Assembly was reasonably easy, with only three screws to turn (provided) and a Phillips wrench required. This machine pulled up so much dirt from our berber carpet that I was really rattled that babies had been crawling on it. We had just shampooed it a week before, and the water was almost black. The 12-amp motor really gets a lot more dirt than your average rental shampooer. The stains (baby spit up and cat "hairball" stains, and one dark pawprint) did not come out, even with a pretreater. They faded considerably, but professionally carpet cleaning knocks these out immediately, which is what I expected with this Hoover (to never have to call a professional again after making the initial ... investment). I did use the hand-held tool, too, for treating the stains. I initially just used the surge cleaner, then tried the pretreater (letting sit for at least 10 minutes) followed by the hand tool, then used the upright again on the same spots. Still have visible spots. Maybe my baby and cat simply have bionic spit up, or it sat too long. But, unquestionably, it pulled up a LOT of dirt. My carpets are cleaner.

In desperate need of a shampooer, totally tired of borrowing all the time, my boyfriend picked this one up. OH MY GOD! It's amazing! It picks up dirt from the carpet with such ease! We have two boys who read the newspaper on the floor, and it's not doing a very good job of picking up the ink off the carpet, but I think we've at least extended the life of the carpet by ordering them off the floor and onto the couch. It turned our dark grey carpet almost white! (The bedroom hadn't been shampooed on years) It's extremely easy to handle, gliding along the roughest carpet with ease. It's not too loud, but, it's a shampooer, of course it's not to be used when someone's sleeping. It's easy to fill with shampoo, and easy to dump. It lets you know when you're running out by significantly changing the sound it makes. All in all, it's a good buy!

I'd been looking at SteamVacs for a while now and had used other Hoover models so knew I wanted one by them. With a new puppy, I couldn't put it off any longer. Brought it home today and immediately put it to the test. Easy to assemble and does a great job. The only thing is that you have to expect to dump the dirty water about every two times you fill with clean solution. Takes time and does take some work, but if you want clean carpets without the cost of paying someone to take care of it for you, you should pick this up.

I have wanted this little Green Machine for sometime now. But I failed to do my homework before I bought it. I really should have bought the Green Machine with the rotating turbobrush. I think it probably would do a better job for my needs. I have a problem with weak wrists so its hard to clean with it. I have cats and the hair on upholstery quickly plugs the suction cleaning tool. It also seemed to leave lots of water behind requiring longer drying time. The good points are this machine is light weight and good for little easy clean up jobs.

This cleaner is wonderful for spot cleaning. I used to have one of the "original" models, and I am so happy with the improvements they've made over the years. This machine is so easy to fill/clean/etc. And..I've yet to have any trouble with leaks. Thanks Bissell!

We have mostly hardwood floors and ceramic tile with only a few rooms of carpet and area rugs. So the compact design was a great draw for me. The size is perfect! It is easy to carry around even when full with water. I purchased this based on reading the reviews and seeing it in action. Our cousin had new white carpet that their very large dog had an extremely loose stool on. I watched as The Little Green was loaded up with solution and water. I was thinking they had better get a professional over ASAP. It did take a little time as it was a large area and again white (not off white) carpet. Unbelievably, within minutes all appearance of the accident was gone along with the odor as the solution has a clean scent to it. We have an ill cat and I thought if it worked on that mess it should clean up anything our cat does. The day we brought it home, there was approximately a 3 x 3 area of a reddish (cat food coloring) stain on our light colored carpet. I set off to start the green machine and remembered that we didn't purchase solution. Surprise, nice of Bissell, they included a sample with the machine. :-) The mess cleaned up within minutes just as I had seen a few months earlier. Later that day, a friend stopped by and could not believe that the stain was gone. I am grateful to have it readily at hand!

My dad, myself, 2 sisters and 3 children all use the carpet cleaner my dad owns. It has been in the family for 5 years and is still going strong. It isn't as thorough as a comercial machine and probably takes longer but it does a good job. I spot treat with ispropyl alcohol and a spritz of Shout and then use about 1/2 the recommended soap in the machine. I also preheat the water on the stove so it is very hot. My dad has a wool carpet and I used cool water on it and the waste water was still very dirty. The water comes out in lines so it is important to overlap and go in different directions.

