I am amazed at the power of the Bissell vacuum. I used the Bissell for the first time in my bedroom and the dirt cup was half full when I finished. I didn't know my carpet was that dirty! I previously used an Oreck upright vacuum for the last two years (unfortunately) and it has never worked right from day one. The Oreck vacuum has fallen apart, the belts break easily, the dust bag holder constantly falls off and it was time for me to get a new vacuum or lose my sanity. I am very satisfied and amazed at how well the Bissell operates. I would recommended a Bissell to anyone who is looking for an affordable and excellent product.

I jumped on this deal mainly because of the low price since I've been shopping for a vacumm for some time. I had been using a 12-year old bag vacuum and needless to say, it populated the air more than it cleaned the floor. I received this one yesterday and assembled it together in 5 minutes, then tried it. Wow, it sucked up so much stuff from the carpet in a few seconds that I started wnodering if it'd pull all the fiber off the carpet base :). Anyway, I'm impressed. The other vacuums costing 3 digits may be better, but I think this is an excellent value, if not the best.

One tip is that the Bissell HEPA filter fits this vacuum, so you can buy this vacuum and the HEPA filter, it actually saves you a few dollars comparing to buying the other $79.99 Bissell HEPA vacuum.

Another thing I'd like to note is that in comparing the Bissell Cleanview model to both Hoover and Eureka models, GETTING THE CANISTER ON AND OFF WAS SUCH A BREEZE COMPARED TO THE OTHERS (one of my major deciding factors)!

Additionally, it's worthy to note that ALL THREE filters one the Bissell Cleanview are VERY EASILY ACCESSIBLE and CHANGEABLE.

My whole house is hardwood, and this little picker upper really sucks. In a good sense, of course. With five dogs, I need to run the vacuum often, and haven't in the past because just the thought of dragging out the HUGE vacuum we have was just as painful as the action of dragging out the HUGE vacuum. Often, my vacuum sessions left me with a sore back, and missed nooks and crannies. I like this little vacuum because it gets places the huge one CAN'T. Like under some of our furniture and in between the stove and wall.
Granted, it doesn't have the suck power of our 12 amp vacuum, but for the light package deal you get, this little guy is well worth it. Plus, the price is right! AND it is small and easy to store.

In our house we call this the "dustbuster on a stick". Great for tile and hardwood floors. Also great on wooden stairs and cleaning the cars. Our animals don't like the loud vaccum we have in addition to this one, they find this one better on their ears. It has a long cord which is another plus for it. It even picks up from the top of a carpet. My kids think this is great fun. It's lightweight enough for them and at our house it does a GREAT JOB. Being disabled and finding a product that is lightweight enough for me and still does a great job is a huge plus.

This is the perfect little vacuum cleaner for apartments with hardwood floors, and it's astonishingly inexpensive. It is very small, lightweight, quiet, and powerful for it's size. I was looking around for awhile for something like this. I looked at the Shark vacuums,which seemed flimsy. There is only the tiniest problem with this vacuum, which is that the handle clip doesn't stay firmly attached- so I just put a piece of tape on it and now it's fine, and everything else about it is so good that this is minor.

Bissell's 499 Little Green Compact Multipurpose Cleaner cleans really deep and fast. It is very effective and smells good. Our dog likes it too!

This is amazing cleaning solution. It works wonders on tought stains. It smells wonderful. I use this solution with my Hoover Steamvac and with my Little Green Clean Machine. Anytime someone comes over, they remark on that wonderfully refreshing scent that pervades my home. Not only does it smell good, it cleans amazingly.

With the help of my machines, this solution lifts out tough grime with a cinch. Small stains dissapear instantly and it leaves the carpet soft and fluffy to the touch. This is a great solution, and it is pretty much the best one out there. Don't settle for less than the best.

I have a white carpet that cleans with warm water. Unfortunately what looks clean does not have that just laid look and feel that this product brings to life. It is easy to handle and dispense. Having a dial for the concentration on the Bissell one can place concentrates where needed. So this bottle can last for the entire house in most cases

With 3 pets and 2 kids, my family room carpet was a disaster. After cleaning with the Clearview Powersteamer, the carpet looks new again. I couldn't believe how much dirt was sucked up. I also like the tank in tank design, it is convenient for changing the water. I am very happy with this product.

