major retailers like wal-mart and bed bath and beyond and many other places including catalogs. In fact, I used a 20% off bed bath & beyond coupon & got it even cheaper. It's called "Finishing Touch". It's the same thing down to the little eyebrow attachment and little brush. The only difference appears to be the coloring scheme, but the main body is still a brushed aluminum color.

I like mine, but I'm glad I paid as little as I did. This is a unique product which should not be unique, and I expect more trimmers like this to come on the market. It's not terribly well-made, but it does do the job. It's much safer, easier, and more comfortable than a blade. It doesn't get as close as a blade, but it does get as close as you can expect a trimmer to, and that's *closer* than the trimmer parts of more expensive electric shavers. It's a closeness somewhere between a blade and the trimmer part of electric razors, if you've ever used those.

It does use a AAA battery, and use a fresh one. It's not loud, but it does have kind of a cheap sound when it goes. Going against the grain of the hair helps a lot, as does slowing down; it's not for huge areas. The 'penlike' shape of it helps you do a good job in difficult sensitive areas and folds in the body, especially where you don't have a good view or easy reach and might otherwise hurt yourself.

These things are increasingly popular as people for men and women enjoy a different intimate look and feel. I'm a guy and I like it and use it for myself just as much as my girlfriend does for herself. They are now marketing an incarnation of this gizmo to men, making the color gray and black to seem macho and not girly, and including an expanded and confusing male-oriented "accessory kit", but even those are being sold for less than half of what this is being sold for on national commercials.

This is also helpful medically. If you are constantly using medical tape or sticky bandages, such as people using silicone patch scar therapy, or circumcised men participating in non-surgical restoration using medical tape (as I am; do an internet search on it), this thing is like a godsend, and, yes, had I not been able to get it for the price I did, I would have paid more for it, knowing what I know now.

Good for light facial hair, better for appearance than feel
I bought this product mainly for use on my light upper lip hair, and I am pretty pleased with how it works. It takes the hair off fairly quickly and thoroughly, although it does leave a tiny bit of stubble that you can feel if you rub your finger over the area. It's not really visible though (for light colored hair...I imagine darker hair would be more visible), unless you look extremely close. It is painless, definitely an improvement over using a harsh depilatory cream on the upper lip, although it does not come out as smooth feeling. It's easy enough that you could use it every day if you need to. I tried it with the comb attachment on my eyebrows, but it didn't have any effect, I guess my eyebrows are not the type that it is intended for. I agree with another reviewer that it is kind of expensive for what it does and I wish there were replacement blades available. The warranty is for one year and I envision that the product will probably stop being effective after 1 year and 1 day, but c'est la vie. I'm pretty happy with it.

A little pricy for what it is, but works great.
Yes, it does leave a tiny, tiny bit of stubble behind but if it is just peach fuzz then it's no big deal. For darker, more coarse hair it probably would not be satisfactory. I think this is a great little gadget for use on the face. It is a quick and painless way to keep unwanted facial hair at bay.

ear hair expert
I bought this Conair unit for the car (!)-(yup!) because I am a wreck in the mornings, and often forget to use my "old reliable" Panasonic one at home after shaving!...Moral of this story: this Conair thing ain't even worth the cheap price. It is loud, and doesn't cut close. Like giving your ear hairs a crew cut.

OK for the price
I received this for free and tried it out. It does the job just OK. Noisy.

not bad for the price!
I can see people complaining about this trimmer if they were paying a big price, but c'mon! It does a decent job and the noise isn't any louder than your average vibrator! (joke) Go spend a ton more or have it done professionally for alot more, but don't complain when you're not paying alot. You get what you pay for....

Panasonic Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer
Don't let the name Panasonic fool you. This is a cheap toy. Mine got slower and slower, fresh batteries made little difference. It didn't even last a year. Spend a little more and get a better one.
E.L.

This thing does not work
It does make noise, but I could not find any cut hairs. Even when I tried to make it cut a specific hair it did not work. In the end I had to get the scissors and tweezer out.

This is the second one I've bought after 5 years.
I don't know why two of the other reviewers had problems, this little gizmo has worked great for me for the past 5 years when I bought it at Wal-Mart. Now they don't carry them and I want a replacement. BTW, I bought another kind (flat shaver style) and the thing is too clumsy to use (cut myself twice). This works great, at least on me.