I was sure my carpet was beyond all hope. When it was new 16 years ago it was a light tan color, but over the years it gradually turned nearly black with multiple stains of everything from Kool-Aid and soda to wine, tracked in motor oil, grease, grime and a plethera of foods. Add to that a dog with tummy problems and you can imagine the stains!

My precious pooch is still with me at 17 years so I haven't replaced the carpets yet. I've tried every cleaning product and method available, professional and otherwise, and even resorted to scrubbing it with bleach! All to no avail.

I purchased the Hoover F5807 SteamVac despite being convinced I was throwing my money away once again. Wow was I in for a surprise! Due to the extreme condition of the carpet I had to go over it several times but each time the carpet got lighter and lighter as years of abuse vanished before my eyes until once again it is back very close to the original color.

This SteamVac is super easy to use, and it removes nearly all of the water, so drying time is greatly reduced. Just fill the bin with water and cleaner, snap it into place, press the button and prepare to be amazed! It has an auto shut off when the collection bin is full which is quite handy. Just pop it off and dump the bin. Easy, Easy, Easy, and my carpet looks great and smells fresh again!

I was so impressed with the wonderful job it was doing that I couldn't stop, I kept going until I cleaned every carpet and throw rug I could find. This is certainly the best carpet cleaner I have ever encountered.

I bought this product for my heavily stained carpet (2 messy kids in the household) and it effectively cleaned the carpet and made it look almost new. The machine was comparable to the rental machines in its ability to clean the carpet, but it had two small drawbacks:

1) The one gallon tanks (for clean & dirty water)- means it has to be filled or emptied often.
2) The release handle was a bit stiff.

Otherwise, this machine did a wonderful job!

I'M SO HAPPY WITH THIS MACHINE! IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY. MY CARPETS CAME CLEANER THAN THE WHEN WE HAD THEM DONE PROFESSIONALY BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. EASY TO USE, AND IT'S AMAZING TO SEE THE DIRT IT SUCKS OUT. THE GREAT PART IS YOU CAN CLEAN ANYTIME YOU WANT. THIS BABY WILL PAY FOR ITSELF IN NO TIME.

This carpet cleaner is unbelievable. I had my house professionally cleaned prior to moving in last year. There were some left over stains that couldn't be removed. Can you believe the Hoover got them out? I used the hand tools with the rotery brushes and now EVERY stain is gone. I am soooo tickled. My carpet looks brand new. I recommend this carpet cleaner to everyone. Tip: I put oxy clean in with the detergent.

I purchased this machine and I absolutely love it! It's a very wise investment, especially if you have children. It has saved my carpet on numerous occassions and I could not survive without it now. We used to rent those cheap ones from the local rental place and our carpet never looked or felt this clean. I can not say enough good things about this machine. I highly reccommend that you buy this steamvac if you value your carpeting, it will pay for itself within the first year.

With four dogs and 4 cats we needed something to keep our couch and area rugs looking nice. I was really suprised at how well this product worked! The colors in our couch look "new" again (with the build up of kitty hair-it had a look to it as if you were viewing it with a soft focus lens). It also did a respectible job on our area rugs. Considering the cost of this cleaner, I would say that it is an awesome buy for small cleaning jobs.

I have wall to wall carpets and 7 cats, who occasionally cough up hairballs, which for anyone who has cats will know, that can be somewhat messy. This is by far the best cleaning machine for carpets I have found. Much better than lugging out the big wet/dry vac for small spots. Thank you, Bissell. Job well done.

OK So I bought this little baby before we got our puppy. I had bought it for the 2 cats that we have and thought it might come in handy for little messes.