I got this last summer, Because i was bored one night and flicked on a TV selling show (we all do watch them at times i am sure) Well they had the bissell on and i watched the pitch,. But was not ready to order from the TV, As we know the internet is a better place to locate items at the prices we trust.... Well i ordered my unit for the store, it is 65 feet x 35 feet, and around july, i figured to give it a test spin, i followed the directions., and was UTTERY SICKENED,. when i saw the DIRT......I felt like a complete SCUM BAG.... I use a HEPA BAGGLESS 12 AMP FANTOM VACCUM, But this bissell found stuff that was DEEP DOWN., So i ended up doing the WHOLE STORE (all 7 rooms) and from commercial carpeting to the DEEP PILE CARPET.....it made these carpets look new again. Then i proceeded to do the HOUSE I LIVE IN......and it made the whole house smell wonderful (we have 3 male cats, or should i go deeper into this?? No....But the bissell made it easier to breathe with the anti allergen additive, and I also use a AIR IONOZER for the Stuffy noise., But after cleaning, i was able to breath freely, And I also became a neighborhood deep cleaner for some close friends, i am waiting till it is open window time in PENNSYLVANIA, so i can do my spring cleaning to get the salt and winter tracked iun grime off again.....So if any one doubts the way bissell cleans!!! Get this one and give it a fair chance! you will be thrilled as much as i am, And EVEN save $$$$ from the people that drive the vans with the hoses......it will payfor itself many times over, and well worth the investment!!! In the past I have always rented machines to clean my carpets. I decided that I was tired of having to go to the store, put the machine in my car, carry it into the house, and then rush to clean my carpets so that I could return the machine and not get charged for an additional day of rental. After investigating a number of models, I bought this one, and I'm happy to report I made the right decision. I love this machine. It's easier to use than the much bigger and heavier rental units, and does a better job. Not to mention the cost savings - it will pay for itself after only 2 uses. I also like the fact that I can now clean one room at a time without having to feel rushed, becaause the only place I have to return this machine to is the closet. Do yourself a favor - stop renting and get yourself a Bissell. You won't be disappointed.

I was looking at Oreck's upright vacuums (because I wanted a light, but strong vacuum) and then I found this Bissell Prolite rated better in Consumer Reports. I decided to try it and I love it. The upright is light, has great suction, and is $150.00-$250.00 cheaper than the Orecks I was looking at buying. It is a little loud, but still worth it. I definitely recommend this vacuum pair!

I grew tired of pushing around my 10 year old vacuum that weighed a ton, so this time around I wanted something lightweight but powerful. This combo pack with the Prolite and Propartner was the answer to all my cleaning needs. The Prolite is so lightweight and easy to use, but really picks up the dirt. There are two fans for increased airflow (yes, I did my research) and this really helps for edge cleaning around baseboards. I can actually watch the dog hair being sucked up. I use it on my carpet and hard surfaces, and it works wonderfully.

When I was looking into purchasing a vaccum I noticed that the Prolite didn't have any tools or attachments, which was something that concerned me. Bissell has solved that problem by including the Propartner canister vacuum. I use this to clean the stairs, upholstery, and even my car. It has a switch on the handle to adjust the suction power which is really neat. I also love the retractable power cord. Why hasn't anyone else thought of that yet?

Between the lightweight (but powerful) Prolite and Propartner canister vacuum, the dirt in my house no longer stands a chance. If you're looking for a new vacuum, give these a chance and I know you won't be disappointed.

Bissell QuickSteamer 2050 Series Powerbrush. I read the reviews and found them very helpful. This machine does what it promises. It is easy to use, cleans up a storm, machine is easy to fill and empty and clean. I am very pleased with Bissell and Amazon.

Not a very exciting purchase, =) but necessary if your vacuum uses these filters. Does a great job at filtering out dust and smaller things you don't even know are in your house. If you have a vacuum with out this type of filter, you will notice a definite reduction in dust around your house when you start using this.

I bought this vacuum in March 2002 in an attempt to find the best of both worlds - my husband prefers an upright, I prefer a cannister. The vacuum does an excellent job in cleaning. I especially appreciate the filtration of the bags and the filter. The air in the house does not smell or feel dusty after vacuuming as it did with all of our other vacuums and the house stays cleaner longer. This vacuum is extremely noisy compared to my old Eureka cannister. My husband says it is quieter than most uprights and that I find it noisy because I'm used to a cannister model. With an upright, the motor is in front of me, so I hear the roar all the time. With the cannister, the motor was several feet behind me when I cleaned. Even in Lift Off mode, the loud motor is always next to me. My compromise is to wear those foam ear plugs to buffer the sound while cleaning. I am not able to vaccum underneath the furniture as well with this Lift Off model because it has a higher profile than the powerhead on my old cannister. Overall we are happy with our purchase and feel that this is a good value. Would I buy this model again? Probably not. When this one wears out I'll look for a cannister model with the filtrete clean air technology (or similar).

