A Vacuum bag that Thinks it's a HEPA filter - Great!
I CAN VACUUM
- The WindTunnel Power Nozzle styling has a low profile design for cleaning in those tough-to-get-at places and incorporates the effective WindTunnel technology.
- The wide 15" nozzle cleans more carpeting per stroke than a traditional 12" nozzle. Edge groomers mounted on both sides of the nozzle help loosen dust, dirt and unsightly lint that collects along baseboards.
- Bagless system with transparent cup. The cup is easily removed and emptied for an easy and clean disposal of the dirt.
- Multiple stages of filtration. 1st Stage filter, in dirt cup, traps most of the dust and allergens. Additional levels of filtration are located after the cup to trap additional debris that may have escaped the first filter.
- Deluxe Pump Handle design allows for near effortless control and operation of the WindTunnel Bagless Canister. Slide-Knob variable speed control provides remote fingertip control of the motor speed and Fingertip Brush Roll On/Off Control.

great canister vac
Vroom vroom!- Looks fantastic.
- High quality design with lots of cool touches (e.g., retractable extension cord)
- Very easy to assemble. Everything just snaps in.
- It's bagless. Very easy to maintain and clean.
- Very quiet for a vacuum.
- Continuously variable power level.
- Cool carpet mode.
- Sucks well.
- HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Air) filter traps dirt, pollen, etc. for cleaner air.
Cons:
- It's a bit expensive.
- A bit heavy overall.
Hoover's S3755 vacuum is designed for two kinds of crowd: (1) those looking for high quality and easy to use vacuum and (2) those that hate vacuuming. I hate vacuuming. My fiancé nags me every week to vacuum, and I complain how the vacuum (Dirt Devil's upright model) does not suck well and that it's noisy, heavy, and too cumbersome to clean it up afterward. She got me Hoover's S3755 as a compromise. What a cool vacuum!
I feel like a kid for saying this, but when I vacuum with Hoover, I feel like playing with a toy. And I mean that in a good way. Finished in combination of metal and high quality plastic and painted in metallic silver, it resembles Volkswagen's New Beetle. Since it is a canister design (I rather call it an elephant design), the nozzle portion is very light and more flexible. It can easily travel where upright vacuums cannot.
When I first took it out from the box, I felt like a child opening a Christmas present. Everything just snaps in like a Lego, with a satisfying click. Once assembled, I powered it up and wow, it is QUIET! Slide the power level (which slides very smoothly) and it increasingly whirs louder and sucks in with greater force. Hitting the carpet button activates the motor - it rolls forward automatically. So cool!
Of course, none of this matters if it does not suck well. And I can say it sucks very well. In no time, the place became much cleaner. This Hoover model is equipped with HEPA filter, which is great for those with allergy. I can't wait to go home and vacuum some more.

Allergen FiltrationAdditional Comment:
Because of the small particles that are trapped in the bag, I take the vacuum outside to remove the filled bag. This prevents these particles from escaping back into the air in the house.

March 2002 - Shocked that Hoover didn'tBut I am absolutely amazed that Hoover didn't bother to include the Nozzle Clean-Out Tool, a small piece of plastic (I assume, since tool was missing), this small item IS necessary to clean the debris that gathers between the suction nozzle hood and the housing. This is a very tight area and the booklet tells one 'how' to use clean-out tool (which is NOT supplied). The booklet then goes on about pouring two cups of water on non-carpeted floor and sucking that through the machine several times - a cumbersome and inefficient method plus requiring a surface suitable to pour water onto which in my case requires hauling the cleaner out to the garage.
The price of this little item in the Accessories List is [money]. ... - plus [money] to ship it. This minor item is almost enough to cause me not to purchase from Hoover again. Very shortsighted of Hoover, if I may say so...
I was surprised (pleasantly so) at how much dirt comes up as I am a daily vacuumer, leaves the carpeting fresh and nice smelling, it is just the lack of that clean-out tool that does indeed trouble me.
Excellent Productend of discussion.
it's an excellent product.
it might be little pricey, for as often as the average person might use it, but the investment is well worth it.
if your home is carpeted, this is something i can't imagine you could do without.
we have oak upstairs, and Pergo downstairs, so we use a lot of
area rugs.
the SteamVac is perfect.
we assemble the parts, add hot water, plug it in, and we're cleaning.
the dirty water, when we're done, tells the whole story.
i can't really think of any meaningful negatives.
it might be a little heavy for a woman, moving it around the house.
it can take a few minutes to assemble each time you decide to use
it, and another few minutes to take it apart and clean it before
you put it away again, but nothing compared to the time it would take to rent one.
and then have to return it.
it's probably not practical for small spills or spots.
but when your rugs and carpets need a good professional-style
cleaning, this SteamVac is definitely the ticket.
This is one terrific Steam Cleaner.

Fire the cleaning lady!
My Carpet is Clean Again!I took my shampooer home and immediately cleaned my formerly light beige berber carpet. With two small children and a husband, there are coffee and chocolate milk stains all over the floor. I used the cleaning solution at double strength and followed the directions. The next morning, I could tell the stains were much lighter than they had been! So, two days later, I cleaned the carpet again. My carpet is now the light beige it was when it was new five years ago! There was even a rather large spot where someone had left their sippy cup filled with chocolate milk in the floor and all the milk had drained into a puddle. That stain was lifted with relative ease!
My Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe Carpet Cleaner has changed the life of my floor. Now I am no longer embarrassed to have friends over for dinner!