My wife bought me a puppy for Christmas, and since then I wll say that I thank myself every day for deciding to buy the Little Green. I have used it almost every day since our puppy arrived, and it works great! Takes out every stain that the little girl can throw at it (at trust me she has thrown a lot!). I wouldn't reccomend it for large surface area cleaning since it would take for ever and there would be a lot of work constantly filling the clean side and dumping the dirty side. But for those little messes, it works like a champ. Haven't had any problems or leaks, but I have only had this for a little over a month. So far it has been well worth what I paid!

We bought our widepath 4 years ago when we purchased our house. Cleaning companies charged more than the cleaner cost to clean the entire house. We were very happy with it, and still are as the hard floor attachment is great on our hardwood. After having a puppy that is now a 3 yr. old dog, it has been a great asset to have. Most of the messes have come up although there have been a few stains that just won't come out.

I'm only giving this four stars, even though it has been a great product. The reason being is that we have noticed that the hose attachment has cracked all the way through on the interior part of the machine. You pretty much have to lay the thing flat to put in the water take-up tank and at the bottom where you see the hose is where it has cracked.

The spin brush attachment was excellent on stairs, as our carpeting is around 12 years old and still in good condition. It brought the nap back up and has helped us put off replacing carpeting.

I will probably invest in a smaller carry around unit, like a Little Green Machine for the stairs as I think this will also be good for the car as well. As long as the hose on it works, I wouldn't buy another cleaner, but since mine failed, I think it might not be worth it to have it repaired as I think it will eventually crack again.

This is probably the best home product purchase I have ever made! I have two dogs and a 7-year-old house, yet my carpets looks great! This rug cleaner has rotating heads that scrub the cleaning solution lightly into your rug, and powerful suction that sucks the solution and dirt right out -- keeping the rugs immaculate and the pile of the carpeting straight. Yes, it does leave a little moisture behind, but if you use hot water with your cleaning solution, the carpet dries fast. My Hoover Steam Vac is a few years old and still going strong. If it ever died, I would gladly purchase a new one and know that I was making a wise purchase. Buy it, you'll love it too!

I got one of these for Chistmas 2001 and Have been using it atleast once a month since then. My carpets have never been cleaner to say the least. I am a renter and you never know what the person that lived here before spilt on the floor and all I can say is that whatever it was is gone. You'll never know how truly nasty your carpets and for that matter upholstry are until you use this thing. It sucks everything out so well. I used it in my car too on the upholstery, floor and even the floormats and my 12 yr old car looks brand new. I am now the envy of both sides of my husband and I's families or atleast my carpets are. Every time we call and say we are going to visit they ask me to bring my Steam Vac. This is so much easier to handle then renting a rug doctor and does't hurt your back and much more convienient too so you use it more, OK alot more. Not only that, it works a [heck] of a lot better too and the attachments are great!! It even fluffs up your carpet and once totally flattened old carpet looks so much better. My husband works in the oil field and always gets very dirty with sand and oil ect.. and I only let him sit in his recliner when he gets home because it's gross and his chair , if it was'nt for this Steam vac would be in the [garbage] by now. It gets every filth and grime you can imagine out and makes the upholstery look brand new. I highly highly highly recommend this product !! I honestly could not be happier . Hoover has truly put out a great product in this Baby!

I love the vacumn enough to buy several for relatives for Christmas. The only problem I have found is that after owning it for a while, it tends to loose power very quickly. I called the company and they told me that the battery works much like a cell phone and that the best way to get it to work consistently well was to let the charge die out totally on occasion, and then to let it recharge fully. I have tried this and it was the solution to the problem.

I love my new Bissell 3300P Go Vac! This baby is a great product and you certainly can't beat the price- what a deal! This is identical as the Bissell 3300 Go Vac delux except it's purple.

It took me about three minutes to assemble it when it arrive and overnight to fully charge the battery. It can be converted to a hand vac easily, it's light weight and compact, a lot more powerful than I expected and certainly is easier to handle than my old dirt devil. It works beautifully to pick up the stuffs on my laminated floor, pergo, hardwood, not as great on tiles but acceptable. I still need my regular vacuum but my regular vacuum can not replace the ease of use this little thing has.