I have always had truble with vacumes! This one is soooooo powerful and I've had it for about a year now and its still great

I liked my first cannister/upright Bissel vacuum so much that I purchased a second one. This is the best vacuum, for the home, on the market. Believe me, I have tried them all. The bags are expensive but the vacuum is so good that I tolerate the price of the bags, plus the cost of the vacuum is very inexpensive considering the quality. A very nice feature is the long cord. You can plug it in and vacuum several rooms without having to unplug, then plug in again. It is a quiet vacuum, has wonderful suction, snaps apart easily for the cannister so you can vacuum the stairs, and is very durable. My older one is about ten years old and just as good as the day I got it. My second one is one year old and I am sure it will last many years.

I based my purchase on the reviews listed here after an unsuccessful attempt at comparing carpet cleaners on the internet. They are all correct in giving a 5-star rating to this lightweight, easy to use, effective, and economical jewel of a carpet cleaner! I got mine on sale for $89, but it works better than the higher priced models. I had a dark gray ugly spot on the family room carpet which was a creme color. I used the Bissell pre-soak and the machine twice, and the spot is gone! The power brush is a must for a good carpet cleaner. This QuickSteamer is well designed, and a breeze to use. Rememeber to keep the filters clean. But mixing the hot water and cleaning fluid is not a trouble at all. A fine product at any price!

After doing some research on carpet cleaning machines, I purchased this one to clean the carpet in my house. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the powerful rotating brush worked. The water tanks were easy to fill and empty and it's also surprisingly lightweight, so carrying it to the second floor was a breeze. I bought my house 2 years ago, and I haven't cleaned the carpet since I have been here. I was amazed at how much dirt was in my carpets. It was pretty disgusting to see what I was walking around in all the time. I should have bought one of these a long time ago. I would recommend this product to anyone who is interested in cleaning their carpets.

This is lightweight, easy to use yet does a wonderful job on my carpets. This is easy for me to use, easy to push yet does such a nice job. I recommend it!

I purchased a factory reconditioned Little Green Proheat a while back--the addition of 3 dachshunds to our home had definitely left an impression on our carpets and furniture. I took the time to clean every inch of our solid green upholstered sofa and chair, and WOW what a difference! They looked new again-- and cleaning up the spots that seem to occur on a pretty regular basis is a simple thing.

I've been amazed by products in the past, like the Eureka 4870DT that I just bought along with this unit (also see my review of that). I'm definitely amazed at that vacuum cleaner, but I'm not AMAZED at this. Don't get me wrong, this thing works--I just cleaned my car seat and floor mats with this thing and my car smells like new. I liked being able to see all the dirt and grime being sucked up. I also cleaned my kitchen chairs and it did a great job getting out old stains (probably also due to the hot water I used and the onboard heater feature). The power brush does the job, but I wish it would SUCTION while the brush is ROTATING, like the Rug Doctor you rent. Instead, you have to brush, then flip the switch to "SUCTION" to suck up the liquid. The spray feature is weak... it just squirts like a water gun; not SPRAY. That means, you're spraying quite a bit of liquid into one concentrated area. The seat or furniture will soak it up. That's one drawback with this unit--it leaves stuff pretty wet. You'll have to let things dry for a few hours after cleaning with this thing, if not overnight. Also, the plastic for the water and waster canisters feel very cheap... my unit actually had a thin hairline crack in it. The hose also feels a bit cheap and I wish it was a tad longer. Otherwise, I'm surprised how much you can clean with one canister full of solution. I only used about 1/3 of the liquid to clean 1 car seat, 2 floor mats, and 2 kitchen chairs. It's definitely worth the $50 I paid for this refurbished unit.

I bought the reconditioned Little Green unit, and have had no problem. It is very good for small areas- I use it for small areas in a room, and for carpeted steps. It takes some work in that you have to get down and manually spray then vaccuum, but this is what makes it very small and portable. The cord length could be longer, but an extension cord is easy to get. I have two small dogs, and it really got up a lot of dirt and accidents from the year that I've had them. The carpets look much cleaner and fluffed now. It won't work miracles, but it did get out a lot of spots and dirt I thought was permanent. What it does not do well is to clean large and very dirty areas. But I would hope no one buys this to deep clean large areas! You should have professional cleaning or get a large unit for that.

Overall, works well for what it is- a small area carpet cleaner where size, portability, and ease of storage are most important.