Please don't buy this!
I bought this trimmer two years ago. It's not that it doesn't work but it's just a pain in the neck. The on/off switch keeps falling off. Sometimes it just makes too much noise but hardly trims, and it consumes batteries too fast. I bought another "famous" brand name trimmer. I won't mention the name, so that you won't feel I'm trying to undermine this product by promoting another one. But please, don't buy this product, unless you like to have a bad nose hair day!

Effective, cost-efficient, (unintentionally) disposable
As a trimmer, the NE-3 functions beautifully: after a year of biweekly use I have never once felt the discomfort of an unpleasantly pulled hair. However, as a device the NE-3 is not particularly sturdy: after a year's use, and maybe most the life of the battery, the on-off switch ceased to function. For a while I could get it to run by pressing the on/off switch into the trimmer case, but now even that's stopped working.

If you're willing to pay $8 for a razor that will likely break after a year's use then this is an outstanding razor to get; if you want one that will last you, then--like me--begin to look elsewhere.

Very Accurate Trimming
I have owned 13 trimmers and this is by far the best trimmer on the market. Usually when I trim my nose or ears, the hair grows back after several days, but the NE-3 will last two weeks!Ergonomically speaking, it is especially well designed and light weight. I would prefer that it was available in designer colors, but don't let that stop you from buying it.

Great idea, lousy product
The idea of a roll-on hot wax applicator is really great, especially the convenience of heating the wax by simply plugging it in. The lousy thing is, the wax gets kinda sticky and clumpy instead of hot and runny, ready to spread on the stubble and top with the strip before cool and rip ALL the hair out with a heartfelt holler, the way hot waxing should be. This is more like that washable wax or gel stuff, you might like it it if that worked for you.

too little for too much
The concept is great. I am an aesthetician and I really like the no mess and it works. However the cartridge is very small it is not enough for a full leg waxing. It is not economical. If you use two cartridges for waxing it's costing you almost as much like you go to a salon. To find replacement cartridge is very hard and expensive.Overall it is a good idea but needs lots of impruvements.

Love It!
At last a hair removal system that works! I've never written a review before, but I had to counter the unfounded negative feedback this product has gotten. Of course it is going to hurt some to rip out your leg hair, but if you give this product more than one chance, you'll find that it gets better, i.e., less painful. (Either my legs got used to it or my hair didn't give up as much of a fight.) Any waxing is going to hurt, but the benefit is totally HAIR FREE LEGS!!! The positive definitely outweighs the negative in this case.

If you are leaving hair behind, then you aren't using the waxer correctly. Case closed. To get the best results, you have to leave it plugged in the whole time you are using it, lay it down on its side as the wax in the cartridge gets lower so the wax gets evenly heated, and use firm, even pressure when applying the wax. Apply the strip IMMEDIATELY to the wax, smooth down well in the direction of hair growth, and rip away paper against the direction of hair growth. If you are a slow poke about it and let the wax get too cool, I agree, your results won't be as good because, duh, this is a HOT WAX process.

As to the amount of wax in a cartidge, I don't know how much you all are trying to use on a leg, but I get an entire leg out of one cartidge. Even a cartidge, this is a lot cheaper than paying money to have both full legs done at the salon...which I have done. I do agree, however, that refill cartidges are hard to find and is an awful lot to spend for a tube of wax and some strips of paper! (That is why this product only gets 4 stars in my opinion.) Nevertheless, I immensely prefer the results over shaving my legs.

Regarding the smaller cartidge for face...absolutely the best way to remove facial hair (armpits, however, are a different matter...ouch).

Expensive Tweezer
I received the Emjoi4Men as a gift today. I followed the directions, and the product does NOT work as advertised. It is not painless, even when you hold the buttons for 3x the necessary time. The Emjoi4Men is just an expensive tweezer. Save your money!

waste of money
ditto to what the last guy said. it doesn't work, and it's a big waste of money.

Don't waste your time nor money
It just doesn't work. Period. The hair doesn't come easily at all. As far as I'm concerned, the unit operates the same with or without batteries. The radio frequency doesn't help. Even if you spend 2 minutes in each hair (recommended is 15 to 20 seconds), you basically have to pull it off just like a regular tweezer - and it is very painfull as you may guess.