How did I ever live without a Bissell Go Vac? This is a great little sweeper. It's powerful, lightweight & goes places a big vac can't go. I love having a cordless vac that I can use with a handle or remove the handle and use as a hand held. Buy one. You won't be sorry you did.

If you are a pet owner or the Mother of small children you will find that this little machine will make your life much easier. I have used several different models (including the rental machines) and have found this to be one of the easiest carpet cleaners to use. It is not too heavy and it has an extra long cord so you don't have to keep replugging it in every time you turn around.
The only real drawbacks I can find about the Eureka carpet cleaner is that you seem to have to empty the collection tank alot... it is a simple procedure though and once you get in the groove of the cleaning it doesn't seem to be a big deal. [and besides, if you had a larger tank the unit would weigh more]
You will be amazed at what comes out of your seemingly "clean" looking carpet! For the price, it can't be beat... don't waste your time and money on those little hand held units...spend a bit more... you won't be sorry.

I bought this cleaner (2576A)- same cleaner minus the attachments- and really liked it.

It is a little on the heavy side at 17#, but did a great job cleaning my carpets, both the low pile and the Berber. In fact, I had just cleaned the Berber with my old unit using a wand and hot, sudsy water just 2 days ago. I couldn't believe all the dirt that came out of it using the Eureka just 2 days later!

The dirty water basin is a little on the small size. It says it's 1 gallon, but I found I had to empty it more often than I had to fill the machine. It took all of 30 seconds each time, though, so it wasn't any more inconvenient than any other system I've used in the past.

Don't know how it will hold up over the long haul, but for a first time use, I'm impressed.

I had spent a lot of time reading reviews provided by Amazon and other consumer report organizations on deep steam cleaners. There seemed to be a lot of mixed reviews on the Bissell and the Hoover. Aside from Bissell creating chaos by offering so many different models of their machines, and the Hoovers just simply appeared to be a little more of an expense than what I had wanted to endure, considering that most of my house is hardwood with oriental/area rugs. However, it seems that most of the problems reported by consumers with all makes/models was the lack of following directions from actually cleaning their carpets to maintaining their machines. I couldn't find many reviews on the Eureka, which I thought could be a good or a bad thing. Assuming that chances are, however, that most people are apt to review a product when they are extremely dissatified with its performance or quality. Eureka has been in American homes for many years, how could one go wrong. I purchased the Eureka because it was the best value for the money. And, I was able to get a pretty decent deal through Amazon. It has paid for itself in the money I have saved by doing my carpet cleaning myself instead of having the pros do it. So far, it has performed beautifully! It has done what I have expected of it and even more. I have been surprised with what it has pulled out of the carpets and area rugs, even those that looked clean. It is easy to use and easy to clean and maintain. The clean water tank and the dirty water tank are easy to carry and remove/install in the machine. The machine isn't terribly heavy (my 2 year old Kenmore upright vac is heavier) and is relatively easy to manuever. The carpets dry quickly and smell and look clean after using the Eureka. The only thing that I wished it had, which would complete the entire package, is a bare floor attachment.

The Roomba is cool technology, but it wasn't the solution for us. We have two dogs, and mostly carpet.

As soon as it arrived, we fully charged the battery (12hrs) and set it loose in our living room. From our upstairs bedroom, it sounded like somebody was being mugged. eeeeeeeeee.... BOOM! eeeeee.... BOOM! eeeeeee.... BOOM!.

It did a decent job, but not nearly as thorough as a real vacuum. Noticably poor at cleaning border areas... ie, carpet edge meets hardwood, I watched it repeatedly roll over clumps of dog hair in these borders and not pick them up.

Perhaps, since it's battery powered, it doesn't have enough suction to pull hair all the way into the dust bin, so it just wraps it around the brush.

When you add the time spent cleaning the brush, moving chairs so it doesn't get trapped and emptying the smallish dust bin two times per room, you could have used a conventional vacuum and done a much better job.

I would recommend Roomba only for non carpet, no-pet situations. I returned mine, but will not rule out the next generation of these devices.

I put Roomba on my christmas list kind of as a joke cause my boyfriend thought it was stupid. Well, Roomba has certainly proven him wrong! I also recieved the rapid charger, which, if you have a lot of house to clean, charges the battery in 3 hours instead of 12. I've gotten at least an hour out of Roomba's battery each time, many times it will go much longer. I have hardwoord floors in my living room and a low pile carpet in my hallway. I am UTTERLY AMAZED at what Roomba picks up. Sure, its filling the dust bin is one thing, but when you flip the bin over to empty the particle bin, you'll be shocked. It picks up sooo much dust and dirt. This is a blessing for me since I have severe allergies and asthma. It is also fun to watch. (Who can say that about your standard upright?!) It wasn't so hot picking up Christmas tree needles, but then again, I didn't expect it to be. It also liked to drag the fringed tree skirt around and any thin cords that are left on the ground. I'd definitly recommend Roomba for lazy people like me who hate to clean!

I have had an original Roomba for over 1 1/2 years and it works wonderfully, especially with kids and cats around. Whenever I have had the slightest problem (I lost the frame that the filter sits in-my fault entirely), I have called or Emailed Roomba's customer service and they have IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT FAIL, WITHOUT QUESTIONS, WITHOUT CHARGE sent me whatever I needed. They are amazing. I have bought two more- one for my mom, one for my sister-in-law (with 3 kids and a cat) and we all love Roomba. Until you try it you will never believe how well it works.

for the price, you can't find a better cordless vac on the market. It's hard to find, of course, because vendors are looking to sell you inferior similar products for as much as $..., and they don't work as well as this vac does. Its cordless, its compact, it picks up almost anything, including pet hair, hay, dirt, crumbs from any type of floor, rugs, linoleum, tile and woodflooring. the collection cup comes on/off easily, replacement filters won't break the bank, and you will be amazed at how much this tiny little vac picks up!!
I have 2 housetrained rabbits, everyday i use the vacuum to pick up hay, fur and of course crumbs from around the table, and it does a great job. it can fit into corners, under almost anything, and is very manuverable and lightweight.
It doesn't make a lot of noise compared to bigger vac's, so it doesn't scare pets when used around them. The charge lasts almost 30 minutes, that's enough time to vacuum a large living room, kitchen, foyer den..and two large rabbit condos that have carpeting in them, and there is alot of charge left in it....
The only thing negative is after a while the carbon chips come out of the filter, but this is not a big deal. I've had mine now for 2 yrs, the same battery, it is still going strong.
It makes a great gift, too! Everyone i bought it for loves it!

Don't buy an expensive alternative, like the shark, the whirlpool model, or anyother cordless vac that costs more, you will be disappointed and waste your money....
This is a great little vacuum, for the price, you can't beat it. Retail stores don't carry it, they want you to buy the more pricey models they have, don't settle for second best!!

I got this after seeing it in my "gold box" and reading the reviews. I was intrigued by the cordless feature, thinking this would be a handy little unit to use on our pontoon boat carpeting. I always worried about getting electrocuted from the a power cord going over water while using a standard vacuum. Anyway, this little thing really does the job. I was shocked.
Yes, you have to empty the collection cup every few minutes... but that's because it's doing such a fantastic job. I have 4 shorthaired dogs....and I am amazed at how it picks up the hair. My big vacuum doesnt do as good a job!!! It's light, completely portable and works quite well. The one problem I think some of the others ran into is that this battery DOES HAVE A MEMORY. So, YOU CANT LEAVE IT PLUGGED INTO THE RECHARGER ALL THE TIME. You fully discharge it, then recharge it, and disconnect it from the wall. The manual is VERY CLEAR ABOUT THIS POINT.
Anyway, this item is meant to be a toy for kids, but for quick clean ups, or for those who are disabled and cant manage a heavy vacuum, this is perfect. I love mine.

Got this for her for mothers day. She just loves it. It runs about 15 minutes which is great for getting a fast clean job. She was also suprised it picked up so much dirt.