Plain and simple...IT DOESN'T WORK
I would have rated it zero if only the scale went that low. These tweezer-type hair removers do not work. Anyone who says they've tried it and it worked is deluding themselves. The hair will grow back. I was suckered into one several years ago before doing the research on it and I will never be duped again. Electrolysis works by inserting a needle into the hair shaft to deliver the (painful) shock which eventually destroys the follicle. The tweezers don't deliver enough energy to do anything. Please don't waste your money or hope on this useless product.

Didn't work for me
First, its really boring and unmotivating to use this product as you have to switch off the radio/TV etc, before using it.
Second, its very tedious.
If it was effective, it would have probably been worth the effort, but the hair wouldn't come off after more than 20 seconds of holding.

Didn't work for me. I gave up after several tries.
Jay

Didn't Work for Me At All!
I was so excited to get this product because I hate shaving. However, I quickly found out that it wasn't nearly as effective as it claimed to be. I tried hair from all over my body (legs, underarms, eyebrows, etc.) to see if I could get it to remove one hair. Just ONE hair! Nothing doing. I found out later that electrolysis is best for fine, light colored hair. Well, I have plenty of those, but I don't really need those removed - I need the dark, coarse hair! I was really disappointed. On the positive side (if you have fine, light hair that needs to be removed) it is fairly easy to use, although it takes forever, and has clear instructions. The multi-hair remover coil doesn't work so you really have to try and remove one hair at a time. It isn't very painful, I mean you can feel a kind of weird sensation under your skin, but it doesn't hurt - it just doesn't work...

IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!! cont'd
Just some corroborating evidence I copied from hairfacts.com :
NOTE: Finally Free is a "transdermal" device.

By the end of 1998, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had finally stated that electric tweezers had produced no statistically significant data indicating the devices could perform permanent hair removal.

In 1999, the FDA stated that they had not evaluated claims made by these "transdermal" devices and that they were not allowed to make claims of permanent hair removal.

IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! It doesn't work. Not even a little. I bought it along with two of the large refill packets which I used on my face (upper lip and chin) over a four month period as per instructions. There was NO noticable difference in the number of hairs OR coarseness. In other words, my money and time was completely wasted. It definitely was too good to be true. Instead, spend your money on lazer treatments (expect at least 4 treatments)- much more expensive but it is the only thing (besides electrolysis which takes many, many, many more treatments) that works.

UBEARABLE BARING
Yikes! I'll wear slacks forever before putting my skin through this painful and useless process.

Rather than removing hair it merely irritated the skin around the hair. Needless to say wasting my time and money also irritated me.

European women don't even think about body hair removal. Mama mias know best.

Really Bad
Doesn't Really work. Try Wahl Trimmer on Amazon. Much Better.

Don't bother
Doesn't work worth a flip.

Save you $10.

Performance is only skin deep.
The Conair NE151R is probably about the best looking nose and ear hair trimmer I've ever owned. But all this beauty comes at a price, performance. My previous personal trimmer was a Conair MN160CS, which was functionally the greatest trimmer I've ever owned. My loving family got me a Men's 10 piece grooming kit model GK3 from Conair, which includes the NE151R, for an early Fathers Day gift. Nothing beats grooming tools on Fathers Day, except for maybe socks, a tie, or pictures of your wife cheating on you. But my MN160CS was getting old, so with reckless abandon I stepped up to my new trimmer. The first thing I noticed was it came with no battery. It takes a AA, so I now have one more remote that won't work. After getting over that, I started using the NE151R.It wasn't nearly as high rpm as my MN160CS and it resulted in an almost tearing sensation instead of cutting. Nothing I couldn't get used to I guess. But to be a good father, I took this beauty along with me on a business trip. I've never been able to communicate with the young people I travel with for work, mostly because we are from different times, and they never give the old timer his respect. Just like I'm sure I didn't when I started out. On this particular trip my 20 something business associate shared a hotel suite with me. We tried to make small talk about sports and what not, and during that talk he commented on how well groomed my nose and ears were and he wished he was that smooth shaving. So I busted out the NE151R to let him use it. When he saw it he said "Man that is sweet!" a phrase my 17 year old son often uses. He couldn't get over the fact an old timer like me would have such a trendy trimmer. He used it, and his face kind of lit up like my youngest son when I bring him toys home from trips. The next day I got my young freind his very own NE151R during a lunch break, and he now looks at me like a father figure. I can't get him to leave me alone! In the end the NE151R ended up being the most useful tool I've ever owned.
